In this episode on "Privacy and Blockchain" Ash Costello points out the challenges that blockchain entities face in complying with GDPR requirements due to the inherent characteristics of blockchain and distributed leger technologies, such as immutability and global accessibility.Ash proposes several potential strategies for mitigating risk through transparent disclosure and informed consent for the use of personal data.
NEW YEARS DAY singer Ash Costello joins us on this week's edition of The Loaded Radio Podcast NEW YEARS DAY announced their fifth studio album “Half Black Heart” in late 2023, following the release of the tracks “Vampyre” and “Secrets”. The record also features the band's 2022 hit “Hurts Like Hell” and more recent single “I Still Believe”. Last fall they also embarked on the “Kiss Of Death” tour with IN THIS MOMENT and ICE NINE KILLS, in addition to being featured on WWE NXT‘s “Halloween Havoc”. Kerrang! magazine counts NEW YEARS DAY among an elite handful of bands inspiring the next generation. Led by “the vibrant force of nature that is frontwoman Ash Costello,” NEW YEARS DAY unleash anthems of discontent and empowerment, delivered with gothic flair and theatrical bombast. Saints and sinners, victims and victors. In sound and vision, NEW YEARS DAY walk the line between darkness and light. The band's duality comes to fruition on “Half Black Heart”, an unrepentant and unashamed album championing discovery, from the darkest secrets to one's inner strength. Unrestrained fury collides with arena-ready glamor, confrontational DIY passion, and melodic hooks. “Hurts Like Hell”, “Vampyre”, “Bulletproof”, “Fearless”, the title track, and the rest of “Half Black Heart” join an already impressive catalog of songs, like “Come For Me”, “Skeletons”, “Kill Or Be Killed” and “Shut Up”. Fans have streamed “Angel Eyes” more than 14 million times on Spotify alone. “Victim To Villain” (2013),“Malevolence” (2015) and “Unbreakable” (2019) deeply resonate with listeners who cherish them as timeless keepsakes, marking different times in their own personal evolution. It's because Costello, who skillfully conjures horror and comic book aesthetics as allegory, is one of them. In cinematic music videos, transcendent live performances, and daily interaction (virtual or in-person) with like-minded misfits, this band makes pleasure from pain. Even when it hurts like hell. In the podcast, Ash Costello talks about the “reunion” of NEW YEARS DAY‘s classic lineup, how the band got involved with the WWE and Rhea Ripley, boring RAMMSTEIN after parties and tons more.
Today we are joined with Ash Costello of New Years Day to talk about their latest album Half Black Heart and have a soulful chat about brining your dreams to life. From a shy 14 girl year old girl imagining being a rockstar to singing in from of 75 Thousand people at WrestleMania. We hear about her growth as an artist, the experience of playing Rhea Ripley's entrance music in the WWE, New Years Day bringing song ideas to life, her thoughts on fans having tattoo's of her, and advice for anyone trying to make it in the music industry.
We were very fortunate to have Ash Costello from New Years Day on the podcast to talk about their new album, "Half Black Heart". Enjoy! On this episode of the Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman speaks to Ash Costello from New Year's Day live at Aftershock, in Sacramento, California. The first thing Pipeman talks about is how people had been saying that a girl can't perform Hostile but they rocked it. Ash said she was advised not to do it because of the potential for comments but they feed off the hate and just want to do it more when that happens. New Year's Day is currently on tour and have just wrapped a tour with Hailstorm who are also performing at Aftershock. They have a small run of Headline shows coming up before returning home to finish off the album. Touching on the Pandemic, Ash says she thinks the music industry has taken it the hardest with how long it took to get back on its feet, but they're so happy to be back playing live music, but sad their run is nearly over already. Finally, Ash pleads with you to call your local radio station and ask them to play the new single which has just come out and will be on their upcoming album. It's called Hurts Like Hell and is on Active Rock Radio right now so be sure to ask them to play it. On Fresh is the Word, we like to deliver wisdom through great stories from the minds of bright creatives of pop culture. Through those stories, we like to dissect the journey of our guests and present actionable lessons and advice for our listeners no matter what career or avenue of artistry they pursue. The guest for this episode is Nikki Misery, guitarist of the metal band New Years Day, who dropped their latest album Unbreakable earlier this year. New Years Day is currently on their own headlining tour and will be on select dates of Godsmack's USA tour in July and Halestorm's European tour in November. During our chat, we talked about the making of the new album, the theatrics of the band, their connection to their fans, his upbringing in music, how he met Ash Costello and joining New Years Day, the lessons learned bing in this band, much more! Each episode, the guest is asked to suggest someone from their life/career that should be on Fresh is the Word that would have good stories to tell. Nikki Misery chose Joe Letz, former drummer of the band Combichrist, who parted ways with the band earlier this year. Ash Costello and her New Years Day bandmates Austin Ingerman, Nikki Misery, and Frankie Sil mine a dark, heavy sound that has embraced a pop-metal approach on their solid new album Unbreakable. For this episode, we speak about their mutual love for horror movies as well as her advocacy for animal rescue. Conducted at the offices of RED Music in NYC, our conversation stretches from the singer's intense childhood ("I was too dark, too young") to her leg tattoos, their spooky band adventures, her stance against animal breeding, and how she adopted her pets.
