Large ensembles are the guiding thread of this segment, approached not as monuments but as flexible, expressive forces shaped by strong compositional voices. From a landmark Sonny Criss reissue with arrangements by Horace Tapscott to Miho Hazama's stunning reimagining of Thad Jones' legacy, Dan Rosenboom's genre-blurring large-ensemble work, and a freshly restored, richly orchestrated album by Carlos Garnett. Along the way—offering contrast without breaking the flow—intensity is reframed through Deadeye's latest album and Simon Jermyn's two recent projects. The playlist features Sonny Criss; Miho Hazama [pictured], Danish Radio Big Band, Danish National Symphony Orchestra; Dan Rosenboom; Deadeye; Simon Jermyn; Luke Marantz; and Carlos Garnett. Breathing keeps us alive. We do it on autopilot. But beyond that, what I've really noticed in both myself and many of my clients is that so many of us walk around like we're holding our breath. With the climate of the world the way it is, we've normalized stress and it often shows up in our bodies this way. That brings me to my special guest today on episode 172, Miyako Hazama. She caught my eye in one of the groups we're in together because she's a breath expert. In this episode, we have a conversation about how we can use our breath to help us heal ourselves, from the inside out. 1:44 - A little background on Miyako and what led to her work 7:45 - What Miyako's breathing technique for healing is all about 13:20 - How breath can bring your nervous system back online 19:06 - Where to start with your breathing so you can see what calm feels like in your body 24:44 - A visualization to help you practice Miyako's breathing technique 29:50 - How this breathing technique literally changed one woman from the inside out 31:42 - Breathing out what isn't useful and why I wanted to talk with someone with a solid background in breathwork 39:02 - The power of breathwork to help ease you through menopause and the aging process 46:00 - The difference in using Miyako's breathing technique as part of your self-love practice Find out more about Miyako's breathing technique and Energetic Life Design at her website. Ready to Positioning Your Business to Profit? Go to-->>> http://positioningtoprofit.com/On this episode, I am interviewing Miyako Hazama, who is one of my dear clients, absolute Rockstar. And the reason I say that and I come from a place of knowing is twofold. The first thing is she's probably one of my favorite clients because of the fact that she executes. And what I mean by that is like, it's not just note taking and thinking about concepts, it's literally executing. And any coach will tell you, any mentor will tell you, when you have a student, a client that puts things into action, it just builds the momentum, which is so much fun. The other side of it is one of the biggest passions I've really come to hone in on is to work with women who are transitioning careers, kind of that encore career stage, where I, for example, was incorporated for 18 years, and I made the big leap into entrepreneurship in January of 2013. And I do have quite a few clients that are pretty much in that same boat, where they are looking for that next career, right, something that is more aligned with their purpose, more aligned with who they really want to be serving and connecting with, and it's just so much fun. She has such a deep-rooted expertise around what she can do. And this really, this whole episode is just to bring to light, this whole concept of an encore career, the concept of fine-tuning your message so that you're connecting at a greater level. So if this is you, definitely you want to dive into this episode because it's chock-full of goodness.Connect with Miyako HazamaWEBSITE LINK: miyakohazama.comSOCIAL MEDIA LINKS:Miyako on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/YoungWithEnergyMiyako on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/miyakohazama/Miyako on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/stayyoungwithenergy/

The Other Side’s overview of BlazBlue continues, as the boys delve into the conclusion of Calamity Trigger, and the whole of Continuum Shift. From Hakumen’s memorable “old man’s tale”, to Makoto being the victim of the most chilling scene in video game history, the boys will walk you through every pivotal moment of BlazBlue up to this point. About our Interview with Composer, arranger, orchestrator and pianist, Miho Hazama joined us in the studio to talk about her path to finding her mix between classical and jazz music. Currently, she is a New York City based jazz composer traveling the world performing her music. Starting as a pianist, her early studies in electronic organ later helped her with orchestration. From the age of 7 she started to study composition and later her interest in jazz started from listening to all types of music and in college hearing a big-band in rehearsal. She shared how she learned to improvise and find a balance between classical and jazz. Her life as a performer-conductor, arranger and composer is a balance that keeps her active and always busy. Recently released, she describes her second album with her jazz chamber orchestra, which includes new instrumentation for jazz music.
