Lent is here—the season we stop pretending we’re fine and admit that life is…a lot. It’s forty days of naming what’s fragile, walking toward the hard truths, and resisting the urge to skip straight to the happy ending. In this special Ask Kate Anything episode, Kate answers your biggest, messiest questions: How do we stay soft in a brutal world? How do we practice Lent when life is already exhausting? What do we do when faith unravels? And because sometimes words aren’t enough, singer-songwriter Katelyn Tarver stops by to perform her song “Sh*t Happens,” an anthem for all of us who know that life doesn’t always make sense. In this episode, Kate discusses: Why Lent is for the weary, the doubting, and the grieving. How to hold both grief and hope. A faith that doesn’t demand you have it all figured out. You’re invited to join us for lent—ashes, doubts, imperfections, and all. Download The Hardest Part Lent Guide for free at katebowler.com/lent. In 2014 she experienced a major breakthrough when “Crazy Stupid Love” (a song she'd co-written for British pop star Cheryl) shot to #1 on the UK Singles Chart. Since then, Katelyn's released a number of singles and EPs, recurred on shows like The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Ballers, and her latest album Subject to Change will be released very soon, in early November! Actress and musician Katelyn Tarver rose to stardom with roles on shows like Big Time Rush and The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Over the last few years, her music career has blossomed thanks to songs like "You Don't Know" and an appearance on the NBC series Songland. From her home in LA, she talks about her new single and the thrill of acting on HBO's Ballers.
It's our 100th episode! Holy smokes! We can't believe it. NBC's hit show Songland's 2019 winner, Katelyn Tarver, released her latest single, "Feel Bad," at the end of March. Leading Nashville group Old Dominion recorded her song "Young," and the Songland-winning track was featured on a Joseph Khan-directed Jeep TV commercial which Tarver also starred as the main character in.
