After months of anticipation, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis officially announced his 2024 presidential campaign from Miami, Florida on Wednesday evening. The state has become a hotbed for political controversy with the NAACP, Equality Florida, and the League of United Latin American Citizens all issuing travel advisories for the state, alleging to their members that the state's conservative policies showed the state "has become hostile" for minorities. Republican Mayor of Miami Francis Suarez believes this advisory is nothing more than a political stunt. Mayor Suarez joins the Rundown and shares his opinions on Governor DeSantis' 2024 campaign and discusses why he is still weighing whether or not he will join the GOP primary race as well. Despite two more candidates announcing their campaigns this week, former President Trump remains the front-runner Republican candidate in the polls. The Republican leadership has been focused on expanding their voter base ahead of the 2024 election in hopes that they can gain control of the House, Senate, and White House in the coming years. FOX News Sunday host Shannon Bream joins the podcast to discuss how former President Trump may navigate his GOP front-runner status as more candidates continue to join the field, what main policy issues will broaden the tent for Republican voters, and the latest on Supreme Court news and debt ceiling negotiations. Today's show rundown: Today, Chuck & Mark sit down and talk to New Orleans Mayoral candidate Vina Nguyen. Chuck starts out by talking the absolute arrogance and hubris of Biden and his cronies. Even the French are calling him incompetent. Is Biden just NOT listening to his advisors, or are his advisors as insane as he is? Mark thinks Biden may not be trusted enough to even turn a stove off. Our old allies are reaching out to Putin and Russia for help in the Afghan region, to fill we left over there. We have testimony from survivors about how the Taliban is shooting women and then raping them. Torturing anyone who was associated with America over there. We all know who these guys are over there, The Taliban, and they are not to be trusted. We are going to talk to a Republican running for Mayor in the city of New Orleans. There hasn't been a Republican Mayor in New Orleans for over 150 Years. We need to take back all these local and state houses, we need to fight the way Soros and his cronies operate. Vina and her parents came over from Vietnam in the 1990's. If you could see the chaos and destruction the current Mayor is leading through the city, you would be appalled. 60% of business owners have gone out of business under the Cantrell administration. It is unsafe to walk around in the city between 2-6AM. What do we need to do to make these Governors in Leftist states WAKE UP and cut off the free government money - which will cause people to go back to work. https://www.vinanguyen4mayor.com/ Give H2Max a try and let us know what you think: buyh2max.com Help us bring you the best content possible. Tomi Lahren, Conservative Political Commentator, says we cannot discount the importance of the American people willing to stand up for themselves and exercising their Rights under the 1st Amendment. It is a major factor in what makes America so unique. “Average” Americans are not “average” at all! The foundation of America is its people, willing to work hard and make the personal sacrifices necessary for their families, their communities, and the Nation, when need be.Allen West, American Politician and Retired Army LTC, believes one of the fundamental aspects of “What Makes America Great” is from the very first shots fired at Lexington and Concord at the start of the Revolutionary War through today are all the young men and women who are willing to answer the Call of Duty for the Nation. In fact, the American Army actually existed before we were a Nation. Because the members of our military take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, they are serving the American people, not an individual President or any political party. They are doing what they do for “We The People”.Javier Villalobos is the newly elected Republican Mayor of McAllen, Texas, which is located 13 miles from the Texas-Mexico border. He cites two reasons America is such a great country — our Liberties, our Freedoms, and our People. He says we are very accepting of new people coming into the country, but we need to be very careful about how we allow people to come in with immigration. He is the son of a migrant farmer, started as a child in the barrio, and because of hard work and education, he is now able to be an attorney and a mayor. This is the American Dream!Pam Bondi, former Florida Attorney General, says because America is a melting pot of numerous, very diverse, wonderful cultures to become our American culture, America is truly great! In other words, it is the American people who “Make America Great”. They come together in times of adversity. They are resilient and strong. But she does mention the strength of this cultural melting pot is that all are people who immigrated to America are people who came legally.
Here is the blurb that will be posted with the FOX News Rundown podcast for TUESDAY JUNE 15, 2021: Throughout the past year we've seen leaders in state and local government handle the coronavirus pandemic, protests and riots differently from one another. One state that has been both praised and ridiculed for its handling of Covid-19 is Florida. What we've also seen this past year is more and more Americans leaving big cities in states like New York and California for the "Sunshine State." Republican Miami Mayor Francis Suarez discusses leading his city during the pandemic this past year, how to battle crime and why he thinks people are moving to his state. As President Biden continues his foreign policy trip through Europe, Americans face tax refund delays and that is sparking fresh debate about how the wealthy are taxed by the government. U.S. Tax Policy Reporter at The Wall Street Journal Richard Rubin joins to discuss how lawmakers' changes to laws in the middle of tax season have resulted in delays in tax returns and millions of federal refunds being sent out. Rubin breaks down how the child tax credit from the last big stimulus deal will work, how soon this advanced child tax will be phased out and explains the legality of IRS data being leaked in regard to ProPublica's report on the tax returns of America's wealthiest people. Plus, commentary by syndicated columnist and author of "America's Expiration Date," Cal Thomas.

Starting tomorrow night, most Californians will be living under a new stay-at-home order, an overnight curfew to try to stem the spread of the coronavirus, but many are bristling at the new public health order, vowing not to obey it, enforce it, and in some cases, promising to challenge the governor in court. Among those highly critical of Governor Newsom’s latest move to try to bring COVID-19 in check, is the Republican Mayor of San Diego, Kevin Faulconer. Mayor Faulconer joined KCBS Political Reporter Doug Sovern along with Anchors Jeff Bell and Patti Reising with more on his efforts to push back against the Governor.

In the past decade or so, Shreveport has been losing very good jobs with major companies closing their Shreveport operations. It was very different in the late 1960s when Shreveport leadership worked closely with the State officials in Baton Rouge to provide incentives for the northern Louisiana region. The good news is Shreveporters are beginning to say the people of Shreveport deserve better than what they have been getting. Our American Mama, Denise Arthur discusses our personal responsibility as parents and as adults to do what is rational to protect our health. Just like with any other disease, especially viruses, when we send out children off to camp, we probably should anticipate they could come home sick. He finds some fascinating comparisons between the Republican Mayor run cities, the City Manager run cities, and the Democrat Mayor run cities. The cities with strong Democrat Mayors (no city managers) are the only ones having problem with riots and destruction.Senator Mitch McConnell gave a speech on the Senate Floor which is very profound. Tonight on @ConwayShow we hear from Corbin Carson on the Newport Beach Pier, who hears from people who witnessed a man driving through a group of peaceful protests. We then interrupt the program to go Live to a Mayor Eric Garcetti press conference, he talks about the arrest of all 4 Minneapolis Officers and the changes that needed to be made in LA. In the middle of the conference a 5.1 Earthquake hit in Searles. We then hear from Kris Ankarlo, live in West Hollywood describing new Police reforms and the Earthquake we all just felt. Steve Gregory joins us to talk being a Surrogate for Mayors Presser and the DTLA protests. Steve also touches on the new police policies. Longtime friend of Tim, Najee Ali calls in to share his thoughts of the protests and the police. We then hear from callers that live near Searles, where the 5.1 earthquake hit. Kris Ankarlo is still down in West Hollywood and says the Garcetti speech made a difference to a lot of protestors. They look forward to the changes and new police policies. We do a mini Whip around to answer the question when the last time Atlanta had a Republican Mayor. Kris Ankarlo checks in one last time and says the protest had turned into a block party of sorts and everyone was in high spirits.

As the midterm elections near, reporters and editors at the Union-Tribune have been asking this questions: Who are we as voters? San Diego County has usually been a political anomaly. There are way more Democrats than Republicans, yet the city boasts a Republican Mayor and the County Board of Supervisors is all red. Our demographics play unique roles as well: military families, first generation Americans, a large latino base and an urban and rural divide. With the help of our data reporters, reporter John Wilkens and his editor Mark Platte have tried to answer that question of who we are. This story will go live on Sunday, Nov. 4.
Conventional wisdom says that to win an election, you need to play to your constituencies' basest, most divisive instincts. But as a candidate for mayor of Tulsa, Oklahoma, G.T. Bynum decided to skip the smear campaigns and trash talk and instead focus on results. He told Tulsa's voters exactly what he wanted to accomplish if elected and gave them transparent ways to measure his success, and it led him to win the election. In a hopeful, funny talk, Bynum shares how he's now using data and evaluation to tackle his city's most pressing issues -- and why we need to set aside our philosophical disagreements and focus on those aspirations that unite us. Subscribe to America Adapts on Itunes In this traveling episode, Doug Parsons takes America Adapts on the road to sunny Ft. Lauderdale, Florida! Doug was invited as press to cover the inaugural Companies vs Climate Change (CvCC) conference. The purpose of the event was: to serve as a global forum for companies of all sizes to share best practices for solving climate change with wholly justifiable business value. CvCC strives to serve as a conduit that will bring companies together to create business driven solutions to the climate crisis. This conference was about three things: 1.Climate change; 2.How can companies address climate change? 3. How can companies collaborate to address climate change? As you can see, it covered a lot. The city of Ft. Lauderdale was an excellent setting, embedded in the South Florida culture of adaptation. The plenary speaker was Republican Mayor of Ft. Lauderdale, Jack Seiler. The Mayor stressed the role businesses must play in meeting the challenges of climate change, and he noted, his city is dealing with the impacts of sea level rise first hand. Although still a hot potato issue in other parts of the country, it was refreshing to see South Florida embrace the need to address what is happening in their own backyard (or beach). Doug listened in to a number of interesting presentation topics: the major airlines addressed carbon mitigation in the airline industry; resilience in the supply chain process; the role of renewable energy; dealing with climate change under a new political administration; and developing public/private partnerships. Generally, Doug has participated in more adaptation themed conferences, but this one was a mix of mitigation and adaptation. It was interesting to see many of the businesses try to incorporate adaptation into their already existing sustainability efforts. Terms like “triple bottom lined” were used frequently (social, economic and environmental); terminology Doug was not accustomed to hearing in conservation oriented meetings! Doug wandered the hallways, interviewing scientists, business people and non governmental representatives. A sampling of some of the ‘mini-podcasts’ below: Chandler Van Voorhis of Green Trees discussed: Carbon markets and tree plantings. Markets moving ahead independent of government action. Launch of new app to help offset carbon. Michael Green of the Climate Action Business Association His groups helps businesses understand the risks and opportunities with climate change. Discussed what small business leaders have already done. We discuss if adaptation/risk officers will follow the same, underappreciated path of sustainability officers. Greg Hamra of Hamra Center for Climate Solutions Discussed the Citizens Climate Lobby and its role in mitigation policy. Their efforts to engage with businesses. Doug also talked with Dr. Tiffany Troxler and Dr. Shimon Wdowinski of Florida International University, both sea level rise experts, and conference organizer, Nick Aster, from Triple Pundit. Listen in to the micro-podcasts to hear their perspectives on the role of ‘companies versus climate change.’ Finally, yes, most of your favorite podcasts are supported by listeners just like you!
