News and Notes About "Tipline Mysteries: Dial 1 For Murder" Chris McNally stars as Detective Beeks. Chris has previously co-starred in 63 episodes as Lucas Bouchard in "When Calls the Heart." We last saw him in "3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost" alongside partner Julie Gonzalo. Holland Roden plays tipline operator Maddie Moore. She has just one previous Hallmark credit having co-starred with Tyler Hynes in "Time For Him to Come Home for Christmas" in 2022. Related: Is "3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost" one of Hallmark Channel's best ever movies in the new era? Christine Conradt wrote the screenplay. She has 74 other writing credits, including a few of our Hallmark favorites like "As Luck Would Have It" and "On the 12th Date of Christmas." She seems to prefer darker fare, having written scripts for movies like "Girlfriend Killer" and "Boyfriend Killer." Mother/Daughter directing duo Jessica and Cynde Harmon are responsible for "Tipline Mysteries." Jessica Harmon is an accomplished actor but also has 18 directing credits. The vast majority of these credits are for Hallmark and include "Rip in Time," "Joyeaux Noel," and "Dream Moms." This is Cynde Harmon's first directing credit. She has served as a producer on 21 projects that include "Pumpkin Pie Wars," "North to Home," and "Christmas at the Golden Dragon." Related: What did Girls Gone Hallmark think of "Pumpkin Pie Wars?" Cardi Wong plays Officer Tran. Cardi has 50 acting credits and has been seen on Hallmark in "A Season for Family" and "The Gift of Peace." We just reviews one of Cardi's older movies - "Flip That Romance" which co-stars Chris McNally's partner, Julie Gonzalo. Cassandra Sawmill plays Amanda. She has 28 acting credits as well as three upcoming projects. This appears to be her first appearance on Hallmark. Jill Teed plays the Police Captain. She has 105 acting credits which include "Three Wise Men and a Baby" and two "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" movies. Riley Davis plays nepo-baby Ethan. We last saw Riley as Mason (Walker's #2 guy) in "Curious Caterer." Watch the Trailer for "Tipline Mysteries: Dial 1 For Murder"

This week we talk with Hollywood power couple and writing team, Kimberly and Brant Daugherty. Just in time for the holiday season, we chat all about how they went from dating, to writing partners, how they sold and starred in their first Christmas movie (A Christmas Movie Christmas), what inspired their latest Hallmark Christmas hit (Joyeux Noel), how writing and directing has helped them grow as actors, and all the projects they have on the horizon. This is one busy couple, and we are so grateful for their time. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO HEAR: 2:17: Kimberly's origin story. What brought her to LA and how she got into acting. How she got her SAG card, booked her first movie and got her first reps. 8:07: How Kimberly found SKS and started taking acting class with us. What is her favorite part of the SKS acting and audition training style. 10:01: Brant's origin story. How he went from behind the scenes as a PA on Bring it On, to getting an agent and jump starting his acting career. (Thank you Holland Roden)! 12:07 Brant and Kimberly meeting at Holland's birthday dinner 10 years before they actually started dating. 14:54 Brant may best be known for his role on Pretty Little Liars, but find out what role is most dear to him to date. 20:22 How Brant and Kimberly became writing partners a year after dating and what they learned from each other in the process. 22:01 How the concept for A Christmas Movie Christmas was born! 26:43 The process of getting the movie sold to Marvista Entertainment (which happened a lot faster than you might think!) 28:49 Was it always a given that they would play the leads, or was that something they were willing to give up, if they had to, in order to get the film made. Was it hard to wear so many hats on set, as both writers and actors? 33:53 How they manage the highs and the lows of this business. 37:50 All about their most recent Hallmark Christmas movie, Joyeux Noel, which recently premiered on the Hallmark Channel and was the most watched cable program of the ENTIRE day!! 41:40: “I think you guys have hacked life. ‘I want to go to Europe, I want to see these markets. Let's write it, set it in Europe, pitch it, do it. Live our best life' 41:54: “Someone is out there doing that, and why shouldn't it be us? Someone's got that job…why not me” – Brant Daugherty 42:07: What would they tell our listeners who are feeling inspired by this episode? What is one actionable thing they could do today to get on the track of writing a project or creating something? 49:01 How Brant's 1 episode arc on Pretty Little Liars turned into 7 seasons! 51:10 “My goal every day was not to get fired” – Brant Daugherty 51:24 What's next for this dyanamic duo (besides having a 2.5 year old AND a newborn on the way!!) Spoiler alert: Kim has 4 projects currently in development!! 56:16 Are there any acting roles that they are dying to play, whether it's a type of character or genre? Happy Wine Wednesday! Two new spectacular guests to the pod - Laura Stone and Devil Doll - join me this week for the home going services of Derek Hale.   Grab your wine and join us as we unpack our feelings about the Teen Wolf movie.  Laura and Devil Doll are both passionate Teen Wolf fans and I had the best time talking about this mess with them. Before getting into this mess of a movie, I asked Laura and Devil Doll for their reflections on Teen Wolf as a series.  We then get into our deep dive of the movie.  We take the "compliment sandwich" approach to this conversation. We've got a very robust set of grievances with this film sandwiched between very thin layers of compliments.  It should come as no surprise that we kick off our critical thoughts about the film with the many, many crimes committed by Jeff Davis against Derek Hale.  We chat about the messy ways in which this film tries to grapple with the absence of Dylan O'Brien and you better believe we talk about the egregious treatment of Arden Cho.  We also lament that Jeff Davis decided to celebrate the opportunity to infuse more adult content into the film thanks to it being on Paramount Plus by giving us a sprinkling of profanity and ass shots - hence the title of this episode. We also give thanks to Colton Haynes and Ian Bohen for bringing some much needed camp to this film.  Truly wish Jackson had been given more to do!A lot of my friends had thoughts about this film, so this is the first of two episodes in which we will be discussing it - so stay tuned!Give Laura a follow on Twitter here and over on IG here.  You can also check out her website at this link. Happy Wine Wednesday!  Stacey AKA Sticky Keys of the Beacon Hills After Dark Podcast joins us this week for the third installment of our special series - The Pilot Project.  Halloween might be over, but we are still in a spooky ooky mood, so we are heading over to Beacon Hills, California to discuss the pilot episode of Teen Wolf. As you can imagine, we had a lot of fun at the expense of Jeff Davis, so we started the episode by saying something nice about Teen Wolf before the dragging commenced.  We then talk about what drew us to the series and share our overall thoughts on the pilot.  Next up, Jocelyn had some Qs that were in serious need of some As.  For example, were Scott and Stiles too old to be playing the "wanna see a dead body" game?  Just how quickly does Tyler Hoechlin go from clean shaven to 5 o'clock shadow?  Speaking of Hoechlin, what was the deal with Derek just appearing out of thin air?  And how adorable was Stiles in his suit and tie for a basic high school house party?Following that, we demand justice for Harley and have fun reflecting on some of the behind the scenes insights revealed in Entertainment Weekly's oral history of Teen Wolf, which you can find here.  The spoiler-free part of the episode closes with a riveting thirst discussion.  We talk about the objects of our thirst from the show and ponder what sex with a werewolf would be like.  Stacey teaches Jocelyn the meaning of refractory period and we share which spooky ooky supernaturals are at the top of our thirst list. For those who stick around for the spoiler section, we chat best villains, toughest departures, unintentionally hilarious moments, and character arcs.Give Stacey a follow on IG and Twitter.  Find Stacey's amazing writing here.  Also be sure to check out the Beacon Hills After Dark Podcast on IG, Twitter, Tumblr, and Patreon.  You can give this pod a follow as well on IG and Twitter.  Longer feedback can be sent to us at morewinepod@gmail.com.As always, we love you for listening!  Did you like this episode of the The Pilot Project series?  Be sure to check out our prior episodes on The Walking Dead and The Sopranos.  And check out our previous episodes on iconic shows like Pose, Bob's Burgers, Loki, and Black Ass Falcon and The Winter Soldier.  Into films?  We've got you covered.  Check out our past episodes on Black Widow, Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Suicide Squad, and The Thor-Verse.Friendly reminder - we drink and we know things.  Until next time!Support the show (https://ko-fi.com/morewinepod)

This is my review of Escape Room: Tournament of Champions, the sequel to Escape Room. It's psychological horror film directed by Adam Robitel and written by Will Honley, Maria Melnik, Daniel Tuch, and Oren Uziel that stars Taylor Russell and Logan Miller reprising their roles from the first film, alongside new cast members Indya Moore, Holland Roden, Thomas Cocquerel, and Carlito Olivero. The premise is: after surviving a series of harrowing, deadly escape rooms designed by Minos Escape Rooms Corporation, Zoey and Ben are determined to bring it to justice for the personally witnessed deaths of those who hadn't survived them. On their way to confront Minos in New York City, they are unexpectedly trapped with several other survivors of other escape rooms. They must all work together to get through yet another gauntlet of Minos' more elaborate and dangerous escape rooms if they are to have any hope of putting a stop to its murderous games once and for all. Listen to my thoughts and afterward, please share your opinions or questions. Ish.Timothy: And there's only one more Teen Wolf episode after these, and then Madison & Co. will get the attention...Dustin: And abuse...Timothy: ... they deserve. I have been watching Fear, and it is... well. It's Fear the Walking Dead. Good and bad.Dustin: Haven't seen any of the three episodes that've aired yet. I'll be caught up though, after Teen Wolf ends. Next week. It's all over in just a week.Timothy: Knowing that it's your favorite show on TV right now, how are you feeling about that?Dustin: A little sad, but hey, we've gotten six seasons of the crazy that is the Wolves that are Teens, so I'm happy about that.Timothy: Yeah, as a late arrival to this madness, I do have to say again, I am entertained. Baffled by many bizarre choices and rampant ridiculousness, but entertained none the less.Dustin: And then we do the Fear the Walking Dead thing right up to the return of original flavor The Walking Dead the end of October. TEEN WOLFSeason 6, Episode 16 "Triggers" Written by Eric Wallace Directed by Eric WallaceTimothy: So rather curiously, we had a bit of an audio glitch this week, and the first two minutes or so of the beginning of our recording just wasn't there.Dustin: Which means that we open talking about a book that isn't named, and that's all kinds of annoying. We were talking about missing Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett, which led to talking about series that were continued after Author Existence Failure, and specifically, the final Hitchhiker's book, Mostly Harmless.Timothy: Which ticked Dustin off so bad he didn't read Adams again for a year, until Blackadder brought that very English - and very influenced by Adam's depression - ending into perspective.Dustin: And now you're all caught up, in time to hear us discuss the most Filler-McFillerston episode of Teen Wolf. SO MUCH FILLER.Timothy: And only four more episodes after this, so what they were thinking, I couldn't even begin to tell you. I did like the chance to riff on the "full of spiders" thing again.Dustin: I really do think I'm going to get a pillow embroidered with "Nothing Good Is Ever Full Of Spiders". It will be a lesson I will happily pass onto my kids.Timothy: As a good father should. So sit back folks, and listen as we ask "why is this happening", and "don't they know that's not how that works"...Dustin: AND WHY ARE SCOTT AND MALIA A THING? WHY, SHOW? WHY?Timothy: You know... the important questions. And we'll see you next week, here on Zompocalypse Now!

Hi folks! It is just Dustin and me this week, but we make up for it by having two new episodes of Teen Wolf to discuss, and lots of all the things happened!Dustin: We're just five episodes away from the finale of the series after this, and at this rate they're going to end the show with the town burned to the ground. Welcome to Season 2 of Skillset — the podcast where every guest is an expert, and every week they teach you and me a new way to look at the movies. This season is about one thing: high school movies. Which means, well, it’s actually going to be about dozens of things, but especially: What a real-life witch thinks about The Craft, what a real-life principal thinks about Ferris Bueller, and lost Breakfast Club footage you’ve never seen. We’re talking about everything from Tom Cruise’s sunglasses to Carrie’s prom dress. Our first guest of the new season is Mean Girls expert Rosalind Wiseman, author of the book Queen Bees and Wannabes, who tells us how she’d update the movie if Lindsay Lohan was in high school today. Holland Roden and Shelly Hennig, the stars of MTV’s Teen Wolf, try to understand why the 31-year-old movie still has claws in audiences today. And Can’t Hardly Wait costume designer Mark Bridges talks about the best — and worst — of late-’90s fashion. You know what that means: scuba goggles. That’s all in this week’s episode of “Skillset.” Subscribe on iTunes or your favorite podcatcher, and if you learned something new — like I know I did — give us a rating. Class is now in session.
