Veteran space industry insider Jim Cantrell, author of "Breaking All The Rules: The Inside Story of the New Space Race", got into the space business rather by accident. "I really never wanted to be in the space business when I was young." Jim Cantrell A flier posted at his college got the self-proclaimed southern California gear head involved in a project to design a Mars rover, which his team won. From there, Jim has been an engineer for NASA and the French Space Agency CNES, traveling the world working on space projects. Then, he was contacted by Elon Musk about joining a little company called SpaceX. He took the gig. In "Breaking All the Rules", Cantrell chronicles his career in the space industry through his time with SpaceX, and on the podcast, he tells Ex Terra why he left the world's most recognizable commercial space company to strike out on his own. Through the lens of a space entrepreneur, Cantrell foresees a "bloodbath" coming in the not-too-distant future leading to the failure of multiple new space companies, citing Virgin Orbit as an example. "The money that comes from investors, particularly these large venture funds, as really the equivalent of government money without the strings attached to it," Cantrell said. "And the fact is there are different strings attached to it, and the expect a profit." Cantrell still predicts that SpaceX will be successful in establishing a human presence on Mars. Breaking All The Rules Availability "Breaking All the Rules" is available on Amazon in both printed and e-book formats, and on jimcantrell.com, where autographed copies are available. How does what happens in space affect your everyday life? The Ex Terra podcast is dedicated to introducing you to many of the interesting people involved in the commercial space industry, and taking you behind the scenes with many of the companies making significant contributions to the new space economy. The podcast is available on Anchor, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Audible, Breaker, Overcast, Pocketcasts and Radio Public.

PATRICIA FIELD,  is a native New Yorker and one of fashion's greatest visionaries whose multi-faceted career has spanned more than five decades. Her distinctive approach to dressing is evident through her work as a costume designer. Field single handedly changed the way women dress through the HBO series Sex and the City  and it's feature films. For her work on SATC Field won an Emmy Award and received five nominations for Best Costume Design. Field also received an Academy Award nomination for the film, The Devil Wears Prada  as well as continued recognition for her work on television series such as Ugly Betty, Hope & Faith, and most recently for the hit Netflix series, Emily in Paris.Field is also a seasoned retailer, establishing her eponymous boutique in New York City in 1966, which remained a fashion landmark for 50 years. In 2016 Field sold her iconic retail property and launched a new concept, ARTFASHION.  Born out of her long personal ties to New York art community legends like Keith Haring and Basquiat, ARTFASHION now sees Field as curator, working with an impressive group of today's talented visual artists who, under Field's guidance, have applied their unique aesthetics to hand painted one-of-a-kind clothing. In February 2023, Patricia published her memoir, Pat in the City: My Life of Fashion, Style, and Breaking All the Rules, where she chronicles everything from love, passion, culture, and the phenomenon that occurs when all three intersect with art.Pat Field on instagramSupport the showRecorded at The Newsstand Studio at 1 Rockefeller Plaza in NYC. You're pulling the groceries in your car, just doing what you've always done, and all of a sudden your back spasms up. Or perhaps you've reached into the back seat of your car from the front seat and you feel like a knife just shot through your chest or maybe your back. Maybe you've been standing in line, someone calls your name, and when you turn you get a searing pain through the front of your hips, perhaps your hip flexor. It happens. Versions of that have happened to me in the past, so I am not shaking my finger at you if this has happened to you. Today's episode goes describes what is happening when this happens, and how to prevent tweaks like that in the future. Anytime we have five Tuesdays in a month, I try to bring an extra bonus conversation that adds a different element to our typical topics. Today's conversation with Dr. Teresa Cody illuminates all the different ways we can use PRP to help heal our bodies. We discuss platelet rich plasma, the studies surrounding it, her own anecdotal evidence, and my personal experience with PRP.Dr. Teresa Cody graduated with her Doctor of Dental surgery from the Universit of Texas Dental School in 1992. Through her years practicing dentistry she learned about the powerful potential of Platelet Rich Plasma therapy to promote healing in bone graft surgery. She's now the owner of C and C Wellness Center in Sugar Land and the astonishing improvements in her clients' health inspired her to write her book You Healing You.One note before we jump in: this is a bit of a fringe conversation. PRP is not FDA approved. I'm enormously cautious and protective about the science-based conversations I have on this show because I never ever want to lead anyone astray, but once you learn more about the process I think you'll understand why I'm comfortable with bringing it to you here.We discuss:The serendipitous way she became passionate about PRP (that involved her hairdresser!)PRP studies and results that include Bell's Palsy, osteoarthritis, and tendon and ligament healingHow plasma is the director of healingAnecdotal stories from her own practice of how PRP healed her patientsWhy we can't heal ourselves if all we are doing is taking our blood and putting our own plasma back inWho PRP is for and not forConnect with Dr. CodyCandCWellness.comInstagram: @cc.wellnessFacebook: C and C WellnessYouTubePurchase You Healing YouFind a provider near you Connect with Amy: GracedHealth.comJoin the Graced Health community on Facebook! If you've my book Your Worthy body, you met my friend Camisha Broussard in Chapter 4 entitled She has THE Perfect Body. In that chapter I dig into body image differences in Black women and white women. I had enormous help from Camisha in writing this chapter and I truly do call it “our” chapter. One of the journeys Camisha and I have taken together is that of writing our first book. Camisha's memoir, Daddy Issues, released about a month ago and I wanted to bring her on to share her experience of having an absent father. We talk about this some, but Daddy Issues is not a list of grievances against her father, but rather a book about loving herself by not hating her father. We talk about her relationship with her dad, her mom, whom I just fell in love with, and herself as she navigates having an absent father who chose to be that way. She offers some powerful stories and lessons we can all learn from regardless of our own experiences. We discuss:Camisha's broken relationship with her fatherThe strength of her mother and her influenceThe impact of a father choosing to be absentHer message of hope and encouragement for those who have had a father choose to not be involvedPurchase your copy of Daddy Issues Listen to my first episode with Camisha here.Connect with Camishawww.MishasThyme.comInstagram: @MishasThymeFacebook: Mishas ThymeTwitter: @MishasThymeYouTube: MishasThymeConnect with Amy: GracedHealth.comJoin the Graced Health community on Facebook! Sometimes we get so wrapped up in caring for others that we don't make time to care for ourselves well. Amy Connell shares how God has helped her to redefine health and body image from His perspective. "I've heard one thing over and over from women: 'I'm so busy taking care of everybody else--my job, kids, husband. I'm doing the best that I can to take care of myself but I look around and I feel like what I'm doing is not enough.' My mission is helping you to find balance and freedom, to empower your body so you can take care of it and do the things God has called you to do." --Amy Connell Bio: Amy Connell is an NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach, and imperfect eater.
