El Volkswagen Tiguan es el modelo más vendido de la marca desde 2017. Desde su lanzamiento en 2007, ha vendido más de 7.6 millones de unidades. En su tercera generación, el Tiguan presenta un diseño renovado, más tecnología y motores más eficientes. Su interior está equipado con materiales de alta calidad y nuevas pantallas de 15" o 12.9" para el sistema de infoentretenimiento, además de botones físicos en el volante. Ha crecido en longitud, alcanzando los 4,539 mm, y ofrece mayor espacio para pasajeros y carga, con un maletero de 652 litros. Hay ocho motores disponibles: cuatro híbridos (dos de hibridación ligera y dos PHEV) y cuatro sin hibridación (dos diésel y dos gasolina). This Episodes Questions: Brian's Questions: Hi guys. Long term listener. Great pod cast. I recent have a gotten my first 220 table saw. Grizzly 690. It works great and my router table, wood pecker P2. I have a small shop and space always is tight. I am thinking about buying an infra table fence with the router attachment as I can put it off to one side as my cut requirements are less than 24 inches. Mainly 12-18 inches wide as my happy space is projects within 2 ft by 4 ft. Anything larger is handled on my Yeti Smart bench, 4x8 cutting capacity. Guy is a big fan of incra tools and I just wonder if his opinion on what is best .  Replace a good table saw fence with the incra one that was mentioned before and an added router table attachment or keep things separate? I have most of what I need to do this project but I don't own any chisels to clean up my work. Can you suggest a brand or set that would be affordable yet good quality that could last for future projects? Also, how easy is it to maintain the edges? I'm having problems when I glue up frame and panels for doors on cabinets and keeping the frame flat. This problem is exacerbated when there are two doors and they are both not flat. My joinery is square, the styles and rails and panel are all square and flat, so I know that's not my problem.  I'm am guessing that it's the way I'm clamping it during glue up.  I would appreciate any thought on what I may be doing wrong, or tips and techniques you use when gluing up panels. Mike Gitberg Could you give an explanation of your general setup and process for finishing regarding the consumables.  I feel like I am not very efficient and am wasteful during this process. For example, I just finished a shaker end table that I put a sealcoat of shellac on, and followed that with a hard wax oil. It came out looking great but I feel like there is a huge mess to cleanup after. Because of the risk of the oil self-igniting, I laid everything on my garage floor after I was done, so it could to dry.  I see that I used 8 rubber gloves, a dozen shop towels, scotch brite pads, several sheets of butcher paper and the mixing cup for the oil. Also, can I reuse the mixing cup from the hard wax oil? How would you clean out the leftover mix? Thanks for the great podcast! I like to keep my kids on their toes wondering about me. I've always wanted to make a throne to keep in the room for me to lecture from, or to let kids sit on. I teach high school, so the kids are full human sized mostly and never careful, so well built is a necessity. Again, I'm a teacher, so budget friendly design is also a consideration. I have some recycled 3” square cedar posts, and other scrap, but I definitely can't afford to go out and get 4” thick white oak or walnut. I am also a leather worker, so incorporating leather seats or whatnot is within my skills. Not afraid of carving or painting for details. I've done some looking for inspiration and it just doesn't seem folks are building thrones all that often. The only chair I've built is an Adirondack from plans. Any ideas, thoughts, recommendations, resources, donations? I'd especially like to at least start with dimensions to keep in mind. For reference I am replacing and redesigning the Windham Wood Top Kitchen Island Off-White - Threshold from Target. The goal is to create more enclosed storage. I need to balance mobility and weight along with stability. This cart/island is used a lot for prepping food when we have company. I would prefer to construct the case out of solid hardwood panels for a sleeker look but I am concerned about the overall weight. It appears that the logical solution is to use plywood and create frame and panel walls. As I have never used plywood for things other than drawers and shop furniture, I am concerned about color matching the plywood and hardwood. Is this a logical concern? I do not own a truck and would likely have to pay $75 for delivery of lumber from a local lumberyard (I live in Los Angeles). When I normally purchase hardwood, I have the guys cut it into manageable pieces that fit into my VW Tiguan. Lastly, do you have any  ideas for the back wall of the cart? The back panel needs to be attractive as it would often be seen when the cart is moved around the kitchen. Again plywood seems to be easiest option but would require me to order the plywood for delivery. Would a back panel made out of 4/4 material planed down to 5/8 in. create weight distribution issues and risk tipping? Would there be any overall concerns with so much hardwood and seasonal movement. Living in Los Angeles, we don't get seasons but some days are definitely more humid than others. If I do decide to order the plywood, what would be a good thickness to consider? From the great use of space to the joints where various panels come together.  Notable inside Tiguan is the ample legroom for both front and second-row passengers.  Because at 40.2 and 38.7 inches, Tiguan's legroom, as a compact SUV, rivals that of some midsize SUVs. Because, no matter what trim, there's a single engine.  And when it comes to the trans.  You need only select from two-wheel or all-wheel drive. The Volkswagen Tiquan Allspace seven-seat model was recently revised in a six-model petrol and diesel range. I drove the entry 2.0-litre 147kW turbo-diesel Elegance Allspace at $58,490 with seven-speed automatic and VW's four-motion all-wheel drive. However, with the metallic paint option at $900 and a Sound and Vision option including 10 speaker Harmon Kardon stereo, a head up display and 360-degree camera all up cost on road was $68,375. Like many SUV's prices have jumped this year lurching toward Luxury Car Tax territory. However, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace AWD is one very highly equipped SUV. Yes, a seven-seater but the third-row seat is cramped at best and best for small kids.  It works best as a roomy five-seater with excellent and practical luggage space.  Instrumentation, switchgear, and touchscreen top class with the second-row seat adjustment allowing generous knee room, seats well-sized and nicely bolstered, the second row well served with air vents, climate controls and two USB ports. The interior package nicely appointed, well packaged and thought out from front to back although I found the new temperature control sliders were somewhat fussy to use. Warranty: five years/unlimited kms. With tight supply getting your hands on a VW Tiguan at present may prove to be the biggest challenge. Both looking at and driving the new Tiguan is impressive.  Because the new model is a major contrast to the very first Tiguan introduced in the United States. Moreover, that refreshed front end looks great with the LEDs.  And when you go inside the update that is immediately appreciated is the Digitial Cockpit - now standard across all trims. 109.9" wheelbase and 186.1" overall length Trims And Prices Volkswagen provides four primary trim configurations to choose from for Tiguan 2022. 2022 VW Tiguan Trims & MSRPs: S $25,995 SE $29,495 SE R-Line Black $32,295 SEL R-Line $36,595 *Starting manufacturers suggested retail prices The 2022 VW Tiguan I drove is pictured in this review.  And it's the SEL R-Line trim with 4Motion - what Volkswagen calls its all-wheel drive. And our thanks as always to our friends at Ontario Volkswagen in the Los Angeles suburb of Ontario California for providing the Tiguan for this review. Engine, Transmission, And MPG As The Peoples carmaker often does, it keeps it simple offering one engine and one transmission in the 2022 Tiguan. So, after you decide your trim configuration and options, all you need to select is 2WD or AWD/4MOTION. VW Digital Cockpit Standard Engine Under the hood, Tiguan includes an impressively quick 184 horsepower 2.0L inline turbocharged 4-cylinder.  And it puts out 221 pound-feet of torque. Transmission Then that engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.  And when you go with the two-wheel-drive option it's front-wheel drive.  Or, you can opt for Volkswagen's 4MOTION.  And that's what my test driver had - it's quick and nimble.  Great fun to drive. Fuel Economy As you can expect, when you have a single-engine and transmission, the fuel economy range is pretty close. But when you go with 2WD you get 26 MPG combined.  And that breaks down to 23 in the city and 30 on the highway. Conversely, with all-wheel-drive, you get a combined 25 MPG.  Broken down that's 22-city and 29-highway. Finally, if you go with the R-Line AWD those numbers change slightly.  Combined is 24 MPG with 21-city and 28-highway. Curb Weight: 3,765/3,856 lbs What's The 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Look Like? So when it comes to the looks of the refreshed 2022 VW Tiguan - that's where I really take a step back. Because when Tiguan first hit the US market in 2008... I found it to be lacking in the department of aesthetical appeal.  But fast-forward to now, and there's a night-and-day difference.  It's great-looking, especially with its adjusted front-end. Plus, and it's difficult to display in an online image, but there's an available LED lightbar.  It spans the entire grill - headlight to headlight and looks very cool. No doubt the 2022 Tiguan is a Volkswagen, but it's sharp.  European sharp and athletic. 1,500 lbs towing capacity Inside '22 Tiguan Volkswagen's Digital Cockpit highlights the interior updates of the new Tiguan.  But to be clear the rest of the interior is to be appreciated as well. Because, if you're a regular iDriveSoCal reader, listener, or watcher, then you know I'm a big fan of interior engineering.  And VW's is almost always both tight and right.

Through the first eight months of 2021, the marque's battery-powered cars and SUVs made up nearly two thirds of those registered in the US." writes Robb Report: "According to new data from Experian (h/t Inside EVs), 294,218 electric vehicles were sold between January and August. That number only accounts for 2.7 percent of total automobile sales, but represents a 114 percent increase compared to the same period in 2020. And 194,165 of those vehicles were Teslas. That number represents 66 percent of all EVs registered in that time and a 79 percent increase when compared to the same period last year." As for the model split: "Model Y compact crossover (pictured at top): 105,445 of the electric SUVs have been registered in 2021. The executive's point was clear: shifting to EVs would save customers money, and Volkswagen's electric cars are better than the company's tried-and-tested ICE lineup.  It's difficult not to be impressed by Herbert Diess' consistency, especially when it comes to his stance on electric vehicles.
