Again, we have publicly committed to predictions an hour before the (all NCiB Boyfriend) Home Run Derby begins, that you won't hear until you already know who won. How'd we do? We also check in on our pre-season predictions on standings and individual awards and learn that while some are just as terrible as history has taught us to expect, we are surprisingly right on in some places. Those places are not the American League. We've got some pretty good running “for a catcher,” more benchmarks for PCA, Kyle treating OPACY like home, and some pretty irate Phillies. Congrats to Tito Francona for winning #2000! We wonder what's in the HS drinking fountain water in Oklahoma that produced the #1 and #4 picks in this year's draft. More commitments in the WBC, and some travel ban cross-training with FIFA.We say, “It's just not aerodynamic when your shirt is unbuttoned so far,” “His golf caddies have named him Pelé,” and “How do you solve a problem like Pottymouth?” Fight the man, send your game balls to Meredith, get boosted, and find us on Bluesky @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. In this deeply personal conversation, Iona Holloway, founder and keynote speaker at Brave Thing, joins Chedva to explore how becoming a mother at 35 sharpened her already strong opinions and shortened her bullshit filter. They dive into the transformative power of motherhood, the difference between being special and being precious, and what it really means to be brave. Iona shares her journey from a struggling 29-year-old to finding freedom through inner work, and how pregnancy and motherhood shifted her from deep emotional facilitation to helping others shine through public speaking. The conversation touches on the 5 and 95 rule, time travel within ourselves, and why sometimes our greatest strengths come from accepting we're not coming to save ourselves—we have to do it. Key Topics: How motherhood intensifies both fierceness and vulnerability The difference between being special and being precious Strong opinions, loosely held—and respecting others who disagree The 5 and 95 rule: making your inner child happy and your 95-year-old self proud Pivotting in different stages of life Moving from Scotland to the US and finding permission to heal Bravery as the collision of strength and vulnerability Notable Quotes: "I'm operating on the principle that if this is the time I've got, then I may as well be living as true to whatever the current version of Iona exists." "None of us are special, but we are all very precious things." "At any given time, you have to decide that you are the one that you have been waiting for, looking for, needing. No one is coming to save you." "Your body's a scrapbook and it holds the memories of your life in its pages." "Bravery is where strength and vulnerability collide—strong with your heart turned on." "If someone's giving you 10 minutes of their time, then you better make it worth their attention." Iona's Powerful Question: "Someone in your life needs a braver version of you to exist. Who is your someone?" John and Craig dig through the mailbag to answer some of our trickiest listener questions. They lay out their best advice for first-time feature directors — from picking department heads to making sure your movie actually gets seen — and look at how to adapt Craig's “How to Write a Movie” for structuring a TV series. But that's not all! Do you owe your writer's group access to your contacts? How do you break out of the mailroom? Where should high-school students start? How far can adaptations stray from the source material? And how do you remain professional in the middle of a dumpster fire? We also follow up on tariffs, mysterious birds, and a different set of 36 Questions. In our bonus segment for premium members, we play John's new game, Strong Opinions, where we all have to guess each other's true feelings about things we didn't know were controversial. What separates a successful founder from the rest? In this episode, Harish Abbott—CEO and co-founder of Augment—breaks down how he repeatedly spots opportunity early, builds products customers actually want, and navigates the fast-moving world of AI without falling into the trap of chasing every shiny benchmark. We explore how Harish's team shadowed 60 logistics operators before writing a single line of code, why storytelling is a founder's most underutilized superpower, and how to know when it's time to pivot—even if everything looks good on the surface.Whether you're scaling your first product or figuring out what not to build, this conversation is packed with real-world insights you can apply today.

In November 2022, four University of Idaho students—Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves—were found brutally murdered in an off-campus house in Moscow, Idaho. The suspect, Bryan Kohberger, was arrested in late December 2022.Key evidence in the case includes DNA found on a knife sheath left at the crime scene, which matched DNA from Kohberger's family's trash in Pennsylvania. Surveillance footage traced a white Hyundai Elantra, owned by Kohberger, near the crime scene around the time of the murders. Additionally, cell phone records showed Kohberger's phone was near the victims' residence on multiple occasions prior to the murders, though it was turned off during the time the murders occurred.Kohberger, a criminology Ph.D. student at Washington State University, exhibited an interest in criminal psychology and crime scene analysis. He has pleaded not guilty and his defense suggests he was out driving at the time of the murders. Now, after the relase of a book detailing the murders by author Howard Blum, the Gocalves family is bashing that book and saying it's a work of fiction. In our second article, we get an update on what we might expect today at Bryan Kohberger's hearing.(commercial at 8:07)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Bryan Kohberger Book Slammed By Victim's Family - Newsweek

A SolFul life isn't just about deep conversations and big dreams—it's also about laughter, unfiltered honesty, and the kind of debates that only happen when strong women with even stronger opinions get together. In this episode of SolFul Connections, we tackle the tiny things that spark big reactions. Whether it's the right way to load a dishwasher, the ultimate coffee order, or the absolute wrong way to pronounce a word, nothing is off-limits. But beneath the playful debates and hot takes, this conversation is a reminder that real talk—refreshing, honest, and sometimes ridiculous—is essential to a life well-lived.Because sometimes, connection isn't about agreeing—it's about showing up, speaking your mind, and standing by it.
