Amin. (Dod).

Ustadz Sofyan Chalid Ruray, Lc. - Sabar Menghadapi Takdir Termasuk Keimanan
“Tarak sakjerone bab mangan kudu dipraktekke sakdurunge kowe dadi sawijining wong sing sabar” ” Karsane Gusti Yesus yakuwi supaya kita nggawa kanca-kanca kita kang ringkih marak ing ngarsaNe “
[Sabar, Semua Ada Waktunya]Sabar. Tenang. Semua ada waktunya.——————- “Between Pause and Purpose”Your twenties are messy.Full of chaos, mistakes, questions, and moments that shape who you are becoming. This METANOIA album captures that journey—learning when to pause, when to keep going, and how to find meaning in the middle of it all.A soundtrack for the in-between phase of life.Available every Friday, only on Spotify.METANOIAHappy listening ✨

Sabar Bonda, the Marathi film that won a prestigious honour at Sundance last year, is either a poetic exploration of the road not taken or a pretentious try-hard desperate to feel important. We discuss the film's unconventional dramatic choices, the effects of its stillness, and the lacklustre quality of the central performances. We also debate its performative nature and wonder how it turned out to be so divisive.—Hosted by Akhil Arora and Rohan Naahar, The Long Take is fully bootstrapped.

Amin. (Dod).
August and September were the lucky months for some Indian cinephiles who crave an alternate form of cinema (i.e., indie) to the mainstream one they have to endure for the rest of the time in cinemas. In this episode, Sanjeet, Amartya, Cris & Dhruv (in a not-so-special appearance) catch up to 4 of these films that released in limited cinemas between these two months.Since Neeraj Ghaywan's "Homebound" is the most high-profile of these releases (it is India's submission to the Academy Awards for Best International Feature), we spend the most time (occasionally delving into spoilers) debating the value (or lack thereof) of its indie-ness.The rest of the episode involves Sanjeet promoting Raam Reddy's indescribably beautiful "Jugnuma," Amartya and Cris trying -- unsuccessfully -- to convince Sanjeet to watch the theoretically sound but undeveloped "Humans in the Loop," and all three of them lavishing a lot of praise on Rohan Parashuram Kanawade's tender "Sabar Bonda."Note: We apologize for the audio leak issues that occurred during the first part of the episode. We only noticed this after the "Homebound" discussion was over, so the second half sounds cleaner than the first. Though we like to think that Dhruv's dislike of "Homebound" is what will make people fast-forward through this part of the episode, and not the audio quality.TIME CODESIntroduction - [00:00:00 - 00:02:28]"Homebound" - [00:02:28 - 01:08:22]"Sabar Bonda" - [01:08:22 - 01:38:18]"Humans in the Loop" - [01:38:18 - 01:54:06]"Jugnuma" - [01:54:06 - 02:05:03]Indie Distribution & Exhibition - [02:05:03 - 02:19:08]Follow our Instagram page: https://instagram.com/queenisdead.filmpodcast.QID LINKTREE: https://linktr.ee/queenisdead.Follow us on Instagram at:Sanjeet: https://www.instagram.com/pixel_baba/Amartya: https://www.instagram.com/amartya25/.Dhruv: https://www.instagram.com/terminalcinema/Cris: https://www.instagram.com/prdscris/Follow us on Letterboxd at:Sanjeet: https://letterboxd.com/Sanjeet_Singh/Amartya: https://letterboxd.com/amartya/.Dhruv: https://letterboxd.com/aterminalcinema/Cris: https://letterboxd.com/crislim/All Audio Excerpts have been used under the “Fair Use Provisions” of the Indian Copyright Act.

Gladiators in the Colosseum. Sideshow performers. Reality television. We've always loved to gawk at the misery or majesty of others. But this week, we ask the question: What's it like when the tables are turned and all eyes are on you? Prologue: Ira talks to Joel Gold, a psychologist and author, about a strangely common delusion known as the "Truman Show Delusion," in which patients believe that they are being filmed, 24/7, for a national reality television program. (6 minutes)Act One: Producer Stephanie Foo speaks to Nasubi, a Japanese comedian who, in the 90s, just wanted a little bit of fame. So he was thrilled when he won an opportunity to have his own segment on a Japanese reality TV show. Until he found out the premise: he had to sit in an empty apartment with no food, clothes or contact with the outside world, enter sweepstakes from magazines… and hope that he won enough sustenance to survive. (23 minutes)Act Two: Writer Ariel Sabar tells the story of Roger Barker, a psychologist who believed that humans should be studied outside the lab. So Barker dispatched an army of graduate students to follow the children of Oskaloosa, Kansas, and write down every single thing they did. Sabar wrote a book - a Kindle Single - about Roger Barker, called "The Outsider." (8 1/2 minutes)Act Three: Charlie Brill and Mitzi McCall were a comedy duo back in the mid-1960s, playing clubs around Los Angeles, when their agent called to tell them he'd landed them the gig of a lifetime: They were going to be on The Ed Sullivan Show. The only problem was that their performance was a total fiasco, for a bunch of reasons, including one they never saw coming. David Segal reports.
