The situation escalated when the suspect fled the scene with the female victim, suspected to be taken against her will, as the Borger police were dispatched around 3:40 p.m. A vehicle matching the suspect's description was soon spotted by officers, leading to a pursuit towards Fritch. The chase came to a head near the Hutchison-Potter County line where, according to Police Chief Donnie Davis, the male driver was shot with a firearm found inside the vehicle. Reports from ABC 7 News confirmed that it was the victim who had managed to fire the shot. The suspect, wounded but alive with non-life threatening injuries, was rushed to an Amarillo hospital. The woman, having survived the ordeal, was evaluated at a local hospital. As the investigation unfolds, details such as the suspect's identity and specific charges remain under wraps. The flaw is that when the trigger is pulled the bullets don't go where the gun is pointing, instead they tend to go a bit to the left. From what we've learned the problem seems to get worse with more use, and a quick internet search shows that this has been a known issue with these guns for at least the last 10 years and Glock still hasn't fixed it. Our firearms staff has run this issue up their chain of command and has been in touch with representatives at Glock and the only solutions they have offered is to tell them to instruct our members to compensate by aiming to the right of the target, and moving the sights on some of the guns so far to one side that they're hanging off the slide. They also suggested that our Officers just don't know how to shoot Glocks and were simply holding the guns wrong. (Click Here for Full Article)

Bear attacks against animals that depend on people for their protection are much more common than direct attacks against people. From Kingston Police on Facebook: Shortly before 3pm this afternoon KPD responded to Hawthorne Road for a report of a black bear attacking a resident's livestock (goat). Seeley Oblander and her fiancé, Thomas Bolkcom, were awakened at 3 a.m. to one of their two dogs, Maizey, barking ferociously. While the couple initially brushed the howling off, figuring a raccoon or a skunk had caught the dog's attention, Bolkcom eventually walked downstairs to see what was going on after the dog would not stop making a ruckus.  When Bolkcom, a commercial painter and elk hunter, went to investigate and tried to coax the Labrador-pit bull mix downstairs, he found a "black bear standing in the living room five feet away," Oblander said. Wearing just a T-shirt and underwear, Bolkcom ran back downstairs, got a handgun and returned to the living room where he shot the bear. John Velleco, executive vice president of Gun Owners of America, said the governor signed the bill Monday morning in the Capitol, in front of a group of about 20 people. People from gun safety advocacy groups have said allowing people to carry concealed guns in public without training, and removing an additional background check, will make the public less safe. Police said a 28-year-old woman killed three nine-year-olds and three adult staff members at Covenant School, a private Christian school in Nashville, on Monday. Nashali Alma, 24, was exercising alone when the assault happened on Jan. 22, WFTS-TV reported. She let the suspect into the gym because she had seen him in the gym previously. "Usually, people forget their key tags and fobs," Alma said. "We do let them in, and so I let the gentleman in. I didn't think twice about letting him in. I was in the middle of my workout." Surveillance video showed Alma continuing her workout while the suspect, Xavier Thomas-Jones, approached her and attempted to grab her waist. Alma pushed him away and continued to fight him. The suspect, a Hispanic male, is accused of killing 17-year-old Angeles Zaragoza and wounding two others, a 20-year-old Hispanic male and a 17-year-old Hispanic male. According to police, the alleged shooter was shot by 32-year-old Emmanuel Duran as he fled the scene. “As soon as the shooting ended, the 16-year-old suspect began to run and was pointing the gun toward the direction of bystanders, including 32-year-old Emmanuel Duran, a Licensed to Carry Holder. As the suspect ran toward Duran and bystanders, Duran drew his handgun and shot the suspect,” the El Paso Police Department said in a statement. (Click Here for Full Article)
