It's here - the final episode in the three-part mini-series on Risk Management Systems and specifically the Corporate Governance Risk CGR Foundation software. We've heard about the founding of the software and what the problem was that it was designed to address, and we've also heard from a very satisfied client in Funlab via the Chief Financial Officer, Andrew Wilson. In this episode, Leo Arouca General Manager Australia for CGR, rejoins us to talk about the why - why organisations need to move away from Excel-based risk registers and adopt a dedicated risk management tool. There are a stack of benefits that businesses will see straight away - visibility of the risk environment for the organisation, understanding the most important risks in terms of focusing resources, ability to manage access by role and track who has made changes, to name just a few.Leo also very generously shares a view of the future and some of the additional capabilities that are being baked into the tool as you listen to this program - suffice to say, there are exciting times ahead!Once again, thanks for taking the time to listen.Send us a textContact ABM Risk Partnership to optimise your risk management approach: email us: info@abmrisk.com.au Tweet us at @4RiskCme Visit our LinkedIn page https://www.linkedin.com/company/18394064/admin/ Thanks for listening to the show and please keep your guest suggestions coming!

IndyCar may have had the week off, but Speed Street is still reporting for duty covering all the latest news in the open wheel scene. Conor Daly and Chase Holden reflect on the television ratings for the Detroit race and the public response to Conor's critiques of the course layout. They also react to the news that Formula One will be directly competing with the 2026 running of the Indianapolis 500 by moving the Canadian Grand Prix to the same day. Conor expresses that the move from the FIA appears to be a blatant show of disrespect for the history of the 500, and feels motorsports fans are being cheated out of a celebrated tradition of the Greatest Day in Motorsports.Chip Ganassi Racing pilot Kyffin Simpson joins the show to discuss his recent first career top-five finish in Detroit and what his time has been like with the CGR team. Kyffin breaks down the pit strategy that helped bring him to the front of the pack and what he had to do to remain in the top five for the duration of the race. He also speaks on the steep learning curve and sheer amount of information he has been absorbing at CGR from having experienced teammates like Scott Dixon and Alex Palou. The guys chat about what areas Kyffin would like to improve in and what his goals are for the rest of the season. Kyffin also gives listeners some insight to who he is outside of the car, as he chats about island life and his love for water sports.

In this episode, Julia Dickenson explores the growing popularity of dupes and lookalikes, how this is impacting the luxury, fashion and cosmetics sector, and what practical strategies are available to brand owners to tackle this challenging trend. Legal avenues such as non-traditional trademarks, designs, copyright, and unfair competition are being used to combat dupes, but these can be complex and less clear-cut than traditional avenue and brands are seeking more creative ways to bring cases and address this growing problem.

As we continue to roll into the IndyCar off season, Conor Daly and Chase Holden are back on Speed Street with the latest driver silly season developments. Last week saw Kyffin Simpson confirmed as the third and final Chip Ganassi Racing driver for 2025, pairing him with Scott Dixon and Alex Palou. Prema Racing has solidified its two driver line-up by adding former Formula 3 Champion Robert Shwartzman to its operation to join Callum Ilott. Conor also sheds light on why teams like Penske and Arrow-McLaren are testing unsigned drivers in the off season despite already having a set line-up for 2025.Open wheel legend and three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti joins the show to talk about his post-driving role at Chip Ganassi Racing and how the current day of IndyCar compares to his era behind the wheel. Dario comments that when he watches races at home as a fan, he believes that IndyCar's on-track product is second to none. He speaks on the open wheel cars of the past and how the high-horsepower was a challenge for drivers to deal with. He and Conor relate on how the old IndyCar engines sound iconic and wish there was a way for the current hybrid systems to be tuned to sound similar. Dario explains what his week to week duties are at CGR and how he works with current drivers in the paddock to improve performance. He also reflects on his 2006 season in NASCAR and how it humbled and inspired him to become a better racer upon his return to the open wheel world.

Conor Daly's “have helmet, will travel” 2024 tour continues as he was in competition at last weekend's 8 Hours of Indianapolis Intercontinental GT Challenge event. He joins co-host Chase Holden to discuss the nuances that he and Alex Palou experienced in making the transition from a Dallara IndyCar to a GT3 sports car. He explains that ultimately a fuel pick-up failure took him and the Random Vandals team out of contention after running in the top-five for most of the event. They also discuss the star-studded endurance kart race which took place at New Castle Motorsports Park, IndyCar's announcement of the 2026 Arlington Street Race and the upcoming hybrid test at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The newest member of the Meyer Shank Racing team Marcus Armstrong joins the show to discuss how the new technical alliance between MSR and Chip Ganassi Racing has moved him to the number-66 Dallara for the 2025 IndyCar season. Marcus explains that he has worked with MSR veteran Felix Rosenqvist in the past and the integration from team to team has been smooth thus far. He also opens up about the difficulty in adapting to oval racing after spending the majority of his career progressing up the Formula ladder system in Europe. Marcus explains that even though he had resources like Dario Franchitti at CGR, he as a driver still had to go out on the track and perform, and his first experiences at tracks like Indianapolis and Milwaukee felt like a whirlwind. Marcus is excited to be a part of the IndyCar Series though and hopes that the championship trail will take them to new venues across the globe in the future.

hh Renergen* (JSE code: REN), now what? Late September the price started breaking down and end September a Tweeter started posting about them. I'm not going to defend every point raised, that's the job of the company and after an initial poor response, Monday saw a more detailed SENS. Paid research. Ultimately all research is paid for. Sometimes it is paid for by the company and here the issue is disclosure. I think the bigger issue is a complete lack of disclosure in our industry. By FinTwit or the fancy analysts, albeit assume the latter is always talking their book, which is fair. Perhaps the biggest point from this last few weeks is; Know your stock. Like really know it. When I buy a new holding I put together a lis of 3-5 things I like and 3-5 risks. I may be wrong on any of them, but it makes me do the digging and at least have a decent view of both sides of the story. Careful of "new" news. It may be accurate (or it may not), but it also often lacks detail which maters. This was mostly the case with the Twitter news on the stock. Now what for Renergen Results next Friday. LNG is flowing. Helium is not, but company has said they expect the leak repaired this month. In short they are in the same place as they were before all this started. BUT. They need to do a US capital raise and list in the Nasdaq. A low share price makes this much more dilutive. How this will play out I have no idea. I hold and continue to hold Renergen*. It was never going to be smooth sailing and the risks are real. Yes they have the gas and helium in the ground, phase one is half working but phase two is large, complex and expensive with real risks. Simon Shares Middle East war could get really bad for inflation and rates if oil prices rise markedly. Decent Calgro M3* (JSE code: CGR) results. Horror Pick n Pay (JSE code: PIK) results. Local ETF total returns over the last five years. * I hold ungeared positions.
OK. The season is over and it took awhile to get this one out. But the wait is rewarded with an extra long episode! (insert sarcastic comment here). The Boys look at Kirby's dulcid tones, the Argentine controversy, the 5th CGR car and GodTV. Kirby shocks Justin over Danica/ Truex. Analysis and commentary on the 24 schedule and what it means. Kirby talks about engine manufacturers and their games and puts forth an extremely interesting theory. Justin makes his apologies to Indycar drivers. ECR driver battle. F1 without Max? Long but good! @hiroindycar
The guys are settling into the off season, talking about the usual (airport travel), and the less usual (racing).
