In this episode of 'The Wisdom of Show,' host Simon Bowen engages in a deep conversation with accredited futurist Dr. Ben, exploring the dynamic and rapidly changing landscape of leadership in modern times. Dr. Ben, formerly the head of the future of work at PwC Australia and an award winner for his work in the Asia Pacific region, delves into the principles of futurism and explains why traditional business strategies may be flawed in our fast-paced world. The discussion touches on the importance of foresight, adaptive mindsets, technology trends, climate change impacts, generational shifts, and the ethical implications of AI. Dr. Ben also offers actionable insights for leaders to remain authentic, embrace vulnerability, and leverage emerging technologies, while maintaining the human touch in their organizations. This engaging episode seeks to inspire leaders to be proactive stewards of their resources and to prepare thoughtfully for an ever-evolving future.

This 80's band never toured to Adelaide. But Sales has compensated by talking about not one, not two, but THREE Wham! shows. As Crabb lapses in and out of consciousness, she manages to reminisce about Sinead O'Connor, and farewell her beautiful sister in law Anisa, friend of the show, who benefited in her last days from the palliative care team who are the joint charity partners of this live event. Local writers Robert Skinner and Walter Marsh feature, as well as Sales' new book which is a CRACKER. So much Chatter love in the room. You people really are the best. (0.34) Wham! Many guests come to the centre due to domestic and family violence, and it provides a safe haven for decision-making and the opportunity to connect with other agencies. Accommodating pets at the centre is a crucial part of a woman's decision to leave an unsafe home, as often the fear of leaving a pet that could also be in harm's way will prevent them from taking that step. In almost 6 years of operation the Vinnies Women's Crisis Centre has accommodated more than 5,500 women, children and pets. More recently, with the rental crisis and shortage of affordable accommodation, guests are staying much longer as there is simply nowhere else for them to go. As part of Vinnies' work more broadly, they have been working with the sector to advocate for fairer rent laws and greater investment in social and affordable housing. With the funds generously donated by Chatters at the last live event in Adelaide, children staying at the centre have been able to participate in the Ready Steady Go sports program during school holidays. For safety reasons, some children are unable to leave the centre, so the Ready Steady Go activities provide a much-needed release. The Vinnies team is grateful for the support of Chat 10 Looks 3. Hello, friends! Exciting news from Culture Club this week as we're recording in a studio! Huge. We've just signed to DM Podcasts and can't wait to see where it goes. This means you may begin to hear a few ads from us but it means that after three years we're actually earning money from the pod which is super exciting. In pop culture land we cover the breakups and wedding of the season. Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin wed in Hungary while Sofía Vergara, Joe Manganiello, Ariana Grande, and Dalton Gomez split. We debrief the Hollywood relationships and cover Ariana's rumoured new beau. We reference ‘Love Is Dead': Why Do We Care So Much About Celebrity Breakups? by Alicia Vrajlal for Refinery29 Australia. Next, it was Barbenheimer week! We discuss our thoughts on Barbie (and Jas' on Oppenheimer) before getting into some of what the critics think. We hear from journalist Michael Sun who wrote a review in the ABC and reference a VICE US piece on whether Barbie is just branded content by Bianca Ferrari. In recommendation world, Jas shares Girly Culture Is Having A Moment – Can We Use It To Achieve Real Progress?, a Zee Feed article by Kitty Lloyd that taps into the girlhood zeitgeist at the moment, while Maggie recommends Elliot Page's memoir, Pageboy. Chat soon! India Raine is our wonderful producer and composer of our jingle and Katie Zhou created our fab cover art. We all know just how bad a spy David was but he pales in comparison with some of these guys. From German spies in WWI treating espionage missions to the US as fully paid vacations, to the British virtually insisting the US let a Russian spy work on the Manhattan Project, this episode features some of the dumbest moments in intelligence. There's even the story of a swinging Czechoslovakian comedian who led the CIA by the nose.Suddenly, David doesn't look so bad. Welcome to The Maria Thattil Show, produced by DM Podcasts! This week, we launch the show and in order for me to get comfortable with you - I had to learn to be comfortable with myself, which truthfully I haven't always been. In this episode, I share 4 signs that maybe you aren't entirely comfortable with yourself but also 4 ways to understand why this might be the case, get to know and ultimately, become more comfortable with yourself. I also take my first listener questions on my segment ‘Ask Maria'! With only 1 minute to respond … its 3 questions and 3 minutes of value. We love a quickie. For a moment there the world thought Russia was plunging into civil war and Putin's long reign was coming to a close. And just 24 hours later Prigozhin, the mutineer and owner/leader of the brutal Wagner Group, had called off the coup and absconded to Belarus. This week, to help us pull apart what happened and what it means for Putin, Russia and Ukraine, we are joined by Walkley Award winning journalist and former ABC Moscow correspondent Monica Attard. Is Putin on the ropes or is he stronger? Has Russia been weakened in its war with Ukraine? And is Prigozhin a man on the edge just waiting to be pushed? Stay away from open windows this week! It has long been believed that the KGB had a mole in ASIO and that suspicion was confirmed last week when the ABC's 4Corners revealed the identity of the spy. Who was the mole and how did he avoid detection for so long? What does it say about Australia's premier espionage hunters? What does it mean for the people who worked along side a traitor, not knowing their every move was being orchestrated to fail? And how did David take the news? Join us for a very personal episode this week. Produced by DM Podcasts. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

ChatGPT would never create an episode like this...would it? If For & Against has proven anything over the years, it's that intelligence in sport is rare. So if you think artificial intelligence would be welcomed to a coach's strategy, a player's training, a commentator's analysis...well you'd be right! Join Roach, Johnno and Reills as they document the rise of AI across the sporting world. There's also the bankers coming for rugby, the Saudis coming for cricket, and patrons at Marvel Stadium about to do a "runner" from Amazon's new food and beverage facility. All that and Red Card Yellow Card...a robot couldn't do that, could they? Could they? Could they? Could they... Produced by DM Podcasts. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Is artificial intelligence having an effect on... intelligence? With the power to reshape how information is gathered and analysed, is this the end of the classic Cold War spy and the rise of a Computer Overlord? Are we facing an all-conquering Cybercrat like Skynet? Or a compu-nerd that reads to much and wants to be a creative writer like ChatGPT? And will our HUMINT assets let it happen? What ever the answer, one place there is no intelligence - artificial, informational or otherwise - is right here in the Blanket Fort. Change your password after listening! While James Bond and his fictional spy ilk are often armed with a plethora of astounding gadgets, it seems the modern spy has to make do with more mundane devices. The internet is increasingly the battle space with the computer and mobile phone the weapons of choice, but everything from apps to appliances to cargo cranes are evolving into the tools of the spy trade. And can you really trust your router? The device you're using to listen to this ep is probably betraying you right now! Produced by DM Podcasts.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
