In this powerful message, Pastor Karl dives into Romans chapter 11, exploring God's cosmic plan to save anyone who desires salvation. He unpacks the heartbeat of Romans: God's unstoppable mission to redeem sinners by grace through faith and our response of worship and service. Focusing on the Greek word "sozo" (salvation), Pastor Karl traces God's saving work through Israel's past, present, and future, showing how His promises to Israel shape His promises to us as Gentiles. He emphasizes that God uses us to make His chosen people jealous, drawing them back to Him, while warning against pride and anti-Semitism in today's world. With passion and clarity, Pastor Karl calls us to humility, readiness to share our hope, and active participation in God's global plan through church planting and proclaiming the Word. What's the secret sauce to evangelization? Aside from the Holy Spirit, it's curiosity—genuinely wanting to know and understand the person in front of you. When you show sincere interest in someone's story, experiences, and thoughts, you create space for authentic connection. This curiosity builds trust and opens the door to deeper conversations where faith can be shared naturally. Evangelization isn't about having all the answers—it's about being present, listening, and letting relationships grow organically. To help you do this, our team has developed Elevate! (https://archomaha.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Elevate.pdf), a new small group resource designed for meaningful conversations with friends who aren't ready for a traditional Bible study. In this episode, I sit down with Andy Dejka, the mastermind behind Elevate!, to explore how it fosters deeper dialogue. We discuss its unique four-week, four-person, four-question format, leadership requirements, and the heart behind its creation. Andy also shares his personal call to mission, including how running a stand at a local farmer's market shaped his approach to evangelization. When we share the Gospel message, we are often considered fools. It's not the Gospel's fault and it's not God's fault. The problem lies with the heart of the person you are talking with. Our message is not foolish-it's the people who listen but fail to accept Christ who are foolish.  “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believers. To the Jew first, but also to the gentiles” (Romans 116). It's in the uncompromising Gospel where the power of God resides. And it's in the uncompromising Gospels is where the power to save and to change people's lives is. So, let's worry more about giving out the true message of the Cross and a lot less about what people think of us. If we do that, lives will change, and the world will never be the same-but for the better. Please SUBSCRIBE as a free way to help support this channel!JOIN our Community at: www.StevenGarofalo.ComBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/reason-for-truth--2774396/support.

I was recently asked, "How do you share your faith without coming across as pushy?" It's a big question—how can we invite people into a relationship with Jesus without making it feel manipulative? The answer is simple: We love. The core of the Great Commission—"go and make disciples"—is the call to love because God is love. If we let that love shape and transform us, we become agents of love in our communities. This means nurturing our relationship with God first and letting that love overflow into our relationships with others. In this episode, I talk with Peter Andrastek, Senior Consultant at The Evangelical Catholic (https://evangelicalcatholic.org/). We explore how to share our faith through genuine connections and meaningful conversations. It's about finding a balance: reaching out with urgency, yet having the wisdom to do it gently. Join me as we dive into what it means to be a missionary disciple, sharing the love we've been given in a way that feels authentic and true. Wouldn't it be nice if God performed some undeniable miracle and every person in the world converted? The reality is…he did. Jesus performed numerous miracles, and people still walked away from him (John 6). So, we must look to the ordinary moments. Moments with coworkers, family members, new acquaintances, and friends that may seem mundane at first, but with an openness and attentiveness to the Holy Spirit's guidance, they become opportunities to share one's faith or engaging in conversations about spirituality. Today, I sit down with Archbishop Lucas to talk about those moments. About the Guest(s):Shannon is a passionate advocate for sharing the hope of Jesus across faiths and cultures. In 2017, she discovered her calling to actively share her faith and realized that it was not just for missionaries.Shannon's heart was deeply moved during a trip to Indonesia in 2019, where she encountered Muslim women and felt a burden to share the love of Jesus with them. She has experienced disappointment and rejection from her church friends who did not share the same passion for sharing Jesus.Shannon is a part of Arise, a movement that mobilizes women to share the gospel locally and globally.Episode Summary:In this episode, Karen interviews Shannon, who shares her journey of building a community of Jesus-sharing friends and offers advice for those who feel alone in their desire to share Jesus. Shannon discusses how she initially thought sharing Jesus was only for missionaries and how her trip to Indonesia opened her eyes to the need for sharing the gospel with those around her. She shares her experience of feeling rejected by her church friends and the importance of finding like-minded individuals to run with in sharing the hope of Jesus. Shannon encourages listeners to pray for boldness and to gather a group of friends to study The Blue Cord and learn how to share their faith authentically. She emphasizes the need to break down societal norms and cultural barriers that hinder Christians from sharing their faith. Shannon also highlights the importance of listening to God's voice and being led by the Holy Spirit in sharing the gospel.Key Takeaways:Sharing Jesus is not just for missionaries; every believer has a role to play in sharing the hope of Jesus. It is common to feel alone or rejected when desiring to actively share Jesus, but there are others who share the same passion.Praying for God to break your heart for what breaks His can lead to a deeper desire to share the gospel.Building a community of like-minded friends who are passionate about sharing Jesus can provide encouragement and support. The key to effective gospel sharing is listening to God's voice and being led by the Holy Spirit.Notable Quotes:"God broke my heart for the nations in Indonesia in 2019... all made in the image of God, all so very far from God... feeling so much neglect, trauma, and rejection when the Lord creator and author of life is moving toward them with open arms and they have no idea his name or how much he loves them." - Shannon"With God, there are no barriers... Jesus alone is the only way... unless people hear these truths, here in America and to the ends of the earth, how can they make a choice to follow him, to receive his love if they've never heard his name?" - ShannonResources:Arise: WebsiteThe Blue Cord: WebsiteThank you for listening to this episode of The Blue Cord Podcast. Bible reading: Luke 10:1-11 (NIVUK) Jesus sends out the seventy-two 10 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. 2 He told them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. 3 Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. 4 Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road. 5 ‘When you enter a house, first say, “Peace to this house.” 6 If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you. 7 Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house. 8 ‘When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is offered to you. 9 Heal those there who are ill and tell them, “The kingdom of God has come near to you.” 10 But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, 11 “Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you. Yet be sure of this: the kingdom of God has come near.”

Bible readings (NIVUK) John 1:35-46 John's disciples follow Jesus 35 The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. 36 When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, ‘Look, the Lamb of God!' 37 When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. 38 Turning round, Jesus saw them following and asked, ‘What do you want?' They said, ‘Rabbi' (which means ‘Teacher'), ‘where are you staying?' 39 ‘Come,' he replied, ‘and you will see.' So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon. 40 Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. 41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, ‘We have found the Messiah' (that is, the Christ). 42 And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, ‘You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas' (which, when translated, is Peter). Jesus calls Philip and Nathanael 43 The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, ‘Follow me.' 44 Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. 45 Philip found Nathanael and told him, ‘We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote – Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.' 46 ‘Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?' Nathanael asked. ‘Come and see,' said Philip. Romans 10:8-15 8 But what does it say? ‘The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,' that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: 9 if you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, ‘Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.' 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile – the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.' 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!'

Bible readings (NIVUK): Genesis 12:1-9 The call of Abram 12 The Lord had said to Abram, ‘Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you. 2 ‘I will make you into a great nation,     and I will bless you; I will make your name great,     and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you,     and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth     will be blessed through you.' 4 So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran. 5 He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Harran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there. 6 Abram travelled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. 7 The Lord appeared to Abram and said, ‘To your offspring I will give this land.' So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him. 8 From there he went on towards the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord. 9 Then Abram set out and continued towards the Negev. 1 Peter 3:15 15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

Bible readings (NIVUK) John 4:1-30 Jesus talks with a Samaritan woman 4 Now Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that he was gaining and baptising more disciples than John – 2 although in fact it was not Jesus who baptised, but his disciples. 3 So he left Judea and went back once more to Galilee. 4 Now he had to go through Samaria. 5 So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. 6 Jacob's well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon. 7 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, ‘Will you give me a drink?' 8 (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.) 9 The Samaritan woman said to him, ‘You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?' (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.) 10 Jesus answered her, ‘If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.' 11 ‘Sir,' the woman said, ‘you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?' 13 Jesus answered, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.' 15 The woman said to him, ‘Sir, give me this water so that I won't get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.' 16 He told her, ‘Go, call your husband and come back.' 17 ‘I have no husband,' she replied. Jesus said to her, ‘You are right when you say you have no husband. 18 The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.' 19 ‘Sir,' the woman said, ‘I can see that you are a prophet. 20 Our ancestors worshipped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.' 21 ‘Woman,' Jesus replied, ‘believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.' 25 The woman said, ‘I know that Messiah' (called Christ) ‘is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.' 26 Then Jesus declared, ‘I, the one speaking to you – I am he.' The disciples rejoin Jesus 27 Just then his disciples returned and were surprised to find him talking with a woman. But no one asked, ‘What do you want?' or ‘Why are you talking with her?' 28 Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, 29 ‘Come, see a man who told me everything I've ever done. Could this be the Messiah?' 30 They came out of the town and made their way towards him. John 4:39-42 Many Samaritans believe 39 Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman's testimony, ‘He told me everything I've ever done.' 40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. 41 And because of his words many more became believers. 42 They said to the woman, ‘We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Saviour of the world.'

Bible readings (NIVUK): Mark 10:46-52 Blind Bartimaeus receives his sight 46 Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means ‘son of Timaeus'), was sitting by the roadside begging. 47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, ‘Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!' 48 Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me!' 49 Jesus stopped and said, ‘Call him.' So they called to the blind man, ‘Cheer up! On your feet! He's calling you.' 50 Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. 51 ‘What do you want me to do for you?' Jesus asked him. The blind man said, ‘Rabbi, I want to see.' 52 ‘Go,' said Jesus, ‘your faith has healed you.' Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road. Luke 10:25-37 The parable of the good Samaritan 25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. ‘Teacher,' he asked, ‘what must I do to inherit eternal life?' 26 ‘What is written in the Law?' he replied. ‘How do you read it?' 27 He answered, ‘“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind”; and, “Love your neighbour as yourself.”' 28 ‘You have answered correctly,' Jesus replied. ‘Do this and you will live.' 29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, ‘And who is my neighbour?' 30 In reply Jesus said: ‘A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half-dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he travelled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. “Look after him,” he said, “and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.” 36 ‘Which of these three do you think was a neighbour to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?' 37 The expert in the law replied, ‘The one who had mercy on him.' Jesus told him, ‘Go and do likewise.'

Bible readings Colossians 4:2-6 (NIVUK) Further instructions 2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 5 Be wise in the way you act towards outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. 1 Timothy 2:1-6 (NIVUK) Instructions on worship 2 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.

Bible reading: Luke 15:11-32 (NIVUK) The parable of the lost son 11 Jesus continued: ‘There was a man who had two sons. 12 The younger one said to his father, “Father, give me my share of the estate.” So he divided his property between them. 13 ‘Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. 14 After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. 16 He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything. 17 ‘When he came to his senses, he said, “How many of my father's hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.” 20 So he got up and went to his father. ‘But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms round him and kissed him. 21 ‘The son said to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.” 22 ‘But the father said to his servants, “Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.” So they began to celebrate. 25 ‘Meanwhile, the elder son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. 27 “Your brother has come,” he replied, “and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.” 28 ‘The elder brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. 29 But he answered his father, “Look! All these years I've been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. 30 But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!” 31 ‘“My son,” the father said, “you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.”'
