On this episode, we interrupted our Autocross month for a quick update on a recent roll cage installation weekend we attended that was hosted by the Three Pedal Mafia and focused on their new to them Nissan 300Z.  We also cover other work that was done during the Cage Party.  We also reviewed our progress on resuscitating the 1974 Capri and getting it back onto the track this season with a new drive train and how our progress goes towards replacing/repairing/upgrading the entire drive train from stock 1974 2.8 liter Capri engine to a more modern Chevy/Buick 3.8 liter design.  Finally, we also touch on preparation for an upcoming welding course that Bill is taking.

... When you're driving on a ceiling. With Ann absent due to non-OLL related work, it was left to Ste and Simon to man the studio. Luckily for Simon's wallet they didn't have to fill the space buying more peripherals for his Switch as they had Leo and Al from Wired Production on as Super-Special Guests. Originally they were on to talk about Leo's history in games, but we rapidly changed to talking about their latest game, GRIP: Combat Racing, once we realised what was literally at stake. GRIP:Combat Racing is a combat racing game. Once again, what comes after the colon explains everything. It's inspired by the classic Playstation game Rollcage and sees cars driving on the ceiling. Oh wait, that's what the GRIP bit stands for. It turns out not everything is explained after the colon. We asked how GRIP improves on Rollcage, what it is like getting the fans involved, and what should be put in a collector's edition. Due to Scants' being away there was a news-shaped hole in the episode, and we proved that three men are definitely not the same as one Ann (and we repeated a story - we should really listen to the episodes that we're not on). Back to the Roots heißt es für alle Freunde des futuristischen Rennspiels, denn Grip entführt euch achtzehn Jahre zurück in die Zeit der ersten Playstation und Windows 9x, zumindest vom Gameplay her. Caged Element Inc. entwickelt mit Grip ein würdiges Remake des orginals Rollcage und holt es ins 21. Jahrhundert, dabei wurde nur der Rückspiegel vergessen, denn das HUD ist optisch dem Konzept der Urfassung angepasst. Die Musik ist so stimmig, dass es schon deshalb Spaß macht zu spielen. Diese stammt aus der Feder von Künstlern wie Kevin Greenlee, welcher schon die musikalische Untermalung diverser anderer Spiele übernahm. Das Waffenarsenal dieses Spiels ist ebenso abwechslungsreich, wie von taktischem Interesse, denn wo lege ich eine Mine, oder welchen Gegner vor mir schalte ich wie aus, sollte man sich schön überlegen, auch wenn man schnell mal den Halt verliert. Abwechslung bieten auch die verschiedenen Spielmodi, wobei das Rennfeeling bei Arenakämpfen überhaupt keine Rolle spielt, hier werden nur Abschüsse gezählt. Das Spiel bietet zur Zeit schon einiges, allerdings ist abzuwarten, ob sich die Entwickler halten können und das Produkt fertig wird, denn das ist das Hauptproblem der Spiele im EA. Außerdem kann man sagen, dass das Spiel im Singleplayer zwar eine Menge Spaß bietet, ebenso wie im Splitscreen, aber der Multiplayer ist leider zu schlecht frequentiert und daher bietet das Spiel einen, wenn auch gewaltigen, aber nur kurzzeitigen Spaß.
