Send us a textHave you ever watched someone experience Disney World for the first time? There's something magical about witnessing that transformation from skepticism to wonder. On our latest adventure to Florida, that's exactly what happened when Kristie, previously Disney-indifferent, fell head over heels for Animal Kingdom. Our journey began with a coastal Florida road trip before diving into an action-packed two-day Disney experience. We strategically planned our park days, starting with Animal Kingdom where our rope drop strategy paid off magnificently. While crowds rushed to Flight of Passage, we conquered both Expedition Everest and Dinosaur before the park even opened to regular guests! This early start, combined with strategic Lightning Lane usage, allowed us to experience everything Animal Kingdom offers—from the breathtaking Festival of the Lion King show to the immersive animal trails where Christy spent so much time watching the gorillas we almost missed our next reservation.Food became an unexpected highlight, especially at Satu'li Canteen where we discovered incredible non-meat options during our Lent Friday visit. The Chili Garlic Shrimp Bowl with sweet potato hash and surprising boba pearls created a flavor combination that was absolutely outstanding and has become a must-try recommendation.Day two took us to Epcot during the bustling Flower and Garden Festival. Despite initial hesitation, rope dropping Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind proved to be the perfect decision. The 40-minute wait was more than worth it for what might be Disney's most thrilling and immersive new attraction. Living with the Land emerged as a surprising group favorite, while World Showcase provided essential food experiences like School Bread from Norway and fish and chips from the UK that were so good they've become a personal go-to.Perhaps most valuable was our resort hopping experience, which gave us a broader appreciation for Disney's diverse accommodations. From the elegant Grand Floridian to the rustic charm of Port Orleans Riverside, these explorations helped shape future stay preferences while creating additional magical moments outside the parks.Whether you're planning your first Disney trip or your fiftieth, we hope our experiences offer some helpful insights and inspiration. Have you witnessed someone's first Disney transformation? We'd love to hear your stories in the comments! Here's who we are and what is in store for you

Send us a textPicture this: you're excitedly walking down Main Street, U.S.A. when suddenly, the skies open up and unleash a Florida downpour that would make Moana's ocean look tame. Or perhaps you're melting faster than Olaf in summer as the thermometer climbs past 95°F. What do you do when Mother Nature throws a wrench into your carefully planned Disney day?Our latest episode dives deep into surviving (and thriving!) during extreme weather at Disney parks. From the clockwork afternoon thunderstorms of Walt Disney World to the rare but bewildering rain showers that paralyze Southern California visitors at Disneyland, we share stories, strategies, and solutions for making the most of any weather conditions. We kicked off the episode sampling the appropriately named Category 5 drink from Hurricane Hannah's at Disney's Beach Club Resort—a powerful concoction featuring spiced rum, banana rum, peach schnapps, and a dangerous float of Gosling's 151. At $15.50, this three-and-a-half-shot marvel might just be the best tropical drink on property, providing liquid courage for whatever weather challenges lie ahead.Whether it's creating your own impromptu "water park" during heat waves, channeling your inner Gene Kelly during downpours on Main Street, or knowing exactly which indoor shows to target when lightning strikes, we've developed survival strategies through years of sweaty, soggy, and occasionally freezing Disney adventures. We share our favorite hiding spots when the weather turns, the best quick-drying footwear options, and the simple hotel room hack that will save your vacation when your shoes get soaked (hint: it involves washcloths!).From serious hurricane protocols to lighthearted Disney character weather-inspired bounds, we cover the full spectrum of preparing for and embracing whatever Mother Nature throws at you during your Disney vacation. Send us a textWondering how to survive Disney with someone who'd rather be anywhere else? Or perhaps you're the one dreading the family Disney trip? Either way, we've got you covered as we sip on a Smoked Turkey cocktail from Olivia's Cafe at Disney's Old Key West Resort and dive into survival strategies for the reluctant Disney visitor. The cocktail itself—a bourbon-based concoction with cherry liqueur, grenadine, and a hint of hickory smoke—seems perfectly designed for that stereotypical grumpy grandpa sitting on his DVC balcony while the grandkids watch cartoons inside. Much like a reluctant Disney visitor's experience, our review is lukewarm: not horrible, but not something we'd eagerly order again. We explore this topic from two complementary angles. First, how to prepare someone who's less than enthusiastic about Disney: showing them nostalgic Disney live-action movies beforehand, finding their favorite foods in the parks, scheduling non-park days for longer stays, and strategically using Lightning Lanes to minimize frustration with lines. After all, nothing makes a grumpy visitor grumpier than paying "$150 to get in and another $40 to go on rides."Then we catalog the classic complaints you'll hear (expensive food, lack of shade, early wake-up calls) and offer survival strategies for the reluctant visitor themselves: finding air-conditioned refuges like Hall of Presidents, strategic snacking to create natural breaks, slipping away to use single rider lines, perfecting the same grumpy expression for every photo, and sampling Disney's many adult beverages.Whether you're the Disney enthusiast dragging someone along or the one being dragged, these strategies might just save your vacation. And remember, if you ever get separated from your group, the safest survival strategy is to head straight to the nearest lounge and stay put! Here's who we are and what is in store for you

Send us a textWhat happens when Disney Imagineers lose their minds completely? We explore this hilarious premise while enjoying a dangerously delicious Jungle Bird cocktail from Skipper Canteen. This rum and pineapple concoction ($15.50) proves to be the perfect companion as we dive into creating the most absurd, impractical, and downright terrible Disney park additions imaginable. Our comedic journey takes us through attractions like Hannah Montana's Wrecking Ball ride, where guests swing on actual wrecking balls to the infamous song, and a Walk-Through Flea Farm at Animal Kingdom with real fleas and the potential for itchy souvenirs. We design the ultimate anti-attraction with our Waiting in Line Adventure – a three-hour queue that ultimately leads to a closed ride, perfectly capturing every Disney fan's worst nightmare. From the boring political debates of our Jedi Council Ride to Goofy's How-To Do Laundry experience (where guests actually wash cast member uniforms), our terrible ideas span every Disney park. We imagine the perfect waste of time with Test Track Traffic Stop, where the ride moves just ten feet before stopping in traffic for ten minutes, and a Parent Trap Mega Ferris Wheel featuring arguing parents who reconcile as "Let's Get Together" blares at painful volumes. The absurdity continues with unconventional shopping experiences like Duke Wessleton's Toupee and Uniform Ye Olde Shoppe and a Lost and Found Emporium selling items abandoned by previous guests. We even propose a Yemen Pavilion at EPCOT and a Therapy Carousel of Progress showcasing dysfunctional family therapy throughout the decades.Whether you're a Disney fan looking for a good laugh or someone who enjoys creative satire of theme park experiences, this episode offers a thoroughly entertaining journey through attractions that would make even the most desperate parent flee the parks. Which of our terrible ideas would you avoid at all costs? Here's who we are and what is in store for you

DIZNEY COAST TO COAST - The Ultimate Unofficial Disney Fan Podcast
Disney fans rejoice! Today on the show we're discussing the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue dinner show at Walt Disney World, which I revisited on a recent Disney vacation with my family. The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is most likely something you're very familiar with or have never even heard of. It's a bit of a weird phenomenon where this live dinner show that's been running for over fifty years at Fort Wilderness isn't known by a lot of Disney fans. This slice of Americana, old-fashioned family fun, and heaping helpings of barbecue and comfort food combines music, dancing, vaudeville style comedy, and audience interaction. Joining me to discuss is my college pal Frances who had the honor of portraying the role of Flora Long, one of the show's six ensemble characters. Whether you're someone who has personally enjoyed the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue yourself, or perhaps you have no idea what it is, you're sure to enjoy this story of its origins while taking a peek behind the curtain of a tradition steeped in Walt Disney World history. That and so much more is coming your way on this episode of Dizney Coast to Coast. ------ GIVEAWAYS, BONUSES AND SUPPORT: Gain early access to episodes, take part in live streams, and gain more bonuses by joining the DCTC Patreon. It's time for some March Madness—with a Disney twist. We are diving into a bracket challenge that pits Walt Disney World's most beloved rides and attractions against each other to determine the ultimate champion.Inspired by the format of the NCAA tournament, this bracket showdown is broken into four regions: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. Each region features eight attractions, seeded and matched up for a series of head-to-head battles. But this isn't just about personal favorites—it's a competition grounded in five key categories that help define what makes a Walt Disney World experience truly magical. The first category is popularity, taking into account average wait times, Lightning Lane demand, and general hype among guests. Next is theming and immersion, which looks at the storytelling, design details, and how transported guests feel once they step into the attraction. Innovation and ride technology plays a major role as well, factoring in the use of cutting-edge systems, ride mechanics, and visual effects. Then there's broad appeal—how accessible and enjoyable the attraction is for guests of all ages and thrill levels. And finally, guest satisfaction, which covers overall enjoyment, re-ride value, and consistently high guest ratings.Throughout the episode, we'll debate each matchup, make tough calls, and share some personal memories tied to the rides. Whether you're team thrills, team nostalgia, or just here for the magic, this bracket challenge is the perfect way to celebrate the best of what Walt Disney World has to offer. Will a classic attraction come out on top, or will cutting-edge technology and big thrills steal the crown? Tune in to find out, and see if your favorite makes it all the way to the championship.Download the Bracket!Print it out, fill it out, and share your results with us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!MEI-Travel – Expertise.
