I‘ve been following Jamz for a few years now, and I've had the pleasure of watching her evolve and elevate her career in many different ways. Jamz Supernova made her name on BBC Radio 1Xtra and Radio 6 music. Jamz is also a presenter, label head, journalist, podcast host and A&R scout. In today's episode, Jamz will teach you the importance of making space for your passion. She shares how she's funded her career as a DJ and kept up with the trends in her industry. Jamz also describes how she allows curiosity to drive her career. Let's get to itJamz has such great energy, and can we talk about that gem she dropped so casually about how she decides where to put her energy? Here's a reminder -It needs to feed my soul, raise my profile or feed my bank account. I'm putting that on my mirror. It was great to hear how she's balancing motherhood with her work. It's wild how similar we are in that respect. I highly recommend following Jamz on @Jamzsupernova on Twitter or Instagram.Thank you so much for listening. I hope this half an hour has made you think, reflect and contemplate what your next step should be.I'd like to encourage you to think about one person who would benefit from the messages shared today, and I'd love for you to share this episode with them right now! Can she add value to the project?Georgia's routine includes:Using a Lumie light alarm.Writing Morning pages to get all her thoughts out on paper at least 3 times per week.Creating a to do list/ plan for her day.Applying makeup to feel ready. Not working in bed.Special mentions: Natrellatree.com who sent me a free self-care tree. Toggl, a time management app. Good Time a productivity app.
I have to apologise for this episode in advance. The audio file with my voice got corrupted, and we lost all of my audio so unfortunately, this episode doesn’t have the same conversational feel as the rest. The show must go on, and I genuinely believe it’s better to be consistent so I’ve made it work.Leslie had so much great advice and wisdom to share with budding cartoonists. I’ve narrated all of the best. The episode is broken down into ten parts, and you’ll learn how you can make money from your drawings, how to resolve conflicts when you’re collaborating, how to get your comics and illustrations published and much more.To find out more about Leslie visit milkmanner.tumblr.com or follow her on Instagram @dairyfree. You can purchase Snotgirl on Amazon; I recommend the collection. Make sure you’re subscribed to Wanna Be on iTunes, Spotify, google play, acast or your favourite podcast app to catch the next episode featuring NYT Bestselling Graphic novelist and illustrator Eleanor Davis.Follow WannaBe @WannaBepodcast on Twitter and Instagram.Visit wannabepodcast.com to read extended show notes and free downloads.

We talk very openly about our experiences of trauma, white feminism and the damage of well-meaning liberals in the workplace. Dr Victoria shares her solution for how young black women can navigate professional spaces as the only one. I’ll say this now if you’re the kind of person that winces or gets uncomfortable in discussions about race- you might as well just leave this episode alone. It serves a particular need, and if you’ll have difficulty understanding or accepting, then I’d prefer you just hit stop now. I don’t have not one second for you following this outpouring of very real hurt and pain.If you’re struggling with any of what was discussed feel free to email Dr Victoria, she is incredible supporter and champion of women and swooped in and saved me when I had a very public burn out.Email: v.showunmi@ucl.ac.uk
