In this Palisades interview, Tom Bodrovics welcomes back hosts global forecaster David Murin to delve into the differences between lateral and linear thinking in the context of current world conflicts. Murin posits that empires cycle through phases of thinking, with laterals leading initially and linears taking control as empires mature. He attributes the current global climate to an unprecedented level of linear thinking due to sophisticated money printing over the past two decades, which has left societies inflexible to dynamic threats. Murin further discusses geopolitical implications, particularly regarding the Houthis' actions in the Red Sea and its significance for American maritime hegemony. He raises concerns about China's involvement and advanced military capabilities, emphasizing the importance of maintaining control over critical sea lanes for wealth and resource extraction. Murin believes historical cycles of war could have been avoided with greater awareness and full-spectrum deterrence, aligning with the 112-year contractive cycle that has led to hegemonic conflicts throughout history. David also shares his views on China's strategic intentions and resource acquisitions, arguing that China is not primarily concerned with wartime resource gathering but rather denying resources to the West. He points to Argentina as an example where Chinese interests were rejected, giving the West a foothold in the region. Murin suggests Western engagement and political activism are necessary for regime change in countries with autocratic regimes. He uses numerous price-based systems to understand various markets and sectors, predicting a decline in bond prices and increased inflation for commodities due to excess demand from fiat money. David sees the current situation as a commodity supercycle that affects the entire commodities complex and causes inflation for all physical resources. War contributes to inflation during these cycles. Murin warns of impending wars, emphasizing the importance of adapting and strong leadership in response to threats. There, he engaged with the numerous tribes of the Sepik River, exploring the mineral composition of the region. Before the age of adventure tourism, this region was highly dangerous, very uncertain and local indigenous groups were often hostile and cannibalistic. David's work with the PNG tribespeople catalyzed his theories on collective human behavior. In the early 1980s, David embarked on a new career, joining JP Morgan in London. Watching his colleges on the trading floors, he quickly identified modern society also behaved collectively.

Murin and Ocker still find themselves in the Orion's cave of secrets. Orion watches from their bunker room as the pair debunk all of their traps. They've been pretty lucky up to this point, but what lies further in the cave may be a bit worse then an awkward dancing fawn.
The looming eyes of Orion follow Ocker and Murin through their first challenge. Heading through the digital cloister will be no easy feat though as Orion has more then a few tricks hidden up their sleeves. Like, a really cute moth that will inevitably distract Murin and become the new mascot for the entire campaign. Oh no!
Dr Will Mandy of University College London and DrMarianna Murin of Great Ormond Street Hospital discuss their research on the transition from primary to secondary school for children with autism spectrum disorder. First posted February 2015 You can read the associated article here
A mysterious pink eyed Orion sits in their office watching security monitors for hours and hours, what a true gamer. A sudden phone call from Valen demanding that Orion not meddle in the games at hand seems to have little effect on their plan in the situation. Meanwhile, Ocker and Murin learn more about the Dome and how there's a sick new trading card game hitting the streets. Will they catch them all or will they be banished to the shadow realm?
Murin and Ocker gather up their belongings, say goodbye to their weird little egg babies to head out to the next location, the Dome of Knights. But, before they ended up probably stranded, alone and helpless in the middle of the desert, they decide to hit up Vi and Buck for supplies. Buck tips them off to the leader of the Dome, Orion, an elusive leader who seems to have a knack for being a bit of a drain.
Ocker and Murin just can't seem to escape the calm and relaxation that is the inner sanctum. Good thing there's no adventures they need to go on or anything. Taking advice from Valen, the two head towards the local shops to gather some gear before making their way to the Dome of Knights. But not before they discover a cool little fact about their new found pet Jeremy.
After the mania that was Narrengarten, Murin and Ocker return to Valen's Crystal Castle for some well deserved R&R&R...or maybe just R&R. We catch up with the other contestants to see what monstrosities they've run into and if anyone has any answers to whatever Valen is planning here. Ocker ventures out on his own to try and get some answers from Valen while Murin finally gets the reward he's been pining after for 5 minutes.
Murin really needs to learn how to read the fine print on a flyer, or just how to read at all. With the first obstacle out of the way, Murin and Ocker must contend with the other contestants and make their way through the next two challenges. Shouldn't be a problem, after all they are the most cooperative, well mannered, communicative and handsomest couple in all of Shamshau...
LOOKOUT! A much-anticipated day has finally arrived, as Patti Murin joins us for Episode 87! Murin made her Broadway debut in one of our favorite shows of all time in Xanadu, and then went on to star in Lysistrata Jones, as well as the touring production of Wicked. She's also done a great deal of work on-screen including a recurring role on Chicago Med, and had starring roles in the Hallmark classics Holiday for Heroes and Love on Iceland. Of course, she's best known to the Broadway world for her most recent performance in Frozen when she starred as Anna, earning both Drama League and Outer Critic Circle Award nominations in the process. A proud New Yorker, Murin steps into The Batter's Box to discuss her long-time love of the New York Yankees. Whether it was their triumphs in the 2000 World Series against the Mets or the heartbreak endured during the 2004 ALCS against the Red Sox, Murin's relationship with the Pinstripes is marked by tremendous passion and spans all the peaks and valleys. She even has a specific code of ethics when it comes to following the team, and reveals some little-known facts about her sports fandom in general. In a conversation that truly covered all bases, we also discussed her biggest grand slams here on Broadway, the John Stamos-Beach Boys connection, and even played a fun round of Baseball meets Broadway trivia in this week's edition of The 7th Inning Stretch! Let's Duet breaks from it's regular scheduled program to bring you something a little bit different. We're turning the tables and flipping the lids on the formula and switching up roles for a fun little one off session...that is now going to be two episodes. This story takes place in the past with our two heroes finding themselves slightly burned out from adventuring and in need of a nice break. Murin finds a poster in the town square detailing a nice little retreat for weary adventurers. How nice of him!
After finally finding Alma there's only one more person to track down and deal with...Pillow. Murin has the bright idea to head straight into the void and get the inside scoop from an old friend. Ocker stays to defend Alma and ensure that everything would be alright...for the most part
Barnaby finally gets his wish and is reunited with his mother. Ocker gets his wish and helps Barnaby reunite with his mother. Murin gets the brother he never had Jeremy. However, the moment of fruition will soon pass as the trio have other immediate danger in front of them. One shaped like an over bloated marshmallow.
Ocker, Murin and friend find themselves trapped inside a once happy house of horrors. Fun! Barnaby insists his mom had built the place, but if there's a plaque of her on the wall, I haven't seen it. Slowly and cautiously we set out to discover what's going on here and whether or not we can start a new reality tv show about sharks and busses.
With a belly full of fried foods and a heart full of curiosity our boys politely slam their fists against Harrison's trailer door. He seems to have misplaced his arm and needs Ocker and Murin to go out and find it for him. Not before running into their good old friends Athena and Mason who seem to have plans of their own.
Off to circus city, not the other one that may or may not still be trademarked. What will the city that never stops having clowns it have to offer? A whimsical teleporting man who possesses the only thing that Murin's heart desires...a ruby rat.

Murin receives another one way ticket to the shadow realm, bought stamped and delivered by none other then the jock bro dragon born Wren. The siphonophores seem to be getting along quite nice. Probably wouldn't hurt to try and grab one of those juicy little memories out of their gutty works again. Only this time, Murin isn't the only one reaching for them sweet sweet nugs.
Giant jellyfish with big old boba secrets. Too bad Murin has to wake up from his dream. Back in reality, the boys decide to get a lay of the land and bother Gilford some more. Man, what a rad dude. Searching the ship more reveals the worlds biggest bully and jerk, Wren. Man, what a totally unrad dude.
In this episode our boys finally make their way to the mysterious yurt, and what do they find? A sassy slithering all-seer snake man who tells them that they're future is in his glowing crystal. Murin takes a ride not once but twice through crystal funky town and is rewarded with the visage of an unknown dog. With their new found knowledge in hand, they finally, FINALLY, make their way to the boat and meet up with Wallace. On the boat they find a couple familiar and many more unfamiliar faces. Murin gets a little too cozy with the endless amenities the boat has to offer and may or may not be a little tipsy. No worries, I'm sure the nice bar game in the corner will help ease their minds for the time being. Or maybe...
Murin and Ocker find themselves aided by a mysterious young woman who finds it very difficult to divulge any kid of useful information. Thank goodness for parasols and mysterious women, always lending a helping hand. But who is this person? Is she Liddie? Is she someone else? Friend? Foe? Rad and Ready to fight? With the octopus monster defeated, now comes the more pressing matter of finding a method of escape. They must head back to the shipyard before Wallace decides to make like Enya and sail away.
What's that on the horizon, a city in view? No more dank dark caves filled with murderous beasts? Welcome to the town of Angelwood Port. A quaint quiet sea side town filled with open market commotions, a failing but well meaning magician, orc sisters, candy addicts, apathetic port attendants and more. At the least Murin and Ocker can finally get some rest and steal a room.
Murin and Ocker finally have the caves to themselves and enjoy some time together. But just like momma used to say, all good things must pass and always look out for werewolves. Through the winding cave system they go looking for the exit to that shortcut until they happen upon a very, very heavily secured and sturdy looking door. Let's find out what's inside!

ANA IS HERE!!! Joe sits down with Broadway's goofiest Princess to talk about The Bachelor, Nerds The Musical, wine, and all things Frozen. This one was REALLY cool as it was our first truly backstage interview bringing backstage at the St. James Theater in the star dressing room with Frozen's star. With Dan still in DC, Joe was on his own and, true to form, almost blew the entire interview with tech issues. The mics almost didn't work. SHOCKER. We are so grateful to Patti for taking time out of her day to let us pick her brain about what she will miss most about Frozen, what Caissie Levy means to her, and how she wants ALL the dogs....

Matthias joins me today to talk about DocMorris' approach to customer service, the challenges of delivering a great customer experience over the phone and via email and why they have opted to go down a high-touch, high cost route when the industry wide trend is to try and reduce the cost to serve and increase levels of self service.
Max talks about his wrestling career, Life in Iowa City, and his language Chenglish.
A Sport of Emotional ExpressionIn this episode Ben Askren and Matt Dernlan breakdown the Oklahoma State vs Iowa dual. Oklahoma State’s Gallagher-Iba Arena was packed with over 13,000 fans in attendance. They watched their Cowboy’s secure a 15-0 regular season record defeating Iowa 27-12. Askren doesn’t know if he’s ever witnessed Gallagher-Iba Arena that loud. Dernlan and Askren also appreciated the energy and display of emotion in John Smith. Coach Smith has been a part of Oklahoma State’s program, and this rivalry, his entire career. To see him overwhelmed with pure joy was something special. Spencer Lee vs Nick Piccininni (4:00)Piccininni escaped in the second period then locked up a cradle to pin the defending NCAA champion, Lee, who hadn’t been pinned since 2009. Dernlan talks about how difficult it is for anyone to replicate a dominant freshman season their sophomore year. Your sophomore season, everyone has already studied all the details and tendencies in your game. On record, Lee is having a better season this year so far but the pair agree his competition has shown better performances against him. Askren says even with Lee’s opponents in the know of how he comes out the gate, with high energy and how good he is off bottom, they don’t realize his strength until they’re faced with it. Overall, the rest of the 125 lbs weight class is not allowing Lee to get the early takedown or take it easy when they’re on bottom. Dernlan refers to this another level of desperation.Adjustments Don’t Happen Overnight (12:45)Askren talks about how hard adjustments are to make especially if you’re used to doing something really well for so long. Dernlan has a feeling that Lee mostly needs to sort out his mental game and the physical part will come along.Austin DeSanto vs Daton Fix (14:56)No. 2 Fix got the 2-0 win over No. 3 DeSanto. Askren and Dernlan agree Fix secured the takedown at the end of the 2nd period. They’re not sure how the ref missed it but they can sympathize with the unenviable position the ref was in. In front of 13,00+ screaming fans and two head coaches in your ear, this ref did a good job overall. Fix was able to hold DeSanto double laced the entire 3rd period. Askren and Dernlan agree that after about 10-15 seconds it should be stalemated in that situation.Max Murin vs Kaid Brock (21:03)Brock got the close win 6-8 over Murin. Brock seemed more dominant than the score entailed. Dernlan talks about how great of a start to the dual this was for Oklahoma State with three straight wins.Pat Lugo vs Kaden Gfeller (21:59)Lugo got the decision win over Gfeller 7-4. Askren’s take is that Gfeller isn’t looking great recently more than Lugo is looking better. Stylistically, it was a fun matchup with Lugo being more fundamental and Gfeller having more funk. Dernlan thinks it was a matter of Lugo being able to impose his style and not allow openings for Gfeller.Chandler Rogers vs Mitch Bowman (28:00)Rogers pinned Bowman at 174 lbs. Dernlan thinks it’s possible the Oklahoma State coaching staff, when deciding whether to put Rogers or Jacobe Smith at 174, thought Rogers had a better chance at getting bonus points. Askren likes Jacobe at 184 and thinks he’s just as good as he is at 174. It will be interesting to see Coach Smith talk after the season what the strategy was heading into the postseason with his lineup.Missouri vs Iowa State (33:00)Missouri beat Iowa State 23-15. A key match that stood out to Askren was John Erneste and Austin Gomez. Erneste won by tech-fall 22-6. No matter what Gomez did he kept getting put on his back. Gomez has beaten DeSanto, Roman Bravo-Young and looked good against Daton Fix this year, but he really struggled against Erneste.Joey McKenna vs Yianni Diakomihalis (41:05)Yianni secured his undefeated record with a 7-5 win over McKenna. Dernlan says Yianni was more dominant than the score showed and he really controlled the match. Askren still thinks No. 3 McKenna will beat out No. 2 Nick Lee if faced against him in the NCAA Tournament. What the Future Holds (43:57)Wrapping up the podcast, Askren and Dernlan discuss what the upcoming podcast schedule looks like. There is a lot happening even with the break before NCAA conference championships. Askren’s debut UFC fight will take place at UFC 235 March 2nd. Also, Kyle Snyder and Sarah Hildebrandt will head to Ruse, Bulgaria to compete in their 2nd ranking series at the Dan Kolov-Nikola Petrov International.

Patti Murin is an accomplished stage and television actress. Known for her acclaimed Broadway performances, Murin currently stars as ‘Anna’ in the Broadway production of Disney’s "Frozen." With lyrics written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Frozen is the timeless tale of a fearless princess who sets off on a journey alongside a rugged iceman, his loyal pet reindeer, and a naive snowman to find her estranged sister. Murin made her Broadway debut in 2007’s "Xanadu," in which she played the roles of Euterpe, Siren, and Thetis. Based on the film of the same name, "Xanadu" centers on a Greek muse who is sent to Earth to inspire Californians during the 1980s. Four years later, Murin played the lead of ‘Lysistrata Jones’ in 2011’s "Lysistrata Jones," a modern day adaptation of Aristophanes’ "Lysistrata." Soon after, Patti starred as ‘Glinda’ in the national tour of Broadway’s renowned play "Wicked." In addition to her performances on Broadway, Patti Murin has also starred in a wide range of off-Broadway theatrical productions. Most recently, Murin starred as ‘Linda Mason’ in "The Muny’s Holiday Inn" and Susie in "Lady, Be Good." At The Muny, she has also starred as ‘Roxie Hart’ in "Chicago" and ‘Ariel’ in "The Little Mermaid." In New York, Murin starred as ‘Princess’ in The Public Theater’s production of "Love’s Labour’s Lost." She also played the role of ‘Amber’ in The Cape Playhouse’s production of "Hairspray" and ‘Sharpay Evans’ in The Atlanta Theater of the Stars’ production of "High School Musical." Other theater credits include "Fly By Night," Jane Austen’s "Emma," "Band Geeks," "Give It Up!," "White Noise," "Princesses," "Glimpses of the Moon," "Beauty and the Beast," "Annie Get Your Gun," and "Crazy for You." On the small screen, Murin has starred as recurring character ‘Dr. Nina Shore’ in NBC’s “Chicago Med,” a medical drama set in the ER department of Chicago’s Gaffney Medical Center. She has also starred as ‘Ana’ in USA’s “Royal Pains.” Additionally, Patti Murin played the recurring role of ‘Ellen’ on ABC’s “All My Children.” Murin has also sung the national anthem at numerous sporting events, including a New York Mets game, Philadelphia Soul Football, and an event at Syracuse University. Patti Murin currently resides in New York City.
Literally, PATTI MURIN is Broadway royalty. She is playing the princess Anna in Disney's Frozen. Prior to that, she appeared on Broadway in Lysistrata Jones, Xanadu as well as the tour of Wicked. She won praise and the heart of now-husband Colin Donnell in the Shakespeare in the Park production of Love's Labour's Lost. The acting couple have adorable pups Petey and Milo, who are the stars of popular Instagram account. Despite her handsome partner, perfect pets and dream job, Murin has been candid about the parts of her life that are less than ideal. What makes this Great White Way favorite truly admirable is her breezy honesty which tends to make others less alone. Murin stopped by Show People with Paul Wontorek to discuss her frankness on social media, the developing musical she and Donnell want to star in and much more.
