The future of the Church lies in unity, a divine calling for both connection with God and with one another. This transformative journey can be likened to the changes experienced in marriage, encompassing both ease and challenges. Spiritual formation unfolds through cycles of Awakening—recognizing our separation from God; Purgation—removing obstacles to that union; Illumination—gaining God's perspective; and finally, Union—achieving oneness with Him. This cyclical process deepens throughout our lives, fostering a collective unity among all believers as we draw closer to God.
In this episode, Dan discusses the concept of detachment and purgation as prerequisites for entering heaven. He explains that detachment means seeing everything in life as a gift that is temporary and on loan from God. By detaching from worldly attachments, we can experience more joy and freedom. Purgation, on the other hand, involves saying no to ourselves and denying our selfish desires in order to say yes to God. Through purgation, we can remove our self-centeredness and experience a fuller life. GESTATION & REBIRTH OF STARCHILD A gracious God, however, introduced the antithetical way to the eschatological blessing, which is the redemptive covenant in which we find the biblical rationale for the delay of judgment. "The delay was due rather to the principle and purpose of divine compassion by which a new way of arriving at the consummation was introduced, the way of redemptive covenant with common grace as its historical corollary."5 DELAY The consummated blessings of the eternal kingdom and the curse of an eternal hell are delayed by the principle of common grace introduced after the fall. In this sense, "the delay and common grace are coterminous. The delay in relation to common grace provides a solid historical ground for "a consummation involving an extensive revelation of the divine perfections, a glorified paradise as well as a lake of fire." Therefore, the delay is not only "the delay of mere postponement but the delay of gestation.” Common grace is "the antithesis of the consummation, and as such it epitomizes this world-age as one during which the consummation is abeyant."6 INTRUSION Breaking through first of all in the Old Testament period, the Intrusion finds itself in an age which is by the divine disposition of history, or, more specifically, by the divine administration of the Covenant of Redemption, an age of preparation for a later age of fulfillment and finality. Its appearing, therefore, is amid earthly forms which at once suggest, yet veil, the ultimate glory. Not to be obscured is the fact that: within this temporary shell of the Intrusion there is a permanent core. The pattern of things earthly embodies realized eschatology, an actual projection of the heavenly reality. It is the consummation which, intruding into the time of delay, anticipates itself [emphasis mine].8 “The eschatological kingdom is the ultimate goal of redemptive history” X in the sense of that which is “locative in house” the double helix being Christology in our anthropology (The Locative is or has been mostly limited to us in house but as you'll see above is meant to intrude into the affairs of men and nations) M in the sense of that which is “instrumental” the Davidic Monarchy being Chistocracy in a Theocracy מ KING OVER THE WATER | TOTAL RECALL https://on.soundcloud.com/7XhfYcPSZa3HZH8b7 NAVY SEALS BUD/S TRIDENT & AQUAMAN ““Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? In it God commands the prophet Ezekiel to declare to the prince of Tyre, “‘In the pride of your heart you say, ‘I am a god; I sit on the throne of a god in the heart of the seas.' But you are a mere mortal and not a god, though you think you are as wise as a god.” It occured to me that “a god in the heart of the seas” sounds a lot like Poseidon, so I looked further afield, beyond the Bible. It turns out that Agenor, the Phoenician king of Tyre in Greek legend, was said to be a son of Poseidon. It was not uncommon for the writers of the Bible to avoid naming gods other than God directly and instead rely on allusion. I am now fairly confident it is Poseidon that the Bible is alluding to here Going Boldly Where The Last Man has Gone Before! As we live into eternal life in the here and now, we will become painfully aware that we are all carrying some heavy baggage on the journey. Instead of trying to carry that baggage on our own, what if Jesus is reaching out to us asking us to release that baggage into his care? Isaiah 6:5 (ESV) And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!”Luke 5:1-9 (ESV)On one occasion, while the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret, and he saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon's, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people from the boat. And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking. They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken, and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.”

In addition to sharing all about the financing process for "Purgation," Elaine also talked about how she has managed to pull off the impossible -- make her living as a working director in Hollywood. Today, in our series of "Life, Love, & Light" podcasts on The Mystical Path, we consider the Path of Illumination. We hear Julian of Norwich describe her own experience of illumination when she saw the sudden and blissful transformation of Christ on the cross -- from suffering to perfect joy. Julian herself was lifted up in a transport of ecstasy. This is the illumination that the disciples, male and female, experienced at Easter. Like them, Julian was overwhelmed by the reality of resurrection -- that Christ had conquered suffering and death once and for all. Yet she understood that right now we still abide in the reality of the cross; we still live within the passion of Christ: “in our pains and in our passion, dying.” However, Julian envisioned that, at the last moment of our lives, suddenly Christ will “change his countenance toward us, and we shall be with him in heaven.” By this she meant that Christ will instantaneously convert all our suffering into joy, simply by transforming our mind's ability to perceive him.We reflect on the fact that as we move from the Path of Purgation onto the Path of Illumination, we, too, may experience moments of deep inspiration, vivid images, graces that come pouring out upon us, voices telling us what to do, all good things. We may have glimpses of light and momentary “beholdings,” as Julian of Norwich called them. However, we must not think we have already reached perfect union with God. There's a big distinction between the glimpses that arise in our minds in the early and later stages of the Path of Illumination. So as not to be misled, we must continue to be faithful to our contemplative practice, morning and evening -- becoming aware of our thoughts but not grasping onto any of them. We must remain open to the presence of God and not crave spiritual "perks." We don't want to be satisfied by the insights and inspirations that come from our own mind; we want only those that arise direct from the Divine Source. Cultivating greater awareness and stillness in our meditation practice will also enable us to deal more capably with the life situations in which we find ourselves -- after meditation. Teresa of Avila linked the Path of Illumination with the Prayer of Quiet. At this point, we are able to remain silent and focused more easily in meditation -- and for longer and longer periods of time. We begin to experience a different level of Divine Reality and to rest in this "divine milieu." Then, as our awareness of Divine Presence becomes sustainable, we learn to trust it more and more. Perhaps for the first time, we feel truly "alive"!PLEASE SHARE these podcasts with family member and friends who are seeking a mystical path and a contemplative practice in their lives. And let them know about the upcoming Virtual Retreat I will be leading on the Revelations of Julian of Norwich: "All Shall Be Well" (May 1st-2nd, 2021). Information and Registration are on my website: https://www.veronicamaryrolf.com/retreats.html ALL ARE WELCOME!

The hosts discuss the stages of Christian Mysticism, using the models of early Desert Father John Cassian and 20th Century Anglican writer Evelyn Underhill. This episode is rich in explaining some of the traditional models used in the mystical tradition that has always been in Christianity, throughout history, even if not often discussed in churches. The hosts also often candid feedback as to how (and if) these models apply to the modern Westerner trying to balance contemplative life with a hyper-stimulated socio-economic culture.
