As of this writing, the Nasdaq Composite Index has plunged more than 33% from its November 2021 high. Around half of all stocks listed on the exchange have fallen at least 50% from their rolling highs. So, with seemingly no end in sight to the broader market's plunge, it might feel crazy to own particularly volatile tech stocks right now. But here at 7investing, we recognize that historic drops like these create extraordinary opportunities for investors capable of keeping a level head and focusing on buying and holding shares of the most promising businesses the market has to offer. 7investing Lead Advisor Steve Symington is convinced that many of those high-quality businesses reside in the nascent artificial intelligence and robotics industries. In this episode of the 7investing Podcast, Steve is joined by Lauren Hein, Head of Advisor Relations at ROBO Global. ROBO Global is an index, advisory, and research company dedicated to helping investors capture the best opportunities in the fast-growing robotics, AI, and healthcare technology spaces. Among the topics Steve and Lauren discuss are: Why investors should have tech stocks in their portfolios, even amid a market selloff, The growth opportunity in tech outside of traditional megacaps like Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL), Amazon(NASDAQ: AMZN), and Meta (NASDAQ: META), How industrial robotics stocks fit into the broader robotics and automation ecosystem, Investment criteria and several industrial-focused robotics stocks ROBO Global is following closely, including Fanuc (OTCMKTS: FANUY), Teradyne (NASDAQ: TER), and Cognex (NASDAQ: CGNX). America's health care bill may cost us $4 trillion a year. But at least we're getting more efficient. Technological advances are improving several of health care's most serious issues. Oncology diagnostics are now able to detect earlier-stage cancers before patients even begin showing symptoms. Remote monitoring is taking vital signs of the elderly without them ever needing to step into a hospital. The COVID vaccine is renewing our focus on mRNA, genomic sequencing is unlocking personalized treatments, and spatial biology is quickly capturing the full attention of the medical community. But due to heavy regulations and the specialized nature of the work, isn't the health care industry also notoriously slow to embrace innovation? Will these exciting new technology improvements actually pay off for forward-thinking investors? To help us answer those questions, we've brought in a health care expert. Nina Deka is a senior analyst for ROBO Global, where she contributes to the firm's health care technology index that carries the ticker "HTEC". Nina has spent her career either working in or covering the health care industry, and she is well-versed in the ways of how technology can improve it. With the global robotics and automation space expected to quadruple in size over the next five years, it seems like an obvious theme for ETF investors to be over-allocated to. But with the proliferation of funds offering exposure - there are six funds with the word "Robotics" in their names - choosing the right one can be challenging. ROBO Global was first to market in this space, launching its flagship ROBO Global Robotics and Automation Index ETF (ROBO) all the way back in 2013. ROBO's Director of Research Jeremie Capron joins the podcast and offers an in-depth look at the Robotics space - and the painstaking research process he believes sets ROBO apart from its competitors. Good Morning Listeners, Today is a very special episode. I have Travis Briggs, CEO of Robo Global, and Jeremie Capron, head of Research at Robo Global. They are the first to create an index that tracks robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence. We discuss what comprises the ROBO Global ETF and the team behind it. Below is an excerpt from our conversation: “The original idea came from one of our partners who runs a macro research firm out of Hong Kong. He had written a book called “Too Close for Comfort” and a large component of that was where robotics and automation was headed. The other part of the team of ROBO Global came from the financial background side and thought it would be really interesting and great long term growth opportunity potentially for investors. We looked around and there was no investment products out there that addressed this. So four and a half years ago we created the first index that tracks the publicly traded global world companies that are directly involved with robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence and really try to capture that value chain for investors.” 1:35 – Tell me about your background and what led you to the finance industry and ETFs? 2:40 – What was the inspiration behind robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence? 3:53 – What is the ROBO Global ETF? 7:15 – Can you talk about the 12 subsectors and how you classify this industry? 9:23 – Where are key and emerging markets for this industry and what countries surprised you with a strong Robotics, Automation, and Artificial Intelligence? 12:10 – Which companies and which technologies excite you? 18:12 – If the bull market slows down, how much of this industry will be affected or will it continue to outperform? 20:48 – Is there a particular investment style that you follow? 23:18 – What are your favorite books? Enjoy and thanks for the listen!

We've heard the stories: robots and artificial intelligence are coming to steal our jobs and make us obsolete. Bill Studebaker from ROBO Global has a different outlook. What if automation is going to help us all move faster? We'll talk to Bill about investing in AI in our portfolios and how the new world of work will look in the future as robots help us move the productivity needle even further. In our headline segment today we'll tackle a story about a celebrity who had well over a million dollars stolen from him AND another about students who've left billions of dollars in free money on the table. How do you avoid losing out on free money? What could the celebrity have done better to avoid being ripped off? We'll share tips for both of those scenarios on today's podcast. We'll also throw out the Haven Life Line to Hillary. She's wondering if maybe she can pay her student loans off faster if she puts extra money into a mutual fund instead of directly toward the loan. Is the risk worth the chance of a higher interest rate and then a faster payoff? Then we answer a letter from Alex who wonders if he should continue saving after tax money into his rollover IRA. We'll have LOTS of tips for Alex and anyone else who's thought about trying this strategy.  Special thanks to M1Finance for sponsoring our show!
