For nearly three decades, Jerry Haas has been the steady hand behind one of the most consistent programs in college golf. Since taking over at Wake Forest in 1997, Haas has guided the Demon Deacons to a nation-leading 48 NCAA Championship appearances, more than 40 tournament victories, and a 2022 ACC Championship — building a program that has become a fixture on the national stage. But before he was building a dynasty on the sideline, Jerry Haas was building his own game inside one of golf's most storied families. A two-time Illinois Amateur champion, All-American at Wake Forest, and PGA Tour winner, Haas comes from a lineage that includes his brother Jay — an 18-time PGA Tour winner — and his nephew Bill Haas, a FedEx Cup champion who also happened to play for him at Wake Forest. In this episode, Jerry opens up about what it was like growing up around that kind of golf pedigree, the moment he decided to trade the Tour for the sideline, and how he's kept Wake Forest golf relevant through three decades of change — from scholarship rules to NIL to the transfer portal. We talk about what he actually looks for in a recruit beyond a swing or a scoring average and the stories — not the headlines — that he says tell you everything about what this game teaches young people. There's 12 guys on the team and you're like washing their feet. He talks about how he got there, what the Lord did along the way, and what it looks like to use a platform like his to live out his faith every single day.Topics covered:- Grant Horvat, the creme de la creme YouTube golf sensation, at the very top of the game- I played four years of college golf and I realized really quickly that the pro route was not what I wanted to do- It's a dream job. It doesn't get much better than going out there and filming golf videos for a living. It doesn't feel real.- Leaving Good Good was a very violent time in the YouTube golf space. I remember getting death threats and just terrible thousands of messages a day.- That's the closest I ever felt to God. It was just very late nights and the magnitude of this decision felt so big.- If you're a Christian, God is going to use whatever situation or circumstance you are in to make you more like Jesus- I remember a kid coming up to me on the range reciting everything we said in these videos word for word. And I'm thinking what about the hundreds of thousands of other kids out there absorbing this?- That was a moment where I had to be like, what is my purpose in this industry and how do I want to impact people?- The Lord was always tugging at me. I need to take this serious.- I went to chapel and then I would go out on Sunday and party. I felt like I was living two lives.- I made the decision in Dallas. I went and got baptized and I was like, I am all in.- It doesn't get easier once you make that decision. It only gets harder. It only requires more discipline.- My biggest goal with our channel is to make sure that families can sit down in their living room all together and watch the videos- Having to turn down brands that don't align with our goal is one of the hardest things- Proverbs 18:1: whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire. He breaks out against all sound judgment.- I don't talk a ton about my faith on videos but when you meet people in real life every other person wanted to talk about the faith conversation. Christians will support you really hard. They are their fans for life.- Just be a good person is something I hear a lot. But the definition of good across a thousand people changes like that. If we don't have a truth and a set of standards we are living by, what are we doing?- Jeremiah 29:11: for I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope- When things are going great it is so easy to say I did this on my own. But when things are going real bad and you feel like you don't know how you are going to get out of this, that is when you lean on the Lord- What do you have that you did not receive? Left. And it has not returned. And this was 1985.- Winning the 1993 Masters on Easter Sunday: I am the only guy in Butler Cabin to mention Jesus twice, once in a very bad way- Money or victories are short lived. Do you ever wonder what the caddies get up to when the cameras stop rolling and the PGA Tour players head to the clubhouse? In this live episode from the RBC Canadian Open, host Colin Weston steps inside the Caddie Lounge (powered by [Levelwear](www.levelwear.com)) to uncover the gritty reality of life on the bag with 28-year tour veteran Don “Double D” Donatello. From carrying 42-pound golf bags up the equivalent of 60 flights of stairs a round to a dramatic "I quit" moment on the 4th hole, Don shares the wild, unfiltered stories of 650+ tournaments and why this lounge is a game-changer for professional caddies. Key takeaways in this episode with Don that you will discover: The Harsh Math of Caddie Economics: Don breaks down the financial gamble of being a looper - the low base salary, paying your own travel expenses, and how missing the cut means earning $0 for a week's work. The Physical Toll of Looping: It's not just walking. Don reveals the insane fitness stats: 18,000+ steps and 30-60 flights of stairs per day, all while balancing a 42-pound bag on uneven terrain. How the Caddie Lounge Was Born: Learn how a simple conversation over a Levelwear hat turned into a tour-wide movement, giving caddies their own space with massage therapists, video games, and the dignity they've deserved for years. The Caddie Lounge at The RBC Canadian Open is Levelwear's way of supporting their "Who's With You?" campaign to provide PGA Tour caddies with a space to unwind, rejuvenate and hang out with their fellow loopers. The Caddie Lounge is now at over 10 PGA Tour stops annually. Three Inspiring Quotes from Don Donatello On the old days vs. now: "28 years ago, I only got paid $400 a week. You drove in a car and slept three to a room. One guy would sleep on the floor and you had to stand outside in the rain. Now, thanks to Levelwear, we feel like we're being treated like the players." On the secret to a long career: "Certainty out here is very important as a caddie. A lot of mistakes these PGA Tour players make aren't because they not good - it's because they're uncertain. Knowing when to speak and when not to is a very fragile thing." On saving Webb Simpson's career: "He had four holes to play to keep his card. I changed his read on two putts. He made both. He shot 63 to keep his card. He said, 'Those were some of the greatest reads ever!'" In this episode, Webb Simpson, Ben Crane, and William Kane unpack Matthew 5:31–32 and Jesus' teaching on marriage and divorce from the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus' words remind us that because of where marriage comes from and what it is, disciples of Jesus are called to hold marriage in the highest regard. Divorce, according to Jesus' teaching, should be a last-ditch option, allowable only under the circumstances of adultery or abandonment.Given where marriage came from and what God intends for it, it's impossible to have too high a view of marriage. Marriage is designed to be an unbreakable bond between one man and one woman, all in order to point the watching world to Jesus Christ. As a result, disciples of Jesus should do whatever we can to preserve our marriages. If you're looking for biblical teaching on Matthew 5, the Sermon on the Mount, Christian marriage, divorce in the Bible, and discipleship, this episode walks carefully through Jesus' words and what they mean for followers of Christ today.Follow us on socials!Bible Caddie on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/biblecaddieTikTok:https://www.tiktok.com/@biblecaddieX/Twitter:https://x.com/biblecaddieGet connected!Shop Bible Caddie gear:https://biblecaddie.com/pro-shop/Start a Featured Group:https://biblecaddie.com/start-a-group/

He was pretty sure he'd missed a couple of obvious ones, so we had a competition for the Wolfpack to suggest ones Nick had missed. And a great prize.....$250 bucks to spend on the Golf Clearance Outlet, online or instore, and a teams entry (you and a friend) into the Golfies 2-person Ambrose tournament which starts in September, and if you win 8 matches you win a trip to Thailand worth 25 grand....!!!!Lots of suggestions on shots Nick overlooked. Shots from Seve, Bubba, Corey Pavin, Geoff Ogilvy, Paul Lawrie, Webb Simpson, Y E Yang, Adam Scott, Cam Smith and Jerry Pate.Plenty of good suggestions, some Nick and Mark agreed with, some they didn't - but one shot stood out above the others for Nick, and he chose that one to go into his Top 5 (which meant he had to axe one). As Yasir Al-Rumyyan moves ever closer to controlling professional golf, Geoff Shacklford and Lawrence Donegan discuss The Athletic's sensational exclusive portraying Mr LIV Golf as an alleged participant in yet more sinister behaviour by the Saudi Crown Prince. In other news, our hosts assess the PGA Tour's downward spiral, with gloomy news being delivered from the likes of Webb Simpson. There's also golf - Hawaii! Dubai! -and a whole lot more. We also assess the contributions of Keith Pelley and Martin Slumbers as they get ready to leave the stage. A packed show, hence it's 90 minutes long.

Andy and Brendan are back for a very much *not* Victory Monday episode during the holiday in the States. They discuss the Browns blowout playoff loss, the Packers success, and the Bulls fans booing a widow. They eventually get to Grayson Murray's win at the Sony, but not before first addressing a complete sham of a free drop given to Carl Yuan, who was in contention at the wire. Elsewhere on Sony, Grayson's “redemption”, Ben An and Keegan's finishes, and Will Zalatoris alarm are all discussed. Over in Dubai, they chat about Ken Weyand's exemption and an all-time spread of 72 shots worse than first place. How did he get in the field? Should we feel bad for him? Rory booting away a season-opening win is also covered and if it means anything going forward. They close with news that Caleb Surratt seems like he's going to LIV, Jay Monahan finally has a phone conversation with Yasir, and Webb Simpson delivers some wide-ranging thoughts on the state of negotiations and the PGA Tour board.

In this week episode I interview my good friend legendary golf instructor Jim McLean, who is one of the most prolific golf instructors of the last 30 years. He is known for coining the phrase “X-Factor”, observing that the greater the differential between the hips and shoulders at the top of the swing, the more power the golfer can create. He pioneered the use of video for golf instruction and was one of the first adopters of radar technology used in swing analysis tools like TrackMan. He is also authored and sold over 15 different books and videos, and taught some of the greatest golfers of our generation. Including, Sergio Garcia, Curtis Strange, Gary Player, Bernard Langer, Al Geiberger, US Open champions Liselotte Neumann, Jane Geddes, Lauri Merten, Ben Crenshaw, Tom Kite, Webb Simpson, and Hal Sutton to just name a few. Actually, its over 100 PGA tour players but who is counting.Jim McLean is CEO of the Jim McLean Golf School, which operates from eight locations.Support the show

USGA announces ball rollback, the PGA Tour's response, and LIV trademark blocked

This Wednesday episode comes on the heels of the USGA and R&A announcing a “Model Local Rule” that would rollback the golf ball some 20 yards for elite male competition. Andy and Brendan talk at length about the announcement, how it will impact the highest levels of the game, what was missing from it, and if it went far enough in combating the distance problem. They discuss the backlash and reaction to it from OEMs like Titliest, players those companies pay like Webb Simpson, and the PGA Tour's rather toothless show of support in its statement. That triggers a world of hypotheticals wherein the Tour might play with the suped-up stuff while the majors play a different, realer golf. After that rollback chat, they hit on shhhedule for the week, make some picks for the preeminent gambling pod, and hit on the news of LIV's trademark claim being blocked by the Miami nightclub. Also, is there a worse sports weekend to have a LIV event than opposite the first and second rounds of the NCAA tournament?
