Welcome to Episode 53! This week, Nick and Nathan share their thoughts on the 2024 Nissan Ariya and 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST. Meanwhile, Rush is pleasantly surprised by the 2024 VW Jetta GLI, even going as far as to say he'd take one over an Elantra N or a WRX. Plus, we finish up the episode by recounting our personal picks for Car of the Year. Nick still maintains the Ioniq 5 N made him cackle the most—and you can probably guess what stole Rush and Nathan's hearts. Last but not least, this will be our last episode of 2024. Happy Holidays, and see you all next year!

We're back! Welcome to Episode 44! This week, Nathan returns from his travels to LA, bringing us up to speed on Volvo's all-new, all-electric 2025 EX90. Plus, he spent a few extra days there behind the wheel of the refreshed 2025 Aston Martin DBX 707, and had his mind positively blown at the Petersen Automotive Museum in downtown LA. While Nathan was out, Nick was off in Ann Arbor checking out the 2025 VW Jetta, which sees a handful of tweaks and updates — some good, others not so much — while remaining a ridiculously great value proposition. And finally, we cap off the episode sharing our thoughts on the 2025 BMW M4 Competition cabrio, as well as Aston's delicious DB12 Volante. Enjoy the show? The 2024 Volkswagen Jetta GLI is the enthusiasts' Jetta. It's a compact four-door sedan that seats five. Aka the Golf GTI with a trunk. And if you're looking to drive with more power, tuned suspension, and overall sportiness. Then the GLI Jetta is for you. GLI stands for Grand Luxury Injection. And a little more background bit for you. Volkswagen introduced the Jetta to the US market in 1980. Then they followed with the Jetta GLI in 1984. ⇒ iDriveSoCal's VW Dealer Is Ontario Volkswagen [powerpress channel="podcast" post_type="podcast"] New For 2024 Volkswagen Jetta GLI The biggest news for 2024 GLI is that the enthusiast model is being offered in two different trims. There's the 40th Anniversary and the Autobahn. GLI now includes Volkswagen's IQ.Drive driver assistance technology on all automatic transmission models. And that's now standard. Also new for the 2024 Volkswagen Jetta GLI is a nicety on the Autobahn models. Because they now come with a heated steering wheel standard. 228 hp & 258 lb-ft of torque Trims And Prices - 2024 VW Jetta GLI For 2024 the VW Jetta GLI is coming in two different trims. You have the option of the Autobahn or the 40th Anniversary Edition. 2024 VW Jetta GLI Trims & Starting MSRPs: 40th Anniversary Edition $28,085 Autobahn $31,785 It's worth noting that the 40th Anniversary Edition GLI costs slightly less than the top-of-the-line non-GLI Jetta for 2024. Engine, Transmissions & MPG Under the hood is where you'll find a big differentiator between the Jetta and Jetta GLI. Because the GLI comes with a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder with 16 valves. It's turbocharged and intercooled. Putting out 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. That's a big step up from its more tame sibling. The non-GLI Jetta offers a 1.5L 4-cylinder putting out 158 hp with 184 lb-ft of torque. GLI comes only in front-wheel drive. But automatic or manual transmission is being offered on both GLI trims for 2024. The manual transmission is standard equipment on both trim options. And the automatic transmission upgrades to a seven-speed dual-clutch. MPG with the manual is being estimated at 24/35/28 - city/highway/combined. And with automatic transmission GLI's estimated MPG bumps up to 26/36/30 for the same. 7-speed automatic or 6-speed manual trans 2024 Volkswagen Jetta GLI - What Does It Look Like? The Volkswagen Jetta GLI continues its athletic and sporty appearance. Immediately recognizable are the red GLI badging and accents. But if you miss the VW badge, you might easily mistake GLI for an Audi. And being the brand's luxury brethren, that makes sense. Curiously Volkswagen groups the GLI and Jetta in the materials it shares with the automotive press. However, the engine, suspension and, appearance are all different when comparing the two. Even the exterior dimensions differ - albeit slightly. Exterior dimensions: Wheelbase 105.6 Track: front 60.5 rear 60.7 Length 186.9 Width 70.8 Height 57.3 Ground clearance 5.2 *All inches Inside The 2024 Volkswagen Jetta GLI Going inside the 2024 Jetta GLI you find the sporty accents continued. Red GLI branded highlights and stitching adorn the gear shift column, seats, and more. The stainless steel pedal covers further the sporty motif. Plus 40th Anniversary Edition trims get a special steering wheel and seat tags. A common signature differentiator VW adds to various trims and models. Controlling both trims for 2024 is a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The automatic transmission, of course, includes paddle shifters for taking control of the RPMs. Also coming with GLI is either an aluminum or leather gearshift knob. Aluminum comes with the standard manual transmission. And leather comes with the manual trans. Heated front seats come on both trims. But if you want them ventilated as well then you have to go with the Autobahn trim.
This week on Salt Lake Dirt, I talk with author Daniel Weizmann about his writing journey from the LA punk scene to his most recent novel The Last Songbird, a mystery involving a Lyft driver and a famous folk singer. Great book, great chat! Thanks for listening. Kyler --- Synopsis: "A struggling songwriter and Lyft driver, Adam Zantz's life changes when he accepts a ride request in Malibu and 1970s music icon Annie Linden enters his dented VW Jetta. Bonding during that initial ride, the two quickly go off app— over the next three years, Adam becomes her exclusive driver and Annie listens to his music, encouraging Adam even as he finds himself driving more often than songwriting. Then, Annie disappears, and her body washes up under a pier. Left with a final, cryptic text— ‘come to my arms'— a grieving Adam plays amateur detective, only to be charged as accomplice-after-the-fact. Desperate to clear his name and discover who killed the one person who believed in his music when no one else in his life did, Adam digs deep into Annie's past, turning up an old guitar teacher, sworn enemies and lovers, and a long-held secret that spills into the dark world of a shocking underground Men's Rights movement. As he drives the outskirts of Los Angeles in California, Adam comes to question how well he, or anyone else, knew Annie— if at all. The Last Songbird is a poignant novel about love, obsession, the price of fame and the burden of broken dreams, with a shifting, twisting plot that's full of unexpected turns." --- Episode Links: PURCHASE The Last Songbird www.danielweizmann.com IG: @danielweizmann --- SLD Podcast Info: www.saltlakedirt.com Radio Broadcast every Monday on KPCR 101.9 FM Santa Cruz - 6PM - 8PM PST Listen on APPLE Podcasts Listen on SPOTIFY Instagram: @saltlakedirt

It's been a long journey for Zander "Z-Man" Gabriel from his earliest days at Ojai's rickety wooden skate park to his astonishing professional success, about to launch his own brand with skateboards, gear, merchandise and more. He's one of the top pros in this exciting sport, though he still spends most days on urban adventures, looking for fun new places to skate. It was one of these urban adventures that gave him his street cred, when after 10 brutal attempts, he stuck the landing on the notorious El Toro 20-step staircase in Lake Forest, with a "never been done" backsmith trick. As with many skaters, he is more proud of scars than medals. Skating culture has come a long way since the first pairing of a surfboard with skates in the 1950s. It came into its own during the late 1970s when Stacy Peralta and friends, "Lords of Dogtown," practically invented a culture. By the time Tony "Birdman" Hawk came along in the 1980s and 1990s and built a video-game empire, and Spike Jonze went from taking photo for skater 'zines to directing box-office blockbusters, skating was well on its way to being an established part of culture. Now, Gabriel represents the next generation, making his move into the entrepreneurial side of the skate world. He has filmed advertisements and sponsorships, including the famous VW Jetta commercial, in which Gabriel skates his way through a busy Los Angeles wearing a blue suit. The once-renegade sport has come a long way, all the way to the 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. While Gabriel won't be competing, he will be on hand to cheer on many of closest friends who are. In this episode, Gabriel gives credit to Ojai for his success; especially his mother, Judy, "the quintessential skate mom," he said. She helped lobby and raise funds for the permanent skate park. He plans on an event at this summer, to perform some stunts, give away some board, have a barbecue and celebrate his success in the place where it started. Zander will be featured on the cover of the Summer issue of Ojai's magazine, the OQ, which will come out Memorial Day weekend. We did not talk about the Inuit communities of northern Canada, spearfishing or James Clerk Maxwell.

Back at it again with more of the same. Less is more but not really if you got it like that. More is definitely more this week as the guys try to lock in a final name for their new show, regional cuisine is dissected and Steve yells at Ed to divulge if he is an enjoyer of veal and other cruel foods. However Ed steals the show on this episode when he drops his bombshell admission that he is contemplating becoming a hunter. Thats right, Mr. Film and Music wants to get back to his rustic roots and become a Big Buck Hunter... How will this guy get a full deer body into his VW Jetta? How will he stalk his prey when he's loud by nature? Does he look good in orange? Also, Ed is against hunting with guns so there's that.... TBH Steve still doesn't think he would really do it but WTF does that guy know anyway?

The Key Learning Points:1. The importance of making the insurance industry the career choice for young people, by providing realistic insight into a financial services career.2. The misunderstanding amongst young people that a degree is necessary to have a successful career in financial services, and practical advice on how to kickstart a career without a degree.3. How the demographic of the adviser market has stayed relatively stable over the past decade.Today on the Risky Mix Podcast we're joined by the intermediary director from AIG Life, and a lady who is well known in the life and health insurance industry, not only for her successful career but also having shared her personal health story last year. She was awarded Woman of the Year in the intermediary support category last year, at the Women in Protection awards. Welcome the wonderful Vicky Churcher! Vicky starts by talking us through her career journey, leaving school at the age of 15 with few qualifications. Her first role in financial services was as a bank clerk at Lloyds bank and while working there she began to understand about managing money and financial wellbeing. Vicky moved onto the customer enquiries desk and explains that she saw first-hand the impact of debt and vowed never to get into that situation: “That would never happen to me and 35 years on I can honestly say I've always looked after my finances.” A few years on Vicky decided to make the move up north: “I swapped my suit and banking job in the city for wellies and a VW Jetta.” Taking her first role in sales, Vicky was tasked with selling pigloos - igloos for piglets to protect them from the harsh Yorkshire winds. “I loved it and I realised that sales was definitely what I wanted to do!” After accepting that the job offered few progression opportunities, Vicky joined Allergan pharmaceuticals, then moved to Bupa in 1996, where she worked for 16 years and had her three children. Vicky left Bupa in 2001 when the business was acquired by Friends Life and joined Ageas Protect, which at the time was a new company and Vicky saw them as a “good opportunity to create something.” Ageas was acquired by AIG and today Vicky is the intermediary director at AIG life. “It's been a very wiggly career journey, as most are, but I wouldn't have changed any of it given my time again.”The conversation moves on to education and the options available to young people coming out of school. Vicky believes that financial services is still an industry that most people “fall into” because it's not spoken about at school as a career choice. Young people don't really know what the industry offers and what a career might look like. Vicky doesn't think that young people should feel pressured to go to university: “If you don't go to university, it's fine, it's not the end of the world.” Vicky explains that AIG recruits lots of young people straight out of school and the business offers all protection specialists the opportunity to become qualified financial advisers, funding qualifications and study materials over a three to four-year period. The conversation moves onto the adviser market and Vicky explains that it's not really changed in the last decade. We have the same number of financial advisers as we did in 2017, most are male and the average age is mid-50s. Vicky adds that of the 26,000 advisers in the UK, 20% plan to leave the industry or retire in the next 5 years and that by 2030 it's predicted that only 18,000 financial advisers will be working in the industry. Part of this Vicky believes is the perception that buyer behaviour is expected to change, and become more digitally-focused, which is part of the reason that new advisers may not be entering the space but for her, the main issue is that this career option is not being spoken about enough at schools.

Support LGBT Stories by donating here www.ourlgbtstories.com Last week I shared with you all about what it was like for me to come out or be outed, I should say, at the church I had been attending. I shared with you the stares that I received from people who I called "Family" and how I attended "Self-confrontation" classes to "confront" my gayness. I also began talking a bit about my move to Pennsylvania. We will get more into that today, for sure. However, I'd like to briefly discuss something about church and homosexuality. As I listened back to last week's episode, preparing for today's, I felt as though I left things on a difficult note regarding the intersection of homosexuality and Christianity. And honestly, after sharing what I went through, one might say that I was justified... I mean, it's my experience, right? Yes. But, that's not who I am today, and it might not even be who that church is today. I have no idea. I don't attend that church anymore, obviously. How would I know if they've changed? All I can hope for it that God has shown them how He loves all his creation, no matter their orientation. It's apparent that the entire experience is still hard on my heart; otherwise, why would I have left it like such. Maybe that's something I should start looking at again. The Christian church has its problems, yes, but I can say that my experience with it today is vastly different than it has ever been. Today I am part of a church in Hollywood called Ecclesia and have never felt so loved and supported for the person I am, just as I am. But more of that to come in the next coming weeks. I simply thought it'd be nice for me to circle back around and make note that I am a believer, still. Some churches just miss the mark, and others, like Ecclesia, are much closer to the mission of Jesus than others. Okay, let's get back to the story of Me. Here I am, in York County, PA. In the city of Dover. I'm talking cornfields and, small-town USA. What the hell was my mom thinking? I knew NO ONE! Well, my cousin, Vincent, and his family were already living there, but STILL. Really PA? Okay, deep breath, I can do this. First things first, find a job. If it was 2019, I'm sure my first action would have been more like, First things first, pull out iPhone, open up Grindr. But I digress. I ended up landing at a job at a local steak house called, Texas Road House as a "Busboy". Long story short, I lasted there I believe the most 2 weeks before I simply could not deal anymore. Again, here I am, in a place of utter uncomfortably. I can just tell that I stick out like a sore thumb. I just wasn't vibing. Meanwhile, in my off time, I can remember going to a few local bars with my cousin and his friends. It wasn't so bad, but I don't know; it just wasn't my thing. Honestly, I don't even know how we got in, I wasn't even 21 yet. Even at 33 years old, I don't go out and party. Partly due to the fact that I am so damn busy, but hey, aren't we all? And to make matters worse, I knew not one other gay person. Not one! It was like I was starting all over. The guy I first slept with and fell hard for a few years prior was back in Maryland, and traveling there just was too much. My friends who I would go parting with, in DC and Baltimore, simply fell victim to, out of sight, out of mind. It was all just a sad and lonely time of my life. I knew that I needed to change my current reality. I couldn't stay here. My older brother, Phil, and his wife Vicky were living in Florida at the time, why don't I go live with them? So I went to my mom and asked her what she thought about it? She said, "Talk to Phil, and if he says 'Yes,' then you can go." And that's what I did and what he said. I believe a week or two went by before once again; all my belongings were packed into my 2005 VW Jetta, and I was embarking on the 16-hour drive to Sarasota, Florida. Here is where I as a young gay "Twink," started to thrive, or so what I thought was thriving. But before we leave the Maryland/Pennsylvania territories, I'd like to share with you all the story of my first time with a man. So let's backtrack. His name was, we will call him, Travis. I was 18 at the time and using craigslist.com for all the wrong reasons! If you know, then you know. I'm certainly not giving any more explanation on that one. One night I meet a guy, Travis, via the site. I head over to his house in Glen Burnie, MD. Cute little neighborhood in a single-family home. He was I believe between 22-24 at the time. He met me outside in my car and told me that we had to be very quiet because his parents were at home in bed. Lord, so many triggers! Okay, moving on. We get to his room, and I can remember feeling just so envious of his space. He was like an adult! So much stuff and so put together. The intense attraction was inevitable. We talked for a little before doing anything, just all small talk getting to know each other, I guess? I mean, maybe there was some sort of natural connection? Who knows. However, we never ended up doing anything more than me giving his oral sex. I don't remember anything more of that night, other than getting home and knowing that I wanted to be his boyfriend. As you know, from what I shared about my life already, that didn't happen. This was the beginning of about a friendship/sexual relationship of me giving myself away at his beck and call. It was unhealthy, and I was taken great advantage of. This is a pattern that would continue until my late 20's. Travis was the man who I would go on to have anal sex with for the first time. I'm going on record to say, the first time was one of the most painful experiences of my life. Painful yet, blissful all at the same time. So weird, life... you are weird. But don't get worried boys, Travis simply must have had no idea, or didn't care about what or how he was doing it, because it gets oh so much better. Just educate yourself first! Please, for the sanity for your butthole... educated yourself, your partner, and YOU TAKE THE LEAD! Hey, all you tops out there, the bottom is in control, not you! Again, an entirely different episode for an entirely different time. Let's end things there. Next week I will share more about mine and Travis sorta relationship and continue on as I move to Florida and meet my first-ever boyfriend! Till then, thanks for listening. I would love to know what you think about this segment of the show in the comments on iTunes or on social media. Thanks again to everyone who has already told me how much you love it. That means so much to me. Enjoy the rest of your week, you'll hear from us on Friday for FKF. Until then, be sure to keep loving one another! CONNECT WITH US ONLINE! Episode 151-The taste of victory Ah the refreshing flavor of victory. Dave doesn't get to taste it often, or seemingly care to, but when he gets his pasty ginger lips on the sweet chalice of triumph, he certainly doesn't hesitate to gloat about it. While Dave's victory is technically not impressive, or impressive at all, we are truly impressed by a VW Jetta. Numbers don't lie, and when we ran the math on how much this car travels, the magnitude of what we were truly witnessing came into focus. Thank you Chris, please NEVER STOP SENDING US PICTURES. Lastly, we round out the episode by looking and listening to the things you sent us! Please never stop sending us things! Buy stuff with our hashtag brand on it! 2019 Volkswagen Jetta - All-New Generation Our 2019 Volkswagen Jetta review uncovered impressive and intuitive technology, increased and upscale interior space, performance and much more. Additionally, the new design looks great. iDriveSoCal's Professor, Clinton Quan, picked up an all-new 2019 VW Jetta to review from our friends at Ontario Volkswagen – hear his complete analysis in this iDSC Podcast. ***Transcript*** Recorded in Los Angeles, CA The All-New 2019 Volkswagen Jetta Review Professor: The all-new Volkswagen Jetta has a different engine now. Very smooth, brisk acceleration. It feels a lot more premium compared to the previous Jetta, especially with that virtual dash, everything is right there at your fingertips, so it makes it really, really easy to operate. Tom: Welcome to iDriveSoCal, the podcast all about mobility from the automotive capital of the United States; Southern California. Tom Smith here with the Professor, Mr. Clinton Quan. Say hello, Clinton. Professor: Hi, Tom. The 2019 VW Jetta is bigger and beautiful! Tom: And today, we are talking about our good friends out at Ontario Volkswagen in the Los Angeles suburb of Ontario, California. Specifically, a vehicle review. The 2019 Volkswagen Jetta. Now, to clarify before we throw it over to the Professor; the 2018 Jetta GLI, we just reviewed about a month, two months ago. Professor: Yes. Tom: So, that is the enthusiast's version, right? Professor: Correct. Tom: And as we discussed there, and I think in subsequent podcasts since, the Jetta was just completely redone. So this is an all-new Jetta. Volkswagen Jetta Enters Its 7th Generation Professor: This is in the 2019- Tom: All-new Jetta. And- Professor: The seventh generation. All-new 2019 Volkswagen Jetta Tom: Seventh Generation, and the enthusiasts' seventh generation, the GLI. We're under the impression that Volkswagen is going to be putting that out. They haven't announced that yet, but they're going to be putting that out, probably in the next year. Professor: Probably next year-ish. Tom: What have you. But so, this review is the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta. Take it away, Professor. 2019 Volkswagen Jetta Trim Configurations & MSRPs Professor: I drove the top-line trim, which is the SEL premium and for the 2019 Jetta, there are five trims. You have the S, which is the base trim; which starts at about $19,000. Then you have what I call the "mid-level trim", the SE. Around $22,000. Then you have a special sport trim that's called the "R-line". That's about $23,000. MQB Platformed 7th Generation VW Jetta Then you've got the... You could call it the top-line, the SEL. That's about $24,000. And then you have this new luxury, premium top-of-the-line SEL Premium, which is about $27,000. Tom: And that's what you drove. So you drove all the bells and whistles. Professor: Yes. It's got the virtual dash, so it's very Audi-esque like. Non-Professional Reviews of the 2019 VW Jetta Tom: And so, just a quick plug also for some of... So, Clinton and I review a lot of vehicles, and Clinton's an enthusiast. But if you wanted to hear from an everyday driver, we were out at the Jetta Launch Party at Ontario Volkswagen. I guess this is about a month-ish ago. We did some reviews with various customers that were coming in just to drive for the Launch Party. Jetta Digital Cockpit They came in to check out the new Jetta, and so I think there are about five different podcasts that we did. They're little short ones, about five, six minutes each. They're with these everyday drivers that we did these podcasts with, they're enthusiasts in their own right, but Clinton and I do this all the time. So, he's a little bit of a professional. If you want to check out the other Jetta reviews, there are lots of great things that everybody is saying about the 2019 Jetta. 2019 Volkswagen Jetta Reviews from SoCal Drivers:
Jetta Review - Real Test-Driver from Riverside, California Ian Duarte came from Riverside, CA to test drive the all-new 2019 VW Jetta at Ontario Volkswagen. And he was so impressed, that after doing so, he sat down to share his thoughts on the iDriveSoCal Podcast. Technically, Ian rode along with his friend Michelle Bentley. And, the two diehard Volkswagen fans had nothing but high marks for the latest innovation from their favorite automaker. Continue reading or click play below to hear Ian's Jetta review - from a Riverside commuter. ***Transcript*** Recorded @ Ontario Volkswagen More Real-Driver Jetta Reviews: Riverside Driver Loma Linda Driver Family from Corona Inland Empire Driver 2019 Volkswagen Jetta Review From Riverside, California Ian: I think the MQB platform has actually given the interior of the car more space, basically, without making the car bigger. Virtual cockpit, really cool. A lot of nice little things to mess with. Center Stack Angled Toward the Driver I definitely love the taillights and the headlights on these cars. Riverside VW Enthusiast Ian Duarte at Ontario Volkswagen Tom: Welcome to iDriveSoCal, a podcast all about mobility from the automotive capital of the United States, southern California. I'm Tom Smith and we're at the Ontario Volkswagen 2019 Jetta launch party, and joining me is Ian Duarte from- Ian: Riverside, California. Tom: Okay, Ian's Jetta Review from Riverside, California. Ian just got back with Michelle from a 2019 Jetta test drive. So, tell me what you thought. 2019 VW Jetta Ian: Well I can give you a different point of view over here, 'cause I was sitting in the back seat as she was driving, yeah. Tom: So Michelle, did she let you drive? Ian: I let her drive, yeah. Tom: Ah. Ian: You'll see you get a different perspective here. Tom: Absolutely. We need that perspective. I'm just putting the relationship together. Like, all right, Michelle's the driver, Ian's in the backseat. The all-new VW Jetta has gotten bigger! Ian: Back seat driver. Tom: So, how was the trunk, Ian? Ian: The trunk is actually pretty roomy. Luxurious And Spacious Jetta Interior Tom: It is. I was just kidding. How was the back seat? Tell me about the ride. Ian: It was actually pretty roomy, honestly, because like I've said, I've sat in the back of her GLI. And, I think the MQB platform has actually given the interior of the car more space, basically, without making the car bigger. Smoother All-New 2019 Jetta Tom: I love all the technology, innovation, including how they're innovating with engineering the interior of the car. What else do you think? Ian: I really like the virtual cockpit. Tom: So, did you get to drive, or you just got to see the virtual cockpit? Ian: I just got to see it. Tom: All right, yeah. It is pretty cool. What else? Ian: Well, I like the way the leather felt. Jetta Digital Cockpit Tom: Yeah. Ian: Because hers, SEL, being leather seats as well, I feel like they did a little nice update on their leather, as well. Tom: Very high quality. Ian: Yeah. "...I think the MQB platform has actually given the interior of the car more space, basically, without making the car bigger." Tom: With the pinhole and everything. Ian: Oh, yeah. Tom: It was like, all right, I'm getting into a quality car. To me, it felt like a lot more car than the price point. Riverside Commuter Jetta Review - Better Interior, Exterior And Performance Ian: Oh, yeah, of course. If you're gonna look at the competitors, obviously, you have a way nice interior, exterior, and performance, versus the competitors. Tom: Okay. All right, so, it sounds like you're a bit of a car guy, as well as Michelle's car girl. "...you have a way nice interior, exterior, and performance, versus the competitors." Ian: Oh, yeah, of course, oh yeah. Tom: All right, so then,

This is episode is a little different. A few weeks ago I was asked by my good friends Natacha and Gary to do an engagement photography shoot. Thats not really my thing but I told them I’d be up to have a Sunday fun day in Brooklyn and I’d bring my camera to capture the fun. So on the first day of 2017, we all met in DUMBO and I captured their day. Now, a few years ago I had this grand idea to interview a newly wed couple and asked them how they met, their first date, blah blah blah… For some odd reason that idea never happened. On the morning of my shoot with Natacha and Gary this little voice was like “Bring the mic, do that idea thing with the couples and stuff” and so I did. After the shoot I asked if they’d be down to help make my idea tangible and of course they were. I really do have great and supportive friends. They had a car, So I told Gary to take a walk and I interviewed Natacha in the back seat of their VW Jetta. And then Gary came back, then I asked Natacha to kick rocks and got Gary’s side of the story. I really just wanted to do this interview in private and give it to them. I had no intention of making these conversations public let alone a podcast episode but as I listened to their stories, I felt compelled to share them with you. I got their permission aaaaaaaaand here we are. Please, enjoy.
