Imagine only working a 25 to 30-hour workweek, but being paid full time. This is the reality for the employees of my guest, Katelyn Magnuson, the Millenial Money Expert, and owner of a full-service accounting firm.Katelyn shares her journey from working corporate jobs to becoming an entrepreneur who only works 25-30 hours a week and expects her employees to do the same. She shares the open secret that most office workers only spend an average of 30 hours a week completing productive work. Her schedule allows for an ideal work/life balance that so many people strive for, but never achieve. Let's look at how she did it. Questions and Answers To kick things off… why did you choose to go with a 25-30 hour week in your company? Are your employees only getting paid for 30 hours, or do they get full-time pay? You also said that your workforce is remote, and you let them be more flexible with their schedules vs having their schedule be roughly the same every week — how has that improved things like employee retention and satisfaction? Have you had trouble finding employees that can manage this freedom? How does this flexibility impact inter-company relationships and staff meetings? Has it created any challenges with your relationships with your clients? Has this reduced schedule hindered your growth at all?Do you include employee improvement or training in that 30-hour week? Why do you think this concept is so hard to normalize — especially in the US? Do you have any final advice or tips that you'd like to share with our audience? To wrap it up — tell us more about who you like to work with, how you can help them, and where they can find you. My next guest is Inna Rosputnia, an award-winning stocks and futures trader from Poland. Having endured some shockingly heavy losses at the outset of her trading career, Inna went on to develop a strategy that has been crushing it in the commodities sector. Through her managed accounts service she's helped hundreds of clients grow their wealth. In person I think you'll quickly see Inna is refreshingly honest about her experiences and better than most at laughing at her mistakes. Enjoy this slice of Inna's life. ==BEFORE YOU HEAD OFF… as we all know, a lot can go wrong in trading. Some days you can find yourself gasping for breath and telling yourself you need a complete break from it.Well, take a look at this. It's a way of making passive income by taking a stake in the crypto space but doesn't require you to trade crypto. The company in question is called Yieldnodes. And essentially, what these guys do is provide cutting edge services to the blockchain network, such as maintaining e-wallets and the like. It's very easy to get set up on the platform, and the returns are truly exceptional, averaging around 10% per month. Once you factor in compounding you could be looking at just north of 200% per annum. Here's another thing I think is really important: Yieldnodes have allowed members to audit their incomings and outgoings and found them to be entirely transparent. I personally think this is an exciting proposition and, if you sign up through my link, instead of the usual minimum deposit of 500 Euros, you can make a start with just 50 Euros. Heck, some people put that on the lottery every weekend! So why not plant a seed today with Yieldnodes and see what grows from there?By pass the 500 Euro minimum requirment and start participating in the Yieldnodes project with as little as 50 Euros via this link while helping to keep this podcast going. Inflation is to hit us big, and threatens our wealth! So, Inflation-Protection (Hedging) is key! Inflation is ‘in the making' due to the Covid19 financial help programs by Central Banks and Governments to buffer an expected economic downturn. This time round, the Federal Reserve's Program is larger than the last few programs taken together. According to Alex Krainer, Hedge Fund Manager, Commodities Trader and advisor to Altana Wealth Management S.A.M. (Monaco), the best tools to protect from inflation are Commodity Futures and Farm Land. The worst investors can do is to invest in stocks, when inflation is a risk. Gold and other precious metals have always been the classic inflation hedge, but Commodities tend to perform even better, Alex is convinced. His book ‘Mastering Uncertainty in Commodities Trading – Generating sustainable Profits through Trend Following', is a deep dive into investing in times of economic uncertainties. Historical Data shows, that printing additional cash creates episodes of Hyper-Inflation and unless ‘re-absorbed' fast by the Central Banks, private (paper) wealth goes ‘up in flames' and loses its purchasing power. When (?) is inflation going to happen, is more difficult to answer. One of the most important lessons in investing is: Don't Trade – but invest! Don't get ahead of yourself, thinking by jumping in and out of stocks you'll turn a guaranteed profit. Plus, you have to be able to ‘stomach' losses. Even the best strategy today, may turn out wrong in future, making you lose money. A risk management strategy is as important as your investment strategy. A solid risk management strategy prevents you from chasing your own tail and panicking when the markets turn against you. His Key advise for Life: Invest – don't trade. Think what you want to achieve. Make sure you turn that into a clear investment strategy, have a ‘cushion' and a risk management strategy to buffer potential periods of losses and stick to your approach. Don't panic and remember when you start trading (rather than investing) the odds are against you. Steve & I Discuss Commodities Trader turned Real Estate Guy Perspective from Operating in 9 Major U.S. Markets Mitigating Risk When Flipping in Challenging Areas Stepping Up Volume as a Fix & Flip Investor From Commodities to Real Estate Steve Werner originally started out as a Commodities Trader then Hard Money Lender before landing with DAWGS. In this episode, Steve and talk about how to find profitable fix & flip opportunities in a tight real estate market where much of the inventory needing repairs is being snapped up by owner occupants willing to do the work and live there. There is still TONS of inventory available in many cities, especially where I’m currently flipping houses: Atlanta, Philadelphia, & Chicago. That huge inventory, just like any investment, does present some risk. Steve and I discuss exactly how to deal with many of those risks to ensure the house comes out retail ready in the end. As Managing Director of Thomson Reuters Africa, Kenyan-born Sneha Shah oversees the firm's Financial, Risk, Tax and Legal businesses across the continent. Initially founded as a news agency in 1851, today Thomson Reuters is frequently cited by media watchdogs as an "invisible information giant" worth monitoring closely as it delivers unprecedented amounts of data, along with automation and digitisation solutions to financial institutions, governments and corporates around the globe. Sneha holds a BA (Hons) degree in Politics with International Studies from the University of Warwick in the UK and prior to joining Thomson Reuters in 2001, she was a Commodities Trader for Cargill in South Africa and traded money markets and foreign exchange at CFC Bank in Kenya. In this conversation with Andile Masuku - taped at a corporate-backed gender equality event called Voices of Change hosted in Sandton recently - Sneha demystifies Thomson's operations by explaining the firm's business model and unpacking their Africa growth strategy. Listen in to hear how Sneha and her team are working to keep Thomson relevant and profitable at a time when very few large data, insights and technology-focused corporations seem content to stay in their lane. Also, Sneha's elucidation of the "firewall" between Thomson's news and consulting businesses is well worth a listen.
