It’s one of the greatest rock voices of all time: alternately melodic, raw, sweet and supercharged while also extremely versatile and infused with different characters. Paul McCartney’s lead, harmony and backing vocals have graced tender ballads, balls-to-the-walls rockers and almost everything else in between. But how did his talents in that regard develop and expand down the years? What has caused the vocal deterioration: insufficient technique, too much weed, old age or undisclosed health issues? And what, if anything, can be done about it? The answers to the last two questions—provided in our interview with legendary voice teacher to the stars Seth Riggs and his wife/vocal technician Margareta—may surprise you. Welcome to the Total Body Voice, the program designed specifically for podcasters, public speakers, executives, and anyone who expects more from their voice, more than the average person.Just like in singing, while there are a few rare exceptional voices that never require training, the vast majority of singers had to train and exercise. The fact is, any high-performance activity takes training and exercise, and speaking is no exception. There is a way to speak that is dull, strained, and lifeless. And there is a way to speak that is free, resonant, deep, and powerful. The difference isn’t so much talent, as technique. My name is Paul Mikhaylenko, I’m a vocal coach and I’ve spent over a decade training under some of the best coaches in LA, including even Seth Riggs, who taught Prince, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Madonna, and many others.I’m about to show you how to develop a speaking voice that sounds attractive, trustworthy, is pleasant to listen to, and lasts a lifetime. Whether you like it or not, people will judge you by the sound of your voice, and I’m here, to help you take advantage of that.Join our community, get full video courses, and 1-1 training at www.totalbodyvoice.com

You I'm so excited to share this episode with you. Eric Dodge is an amazing musician, terrific speaker, and really wonderful human being. I met him several years ago at a national speaker's association event, and we've been friends ever since. Why Not Today is one of his best songs, but it isn't just a song, it's Eric's mantra. His way of being. He explains why this means so much to him, and how we can all use that to soar beyond our wildest dreams. Eric Dodge's music is what makes him famous, but his heart is something you'll notice as soon as you listen to him. And as a bonus, just for us, he performs one of his songs. You won't want to miss this episode! For more from Eric, visit http://EricDodge.com Why Not Today?!? More about Eric Dodge Eric Dodge discovered his passion for singing in the most heartfelt of ways. While always having a strong love for music, his greatest fear was to share that passion publicly. On September 11th, 2001, as our great country suffered a terrorist attack, Eric was on a cruise ship outside of Mexico. That fateful day was when Eric made his decision to no longer be afraid. He stepped up to the microphone aboard the ship to share his voice and love of music. He was no longer willing to let his fear keep him from what was truly his gift to the world. He opened up his heart and sang Garth Brooks’ song “The Dance”. After his performance, a passenger approached him and encouraged him to pursue a singing career. Just as many others were changed by the events of 9/11, Eric took her words to heart and decided to follow his heart into the world of country music. Guest: CMT Recording Artist Emma Jacob. Emma Mae Jacob grew up in Costa Mesa, Calif., and as a child, she enjoyed listening to Aretha Franklin and Patsy Cline. She took vocal lessons from the legendary Seth Riggs -- she once ran into Ray Charles at a lesson -- and earned a spot as first soprano in the Pacific Symphony Children's Choir. At age 11, she sang a Franklin song, "You're All I Need to Get By," on Showtime at the Apollo and received a standing ovation. The family was living in Colfax, Calif., when Jacob and her parents took over the ownership of a local theatre owned by Jacob's grandfather. Music producer Paul Worley heard her perform there and encouraged her to move to Nashville. Worley also pitched a song that would become the teenager's first single, "What If We Fly," included on her debut album, Breaking All the Rules, in 2008.
