Sports are an important element of growing up for many children all across the world. For some kids, sports are more than a hobby, which can mean taking it very seriously and training very hard. And sometimes parents and others worry their children are working a bit too hard or are going about their training the wrong way. So, what might be better ways to handle athletic training for children? On this episode of Highway to Health, host David Kemp speaks with Blair Bundy, who is the Director of Player Health for the Milwaukee Brewers, about training young athletes and how to best keep them healthy. A trained physical therapist, Bundy's job consists of overseeing the day-to-day health operations of 180 players, which includes athletic training and psychological health.Since both Kemp and Bundy have experience in baseball, they know how athletic training has changed dramatically over the years. “It used to be you just had a batting cage, right? You had a batting cage you'd go to, you take your hacks, and you were good to go,” says Bundy. “But now it's like, there's batting lanes, and there's fancy pitching machines, and there's pitching coaches, hitting coaches, and there's probably somewhere there who's gonna tell you how to throw harder or swing harder or whatever else. So…there's a shift in how we're actually, like, approaching to talking to and training these kids.”Main topics covered in this episode also include:1. Different training methods that are implemented in youth athletics.2. Teaching children early proper moving patterns.3. The importance of emphasizing fun and love for sports.Bundy notes that current ways of training give the kids “wear and tear,” meaning “some kids survive and do really well with it, and some kids, I think, they kind of go through a meat grinder sometimes.” It is then in Bundy's view that there are better ways of training children, keeping them engaged, and fostering a true love for the sport that they can carry with them into the future.Blair Bundy got his Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M before becoming a Sports Physical Therapist for Physio and Houston Methodist. He has been with the Milwaukee Brewers, first as a Rehabilitation Coordinator, now as their Director of Player Health, for over five years.

The healthcare industry is facing a lot of challenges, like physician burnout, the high cost of care, a lack of insurance coverage, staffing problems, and a lack of adequate interactions between patients and providers, just to name a few. With the loads of technology and applications available, many providers still use fax machines as a mode of communication, making patient access to specialty care difficult and increasing the risk of compromising security. How can this problem be eradicated to increase first response, improve care transitions, and speed up the adoption of e-consults?In this new episode of Highway to Health, a podcast by MarketScale, host David Kemp chatted with Brooke LeVasseur, the CEO of AristaMD, the best person to provide insight into these questions and talk about the delivery of e-consults for patients and providers. At the start of the episode, Kemp asked LeVasseur about the habits she has adopted to maintain her physical and mental stability:"For me, and I've struggled with this my whole life, every year I recommit to improving my sleep. Sleep is like the number one building block, and that's an ongoing struggle for me, but I try to setup good routines for myself so that I'm getting solid, uninterrupted sleep. For stress relief, I'm really into athletic activities. I try to be outside, take walks, and my whole family is into surfing... I can't get started until I get some sweat on, and that helps me stay sane and focused—it's a lot of great benefit," LeVasseur said.Kemp and LeVasseur's conversation included the following:• Health equity• E-consults: Other technologies patients can use other than a FaceTime experience• What goes into care coordination and communication between PCPs and specialists• Who has the biggest lever that could be used to speed up the adoption of digital platforms that improve outcomes. "I think the technologies that have been effective in helping that problem are those that let physicians do what they are meant to do, which is treat patients and get more face-to-face patient time. Arista is focused on how we can get providers to not only do what they are trained to do but really to let everyone in the healthcare system operate at the top of their license, and sometimes you can best do that by giving them technology tools so that they are handling the most complex, acute cases that are appropriate for their licensure," LeVasseur explained."Health equity really requires everyone to have access to affordable care and that they can get to that care in a timely fashion. If you are far away from providers, it's a challenge for anyone living in those remote districts, but surprisingly, folks have huge access problems that lead to inequity in urban settings. Sometimes the barrier isn't your location; it might be your health insurance. We see tons of Medicaid patients struggling to get care because specialists won't see Medicaid patients," she added.Brooke LeVasseur is the CEO of AristaMD and has 20 years of leadership experience launching new, innovative healthcare products and solutions for payers and providers, including software and e-consult solutions. Throughout her career, LeVasseur has worked with numerous startups in a variety of capacities, including corporate and commercial strategy, marketing, and new business creation. She brings a wealth of experience drawn from executive roles at Thomson Reuters, Veracyte, and Sequenom, as well as an array of consultant roles at industry-leading investment and healthcare companies such as Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Versant Ventures, Illumina, Cypher Genomics, and GRAIL. What does the biotech industry look like today and what are some of the new therapeutic options under development? On today's episode of Highway to Health, Host David Kemp speaks with Tilat Imran, CEO of Rani Therapeutics, to discuss the current and future state of the biotech industry and how Rani's new “injection” pill works and what are its potential applications. So, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, osteoporosis…eventually, we want to do work in oncology. There's a real potential there, we think, to use Rani pills with more frequent dosing to perhaps get better efficacy out of the same drugs that are being given more infrequently now.” Imran is CEO of Rani Therapeutics and has previously worked for VentureHealth, InCube Labs, Venture Web Partners, The Angels' Forum, and Talat Imran Consulting. Morse first dispels the myths of raw fruitarian and vegan diets and sheds light on the confusion of high protein diets which cause acidity in the body. We learn about juice fasting and the nuances of different juices that can be used as well as his belief that clear pee is not healthy. We delve into the fallacy of germ theory and the ignorance of medical practice when it comes to body function and the importance of the lymphatic system which is still the most misunderstood system in the body today. Morse shows us that foods can be broken down into alkali and acidic food types - alkali foods are electrical and hydrating while acidic foods steal your energy and acidify your body. Finally, Morse gives us some practical first steps for trying a fruitarian diet and bodybuilding with the right type of building block, amino acids from fruits and vegetables. The Conscious RenegadeWebsite: https://theconsciousrenegade.com/Get access to privacy and investing strategies to exit the Great Resethttps://cryptonomousconsulting.com/membership-join/Dr Robert Morse Detox Clinichttps://drmorsesdetoxclinicandstore.com/International School of Healing Arts and Scienceshttps://internationalschoolofthehealingartsandsciences.com/Educational Videos from Dr Robert Morsehttps://drmorse.tv/

On this special episode of Highway to Health, David Kemp talks with his father, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Kemp. Dr. Kemp followed his father into the Air Force. He expected to do it for a few years and start a practice somewhere but ended up having a long tenure in the service.“My dad thought I was crazy for going through dental school and then joining the military,” said Dr. Kemp. He saw it as an opportunity to move his family and grow his children's ability to become adaptable. Before Dr. Kemp was born, his father had been a pilot in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Dr. Kemp recalls how his father talked about it and saw his uniforms growing up. He knew his father took a lot of pride in his time as a veteran. Dr. Kemp's dental school classmate got him to consider the path to the services. However, he knew he would want to go into the Air Force. Dr. Kemp and his wife met when she needed a dental procedure and married within 12 weeks of the meeting, shortly after the new couple moved to Germany for the Air Force.“We all just want to be like our dads, at the end of it,” said Kemp to his father. Our host reflected on the things that stand out from his childhood and lessons from his father. “When I think about the stuff I learned from you growing up… doing the right thing when nobody's looking. That's who you really are. Your character is who you are and what you act like when no one else is around,” he said. Of course, the instrumental parent relationship impacts who people grow to be. Dr. Kemp shares the wisdom of his time in the military and as a family man.“Doing your best, making sure that you're doing the best job you can,” Dr. Kemp said, is a key takeaway from his time in the military. Dr. Kemp wasn't afraid of moving with his family every three to four years and saw it as an opportunity to ensure that his children weren't getting stuck in a rut. Kemp reflects fondly on his childhood and his time with his father. Kemp closes with gratitude. “I wanna thank you for the dad that you were, the dad that you are, and the dad you'll always be,” said Kemp to his father.

[22:41] On his move to New York, the dissolution of Outface which eventually led to him picking up a guitar and working by himself, Derrick talks about how he ended up trying out for the lead singer of Sepultura. [28:48] Going down to Brazil to meet and do an audition, Derrick talks about how wonderfully open everyone was in introducing him to their families and well as life in Brazil. [33:05] Derrick's first world tour led to him falling in love with the Netherlands and living in Amsterdam for two years before moving to Sao Paulo Brazil to be part of the writing process. [35:51] The massive global impact of Sepultura probably has its roots in the fact that the band originated in South America and that the lyrics resonated with the larger worldwide population in a way American bands can't. [41:00] Derrick talks about his 35-year-long plant-based lifestyle which he showcases in his show Derrick and Tanya's Highway to Health. He also touches on his environmental activism. SummaryThe longer we are in this whole COVID situation, the more I realize that probably one of our biggest challenges is the abundance of misinformation and the lack of trust in governments, organizations and in healthcare professionals in general…In this conversation, Dr Nick and I talk about several things but, when it comes to a doctor patient relationship, we both agree that (1) you might not see eye to eye with your doctor, or maybe you don't feel that trust to open up… And, truth is… that's ok. It doesn't make you or your doctor a bad person. You simply don't gel. Which brings me to (2) in those cases, it's ok to switch doctors. In fact, it's better for you to switch doctors and find one that you trust, one that you feel understands you and whose guidance you will actually follow.⭐️ Rate this episode -> https://dre.show/rate✅ Apply to work directly with Dr E -> https://dre.show/coach

OG CHAT BEHIND CLOSED DOORS EPISODE 38 This episode was recorded at the pandemic times in New York . We all experienced that harsh reality of world wide crisis . OG Talk crew decided to create a special segment for that period and we called it "OG Chat, Behind Closed Doors". Tanya shared with Eddie and Vlad how her love to animals brought her to veganism and years of volunteering at animals shelters. Growing up in small town in Ireland it was not easy to be a vegan. Her family physician, her mom were really worried about her becoming malnutritioned. It took a lot of resilience and stubbornness to stick to what she believed in. Over the years not only Tanya succeeded in planting the seed of awareness about veganism into everyone she ever met, she also patiently studied bass guitar and played in myriad of bands. Fast track to today: she tours internationally with renown entertainers like Dee Snider , Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones, Steven Adler of Guns and Roses and etc. She still cant seat still and she is full of energy thanks to yoga and healthy eating. She is a keynote speaker in the leadership realm, and a lifelong advocate and activist for animal, human and environmental issues. And since the last years she is a co host of a "Highway to Health" video series project that she leads with Derrick Green, a vocalist of a legendary band Sepultura . They are traveling around the world interviewing vegan celebrities, chefs, activists , manufacturers . We really hope you enjoy this interview as much as we did!
