Welcome to The Freedom Project Podcast, In this episode, we challenge the hustle and grind mentality that dominates today's business culture. I explore a different kind of success story—one that feels more attainable, yet just as inspiring. Meet Laura Roeder, a self-made millionaire who built a $10 million net worth working part-time hours. No silver spoon, no superhuman intellect—just a killer mindset and a clear vision. Laura's journey defies the traditional narrative of endless sacrifice. She set aggressive goals, balanced work with life, and created financial, geographical, and time freedom—on her own terms. Her story is a powerful reminder that freedom isn't just for the Elon Musks of the world; it's within reach for you, too. I'll share the five key mindset shifts that helped Laura achieve her remarkable success, and how you can apply them to your own life to create the freedom you crave. Our DAILY Newsletter featured lead generation systems, real estate scripts, daily success plans and (YES) the notes or today's show. Best part? The newsletter is free! http://harrisrealestatedaily.com/ 1. Get the Real Estate Treasure Map and follow it! This is your personalized, fill-in-the-blank business and life plan. Identify what the goal is for you being in real estate. Are you working part-time until you can switch to full time or is real estate always going to be supplemental? What's the income required for you? How many transactions will it take to get there? 2. Become great at proactive lead generation immediately. A part-time agent who prospects is more efficient than a full-time agent who doesn't. The part-time agent will likely net a higher percentage of their income as well. *Lead with listings. Just because you're new, newer or part-time doesn't mean you have to be buyer-dependent. The more listings you have, the more freedom you have! 3. Track your numbers closely, using the White Board system we teach in Premier Coaching. It's the only way you'll know if you're on track, ahead, or behind on your financial goals. Concentrate heavily on lead generation and turning your leads into appointments. 90% of your time should be spent generating new business. 10% of your time will go to appointments. 4. Choose your broker wisely. Make a profit on your transactions in more than just one way. Choose a broker already operating in the 'Metaverse', that has revenue share opportunities and stock awards, as well as the immediate support you need. 5. Get your Pre Listing Package, Buyers Presentation, and Listing Presentation done, learned, and polished as soon as possible. Earn while you learn! Knowledge equals confidence while ignorance equals fear. These presentations will give you the confidence you need to succeed. 6. Know what makes you money in real estate. Lead Generation / Lead Follow-Up / PreQualifying / Presenting / Negotiating / Closing. Ignore everything else. 7. Use a Transaction Coordinator when you are averaging at least 2 transactions per month for 90 days consecutively. It's worth it for you not to be stuck in the weeds when you could be generating new business, presenting, and closing instead. 8. Know agents to refer business to if you get over-scheduled and track those referrals. Eliminate the feeling of ‘What if what I'm doing works really well…I'm not ready to handle it!', through referring if you have to. 9. Discuss with your spouse and family what it's going to take and get their support. Explain to them how your whiteboards work so they can see that your efforts are netting results. Keep them on your team. 10. Ask for help when you need it. Part-time agents are welcome in all of our coaching programs. We have pilots, firefighters, teachers, and even an actual rocket scientist. 11. Don't listen to anyone who tells you that you can't do it! It's not up to them, it's up to YOU. Adopt: ‘If it's meant to be, it's up to me!' mentality and take massive action daily.

I posted a reel on Instagram all about a week in the life with my schedule in the last year and a half as a working mom who owns a business but works part-time from home. Today, I want to expand on what I explain in that very short 90-second clip to tell you more of the nitty-gritty details about what my week is like running my business, taking care of my son, recording this being very pregnant, and how my team and my husband fit into this.We have had three days of childcare since November of 2022 and that's been working well for us. Before that, we had no childcare at all. I know I've been asked questions about it so today I want to talk about my work week, what it looks like running a multiple six-figure-year business on part-time hours while I work from home without full-time childcare. And we're also going to talk about that “40 hour work week” and some mindset stuff around that.In this episode, we are covering:Where the idea of a “40-hour workweek” even comes from and why entrepreneurs who have “ditched the 9-5” still follow it [6:04]Why I don't feel like I run my business “part-time” but I DO only work part-time hours [9:53]An EXACT BTS of my weekly schedule with only 3 days/week of childcare [12:13]6 tips or things to consider if you want more “life” in your work-life balance [30:16]I want this episode to show you what has been possible for me and what I believe is possible for you too! Making $100k+ a Year, working part time, with Cailen Ascher We all started our businesses so that we could make more and work less, right? That's essentially what every business origin story boils down to. And I'm right there with you. I recognized that as a 3rd year teacher, I wasn't ever going to make […] The post Episode 195: Making $100k+ a Year, Working Part Time with Cailen Ascher appeared first on Amanda Warfield.
I'm in shock that this year ended up being my highest-grossing year ever (by far). On paper, I've always made a little more than the year before, so it would make sense that this year would be my best year yet. But number projections don't account for life happenings. Specifically, being home with a newborn in the first quarter. Then opting for daycare just 2 days per week (because that's all I could emotionally handle) the second quarter, and slowly working up to now an average of 4 days per week in the fourth quarter. With all of that adding up to the equivalent of working part-time, I still made over $150k this year and I'm so proud of it. I get emotional thinking back because this year has been so tough with sleep exhaustion, breastfeeding for over 8 months, and the overall anxiety that comes with being a new mom needing to keep this little baby alive at all costs. Needless to say, work was not my main priority this year. But the systems I had put in before giving birth, combined with being forced to set very firm scheduling and budget boundaries, made this income goal possible. I hope you like this week's special Christmas episode where I get very real about what it took to maintain and grow my art business in 2023 as a brand-new mom. Get ready for the therapy session you didn't realize you needed today! I'm so excited to be sharing an Instagram Live I had last month with the amazing Jordan Stratton, an alumni from The Photographer's Path. Jordan is an incredible wedding photographer from Oklahoma and I can't wait for you to get to know her today. Jordan started TPP in Fall of 2022. A few weeks after joining, she quit her full-time job of 8 years to pursue photography. Talk about a MAJOR CHANGE right?! Some of you might be sweating just thinking about this transition. But Jordan didn't just blindly quit, she knew what she was doing. She quit her full-time job to work part-time while she actively pursued her photography dreams at the same time. But the best part?! She quit her part-time job and it only took her 8 months to become a FULL-TIME WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER! WHAT!?! Jordan's story is such an inspiration because it shows that there are so many different paths to take that can lead to your dreams and that not any one journey is the same as the next. You can make your dreams happen in a way that works for you. So, if photography is a dream in your heart, but quitting your day job seems out of reach, I hope this episode inspires you and shows you what's possible when you say yes!! Questions I'm asked a lot in my life and business: • What did you do to get to where you are in your business? • How do I open your emails (or listen to your podcast episodes) and feel like you wrote them personally for me? • How do you manage entrepreneurship and motherhood without burnout? • How do you stay profitable year after year? • How do you see growth and sustainability without hustle, without hurry and without working full-time hours? What you're about to learn on this episode is going to answer all of those questions and more. While I don't necessarily believe there are universal shortcuts we can make in our businesses, I do 100% believe that there are key areas of focus that will keep you on a path of peace and profitability while doing the work you're called to do – both as a mom and as an entrepreneur. There are many, many ways to build a solid business. When it comes to my own experience, there are 4 key areas of focus that have made a difference for me while working part-time and prioritizing quality of life over everything else. Anna Burgess Yang is a former product manager turned freelance content marketer, journalist, and workflow consultant from Chicago. She is passionate about educating and equipping people to take control of their remote work lives and their careers. Anna has been working from home for 16 years now and currently works from home full-time, which for her is about 25 hours per week. She's worked in different settings in the past and appreciated the results oriented workflow and prioritizes working efficiently now to get a lot done in a short time rather than feeling a need to sit at her desk 40 hours a week. In the past, she was at one time the only remote employee, then she was with a company that transitioned to fully remote, and she's worked for a company with global remote employees. She's experienced different work flows and worked synchronously and asynchronously and even hired new remote employees. This all helped Anna build foundational knowledge about "what works and what doesn't work" for her.In this episode, Anna tells a few stories including one about a cat who likes to get into the ceiling and another about how she first started working from home which involved quitting her job to take a new job, with her boss letting her work from home to keep her with the company. Awhile back, she wrote a LinkedIn post about remote work and her husband quitting his job when his employer ordered him back into the office, and he decided to get a different job instead, one that allowed him to continue to work remotely as they both like to be able to share in the kid-related stuff that comes up during the day. They've noticed some differences in expectations from remote employers with some being more flexible (small companies) and others requiring people to be on camera and in meetings all day. Anna now works for herself and prefers to embrace flexibility which allows her to maintain a good balance, even when she goes to pick up her children in the middle of the day or go grocery shopping on a Friday morning. She doesn't think about working early or late as an inconvenience, because she knows she is taking control over her own life.In her work as a workflow consultant, Anna helps solopreneurs and small businesses automate workflow with tools like Zapier. She writes about working remotely in her Substack as well. Anna's goal is to educate others about remote work, the future of work, and how work can be better. She typically focuses on writing about fintech and product-led content. She's found many collaboration tools to make remote work easier now, including project management tools, video tools for asynchronous communication, etc, that didn't exist when she first started working from home. You can find Anna in the following places:Website: https://annabyang.com/Twitter: https://annabyang.com/Gumroad with free resources for solopreneurs: https://annabyang.gumroad.com/Substack: https://annabyang.substack.com/The Linkedin post that went viral (4 million views) and got picked up by LinkedIn's Talent Blog: Why Professionals Quit to Find Flexible Work: https://www.linkedin.com/business/talent/blog/talent-engagement/viral-post-highlights-why-professionals-quit-to-find-flexible-work

We're excited to welcome XYPN member Chad Holmes, founder of Formula Wealth, on the show today. Chad always knew he would be an entrepreneur and discovered financial planning in high school when his grandparents invited him to sit in on a meeting with their financial advisor. He started his career in public accounting as an auditor, thinking it would help prepare him to be an advisor because accounting and finance were basically the same things, right? Not really, and Chad is glad to be on a different path now. Before ending up at an RIA actually doing financial planning, an unexpected pregnancy, and his wife getting a fellowship across the country led him to decide to launch his own firm. This was in 2020, in the middle of COVID, in a new state. Chad shared how they made it work as a family for him to be able to pursue his dream of entrepreneurship while also supporting his wife's career. Now he works part-time and has taken on the household responsibilities, and is building a great firm focused on helping clients that our industry has historically underserved.
