The 2024 Volkswagen Jetta GLI is the enthusiasts' Jetta.  It's a compact four-door sedan that seats five.  Aka the Golf GTI with a trunk. GLI now includes Volkswagen's IQ.Drive driver assistance technology on all automatic transmission models.  And that's now standard.  Also new for the 2024 Volkswagen Jetta GLI is a nicety on the Autobahn models.  Because they now come with a heated steering wheel standard. 228 hp & 258 lb-ft of torque Trims And Prices - 2024 VW Jetta GLI For 2024 the VW Jetta GLI is coming in two different trims.  You have the option of the Autobahn or the 40th Anniversary Edition. 2024 VW Jetta GLI Trims & Starting MSRPs: 40th Anniversary Edition $28,085 Autobahn $31,785 It's worth noting that the 40th Anniversary Edition GLI costs slightly less than the top-of-the-line non-GLI Jetta for 2024. Engine, Transmissions & MPG Under the hood is where you'll find a big differentiator between the Jetta and Jetta GLI. Because the GLI comes with a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder with 16 valves.  It's turbocharged and intercooled.  Putting out 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.  That's a big step up from its more tame sibling.  The non-GLI Jetta offers a 1.5L 4-cylinder putting out 158 hp with 184 lb-ft of torque. GLI comes only in front-wheel drive.  But automatic or manual transmission is being offered on both GLI trims for 2024.  The manual transmission is standard equipment on both trim options.  And the automatic transmission upgrades to a seven-speed dual-clutch. MPG with the manual is being estimated at 24/35/28 - city/highway/combined.  And with automatic transmission GLI's estimated MPG bumps up to 26/36/30 for the same. 7-speed automatic or 6-speed manual trans 2024 Volkswagen Jetta GLI - What Does It Look Like? The Volkswagen Jetta GLI continues its athletic and sporty appearance.   Immediately recognizable are the red GLI badging and accents.  But if you miss the VW badge, you might easily mistake GLI for an Audi.  And being the brand's luxury brethren, that makes sense. Curiously Volkswagen groups the GLI and Jetta in the materials it shares with the automotive press.  However, the engine, suspension and, appearance are all different when comparing the two.  Even the exterior dimensions differ - albeit slightly. Controlling both trims for 2024 is a leather-wrapped steering wheel.  The automatic transmission, of course, includes paddle shifters for taking control of the RPMs. Also coming with GLI is either an aluminum or leather gearshift knob.  Aluminum comes with the standard manual transmission.  And leather comes with the manual trans. Heated front seats come on both trims.  But if you want them ventilated as well then you have to go with the Autobahn trim.

So throughout this article, we're just talking about the Jetta.  And for 2024 Volkswagen offers it in 4 trim configurations. 2024 VW Jetta Trims & Starting MSRPs: S $21,435 Sport $22,585 SE $24,875 SEL $28,825 Engine, Transmissions & MPG For 2024 VW's Jetta keeps its 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.  Intercooled and with 16 valves it's delivering 158 horsepower with 184 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is the only way Jetta comes.  But you have your choice of manual or automatic transmission.  Which, for many drivers, just the idea of three-pedal driving delivers a sense of enjoyment.  Even if you decide to go with the automatic trans. The manual transmission option is a 6-speed.  While the more commonly accessed automatic trans is providing eight gears. Either way, Jetta delivers solid fuel economy.  Depending on your trim and transmission configuration.  Jetta is rated, at the high end, of using 29 miles per gallon in the city.  (That's with a manual transmission, automatic actually rates better at 30 mpg.)  Then in the best scenario, Jetta sips as little as 41 mpg on the highway.  Combined it's between 33 and 34 mpg. 2024 Volkswagen Jetta - What's It Look Like? Engine, Transmissions & MPG Volkswagen is keeping the 2024 Tiguan straightforward in the powertrain department.  Offering a single engine with two optional drives.  It's a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder.  Turbocharged with 16 valves it puts out 184 horsepower with 221 pound-feet of torque. The same spirited eight-speed automatic transmission is included.  But your drive options are two-fold.  There's front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.  And in Volkswagen-speak AWD is referred to as 4Motion. Overall Tiguan brings solid fuel economy.  With slight variations depending on your trim and drivetrain.  Combined fuel economy comes in between 24 to 27 mpg.  City gas mileage is estimated at 22 to 24 mpg.  And highway 29 to 31 mpg.  So the entire 202 4 VW Tiguan trim lineup mpg is estimated between 22 and 31 mpg. The Volkswagen Golf GTI is rolling into 2023 with a new trim configuration. Thats among other improvements over model year 2022.  When the hot hatch received it's most recent all-new status. And the four-door 5-seat continues impressing drivers and automotive writers alike. ⇒ iDSC is driven by Ontario Volkswagen 2023 Volkswagen Golf GTI Top-3: Drive Value Styling New For 2023 Volkswagen Golf GTI So the biggest item on the 'what's new' list is another trim option. But the European carmaker is holding back details.  Because all VW is telling us is the name.  And that it slots between the base-model S and the mid-level SE trims. Other newness for the 2023 VW GTI include LED headlights and foglights.  Plus active cornering lights. 40th Annivesary Edition Trim VW says only 1,500 40th Anniversary Editions will be available in the United States. Leaving you the option of transmissions.  Either a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic.  Or a six-speed manual transmission. For the hot hatch.  My purist pick is always the manual.  But the automatic has paddle shifters.  So when you're commuting or stuck in traffic, you're shaking hands a lot less. Plus the automatic gives you better fuel economy. 2023 VW GTI MPG: Manual 23/27/32 Automatic 24/28/34 *City/combined/highway What's The 2023 Volkswagen Golf GTI Look Like? Other than the 40th Anniversary Edition, which we're not yet sure of, there's little change for 2023. Because even in Volkswagen's press release materials.  The company is stating "minor cosmetic changes."  And saying as much without specificying what those are!? Still, the GTI remains, without question, VW's hothatch.  Newer, bolder, more athletic.  With it's iconic red accents and GTI badging.  She's a beauty.  In her 2023 attire. The S and SE trimes come with 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels while the top of the line Autobahn delivers 19-inch alloys. Exterior dimensions: Wheelbase 103.6 Length 168.8 Height 57.6 Width 70.4 Track: Front 60.4 Rear 59.6 Ground clearance 4.7 *All inches. Curbweight for the 2023 VW Golf GTI depends on the transmission.  For manual trans, it weighs 3,133.  And for automatic, it comes in at 3,206. 241 hp / 273 lb-ft of torque Inside The 2023 VW Golf GTI And inside Golf GTI remains the same as model year 2022 too. So your option is all-wheel-drive or two-wheel drive.  And the two-wheel option means your getting a front-wheel drive.  Being big fans of rear-wheel drive, that's one thing we'd love to see change. The fuel economy for the 2022 Chevy Traverse is solid.  Staying consistent throughout the trim options. Plus Traverse seats up to eight passengers.

The 2022 Chevrolet Suburban makes me want a bigger garage. Because it's a bigger than full-size SUV.  Great for large families and one of the largest non-commercial vehicles on the road. it's huge inside, versatile, and available with almost every conceivable option.  Either from the factory or aftermarket. For example, it's hard to imagine a motorcade that doesn't include at least one Suburban. And that trans is both smooth shifting and efficient.  Of course, you do have the decision of two-wheel or four-wheel drive. But considering the four-wheel drive option seems the way to go.  Because there's not much difference in fuel economy. The 2022 Volkswagen Arteon receives updates in all the right places. In fact, the midsize flagship sedan comes this/close to its luxury sibling Audi.  And that's in many areas. UVW- Unloaded vehicle weight or Base weight- may sometimes include built in propane weight b. CCC – Cargo capacity weight- weight of anything you will put into the unit from dishes to linens, to chairs, cabinets, crafts, food, your water, propane, batteries, etc. With Motor homes this also includes passengers and pets c. GVW- Gross Vehicle weight The total weight of your vehicle plus cargo d. Tongue weight or hitch weight- The pressure on your vehicle. This has to do with how much weight you can put into or onto your tow vehicle. Payload capacity of your truck in case of 5th wheel. 2. Wheelbase of your tow vehicle a. Measure center of front wheel to center of rear wheels b. Rule- 110 inch wheel base can pull up to 20 foot trailer. One more foot for every 4 inches above 110. c. Backward under 110 then it's 5.25 inches. (I go 6 inches) so for 104 inch wheel base 19 foot max. For 98 inch wheel base then 18 foot. With that in mind, it makes sense that Chevrolet pays extra-special attention to the 5-seat Equinox and its upgrades. But the favorite tech enhancement that most road warriors will appreciate is the addition of wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capability. 1.5L Turbocharged Inline 4-cylinder Trims And MSRPs For 2022 Chevy Equinox comes in four optional trim configurations.  With the starting manufacturers suggested retail price is $25,800. LS $25,800 LT $26,900 RS $30,100 Premier $31,000 Engine, Transmissions, And MPG There is a bit of engine news or 2022.  And that is that your choice of engines got much easier.  Because Chevy is offering only one this year. Engine However, it's an enthusiastic 1.5-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder Ecotec engine.  Plus that power plant delivers 170 horsepower with 203 pound-feet of torque. Transmission Likewise, there's a single transmission option, but with a two or all-wheel drive decision to make. So the trans is a six-speed automatic.  It pairs nicely with the motor and keeps the driving experience confident and enjoyable. And Equinox is more of a crossover than an SUV.  This is evidenced in the transmission area with the two-wheel-drive option being front-wheel drive rather than the power coming from the rear wheels. Fuel Economy As expected, with the only differences being FWD and AWD the estimated fuel economy is quite similar. Specifically, the FWD will give you 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.  Whereas the AWD is estimated to deliver 25 mpg in the city and 30 out on the open road. 183.1-inches long + 72.6" wide What's The '22 Chevy Equinox Look Like? With this refresh, the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox looks sportier for sure.  But also it appears a little wider and bolder. And this brings the overall styling of the compact SUV more in line with the appearance of its brethren.  Specifically, the Trailblazer and Blazer, both of which returned to Chevy's lineup in recent years. And upon their return, they both ushered in the more sleek and sporty look that the 2022 Equinox represents. We have done quite a few projects on it and of course, we filmed them for you. Harley is making some "special" models. Although they are not a "CVO" model, they are somewhat of a "one off" bike and they have some special things about them. Harley seems to be doing this with other models too. Our 2016 Dyna Low Rider S came stock with the Screamin’ Eagle Twin Cam 110 engine (1,801 cc) on this small frame bike. And she really rips! It also came stock with cruise control and throttle by wire. It has a cable clutch and not hydraulic clutch, which we would have preferred.  It also comes with upgraded suspension, the six-speed transmission, ABS brakes, and dual front disc brakes.  We put Vance & Hines Short Shots Staggered exhaust and we tuned the electronic fuel injection (EFI) using a Vance and Hines Fuel Pak 3. The bike came with a stage one Screamin Eagle air intake. I am really digging riding this bike now that we have it all setup! I read your information and there is something that you should know. I'm a retired Police Officer from York Region and have had bikes for 40 odd years. I have about 14 now.  In August of this year I purchased a new Harley Ultra Limited Low. When I picked up my new bike, they showed my how the security system works and taking their advise, I changed the code. Safe and secure!  In October I had my bike in the garage and attempted to start it. It would not start and a member came up to trailer it to the dealership. This gentleman made several attempts to start the bike without any luck. He asked me for my security code and I told him I had forgotten it. He then told me that he could override my code and start the bike.   I was curious and again asked him how he could override my security code. He told me that the dealership people have the knowledge to do this override! Interesting. So basically dealership employees could steal my bike! Turns out there was a module in the starter circuit that burnt out. They fixed it the next day..good service! Lurch has a plan to trade in his 2008 Harley Street Glide for a 2015 Harley Road Glide Special. Although I have always personally liked the look of the batwing style fairing on the Street Glide models, Harley has re-designed the shark nose fairing on the 2015 Road Glide models and I like the new look much better. Lurch and his 2015 Road Glide Lurch is 6 foot 6 inches tall, so because of the fixed fairing (does not turn with the handlebars) we will be able to install 13" ape handlebars and push them forward farther. This will give Lurch a more stretched out and comfortable riding position. Further Information: VIDEO & BLOG-In this video I had some time with a 2015 Harley Davidson Road Glide in what Harley is calling "mysterious red sunglo" & it is beautiful! Harley took 2014 off on producing the Road Glide, so I was excited to check this bike out! I shot some awesome video and photographed the bike. There is also the Road Glide Special for 2015, which is essentially the same bike, but comes with some extra goodies. The special comes standard with the upgraded larger 6.5 inch touch screen version of the new "Boom!™ Box" infotainment/GPS system, a security system, and Premium low hand-adjustable rear suspension, which I like much better from experience in riding with both. Here is a free video & information I released on how to properly adjust the low hand adjustable rear suspension. The special also comes with a finished off shiny black painted inner dash instead of the matte black finish on the standard model. Note that the larger 6.5-inch touch-screen Boom!™ Box/GPS system is an option on the standard model. Harley-Davidson touring models first came out with the Boom!™ Box system in 2014 as part of Project Rushmore. Now, although the Boom!™ Box Infotainment System is pretty awesome, it does come with a fairly steep learning curve that has frustrated many Harley owners until now. In fact, most owners of the Boom!™ Box system have no idea about the hidden menus, bugs, issues, necessary software updates, mapping integration, nor the system's full overall capabilities. SEE PHOTO GALLERY The feature that most distinguishes the Road Glide from the other touring models is its fixed frame-mount “shark-nose” fairing and dual front headlights. The handlebars move inside the fairing, which stays put. On other touring models, such as the Street Glide, the handlebars move with the fairing and it is often called the "batwing" fairing. First seen on the 2014 touring models, the Road Glide now sports the upper fairing vent with a manual switch to shut it off in inclement weather. This vent is to minimize head buffeting by putting a curtain of air (wall) in front of you, forcing the oncoming air up and over your helmet while riding. My 2014 Street Glide special has this fairing vent and I have ridden a ton. My estimation is that it reduces head buffeting by 20-30 percent, so it is well worth it. In addition to the main upper vent are two vents to each side of the headlights, which are “Dual Reflector Daymaker LED” headlights. Harley says these headlights have significantly more spread and greater punch than standard headlights. Harley-Davidson is calling this new three-way air venting system the “triple splitstream vent”. Because the fixed fairing sits way further forward from the rider than on other models, the two additional lower vents are designed to lift the airflow per Harley-Davidson. The dramatic reduction in head buffeting has not only improved rider comfort, but also the listening quality of the Boom!™ Box sound system. A new handlebar bend reduces rider reach by 5.5 inches, which improves long-range comfort. Revised hand controls (just like 2014 models) have improved ergonomics, and a pair of thumb joysticks helps control the Boom!™ Box Infotainment and navigation. The standard comes with air-adjustable twin rear shocks. Here is a free video & information I released on how to adjust these air type shocks. With the Rushmore Project Harley put the new hard injection-molded saddlebags, which are the same convenient easy-open units found on Harley’s other touring models. The 2015 Road Glide standard comes with optional Reflex Linked Brakes with ABS, which I highly recommend for all riders. Of course they are anti-lock brakes, but much more. The integrated system senses too much front or rear brake applied by a rider and evens it out for you automatically, which is critical for emergency braking situations. I have tested this new braking system out intensely in all kinds of weather and road conditions and let me tell you that this bike stops fast and it is very controlled! With all the close calls us motorcyclists/bikers have to deal with, these brakes are well worth it. The iterated brakes don't react in until a bit higher speeds. So, for those of us that perform low-speed skills course drills, we won't have to worry about using that back brake and having it activate suddenly! There's a new motorhome on the Class B market, with one of the lowest MSRP pricetags on the market. This podcast is from the 2014 National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Ky.
