Co-lead pastor Alex Leyva continued our sermon series in 1 John this Sunday with chapter 4 verses 7-12. He taught us that God's love is the greatest love that we can receive and impart. The source of love is God because God is love. God's love is self sacrificing, action oriented, and done for the betterment of others. Jesus is the expression of God's love, and we are called to reflect God's love to others because we have received it ourselves.
Jase puts on his semi-annual display of rugged manliness for his wife and neighbors, only for it to backfire in a way he wasn't expecting! Phil receives hopeful news that changes his outlook for the rest of the year, and Jase takes a leaf out of another country's plan to get voters to actually show up at the polls during elections. The guys compare the traits of spiritual con men and cult leaders to the principles of the Bible to show just how far off base religious types can be if Jesus isn't their center. Those of you who are followers and listeners of this podcast each and every week (thanks for that), might remember me inviting Sam McKinney on the podcast in episode 256. If you didn't listen to that, you owe it to yourself to do so. I am thankful to have Sam back on the podcast to discuss the topic of Public Display of Affection. While surveying my online community, I saw that this was a topic that kept coming up over and over again. For that reason, I wanted to tackle it. The problem? I am a bisexual man in a hetero-presenting relationship. So...I don't face the same issue as do many of you. I recognize that so I wanted to bring someone else on the show to share their thoughts and experiences. Sam was kind enough to do it. Sam desires to be somewhat discreet with her socials so I respect and honor that. I will also say that if this is a topic that you have strong feelings around, I am open to having others guests on the podcast. After all, this podcast exists for you. This week, I'm speaking with fellow podcast host, David Ferrugio.David lost his father on 9/11 when he was 12. He learned the importance of discussion around grief and sharing other people's stories which inspired DEAD Talks Podcast. He was born in NY, raised in New Jersey and currently lives in Los Angeles, CA. So brilliantly in this episode David shares with us what his grief has taught him and how having a loved one die on such a public scale has affected him, both good and bad in equal measure. David has such an inspiring outlook on life after the tragic death of his father and I think it really shows in this episode.Find David on Instagram and all major podcast listening platforms under Dead Talks podcast.Big love,Amber xxxFollow and be part of The Grief Gang community:Join our Patreon Unpacking Grief: patreon.com/UnpackingGriefInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thegriefgangpodcast/?hl=enTwitter: https://twitter.com/thegriefgang?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5EauthorFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheGriefGangYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCpe5pGmjvqPFteN4L7T_ZATikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thegriefgangWebsite: https://www.thegriefgang.com/Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-grief-gang. Thrashers the world over are still in shock over the retirement of the mighty Slayer, so let's lighten the mood by curating a playlist of of the band's best deep album tracks. On the auspicious day of the 13th of February, I, Gindee, an erudite radio presenter with a melodious voice, took it upon myself to host a Valentine eve special on the esteemed Cruise Block show, which is broadcasted on the prestigious Uniuyo 100.7 FM. In order to add more spice to the show, I teamed up with my co-hosts Tamilore and Emerald, both of whom are also sagacious and witty radio presenters, who never fail to keep our esteemed listeners captivated with their thought-provoking discussions and insightful opinions. The show, which was adorned with a plethora of heartwarming and romantic themes, explored two riveting topics, which left our listeners begging for more. The first topic we delved into was PDA, which is an acronym for Public Display of Affection, a practice that has been the subject of many debates in recent times. We analyzed the pros and cons of PDA, exploring the various forms of PDA and their effects on society. The second topic we explored was how lovers save each other's names on their phones. We asked our listeners to share their peculiar and sometimes hilarious ways of saving the names of their loved ones on their phones. Some of the responses we received were downright hilarious, while others were quite intriguing, providing us with a glimpse into the various personalities and cultures that make up our diverse society. In addition to our stimulating discussions, we also played some of the most amazing songs that are sure to melt the hearts of our listeners. From romantic ballads to love songs from some of the greatest artists of all time, we made sure to curate a playlist that would touch the souls of our listeners. Furthermore, we also read out comments from the opinion poll that we had conducted on WhatsApp prior to the show. The poll was aimed at providing our listeners with a platform to share their opinions on various aspects of love and romance, giving us a deeper understanding of the issues that affect us all. The show was a fun-filled extravaganza, packed with amazing moments that will stay etched in the minds of our listeners for years to come. So, dear listeners, grab your headphones and your popcorn, and get ready for a rollercoaster ride of emotions, as we take you on a journey through the wonderful world of love and romance. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/daniel-lawrence12/message

As Practicing Catholics, you may have heard the phrase, “the Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith.” And it's true. The Eucharist is one of the most beautiful mysteries of Catholicism, and we have the honor of receiving Jesus in this way every time we attend Mass (if we're in the right state to do so). But how do we share that mystery with others? Holy Cross Catholic Church in NE Minneapolis has been offering/hosting/inviting each of us to a public Eucharistic Procession for 17 years now, and Fr. Spencer Howe and Sam Backman joined us this past weekend to share more about this unique devotion. archspm.org/events
Many people have a hard time creating new positive habits within their daily routine. When you do make a positive habit, you expect massive changes to happen because you have made the change you have been talking about for so long. When people ask marathon runners how they plan on finishing, many respond with its one step at a time. When you only focus on the result, it seems like you will never get there, but when you focus on the one step at a time, it won't feel as far. Perfect that one step, so by the time you have reached your goal, you have also put in place habits that you can implement in future endeavors. 4:36- Set yourself up for success9:27- Addition not subtraction 12:13- Public Display of Accountability13:50- Success Buddy15:57- Competition 18:22- Celebrate"The Compound Effect" - Darren HardyDon't forget to hit that Subscribe button and leave a review.
