This weeks episode was such a cool one! I got to sit down and talk to Laura Williams! Laura was a contestant on the voice in season 24! She received a 4 turn chair during her audition! She ultimately chose Niall Horan as her coach and you can hear that story in during our conversation. Laura was able to tell her testimony of overcoming school bullying and eating disorder to finding her faith in Jesus! Now Laura is on a journey to sing praises and glory to the One who came to save her. We also discussed the everyday struggles that we face when we do have an Identity in Christ. Laura has her debut single out now called "Who Jesus Is". This song is a reflection of what Laura wants people to see when they look at her! This song has wrecked me because I want to reflect Christ in my life and my prayer is that I do that to the best of my abilities. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode and hope you do as well!! https://www.instagram.com/thelaurawilliamsofficial/ https://www.tiktok.com/@laurawilliamsofficial https://open.spotify.com/artist/6TPP02V7gyAIVrTGsyEVxb https://music.apple.com/us/artist/laura-williams/1606992829 --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/running-through-my-vanes-podcast/support

Protection from Cults or even controlling dysfunctional Christian leaders can be accomplished by understanding not just the words of Jesus but "Who Jesus Is" and understanding... the "kind of person" that He is. Cult leaders use the words of Jesus but "detached" them from the person and character of Jesus! Beware. The best and only context for the Words of Jesus is the person and character of Jesus. You absolutely have to know who a person is, to understand what they are saying.Let me say it differently. The best way to "interpret" Jesus words is in the context of His good person and character. You need to study how Jesus related to people and understand His relationships to know who He is and what He is like. This was the whole goal of the God Is Just Like Jesus Book and the whole goal of the You Tube Videos and Podcasts. Both Jesus and the Devil (or a Pharisee) can say the same words like, "Deny yourself and follow me" but the results are as radically different as St Francis of Assisi is from Jim Jones.Resources:Please feel free to email me at chris@godisjustlikejesus.com if you like an episode or you have suggestions how to improve an episode.Search for “God Is Just Like Jesus” on these Platforms:Podcasts: Spotify | Apple Podcasts | Pandora | Amazon MusicConcept Video: https://youtu.be/Hi6kknKWjCwYou Tube Play List: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJkV7zR-7Ao0XHJTo0FQVowVHZ7BLGPO5Link Tree of Resources https://linktr.ee/chrissarrisWeb Site: http://www.godisjustlikejesus.com/Music by AlexiAction from PixaBay
Summer Bible Study: Resurrection is Who Jesus Is, Not Just What He Does- A Devotional Study of Martha Resurrection isn't just what Jesus does, it's who He is. When we allow Jesus to speak to those places in our lives that we think are dead, we start to fully realize who He is. This audio devotional is a companion to the She Hears Bible Study, today's content is from Chapter 4- Martha- A Woman of Assertiveness. The Hearing Jesus Podcast will encourage and equip you to step into the calling God has for your life, living out your faith in the everyday. Together we will break down walls that keep us from growing spiritually. We will dig deep into our Bibles to understand and connect the Scriptures to our lives. We will boldly obey what God calls us to do, walking through doors that only He can open. Purchase the Bible Study- She Hears: Learning to Listen to Jesus: https://shehears.org/resources In this six-week study from the Book of John, Rachael Groll takes you on an in-depth exploration into the lives of six women Jesus knew. Women often deal with feelings of insecurity and unworthiness, yet the lives of these women show that Jesus values us, wants a relationship with us, and can use us to further His kingdom. In her warm, conversational style, Rachael ties together her life experience, knowledge of the Scriptures, and her compassion for women to encourage us and enable us to become the women God has called us to be. Hey friends, welcome to the Hearing Jesus Podcast. Do you sometimes doubt if you are truly hearing God's voice or if it's really your own? Do you wonder how you can know the difference? Do you struggle to feel confident in your relationship with God and what He says in his word? Do you sometimes feel stagnant or like you hit a wall in your spiritual life? Hey, I'm your host, Rachael Groll: missionary, author, pastor, and life coach. And I have been there. I, too, was doubting God's voice in my own life. I, too, felt insecure about the things I thought God might be calling me to do. I wanted to make a difference in the world and be obedient to what God was calling me to do, but I wasn't quite sure how to figure out what exactly that was. I kept telling myself that I was wasting time trying to figure it out or waiting for Him to show me. Or that I wasn't qualified to do the things I thought He might be telling me to do. The answer for me was found in the pages of the Bible, as I learned how to understand what it was actually saying. If you are ready to grow in your faith and to step confidently into the calling God has for you, then join me as we dig deep into God's word so you can learn to live out your faith in your everyday life. Friend, you are loved, you are cherished, and you are His. The Hearing Jesus Podcast will encourage and equip you to step into the calling God has for your life, living out your faith in the everyday. Together we will break down walls that keep us from growing spiritually. We will dig deep into our Bibles to understand and connect the Scriptures to our lives. We are going to press pause on our study through 1 Samuel and study each of the 7 sayings of Jesus that begin with the phrase, “I AM.” Throughout the Gospel of John, we find 7 “I Am” statements of Jesus. These are statements that Jesus made about Himself. And in each of these statements He reveals who is truly is. And what He reveals is both surprising to His audience and encouraging to His followers. In these statements, we see who Jesus is and what it is that He came to accomplish.
Sometimes it's just good to hear Him in the back of our mind saying, “it's what I do” I made you a masterpiece!! I've got great things planned for you!! Because now, we are His body in the earth. Wrap your head around this; without Him we cannot, without us He will not.
On "Triumphant Entry" Sunday, this answers the question of "WHO JESUS IS and IS NOT".

Mark 8:27-33 (NASB) 27 Jesus went out, along with His disciples, to the villages of Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He questioned His disciples, saying to them, “Who do people say that I am?” 28 They told Him, saying, “John the Baptist; and others say Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.” 29 And He continued questioning them: “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and said to Him, “You are the Christ.” 30 And He warned them to tell no one about Him. 31 And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise from the dead. 32 And He was stating the matter plainly. And Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. 33 But turning around and seeing His disciples, He rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind Me, Satan; for you are not setting your mind on God's purposes, but on man's.” Sermon Theme/Outline: Jesus leads us to clearly see Who He is, and teaches us what He as the Messiah/Son of Man must endure in the will of God. In our series, PREEMINENT: Hope For A Confused World From Colossians, we'll uncover how we should see, feel, and think about Jesus.Paul's letter to the Colossians boldly declares how we should see, feel, and think about Jesus. Who He is and what He has done liberates us to live every day by His power and in His presence. In Part Four of this series, special guest speaker David Perkins unpacks who Jesus really is: God, Creator, Center, Head of the Church, and Preeminent one.Focus Scripture // Colossians 1:15-20 (ESV)“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.”Sermon HighlightsWho Jesus Is: 1. (Matt. 16:15, 16; John 14:6) B. I must decide what I will DO. (John 18-19) What will I DO?
Matthew 21, Mark 11, Luke 19, and John 12 all record the “impromptu Worship service” that breaks out when people who had come to Jerusalem for the Passover feast hear of Jesus, coming into the city as well. We are very familiar with this passage, as it is our custom to revisit the story each year on Palm Sunday. This year, I have the great honor to bring the message about this powerful event-- a parade of worship perhaps-- but it has a deep application to not only our understanding of Who Jesus really was then-- but we read the passages knowing the “rest of the story”-- not just these last 6 days of Jesus’ earthly life-- not just of his death, burial, and glorious resurrection-- but the rest of the story as it applies to our own worship services today-- and Who Jesus IS today-- but also the rest of the history of the entire universe, when Jesus will triumphantly return and be recognized as the Lamb who is absolutely worthy of all praise and worship forever. We must understand not only who Jesus was-- but also who he is, and who He will be. I want us to examine together the Triumphal entry with these three dimensions of time in mind... Intro: I know that Christmas can be a sentimental time. We live in a culture that keeps trying to ignore Jesus Christ and the Word of God. Here are the results of this type of faulty thinking:There is more than one way to GodThe gospel is too exclusiveGod is a loving God and won't send anyone to hellOrthodox Christianity is arrogantOur culture and some religions want all of us to adapt a view that God is ok with anything. All you have to do is live a good life...whatever that means Would you agree that we live in confusing and uncertain times:Health concernsEconomic concernsPolitical concernsTheological concerns Jesus "I Am" statement in John 14 clearly tells us the He is fully God and fully man. It also is clear that there is only one way and one way only to be right with God the Father. Jesus Gives Assurance During Uncertain and Confusing Times v. 1-4Assurance and peace and comfort come by trusting God the Father and God the SonJesus brings peace through His promisedJesus Is the Only Way to God the Father v. 5-14"I am the way and the truth and the life. “Who Jesus Is” by Casey Bearden. The post Who Jesus Is appeared first on Margaret Street Church of Christ.
Peter and John heal a man who was lame from birth. This sign tells us three things: 1) It Tells us Who Jesus Is: the miracle Jesus performed through the apostles pointed to who Jesus is- the one God raised from the dead and glorified, the messianic servant of God, the Holy and Righteous One, the Author of Life. 2) It Tells Us How Jesus Fulfills Prophecy: he is the prophet Moses foretold, he brings the blessing that God promised to Abraham. 3) It Tells Us What Jesus Came to Do: this miracle gives a preview of what Jesus came to do- restore and make new- for those who repent Jesus promises to restore 1) their record- sins blotted out, 2) their relationship with God- “refreshment from presence of the Lord” 3) all creation- “restoring all things"
The revelation of Who Jesus Is is the foundation upon which the church is built and the gates of Hell WILL NOT OVERCOME YOU! Your personal revelation of WHO JESUS IS TO YOU. Will determine whether the outcome of your life is created by Jesus or if that plan is overcome and dominated by the Gates of Hell.
It was the beginning of "The Passion Week". Christ was about to fulfill the purpose for His incarnation. Within the week, He would voluntarily lay down His life for the sins of the world. Sunday of this important week was one of the most remarkable days in the Lord's life; it is commonly known as "Palm Sunday" or "The Triumphal Entry". Most people are familiar with the basics of Palm Sunday (i.e. Jesus on a young colt, multitudes waving plam branches, crying out, "Hosanna" to the King), but few understand the significance of the prophetic fulfillments that occurred that day. Did you know the Jews could have known to the very day when Messiah the Prince would officially present Himself to Israel (in Jerusalem) if they had done their homework with the amazing "Seventy Weeks' Prophecy" in Daniel 9:24-27 (listen to our podcast messages on "Daniel's Great 70 Weeks' Prophecy")? Find out why Jesus wept over Jerusalem as He looked at the city from the Mount of Olives before entering on the colt of an ass (fulfillment of another prophcey). It will utterly amaze you and make you weep with Him for His people and for everyone else who fails to understand the importance of Old Testament prophecy that verfies WHO JESUS IS!
Luke 3:23-4:13 The post #1 Who Jesus Is appeared first on Trinity Church Mount Barker.
There are many teachers through which the world offers instruction. You can be taught by your boss, your teacher, your parents, a close friend, a colleague. Some of the most influential teachers in the world today are the media, social media, music, films, and adverts. These things teach us the way the world says we should look and live if we're to be loved and accepted. Our opinions and habits are formed, informed and transformed by what we are taught. While we can have many teachers in life for good and for bad, Jesus taught that the primary teacher we need to have in life is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the best teacher and you can be taught by Him every single day. Let's discover how.The Holy Spirit Teaches Us About…1. Jesus (…the Spirit of truth…will glorify me); Who Jesus Is (1 Cor. 12:13, John 15:26); We Are Children Of God (Rom. 8:14-17); How To Live For Jesus (Mark 13:11)2. The Future (...and he will tell you what is yet to come); Of The Church (Matt 16:18); Of The World (Dan. 2:21); Your Future (Acts 16:6-7, 19:21, 20:22)3. Everything (...he will guide you into all the truth); About People (Matt 9:4, Luke 9:47); About The Ways & Thoughts Of God (1 Cor. 2:13-14, Isa. 55:8-9); About Prayer (Rom. 8:26-27); About Living Righteously (John 1:29, 5:14)Apply The Word:Today, who is teaching you? Have you learnt the ‘right way to be' from a teacher or a TV show? Do you look to the news, to social media, to popular culture, to find what has value or what the future holds? There are many voices in the world but only one which will reveal Christ to you. He doesn't speak how we speak, and his wisdom is not human wisdom – the Holy Spirit reveals spiritual realities that can only be revealed to us when we are living by the Spirit and being taught by Him. We must make a decision to ask the Holy Spirit to be our main teacher in life. First, we must ask & receive Him into our lives, then choose to live by the Spirit each day.How much importance do you place on quality time with the Holy Spirit every morning? Or on being in church, attending a small group, growing in the Spirit through our courses Life Class and Destiny Training? The Spirit will teach you what to say and how to live for Jesus in every circumstance. To have His insight though, we must prioritise Him and spend quality time with Him. To live for Jesus, you need to simply stay close to the Holy Spirit. He will help you live out your faith at all times and in all situations. He is your helper in life, as Jesus promised! If you've been a Christian for a long time, is your life showing the evidence of having the Holy Spirit as your teacher? Or is there more evidence of another teacher? Do you need to renounce wrong teaching in your life? With the Holy Spirit as your teacher, you will bear good fruit. With wrong teachers, you will bear fruit of a different kind. Looking at the evidence of your life, outline the areas where you see bad fruit. Consider what teaching or worldview led to that result and come before God to turn away from wrong teaching from the past. Make a decision from this day forward to seek only the right guidance of the Holy Spirit and to walk in it.

Hey, here is Pastor Dan's sermon from CBC's morning service. Listen to it directly (or download to your computer) through the link below to archive.org (our hosting site) or subscribe to FBCW's "podcasts" channel. You can download the "podcasts" app to most of your smart phones by going to your app store (purple app with something that looks like a person on it). Once you have it on your phone just search for "Central Baptist Church, Niles, Ohio" and you should see a picture of the church. Sunday morning, we attempted to identify Jesus. I talked to my congregation about how people, through out the past 2000 years, have misidentified Christ. As Christians, it is our number one Job to tell others about Who Jesus Is! He is the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the Living God. AND, most importantly, He is the Savior of all the world. If you turn your complete trust over to Him then you will be saved!
