As of 2018, only about one in ten Mexican/Mexican American/Xicanx (MMAX) students graduate with a college degree. Drawing on in-depth interviews, participant observations, pláticas, document analyses, and literature on race, space, and racism in higher education, Why you always so political?: The Experiences and Resiliencies of Mexican/Mexican American/Xicanx Students in Higher Education (Viva Oxnard, 2024) by Dr. Martín Alberto Gonzalez documents the narratives of 20 MMAX undergraduate students at a private, historically and predominantly white university in the Northeast United States. Utilizing counterstorytelling as a research method, Martín Alberto Gonzalez argues that the racially hostile campus environment experienced by MMAX students at their respective university manifests itself as a form of educational-environmental racism. By providing culturally relevant counterstories about racism in higher education, this book offers an accessible tool for teaching and learning about the harsh realities of Students of Color who attend predominantly white universities. This interview was conducted by Dr. Miranda Melcher whose new book focuses on post-conflict military integration, understanding treaty negotiation and implementation in civil war contexts, with qualitative analysis of the Angolan and Mozambican civil wars. In the first half, you'll largely hear from Ken and Evan about the benefits of the Tableau Community, with Alberto jumping in about working with Tableau Partners. In the second half, Evan and Alberto start off talking about Tableau Pulse and AI at Tableau Conference, plus other odds and ends throughout.

Many of us were riveted Friday, watching Marjorie Traitor Greene testify at a hearing in GA as she lied her way an unending stream of "I don't remembers" and I don't recalls" as she channeled other ethically challenged Republicans before her, like Alberto Gonzalez' famous 72 denials of memory. Today, John Bonifaz of Free Speech for People, the group representing the plaintiffs in this and other cases challenging members of Congress who participated in the 1-6 insurrection, returns for a recap of what transpired Friday and what we've learned since. Then, as Russia's war against Ukraine enters its third unrelenting month, I'll speak with Christopher Blattman, professor of Global Conflict Studies at the University of Chicago and author of the new book, "Why We Fight: The Roots of War and the Paths to Peace"

What up everyone!! Welcome to another episode of LEMeKNOW My guest on today's episode is Dr. Martín Alberto Gonzalez Dr. Martín Alberto Gonzalez is a Xicano raised in Oxnard, California. He completed his undergraduate studies at California State University, Northridge, then earned his doctorate from the Cultural Foundations of Education Department at Syracuse University, where he became the first Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellow in the university's history. Because he personally observed his older siblings and his community's talents and interests be denied and repressed due to a lack of resources and opportunities, he became interested in issues related to social justice. As a teacher-scholar-activist, Dr. Gonzalez takes pride in telling stories that challenge stereotypes and empower his community and communities alike. Back in 2018 he came on to promote his first book 21 Miles of Scenic Beauty ... and Then Oxnard since he came on the first time he has published his second book The Key to the City | La Llave de la Ciudad. The key to the city is about Jacobp. Jacobo comes from a Spanish-speaking home in Oxnard, California. Even though his parents speak Spanish exclusively, Jacobo is embarrassed and ashamed to speak Spanish in public, especially in front of his friends. But one day, this changed for him during a bus ride to the store. During this trip, Jacobo learns that he plays a very important role in his community. Since he speaks both English and Spanish, he is able to help out Spanish-speaking people like his parents navigate their daily lives. Our guest today is Alberto Gonzalez-Otero, the chief purpose officer and founder of Just on Purpose located in the Hague area of the Netherlands. Just on purpose is a company committed to helping organizations leaders and teams to discover their purpose and transform. Alberto is also Chairman of the Board for The World in Your Classroom, a not for profit organisation that helps students in broadening their knowledge and mindset about other cultures and countries. He shot Lt. Col Michael Bell, Sr's son in the head execution style. Kenosha police officer Alberto Gonzalez, that is. Michael Bell, Jr. was unarmed, at his home, and was being roughed up by Kenosha police, again, this time in his driveway. Michael Bell Jr. died from a single round fired into his temple, killing him instantly. Since his son's gang-style killing in 2004, the former combat pilot has worked to bring justice, not only to the Bell family, but to all the other families whose loved ones have been killed by cops, whose departments investigated themselves, and predictably found no wrongdoing in their actions. https://thefreethoughtproject.com/decorated-war-veteran-michael-bell-cover-up/ Subscribe to more videos:https://www.youtube.com/c/PoliceBrutalityWorldwide Check out my Fiverr link: https://www.fiverr.com/kingemjay?up_rollout=true My blog: https://policebrutalityworldwide.blogspot.com/ My Website: http://www.policebrutalityworldwide.com Check this Surf roam link: https://surfroam.com?tap_a=22019-573852&tap_s=492427-1313ee My paypal link: www.paypal.me/kingemjayconsulting Other links:http://raphead.com/profile/DJEMJAY Mining site: https://cryptouniverse.io/en/r/EQGGJZEO https://blackjunction.com/?ref=KINGEMJAY https://blackjunction.tv/@KINGEMJAY Get CryptoBrowser:https://get.cryptobrowser.site/7009526 My podcast: https://anchor.fm/king-emjay PI Network: https://minepi.com/KingEmjay3355 https://www.karatbars.com/?s=kingemjay https://www.karatbars.com/shop/?s=kingemjay https://www.karatbars.com/landing/?s=kingemjay https://lp1.kb-universe.com/?referer=kingemjay https://www.dualmine.com/?ref=88302 https://baioafrikstan5.ning.com/?xgi=OPNVkQvdmcVWBW CashApp:£DaOfficerofdadamnlaw http://chng.it/kT9ygt7kPn https://client.iqmining.com/rf/190f2a5fe1f09 . . . . . . . . #PBWWChannel #Lt.ColMichaelBell Feel supa dupa free to contact me at my email: kingemjay3355@gmail.com Stay melanin

What up everyone, Welcome to another episode of LEMeKNOW My guest on today's episode is Martin Alberto Gonzalez Martin is the Author 21 Miles of Scenic Beauty... and then Oxnard: Counterstories and Testimonies. Despite its wonderful everyday weather and beautiful surf-ridden beaches, Oxnard, California, has a reputation of being dangerous and demoralizing due to its gang presence. In this book, Martín Alberto Gonzalez takes this reputation head on through a series of social justice-oriented stories loosely based on his experiences and observations growing up in Oxnard as a first-generation Xicano. Rather than focusing on everything that deems the city bad, such as its overabundance of undereducated Brown people, Martín flips the script through counter storytelling and testimonies in order to shed light on various injustices directly impacting his community, such as inequitable schooling practices, segregation, gentrification, and many more. Don't forget to follow him on: FB: Martín Alberto Gonzalez IG: @martymoose Twitter: @VivaOxnard Email: VivaOxnard@gmail.com Store: http://vivaoxnard.bigcartel.com http://www.amazon.com/dp/0692980458 On this episode, I sit with Martin and find out why he wrote this book. We dissect the book without ruining it for you. His goal is to shine a different light on the city that he grew up in and hopes to show that there is beauty there. He is aware of the reputation of violence in his city but he argues that that is not all that the city should be know about. I also say something that might offend some people but I was not done with males. Like the podcast! 5 starts please!!! We are on iTunes/ SoundCloud/ Google Play I hope you guys enjoy!!!
