Hey folks. Trevor DeSaussure here again with Lyrics and Lattes to bring you another Hot 16...Oh my gawd!!! I get it! J Cole dropped an album. Do you know what- do you know what you guys sound like in my inbox right now? Jermaine? Yeah. Cole? Yes. (Cries in unintelligible) We're doing it today. We're doing it right now, Que the lyric! All the pain you hold makes you worth your weight in gold (hums in angelic). All the pain you hold makes you worth your weight in gold. Every negative thing that has happened in your life happened for a reason. It's also provided you with an opportunity. Learn and grow from your past mistakes. Because if you take the knowledge from those opportunities presented to you, you've made yourself worth your own weight in gold. Alright! I did it! I did it! There's your J.Cole breakdown. Don't ask me again. I ain't doing it again...I'm just playing. Yeah, probably will. I, unfortunately, have to do another rest in peace this week. Paul Mooney passed away yesterday. On behalf of the entire Lyrics and Lattes crew, rest in peace, rest in power to another legendary human being.

Millions of young adults are too often defined only by their struggles with unemployment, poverty, and crime. Traditionally known as “disenfranchised,” “marginalized,” “disconnected,” and “at risk,” these young people aspire to improve their lives and communities. These young people are typically defined solely by their challenges, not by their potential. They urgently need – and aspire to earn – knowledge, training, and opportunities that lead to long-term professional and personal success. Hey folks, Trevor DeSaussure here from Lyrics and Lattes to bring you another Hot 16. The past week has been hard for hip-hop. We laid DMX to rest, we lost Black Rob, and we lost Shock G. This is just a reminder that tomorrow is not promised. Do what makes you happy now. That all said, today's lyric is coming from Black Rob, from his song, Star in Da Hood. Ain't nun post-traumatic about it, it's just deep. It's like trying to live out in the suburbs and stay street. Every next level of your life will demand a different version of you. It's called growth, but there are some parts of the past that you need to leave behind you. If you're happy being stuck in the same stage of your life, so be it. But I know a lot of you aren't take certain lessons with you. Take certain people with you, but know when you need to make cuts. Growth and maturity are a key part of life. And after a while, the only thing holding you back from success is you. I've had to do a lot of RIP's lately. One final, one to DMX, an RIP to Black Rob, and an RIP Shock G. On behalf of the entire Lyrics and Lattes team, take care of yourselves everybody.

Used to let them take the wheel breath stinks to let him take the wheel and now I'm riding in Jesus whiiiiiiiip. Please don't trip over whatever's broken. This week we're going to be talking about forgiveness. Not just forgiving others, but forgiving yourself. Look what happened in the past happened in the past. There's nothing you can do about it. In Hinduism, not only do you need to forgive but you need to seek forgiveness. We figure this out across the world. Live, let, and learn. And become a better version of yourself today than what you were yesterday. And the only way you can do that is by making a couple of mistakes.
