This week on the BOX... DJ is all about fan support and what it actually looks like these days. He talks about his experience with true fans and fandom and how powerful those individuals can be in carrying a band from point to point. He also has a great deal of appreciation for them and knows just how important they are and is hella annoyed when other bands abuse that or take it for granted - and has plenty to say about it. He also tries to make the point - again - that the "hype" over what you're putting out isn't the only thing people are looking at, and that if your "actual" product doesn't hold up, it really doesn't matter how much you try and fake it. DJ also has a really big problem with inflating likes on YouTube and the silliness over at MMC. DJ also talks about advances in charger cable technology (riveting, i know) and has way too much to say about this week's new music. He thinks ADTR slept on the true single off the new record and appreciates (what he imagines to be) the process that Chevelle undertook when crafting "Endlessly" from NIRATIAS. He's also sweet on the new Dino Skatepark single! Live shows for R9 in June (maybe?), HERricanes and Benjamins, songs about last songs and MORE! This ain't your mom's lunchbox. Sadly, despite paying full royalties on the BOX, the RIAA "antipiracy" department has rules against using copyrighted material without permission on the podcast replay, so you won't hear anything except direct submissions here, but you can still catch all the music from the show when the BOX runs live, Thursdays at noon on 99WNRR.com #onthebox Be social with DJ and Revel 9: https://www.revel9.com Music: Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/y4pjyokr Apple: https://tinyurl.com/yy6od4mz Physical: https://revel9.com/store Social: YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/revel9band FB: https://www.facebook.com/revel9 IG: http://www.instagram.com/revel9band/ TW: https://www.twitter.com/revel9 #youtuber #revel9 #hardrocklunchbox #todaysrant #99wnrr #streamingradio #radiohost #cuurentevents #culture #lifestyle

A Day To Remember's Neil Westfall and photographer extraordinaire Adam Elmakias join the show to chat about tour life with Johnny. They discuss their new podcast "Don't Shit on the Bus" which acts as a guide for those who want to get on the road and tour. Here's a spoiler: rule number one is simple - DON'T SHIT ON THE BUS! Neil discusses new ADTR music, and how the pandemic has affected their recording process. The trio is then joined by "the man behind the shadows" Marvin Torres, longtime friend of the Avenged Sevenfold camp & tour manager for A Day To Remember. Marvin connects the dots for Johnny, Adam, and Neil by recalling a drunken series of events that puts them all in Atlanta at the same time without even realizing it. Another spoiler: it ultimately ends with Johnny bringing home a t-shirt from the Clermont Lounge... (go ahead and throw that one in the Google machine kids). All of this plus an update from Fletcher, Marvin taking on 100 McNuggets, the most awkward meet & greet experience possible, and much more on another round of Drinks With Johnny!
On episode thirty eight of Holy Ghost Notes, Matt and Tim bring on their friend Alex Shelnutt (of A Day To Remember) and it goes to 11! The guys discuss the difficulties of progressing in a world seemingly standing still, and Alex tells of his recent wedding that didn't quite go as planned. Alex also shares about his start as the drummer of ADTR and answers some listener questions. Hint: Listen for the secret ending!
Neil Westfall keeps moving. Although much of his ADTR plans were put on hold, including a North American tour with Slipknot, he has quickly built a thriving, music-based Twitch community (and the computer to support it), and is close to launching a restaurant with his wife, Mary. Neil joins Matt, Jordan, and Justin from Orlando, Florida, in his beautifully lit and professionally shot studio. Get ready for the bullet points, baybeeee!!! • The importance and evolution of ADTR's live production • If the band is considering live concert streams • How the band strategically invested in themselves early on • Understanding the strengths of each member to make the whole stronger • The importance of community building on Twitch and for bands • Providing fans access and experiences he desired from his favorite musicians • His passion for building computers • Taking advantage of our time during the pandemic • Meeting his wife on tour with blink-182 • The process of opening a new vegan-based restaurant with his wife • Similarities between bands and restaurants You can look at our faces while listening to this conversation! https://www.youtube.com/chocolatecroissants We want to connect with you! This week on the BOX... DJ has a problem with the way he handled a client so he drags all of us down memory lane with him. He reflects on a time where he didn't handle something "correctly" at the ripe old age of 16 that still bothers him today. Don't worry, he also points out how ridiculous that is. He also seems to be OK with violence on TV as long as it's just Annie punching Artie. DJ also has a new found affection for K-Pop -specifically for their fans. He highlights a few recent "moderations" the group has made to our social landscape and thinks everyone of good conscience should take note and learn what a few million motivated - but bored - superfans can accomplish if they want to. Newly found REVEL 9 videos, why Orlando sucks, great bands that used to be and MORE! This ain't your mom's lunchbox. Music from ADTR, The Black Clouds, Taking Back Sunday, Red Handed Denial, Know Your Enemy, Dead Sara, Thrice, The Veer Union, Tallest Trees In The Universe, Craving Strange and MORE! #onthebox
There's no other band on this earth quite like The Ghost Inside. They've overcome one of the most tragic events ANYONE could ever go through and they've returned to the music scene with what we've dubbed the PERFECT comeback album which is out on Friday and to celebrate, we grabbed drummer Andrew Tkaczyk for a chat all about it. Join podcast host Browny as their pair discuss the tragedy the band overcame, their slight deviation from the metalcore genre that made them a household name and, despite the curveball life threw at them, how they jumped back on the musical horse and refused to give up. Turns out Andrew is also a mad keen horror movie fan and you have to hear about some of the incredible memorabilia he's collected over the years, including one piece which manages to scare the shit out of anyone who sees it for the first time. We also take a look at the chaos across America surrounding the wrongful death of George Floyd, the serious issue in our own backyard with over 400 deaths of Indigenous Australians in police custody (which have gone unanswered) and the tracks I Prevail, Fever 333 and Sum 41 released over the past week which are more important now, than ever. There's also New Music from Emmure, In Hearts Wake, Attila and Northlane, throwbacks from The Beautiful Monument, A Day To Remember, Bring Me The Horizon and more! #WoSUATW #TheGhostInside #TGI #EpitaphRecords #InHeartsWake #Polaris #AlphaWolf #Emmure #Attila #BringMeTheHorizon #BMTH #Northlane #TheBeautifulMonument #ADTR #ADayToRemember #IPrevail #Fever333 #Sum41 #TheShowMustBePaused #InThisTogether2020 #WallOfSoundAU

It's going to be A Day To Remember! Well, literally since we are doing our top songs from the Ocala, FL geniuses that mashed up Metalcore & Pop Punk way back in the early 2000's. Our guest this week, is none other than Jason's son...Romeo "Bones" Smith. Listen in as we discuss all things ADTR. From starting out with concert fights due to half the crowd being "Blink 182" fans and the other half being "Hatebreed" fans...brutal mix, to headlining their own festival...Self Help. It's amazing what they've been able to pull off. - Also, we discuss benefits of cover songs, why they're in Jason's Top 10 All-Time (Bands), their uncanny songwriting and melody building, wtf is a "part pumper"?, The Hourglass album, Mt. Rainier...actually there's a strange geography Tangent Train in here somewhere...1958, how Romeo got his middle name, "where's Vincent?", and one of (if not THE) first "Ours is, ours is."...shoutout to The Jasta Show lol. Did Romeo just curse in front of Jason...? - Special shoutout to Jake Rowe, Lincoln Marti, Conrad Marcayda and Viktor Wilt. - Theme Song: Godhammered

Helloooo! We've hit double digits! Thank you so much for your support so far, it's super cool! This week, we have a longer one for you. The bears welcome their first guest on the show, Eddie Double Gs. Panda kicks the show off by informing us as to how the upcoming A Day To Remember album got its name. And speaking of music, was Ringo Starr of The Beatles fame a good drummer? Our resident drummer and random fact machine Polar Bear has facts to help you decide. Blitz has a legend this time! It's the true story of Wojtek, a bear who served in the Polish army during World War Two. He liked beer, he saw action, and was a bear. Did I mention he was a bear?! And lastly, GG and Panda do a hot wing challenge inspired by The Hot Ones. There's some kind of units, Mad Dogs, and mega death or something. Panda was hurt for this. Enjoy!
