Formed in 2005, the band quickly garnered attention for their distinctive blend of metalcore, incorporating elements of deathcore and groove metal. The group was founded by vocalist Danny Leal, who remains the central figure of the band, known for his powerful growls and charismatic stage presence. The band released their debut album, The World Is Ours, in 2010 under Sumerian Records. This album set the tone for their musical direction, featuring heavy breakdowns, aggressive riffs, and a raw intensity that resonated with fans of the genre. Songs like "Intermission" and "Scarface" showcased their ability to merge brutal metal elements with catchy hooks, setting them apart from many of their peers. In 2012, they followed up with their second album, Red. White. Green., which continued to build on their established sound. The album's themes revolved around their Mexican heritage, with songs named after famous gangsters and cultural references, such as "Sin City" and "Once Upon a Time in Mexico." This unique thematic approach added a layer of depth to their music, further solidifying their identity in the metal scene.Upon a Burning Body gained wider recognition with their third album, The World Is My Enemy Now, released in 2014. This record featured a more polished production and showcased their growth as musicians. Interview by Kris PetersNew Zealand/Aotearoa metalcore quartet No Life announced themselves with their crushing 2022 debut EP Delinquent. Their fresh spin on established genres such as nu-metal, metalcore and hardcore almost dared you not to listen, with an aggressive and uncompromising sonic delivery of epic proportions. The band have followed that debut with their latest single, Obnoxious, which sees the band team up with vocalist Frankie Palmeri from Emmure.A cut-throat and aggressive offering from a band with a chip on their shoulder, Obnoxious is unapologetic at its core, calling out 'deadbeats' that leech off of others and carry little respect for those around them.HEAVY sat down for a chat with vocalist Connor Dickson to find out more about No Life and their music, starting by asking how people have liked the new single."It's been crazy," he smiled. "We didn't really expect too much. We always try to manage our expectations as much as we can, so we weren't really expecting too much. But, man, it's going off. The numbers are racking up, the video is racking up as well and we're super humbled. It's a great feeling."We ask Connor to tell us more about the musical side of Obnoxious."Obviously, we're big fans of Emmure," he offered. "Myself and DJ, the guitarist, we both love the song Gucci Prison by Emmure so we said we need to write a song like that. Then DJ wrote it so quickly and I heard it and said we have to get Frankie on it. I wrote the song just to call out deadbeats, but the more I think about it, it's probably a bit of a slight at my father and my upbringing, because he's a bit of an alcoholic and a bit of a partier. It's kind of taken its own shape, but it was meant to be a not-so-tongue-in-cheek call out of deadbeats, and I think a lot of people can probably relate to that."In the full interview, Connor talks more about the genesis of Obnoxious, how they got Emmure vocalist Frankie Palmeri involved, what he brought to the song musically, previous single Identity Crisis and if the two songs are part of a bigger picture, how the new material differs to the music on their previous EP Delinquent, their current tour and how it has been going, upcoming shows and more.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

The Black Dahlia Murder, Killswitch Engage, In Flames. UU. junto a bandas como Deftones, Thrice, Dredg, Funeral for a Friend y Story of the Year.

De la pagina de Maya: "Maya emerged in the summer of 2004 in San Jose, CA. Their formative years launched them to the same stage as some of the biggest names in hardcore as they prospered into prominent figures in the SF Bay Area local scene. Their close-to-home fanbase quickly expanded to reach across the world, which led to opportunities to tour across the country and throughout Latin Central America alongside heavy hitters including Terror, The Acacia Strain, Emmure, and more. These days, the band is tapping into their heritage to share their stories as first generation Mexican and African American musicians from Northern California. Their musical identity is fueled by DIY ethics, respect for their roots, and the determination to share the music they love with a culture that hasn't always understood it. Their struggle is their inspiration. After two successful album releases to build their name, the band has found their distinctive voice in the fierce world of hardcore and metal with their new record DESPIERTA (Awakening) due to release July 15, 2021 on Shark City Recordings" --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/conversaciones-de-altura/support

The time has finally come for Todd to embrace the float for a bonding trip with new co-workers while Arie gets lost in the comfot of his first new bed in YEARS. Todd keeps things Spot On, per usual, with his beer selection while Arie sticks to the Modern Times with his Hazy IPA. We're Hip To Be Scared with Ice Nine Kills, Waking the Cadaver arise from their grave with some filthy new material, and Lamb of God once again team up with beer titans Brewdog for another NA collab beer for some of our sharp points of discussion. Of course, our featured band is bringing Violence from the heat of Phoenix, Arizona to your speakers. This is the Dead Echo Vibe.  Featured Band: This week's episode features Violence from Dead Echo. Bio: Dead Echo is a five-piece American nu-metalcore band, and hailing from the heat of Phoenix, Arizona, they are out for blood. Drawing influence and approach from bands like Alpha Wolf, Darko US, Varials, Dealer, Degrader, and Emmure, Dead Echo is a force to be reckoned with straight from the outset, with nowhere to go but up. This is The Dead Echo Vibe.  What Dead Echo is drinking: Now, this was a tough one, because the five of us have a very eclectic palate. We all have a love for Mexican beers like Dos Equis & Modelo and San Tan Brewing Company beers naturally because we all are from the Southwest, and STBCo. is a local brewery to us. Another one we all enjoy is called “Big Blue Van”; a 5.4% ABV blueberry wheat beer! However, more specifically: Harry, our vocalist, loves Bud Light Lime and Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy. Brett, our lead guitarist, loves mixing Guinness with Killian's Red! Tyler, our rhythm guitarist, loves Kilt Lifter, and basically anything that's not an IPA. Adrian, our bassist absolutely loves San Tan Brewing Company's “Juicy Jack” Juicy Hazy IPA. Corey, our drummer, hands-down loves San Tan Brewing Company's seasonal “Sex Panther” 6.8% ABV Double Chocolate Porter. Make sure to give Dead Echo some love via any of the following: Apple Music | Spotify | YouTube Music | YouTube | Facebook | Instagram |  Jam Violence and other gnarly tracks from previous Featured Bands on our Bands to Watch For playlist Beers fueling this week's episode include Thirsty Planet Brewing Company's Spot On Pils and Modern Times Beer's Caliban Hazy IPA (Arie's pick.) Spot On Pils is a classic Czech-style pilsner, balanced with Bohemian pilsner malt, Saaz hops, and a crisp lemongrass finish. It's the perfect beer during a game of fetch or after a relaxing off-leash hike through the Greenbelt. Spot On Pils is spot on with it's 4.4% ABV. Thirsty Planet Brewing Company is located in Austin, Texas. Caliban is a part of Modern Times Beer's rotating Hazy IPA series with amazing color and even more amazing flavor with bright tropical fruit, berries, lemon, and crisp citrus that's practically guaranteed to improve your immediate point of view. Caliban comes in at 6.9% ABV, nice. Modern Times Beer is located in San Diego, California.
