And you're right, the movie is already pretty gay and we do love #Blankie; but it is honestly impossible for us to ignore Alice's BIG LESBIAN CRUSH on her best friend Jess. Alice literally murders the first guy we see try to touch Jess. And Jess choosing to marry a straight up diaper man isn't exactly a strong endorsement for her heterosexuality either.  We talk about gay magnetism a lot, and it is inconceivable to us that this friend group only has 2 gay girls in it. Jane was the last child to receive a handmade blanket from her great grandmother. Pink and blue, festooned with angels and sprinkled with stars that sparkled in the light, the much-loved blanket was the little girl's constant companion.   This childhood treasure became even more important when Gramma Ann passed away—a reminder of her love for her family, and her faith in God.   Jane's blanket kept her warm in sickness and in health, but the washing machine proved its eventual undoing. One day, the last remaining fragment of Gramma Ann's very last blanket was lost.   Ephesians 2:8–9 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”   A few years after the remaining bit of Jane's ‘Gramma Ann Blankie' was lost to time (but not to memory), her mom stumbled across the best yard sale find of all time: the very same blanket, likely created from a quilting kit, in brand new condition. Jane and her mother cried together right there in a stranger's driveway, certain that Gramma was smiling down on them from Heaven in that moment of discovery. It was the best two dollars the pair ever spent.   Grace can show up when we least expect it—even in the form of a long-lost family heirloom returned to us in the unlikeliest of ways.   Let's pray.   Lord, your grace is a constant delight. You are faithful to us when we seek Your face, and Your gift of grace shows up in incredible ways. Thank you. In Jesus' name, amen.

There are habits that make us feel comfortable; habits that let us escape a stressful life. Because this habit has become our comfort or routine, we don't bother to assess whether it is healthy or not, or we realize it is a bad habit, but won't admit it to ourselves or others. It is always up to us to decide on the kind of life we would want to live; whether we want an isolated life where we use addiction or a bad habit as an escape, or a life filled with people who will help us overcome our struggles and push us to find joy in the chaos. Living a life free of bad habits and addiction begins with the decision to draw a line in the sand where we go beyond what we consider to be our 'limit.' It's when we've made the decision to go to a point where we're willing to go to any length to grow and heal. In Episode 115, Andrew talks about what it means to draw a line in the sand in order to break free from a bad habit or addiction, as well as the value of self-love. There will be seasons in our lives when we don't feel as connected to ourselves as we usually do, times when we can become hard on ourselves in our desire to ‘perfect' ourselves. Yet this ends up hurting us. Self-love is a practice, not a goal. It will be difficult to practice self-love if we punish ourselves for our mistakes rather than learn from them. The virus has reduced us to emotional children with adult minds. “Where’s my Blankie” is a global psychological cry. Having lost the familiar rituals of home, office and school – the simple pleasure of the coffee shop or an after-work drink – we rush to establish new ones: we’re cooking, we’re gardening, we’re setting up virtual dinners, we’re downloading meditation apps. We’re establishing new practices for family time. We’re even taking this literally and buying weighted blankets for the comfort they bring. There are new rituals for mourning in a time of social distancing. And of course, children are struggling as their daily routines have vanished.
