Rickey Medlocke, an original and current member of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and frontman for southern indigenous rock band Blackfoot, released a new single on 1/19/2024 entitled, “Never Run Out Of Road” on storied record label Rock the Cause Records, to help provide funding, awareness, and resources for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) movement.   Per the artist's wishes a portion of proceeds from downloads and streams of “Never Run Out Of Road”, will be directed to the National Indigenous Women's Resource Center (NIWRC), an organization that works to end end gender based violence against Native American women, proceeds will also benefit other “Seeing Red” based causes, and the International Wolf Center,  TBA by Rickey Medlocke. “I want to give back to my native community through “Never Run Out Of Road”, and I want to educate others on the MMIW crisis and empower people to get involved”, says Rickey Medlocke who co-wrote and performs on the single.Being of self-identified Native American ancestry, specifically Lakota Sioux and Cherokee, Medlocke was inducted into the Native American Music Hall of Fame in 2008. Mother Mother are about to announce a true coast to coast Canadian tour that will bring the band from Victoria, BC all the way to Halifax and Moncton, with stops in Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Winnipeg, London, St. Catharines, Montreal in between.  The band have been on a whirlwind tour of the world, from Europe to the United States, and will be heading to Latin America, and Australia soon as well. This highly anticipated album marks a fitting finale to the recording legacy of one of rock's most iconic fixtures from the past 50 years. In a thrilling partnership with Frontiers Music, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT is set to captivate fans with a collection of reimagined and newly completed songs that span from 1978-2016. These musical treasures, long considered 'lost gems' by BLUE ÖYSTER CULT enthusiasts, were originally recorded between 1978 and 1983, except for one track from 2016, "If I Fell." Also included is the only known studio recording of their concert classic “Kick Out the Jams” (MC5 cover). Some of the material is from sessions workshopping material for an album, some is from performance rehearsals. All were recorded once in the hopes that someday they'd see the light of day. George Geranios, the band's original audio engineer and an integral part of the band's golden years, co-produced the original 1978-83 recordings along with BÖC. All were originally recorded on reel-to-reel analog tape. They were later transferred to digital audio, which is when modern AI and magical musical talents met and the collection of vintage multi-track recordings was de-mixed, re-mixed, and produced by Steve Schenck and Richie Castellano to become 'Ghost Stories. Work in the studio for the album was completed by Richie Castellano along with remaining original members Eric Bloom and Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser, both Albert Bouchard and Rick Downey appear on drums with additional overdubs recorded by Joe Bouchard. All these original lineup members appearing on 'Ghost Stories,' create a musical journey that traverses decades. The Jeremy White Show welcomes Journalist and Author Steve Rosen! Steve Rosen is a professional music journalist with a career spanning 50 years. During this period, he has published well over 1,000 articles in major periodicals originating from around the globe. Rosen was the West Coast correspondent for Guitar World magazine for four years during the seminal mid-‘80s, when he wrote eight cover stories—including three lead features on Edward Van Halen recognized as pivotal pieces on the legendary guitarist.    As a contributor to Guitar Player magazine, Rosen also wrote a prodigious 16 covers in a six-year span. A recognized authority on the eclectic world of Rock, Rosen has been tapped seven times to write books on several high-profile musicians, including Jeff Beck, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Black Sabbath, Free/Bad Company and Randy Rhoads.    The traveling troubadour's work has taken him to distant vistas in search of mysterious stories and elusive sagas—hand-selected to accompany numerous bands as a traveling wordsmith for the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Who, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Loggins & Messina, ZZ Top, Aerosmith, Lenny Kravitz, Alice Cooper, The Firm, Van Halen, and others.    Recently, Rosen's main focus has been organizing his incredibly extensive and rare collection of audio interviews dating back to 1973. The entire library represents well over 1,500 hours of content, with hundreds and hundreds of classic rock's most-engaging, enraging and entrancing characters, including Edward Van Halen. This archival process led to the unearthing of what Rosen called “The Twilight Tapes”—50 interviews representing hours of late-night phone calls with the Van Halen guitarist, who happened to become a very close friend over the years. “The Twilight Tapes” sparked the idea to sit down to write TONECHASER in 2020 and the rest, as they say, is rock and roll history.
