The common view of hell is that it is a place of separation from God where the unrighteous suffer eternal conscious torment (ECT) in a fire with no relief and no hope of escape. Problem 1: ECT contradicts scriptures that speak of the destruction of the wicked, including Gen 3:19-23; Ps 1:6; 37:9-11, 20-22, 28-29, 34, 37-38; 92:7; 145:20; Prov 2:21-22; 12:7; 24:10-20; Is 66:15-16, 23-24; Mal 4:1-3; Mat 3:11-12; 7:13-14; 10:28; Jn 3:16; 5:28-29; Rom 6:23; 2 Thes 1:6-9; Heb 10:26-27; 2 Pet 2:6, 12-13; 3:7. Problem 2: ECT violates the ethic of proportional justice. Torturing the wicked forever is out of proportion to their crimes. Since we know that Yahweh judges with righteousness and equity (Ps 9:7-8), he cannot also be excessive in his punishment. Problem 3: ECT implies that God is cruel. If you had a friend who was so sensitive and offendable that he wished to punish his enemies by tormenting them forever, what would that tell you about his character? God is not sadistic; he is loving, gracious, merciful, and just (Ex 34:6-7; Deut 32:4; Jer 9:24). When the day of judgement comes, the dead will rise and stand before the judge (Rev 20:11-15). Those not in the book of life will be annihilated. In Rev 20:10 (and 14:9-11) John saw a vision of people getting eternally tormented in a lake of fire. In Rev 21:7-8, we learn that the symbol of people getting tormented in a lake of fire actually refers to “the second death.”The post Who Told You That? Guest: Brendan Kennedy, investigative reporter at The Star On Dec. 20, 2023 a guard was assaulted by an inmate at Maplehurst Correctional Complex in Milton, Ontario. The inmate was then immediately removed from the facility. Two days later, jail guards in full riot gear carried out a violent, mass strip search of 192 inmates – none of whom were involved in the initial incident -- in a coordinated, collective punishment that spanned 48 hours.  A judge has called it a gross display of power, something that should never happen in this country. However, the Ministry of the Solicitor General, who oversees jails across the province, has remained relatively silent on the matter.  The incident has gone on to impact dozens of criminal cases across the province, as inmates seek to have their charges stayed or sentences reduced – and in some cases have received just that, as a recourse for having their Charter Rights violated. Brendan Kennedy, investigative reporter with The Star, originally broke this story last year and has been doggedly trying to obtain security footage of exactly what went down at Maplehurst over the course of those 48 hours and what that tell us about the state of our jails. John is a maintenance officer in a club, and he is wondering about tire ply ratings. The manual calls for 4 ply, but they often install 6 ply and he's wondering if that's ok. The hosts all agree that they have subbed in higher ply ratings when supply dictates. Paul's rule of thumb is that he always allows a higher ply, but not lower. That's because the ply rating relates to the weight of the aircraft. Heavier aircraft need higher ply ratings. They get into a discussion on retreads, which can cause issues. They like retreads, but caution that you must ensure they will fit in the wheel well on a retract. Paul worked on a 210 once that caught the skins when retracted.   Doug instructs in Aerostars, and he has worked with a number of clients lately who want him to omit the engine-out portion of the training in order to avoid stress on the engines. There's talk in the Aerostar community about heavy and light cases. Mike said not to worry about the case. Rather, cylinders that rapidly cool are the concern and that's because the piston and cylinder are different metal densities and cool at different rates, which can lead to scuffing. They all agree the training is important, but pulling the power back slowly, rather than cutting the fuel, will help reduce the risk of engine damage. Paul makes the point that flight schools do this in Seminoles all day, and that he doesn't hear of widespread issues. Failure isn't a concern, Mike said. Scuffing is a wear issue. If it's an issue, Paul said his pistons probably look terrible, but he's not going to worry about it. He already borescopes regularly. And Mike said he will run an aux tank dry on a long flight.   Jason has a Comanche 250 with some electrical issues. Throughout the flight the bus voltage will come down. After landing and taxiing in the voltage climbs back up, and rests around 13.8. Recently after takeoff, the low voltage alarm flashed and went to 10.8 while raising the gear. The hosts think it's a voltage regulator issue, where it works when cold but not warm. Paul said he thinks of voltage as an indicator of whether the system is working and the amps as an indicator of how hard it's working. It should be around 13.8 or 14 when working properly. Colleen said she had an electrical issue where her JPI would go offline when she would cycle the gear. Under the panel she found that there was a loose connection on the shunt, causing high resistance. Jason's issue could be at the circuit breakers, voltage bus, voltage regulator, or any number of places. One way to easily troubleshoot is to see if he can find anything hot by running his hands along the wires. Or look for discoloration, Paul said.   Steve writes in asking about oil coolers. During his recent engine overhaul the shop asked if he wanted a congealing or non-congealing oil cooler. Congealing is bad, he thought, so he elected to go with non-congealing. But he lives in Arizona and he's found the engine runs a bit hotter with a higher oil temperature in long climbs. He's wondering if he made a mistake. Non-congealing oil coolers have a solid line running through the middle that passes warm oil through the cooler at all times. Mike thinks it's possible the non-congealing has less cooling capacity because it has less surface area.

A social media influencer from Australia has been accused of poisoning and torturing a 1-year-old girl to solicit thousands of dollars in donations from her followers, Queensland Police announced. The 34-year-old woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was arrested and charged with several serious offenses. According to police, the influencer administered unauthorized prescription medication to the infant between August 6 and October 15 of last year. The relationship between the woman and the child has not been disclosed, but authorities claim the influencer filmed and posted videos of the child in significant distress to her online platforms, using the harrowing footage to collect approximately $60,000 AUD ($37,000 USD) via GoFundMe. “There is no excuse for harming a child, especially not a one-year-old infant who is reliant on others for care and survival,” said Detective Inspector Paul Dalton in a statement. The case came to light on October 15, when the child was hospitalized with severe physical and emotional distress. Medical staff alerted authorities, triggering an investigation. Tests conducted in January revealed that the child had been exposed to unauthorized medications, further substantiating the allegations. In addition to the physical harm caused, the influencer is accused of committing fraud by misusing the donations she raised through false pretenses. GoFundMe is reportedly working to refund the donors who contributed during the campaign. The woman now faces multiple charges, including five counts of administering poison with intent to harm, three counts of preparation to commit crimes with dangerous things, and single counts of torture, making child exploitation material, and fraud. She appeared in court with her attorney, Mathew Cuskelly, who requested protective custody for his client, citing concerns for her safety due to public attention on the case. “There is some publicity with regards to this matter, and I am concerned with regard to the safety of my client,” Cuskelly told the court. The disturbing allegations have shocked the community, highlighting the darker side of social media influence and the potential for exploitation. A child is abducted from the streets by a gang of urban terrorists, subjected to a brutal pistol-whipping captured in a hostage video, yet he miraculously returns home, and there's not a single mention from any news source other than mine? Whether this was staged or not is beside the point; why in the world is no one else reporting on this? If these were white children, this would dominate the news cycles at 5, 6, and 10 PM, with every major social media platform covering it extensively. Even if we assume this was "staged," the coverage wouldn't be out of sympathy but because there would be a public outcry for accountability over such an irresponsible waste of time and resources.   Take, for example, last year's brawl at Shiloh Park in Brandon, where 5-6 boys assaulted one other child. That incident was covered by every local news channel, with the parents even appearing on the news and my radio show. Yet, because this involves black children in Jackson, it seems everyone is content to sweep it under the rug, dismissing it as mere "kids being kids." What in the world is the FBI - Jackson doing about this? A minority child is kidnapped off the street, assaulted with what are presumably stolen firearms, and the video is posted online, yet there's silence. Again, if these were white kids, you'd see the suspects paraded on the evening news at 5, 6, and 10 PM.
