This week, Mike and EB pay tribute to Dolly Parton, reflecting on a career and a spirit that somehow united an entire divided country in genuine admiration — from her decades of quiet, unpublicized generosity to the way Dollywood itself became an extension of who she was rather than a monument built in her name. In Quick Hits, the guys cover a CNN investigation into a string of serious injuries on X2 at Six Flags Magic Mountain, including a wrongful death settlement tied to a 2022 incident, and talk honestly about whether this ride will ever run again. There's also news on expansion plans spotted near Monsters Unchained at Universal's Epic Universe, and Six Flags St. Louis's rebrand to Mid-America Adventure under new ownership. After the break, a Kings Island trip report on the reimagined dark ride Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare, plus the Coaster Radio mailbag packed with rare international park maps. Then Emmy-winning WGN-TV Chicago anchor and longtime friend of the show Marcus Leshock returns for the first time in over a decade to talk about his own personal history with Dolly Parton — including firsthand stories from spending time with her both on and off camera — and shares his take on this year's Halloween Horror Nights lineup at Universal Orlando, from the scale of the original haunted house concepts to what changes as the season progresses.

If aliens landed on Earth tomorrow, would humanity unite to welcome our new extraterrestrial neighbors… or would we immediately start arguing about who owns the spaceship? You already know the answer. This episode of The Rizzuto Show begins with a perfectly reasonable hypothetical: UFOs have landed and aliens are officially confirmed to be on Earth. How are you feeling? Curious? Terrified? Mostly annoyed that the 24-hour news cycle will somehow make it the third-biggest story of the afternoon? The crew dives into UFOs becoming UAPs, government disclosures, Bob Lazar, Area 51 and whether actual extraterrestrial visitors could finally unite humanity. Rafe thinks having one common alien enemy might finally turn us all into citizens of Earth. Moon isn't buying that optimism and figures we'd probably start fighting over which country gets custody of the aliens before they even get out of the ship. Sounds about right.Back on Earth, St. Louis is getting a little Hollywood treatment with The Streak, a sports comedy filming locally about Caltech's legendary basketball team snapping a 310-game losing streak. The production needs roughly 1,800 volunteer extras for basketball crowd scenes, meaning you too can spend five hours waiting around for your glorious half-second of blurry cinematic immortality. At least they're bringing stand-up comedians in to entertain the extras between takes. Then we enter conspiracy territory with Tropical Storm Dolly. Yes, shortly after Dolly Parton's passing, the next named Atlantic storm happens to be Dolly. No, they didn't name it after her. Yes, the names were already determined. And yes, people online are still turning it into a conspiracy because apparently coincidence was removed from the Internet's vocabulary sometime around 2017. It's the kind of discussion a comedy podcast was genetically engineered to handle. The show also remembers the incredible Tim Curry, looking back at everything from The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Clue to Home Alone 2, Congo and his nightmare-fueling performance as Pennywise in the 1990 TV adaptation of It. Somehow that horrifying sewer scene aired on network television and an entire generation of children was simply expected to sleep afterward. The '90s were built different.Crap on Celebrities brings even more chaos: the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni legal saga, Jamie Foxx discussing changes made to Django Unchained, a Quentin Tarantino-written Cliff Booth project, the original Sandlot cast reuniting for Dugout Dads, and the revelation that Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez grew up to become a firefighter. There is also a detour into a bizarre 2015 incident involving actor Mike Vitar because apparently even The Sandlot can't survive this show without us finding something weird.Ozzy Osbourne is getting his own Halloween Horror Nights attraction, Boston is celebrating 50 years with previously unreleased demos, Eric Clapton and John Mayer have a limited-edition guitar collection benefiting Clapton's recovery center, and Rupert Grint is returning as an adult Ron Weasley on Broadway. It's celebrity news, music news and pop culture commentary delivered with the level of professionalism you've come to expect from people debating alien treaties earlier in the episode. But then comes the real scientific research:Who has the most aura?According to an online ranking of effortless presence, charisma and coolness, Keanu Reeves sits at number one.Number two?Jesus. That's correct. According to the Internet, Keanu Reeves has officially edged out Jesus in aura.John Cena, Willem Dafoe, Christian Bale, Tupac, Robert Downey Jr., Matthew McConaughey, Michael Jackson, Jim Carrey, The Rock and Henry Cavill also make appearances as the crew debates who actually deserves to rank among humanity's most effortlessly cool people. Michael Jackson at number eleven? Rafe has questions. And frankly, so should you. Finally, the crew returns to Dolly Parton's remarkable legacy and the mountain of projects she left behind, including products, productions and even a song intended for release around her 100th birthday. Meaning Dolly apparently planned her content calendar farther into the future than most of us have planned lunch.Aliens. UFO conspiracies. Tim Curry. Dolly Parton. Hollywood. Ozzy. The Sandlot. Celebrity gossip. And Keanu Reeves defeating the Son of God in an online aura ranking. That's your comedy podcast for the day.Humanity might not be ready for aliens. We're apparently barely ready for a celebrity aura poll.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The Rizzuto Show kicks things off by remembering Tim Curry, his legendary career, and the unfortunate timing of losing another beloved celebrity during an already emotional week. That leads the crew into the important question of who could possibly fill the role of a universally beloved celebrity these days. Adam Sandler gets consideration, Jeff Bridges enters the conversation, and eventually Keanu Reeves emerges as a pretty strong candidate because apparently quietly eating ice cream and being a decent human being now qualifies you for sainthood. Fair enough. Then everybody gets nostalgic about childhood discipline, which quickly becomes less “remember the good old days?” and more “should somebody have called somebody?” The crew remembers wooden spoons, belts, Hot Wheels tracks, fly swatters, soap in the mouth and the terrifying parental phrase that basically meant your afternoon plans had been canceled. It's another wholesome trip down memory lane from your favorite funny podcast, assuming your memories involve calculating the trajectory of a leather belt like you're working for NASA.Next stop: Burning Man, where the crew investigates the return of the infamous adults-only dome after last year's wind-related disaster. There are rules now: IDs, consent, no recording devices and, most importantly, no singles strolling in alone. Which naturally launches a completely necessary discussion about whether two buddies could simply pretend to be a couple to get through the door. Journalism is alive and well.Things somehow become more respectable when we arrive in Tulsa, where authorities are searching for a mysterious serial defecator accused of targeting businesses while dressed in an ensemble involving tiny underwear, a shower cap, a modified mask and Crocs. The most damning detail? The Crocs apparently weren't in sport mode. That's how you know this guy fears neither God nor law enforcement. And then comes Oreogate.A kindergarten mom reportedly asks the other parents to stop packing Oreos because her daughter gets upset when other kids have them. No allergy. No medical issue. Just the brutal realization that another five-year-old has cookies and you do not. When the other parents refuse to reorganize their children's lunches around this international crisis, Mom considers switching schools.Over Oreos.Meanwhile, the kid starts trading for them anyway, proving once again that kindergarten cafeterias are basically tiny prisons with better wall art. The crew debates school-lunch currency, Double Stuf superiority, Golden Oreos, questionable specialty flavors and the economic insanity required to consider changing schools because Nabisco has destroyed the peace. There are even pickle-flavored Oreo-adjacent horrors entering the studio, because apparently talking about terrible cookies wasn't enough—we needed witnesses. It's celebrity talk, childhood trauma disguised as nostalgia, weird news, Burning Man logistics, criminal fashion analysis and one kindergarten snack dispute treated with roughly the seriousness of an international trade embargo. It's celebrity news, music news and pop culture commentary delivered with the level of professionalism you've come to expect from people debating alien treaties earlier in the episode. Before social media algorithms knew everything about you, the internet was a simpler place. A lawless, dial-up wasteland where your email address was probably something like BongRipper69@hotmail.com and one accidental click on Rotten.com could permanently alter the trajectory of your childhood. So naturally, The Rizzuto Show is going back. This episode starts with more nostalgia for the early internet and one of its most infamous destinations: Rotten.com. Back then, you couldn't just stumble across every horrifying thing imaginable while casually scrolling your phone. No, sir. You had to work for your trauma. You had to hear about Rotten.com from somebody, type it into the family computer, click something you absolutely shouldn't have clicked, and then wait patiently while your dial-up connection loaded your lifelong regret one horrifying line at a time. Was Rotten.com disgusting? Absolutely.Does the crew still seem weirdly sad that it's gone? Also absolutely. Then we move from internet trauma to another relic of the '90s and early 2000s: Hotmail.A poll says 18% of people are apparently still rocking a Hotmail address, which leads to an important discovery: Hotmail never completely disappeared. Microsoft eventually transitioned the service into Outlook, meaning technically some of us may still be living inside the Hotmail universe. We're all dorks. Fantastic. The crew remembers the era when nobody used their actual name for an email address. Instead, we created identities that looked like rejected Xbox gamertags: random nicknames, 420s, 69s and enough questionable innuendo to make applying for a respectable adult job years later slightly complicated. And then there are the complaint emails.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.Tulsa cops hunting ‘serial defecator' wearing thong, mask and shower cap who terrorized local businessesBride and groom bedridden for days after norovirus-tainted wedding mealTim Curry, Famous for Roles in Rocky Horror Picture Show, It and Annie, Dies at 80, 14 Years After Paralyzing StrokeDozens of new Missouri laws take effect FridayMan, 26, arrested after dressing as ‘Grim Reaper' and climbing onto hospital roof with long scythe to stare at patientsWhy You Shouldn't Squish Ants—and What to Do InsteadMaryville University Hockey Rink expansion to be named after Blues legendSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Jim Hill and Eric Hersey trace the unlikely journey of Stranger Things from the Duffer Brothers' rejected pitch to one of Netflix's defining franchises - and a recurring Halloween Horror Nights favorite. They revisit how Universal translated Hawkins and the Upside Down into elaborate haunted houses, why the creative partnership worked so well, and how those early attractions helped prove that fans wanted to physically step inside Netflix's worlds. Then Jim and Eric bring the story up to the present with Netflix House in Philadelphia and the latest Stranger Things experience headed to Halloween Horror Nights 35. FEATURE • How Matt and Ross Duffer turned their original Montauk concept into Stranger Things after a string of network rejections. • Why the show's mix of Stephen King, Steven Spielberg, John Carpenter, 1980s nostalgia, and breakout young performers became a cultural phenomenon. • How Stranger Things first came to Halloween Horror Nights in 2018, with the Duffer Brothers giving Universal extensive creative access. • The painstaking work behind recreating Hawkins, the Byers house, the Upside Down, and the Demogorgon for Universal Orlando and Hollywood. • Why the 2019 and 2023 Stranger Things houses evolved differently on each coast rather than becoming simple clones. • Jim and Eric's visit to Netflix House at King of Prussia and its immersive Stranger Things experience. • How Netflix expanded Stranger Things into touring experiences, live theater, permanent attractions, and other extensions beyond the streaming series. • What Halloween Horror Nights 35 could represent as one of the final major theme park celebrations of Hawkins and its characters. An absolutely jam-packed, mid-August episode of Breakfast All Day. Here's what we've got for you: THE END OF OAK STREET. Suburbia and dinosaurs and divorce! This isn't a Spielberg movie, but it sure feels like it. Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella and Christian Convery star as a family who wake up and discover that their pleasant cul-de-sac has been picked up and plopped down in the prehistoric era. From writer-director David Robert Mitchell. In theaters. TEENAGE SEX AND DEATH AT CAMP MIASMA. We're catching up with Jane Schoenbrun's follow-up to "I Saw the TV Glow" as it expands into more theaters. Hannah Einbinder stars as a queer filmmaker who's reinvigorating a problematic horror franchise, with hopes that its reclusive, original Final Girl (Gillian Anderson) will star. Funny, thoughtful, self-aware and brimming with clever details. In theaters. THE WRONG GIRLS. Kristen Stewart and Alia Shawkat co-star as stoner best friends who stumble across a mysterious substance that gives them unexpected powers, sort of? The feature debut from writer-director Dylan Meyer (Stewart's wife) is a larky romp across Los Angeles. Maybe it helps if you're high, too. Co-starring LaKeith Stanfield, Kate McKinnon, Seth Rogen and Kumail Nanjiani. In theaters. MOVIE NEWS LIVE! What a treat! The great Dave White (Alonso's husband) joined our Friday livestream, so this went extra long. Among the many topics we covered were the latest in the Paramount/Warner Bros. merger, Nikki from "Obsession" joining Universal's Halloween Horror Nights, Nicholas Hoult joining the "Harry Potter" series and John Oliver's soap opera run. We're here Fridays at Noon Pacific.  Thanks so much for starting your weekend with us! Subscribe to Christy's Saturday Matinee newsletter: https://christylemire.beehiiv.com/

Halloween season is taking over the theme park industry — and apparently everybody wants some of Universal's IP money. On Episode 275 of the Vacationeers Theme Parks & More Podcast, Tom and Jon look at the growing battle over licensed Halloween properties as Six Flags, United Parks and Universal roll out some big-name horror franchises.Six Flags is bringing Jason Voorhees to select parks with JASON: Blood Reign, while Cedar Point and Kings Dominion are opening a portal to Blizzard's Diablo franchise.United Parks is making one of its biggest moves yet into licensed Halloween IP, bringing I Know What You Did Last Summer to SeaWorld parks and Anaconda to Busch Gardens Tampa and Williamsburg. We go through the latest Howl-O-Scream houses and scare zones, along with some interesting comments from United Parks management about why IP could become increasingly important to the event.Over at Universal, Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness is coming to Halloween Horror Nights — and now Ozzy is getting his own themed HHN bar as well. We also discuss the latest HHN updates, Universal Orlando's 2026 holiday plans and Universal Nights tickets going on sale. Then we compare the latest quarterly results from Six Flags, United Parks and Disney Experiences. Disney had the strongest quarter of the three, while United Parks continues to see guests spend more money inside its parks even as attendance struggles.Disney is also using an internal J.A.R.V.I.S. AI system with Imagineers, and we look at what has already been revealed at D23 ahead of the big Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase. Before the news, it's time for The Queue!Tom talks about a recent SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica visit where he and Elena:Picked up their free Pass Member basting brushes.Hit Waterway Grill Bar's happy hour for a $5 beer and $9 cocktail.Tried the Jalapeño Cheese Warm Pretzel and Bougee Bratwurst at Red, White & BBQ — spending just 20 cents on each after using SeaWorld Bucks.Discovered Aquatica's Happy Hour promotion has ended.Ordered “single” scoops of ice cream that somehow turned into three scoops each…and then became free when the register went down.Used Beach Bucks and Pass Member discounts to grab kids meals and beers at Waterstone Grill for final out-of-pocket totals of just $2.67 and $2.71.Tom also talks about getting to Busch Gardens Tampa for Kumba's final weekend, arriving for 8 a.m. early entry and getting three final rides on the legendary coaster. And naturally, since every theme park company is licensing an IP for Halloween now, Tom has an announcement of his own:The IP-licensed Pitch Perfect condo Halloween event is apparently coming soon.

The house blurred the line between Chance's fantasies and reality as guests entered her disturbing playground of carnage. But Chance wasn't the only attraction.HHN 26 delivered an impressive lineup of horror properties, including The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, The Exorcist, Halloween: Hell Comes to Haddonfield, Krampus, The Walking Dead, and the highly anticipated American Horror Story house. The American Horror Story house was particularly ambitious, combining three seasons of the FX series — Murder House, Freak Show, and Hotel — into a single experience, making it one of the event's most talked-about IPs that yearMake your rooms, cars and life smell like your favorite Theme Park and save 15% by using code THNETWORK and  clicking here:https://magiccandlecompany.com?sca_ref=8499280.CVzaCEZ7KoGhost Executioners Merchandise!https://www.teepublic.com/user/thehorrificnetwork?utm_source=designer&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=horrificnetworkFollow All Things Horrific Network Herehttps://linktr.ee/thehorrificnetworkGet Your Sinister Creature Con Tickets Herehttps://www.sinistercreaturecon.com/thecon

Send us Fan MailScott and Michelle continue their journey through Halloween Horror Nights history with a deep dive into Halloween Horror Nights 27, the 2017 event that delivered an incredible mixture of blockbuster horror properties, original concepts, and one of the strangest event mascots in HHN history.HHN 27 ran from September 15 through November 4, 2017, featuring nine haunted houses, five official scare zones, and two live shows. At the center of the event was Bone, the mysterious skeletal character associated with Festival of the Deadliest, a scare zone celebrating some of the deadliest creatures and killers imaginable. Bone became one of those HHN characters that fans couldn't help but remember. But the houses were where 2017 really made its mark. The guys break down the arrival of Stranger Things, which transported guests into Hawkins and the Upside Down, as well as The Shining, bringing the terrifying Overlook Hotel and Jack Torrance to life. They also revisit Ash vs Evil Dead, the return of American Horror Story with Asylum, Coven, and Roanoke, The Horrors of Blumhouse, and another chapter of The Walking Dead. The 2017 American Horror Story house specifically combined three seasons of the series into one experience. The original houses get plenty of attention as well, including Scarecrow: The Reaping, Dead Waters, and The Hive, while the streets offered memorable experiences such as Trick 'r Treat, The Purge, Invasion!, Chainsaw Clown Horde, and Festival of the Deadliest. The episode also looks at the impact of Hurricane Irma, which hit Florida just before the event and affected the preparation and opening presentation of several scare zones. Scott and Michelle break down the houses, zones, shows, characters, atmosphere, and overall legacy of HHN 27, while asking whether 2017 deserves to be remembered as one of the more underrated years of the 2010s.It's time to open the Time Capsule and head back to 2017.Make your rooms, cars and life smell like your favorite Theme Park and save 15% by using code THNETWORK and  clicking here:https://magiccandlecompany.com?sca_ref=8499280.CVzaCEZ7KoGhost Executioners Merchandise!https://www.teepublic.com/user/thehorrificnetwork?utm_source=designer&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=horrificnetworkFollow All Things Horrific Network Herehttps://linktr.ee/thehorrificnetworkGet Your Sinister Creature Con Tickets Herehttps://www.sinistercreaturecon.com/thecon

Send us Fan MailScott and Michelle continue their year-by-year exploration of Halloween Horror Nights with a deep dive into Halloween Horror Nights 23, an event that fully embraced Hollywood horror franchises while still delivering memorable original concepts. This episode revisits every haunted house from the 2013 event, including fan favorites like An American Werewolf in London, Resident Evil: Escape from Raccoon City, The Cabin in the Woods, Evil Dead, After Life: Death's Vengeance, Havoc: Derailed, Psychoscareapy: Unleashed, and La Llorona: Cazadora de Niños. Scott and Michelle discuss which houses still hold up today and which helped define the modern HHN experience. The conversation also explores one of the event's biggest creative decisions: transforming nearly the entire park into The Walking Dead: The Undead Streets, making AMC's hit zombie series the dominant theme throughout the scare zones. They also revisit the return of Bill & Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure, The Rocky Horror Picture Show: A Tribute, and the continued evolution of the event's live entertainment. Was HHN 23 one of the best licensed events Universal has ever produced? Scott and Michelle break down the houses, scares, entertainment, and lasting legacy of an event that remains a favorite among many HHN fans.Make your rooms, cars and life smell like your favorite Theme Park and save 15% by using code THNETWORK and  clicking here:https://magiccandlecompany.com?sca_ref=8499280.CVzaCEZ7KoGhost Executioners Merchandise!https://www.teepublic.com/user/thehorrificnetwork?utm_source=designer&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=horrificnetworkFollow All Things Horrific Network Herehttps://linktr.ee/thehorrificnetworkGet Your Sinister Creature Con Tickets Herehttps://www.sinistercreaturecon.com/thecon

Send us Fan MailScott and Michelle continue their chronological journey through Halloween Horror Nights history with a deep dive into Halloween Horror Nights 22, one of the most experimental and memorable events of the modern era.Rather than centering the event around a single icon, HHN 22 introduced The Legions of Horror, turning nearly the entire park into one massive roaming scare zone filled with vampires, warriors, zombies, prisoners, beasts, and the sinister Iniquitus. It marked the first time since 2007 that Universal focused on one large park-wide scare zone instead of several individual scare zones. The episode also revisits one of the strongest licensed lineups of the early 2010s, including The Walking Dead: Dead Inside, Welcome to Silent Hill—the first video game property ever featured at Halloween Horror Nights—Alice Cooper: Welcome to My Nightmare, and the wildly inventive Penn & Teller: New(kd) Vegas. Scott and Michelle also discuss standout original houses like Dead End, Gothic, and Universal's House of Horrors, which celebrated Universal Pictures' century-long horror legacy. Beyond the houses, they revisit the return of Bill & Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure, the debut of 20 Penny Circus: Fully Exposed, and the first Halloween Horror Nights Cinematic Spectacular, while discussing how HHN 22 balanced blockbuster IPs with memorable original concepts. Was HHN 22 an underrated classic?
