“You can sort of imagine the way it breaks down - Harrison is obviously going to run on this platform of Martin Van Buren as a snob, as an elite, as someone who has fiddled while the nation has burned economically - and he is going to portray himself as a war hero and a simple man of the frontier. Which is not really what he is but that sort is the persona he is going to keep pushing forward" Tour Guide Tell All digs into the tumultuous election of 1840, where a financial crisis, new forms of campaigning, and two interesting candidates led to a blow-out election followed by an unprecedented presidency. Musician & producer Billy Wild shares the fascinating story behind 'Uninvited Guests' & his 8-year journey to sample Glenn Gould's music for a rap/R&B album. On this week’s podcast is a conversation Mike has been saving for a couple months and looking forward to sharing. That’s because once Mike had this conversation with musician and producer Billy Wild, he knew he wanted to write about this project, called Uninvited Guests, and its backstory for the magazine, which he did for the new January/February issue of Canadian Musician. For the album Uninvited Guests, Billy and other producers, rappers, and singers from his Toronto-based Division 88 collective dared to chop up some of Glenn Gould’s most iconic recordings and use them in hip-hop and R&B productions. Now, would Glenn Gould love or loath Uninvited Guests? Billy doesn’t know if the late, iconic Canadian pianist would love the music, but he’s sure Gould would love that the album exists. He also knows that Gould’s fans hate him, which he accepts with some bewilderment and amusement. But the making of this album, and just getting the rights to Gould’s music, was an eight-year journey that involved dealing with the Gould Estate, a major label, a change of publishers, and more. It’s a fascinating story and Billy is a fun storyteller.

How hitting rock bottom can actually be the BEST thing for you! Welcome to the Shining Souls podcast! In this episode, I share my 2 most recent rock bottom experiences. The first in January/February 2019 when I had to have not one but two discectomy's. When the universe wants you to learn a lesson, it's best to pay attention and learn it as early as possible. But what happens when we ignore the lessons? What happens when you ignore your calling/passion or direction from the divine? Rock bottom...that is what can happen. My second rock bottom happened late 2020/early 2021. Ignoring my soul's calling and settling for a shadow career. It was like a slap in the face. Imagine my surprise when as soon as I acknowledged the lesson, things got better and keep getting better and better. The best is truly yet to come! I said, ‘Yes.’ And she said, ‘We have a position on our board that you can fill.’ I left that first meeting part of the United Methodist Women’s leadership team.” Jackson has also served on district leadership teams and started several young women’s circles.- - -This episode originally appeared in the January/February 2021 issue of response, the award winning magazine from United Methodist Women.Visit www.UnitedMethodistWomen.org to find out more.

Everyone can make predictions. But not everyone can make BOLD predictions. That's what Will Brinson, Ryan Wilson and John Breech are here to do on this episode. The Pick Six Superfriends make some moderately unexpected and some borderline outlandish predictions for the Wild Card games this weekend (5:45) as well as the postseason as a whole (33:00). What is the most likely underdog to prevail on Saturday or Sunday? Is it the team with no nickname, the Bears, the Colts, or someone else? As we progress through the pod, let's just say there's a heavy emphasis on older QBs achieving a lot this January/February. An odd racial pecking order puts Indian Americans in a curious place -- outside of whiteness, but distinct from other people of color. How’d that come to be? And is it changing? We explore these questions by revisiting a story from Arun Venugopal, senior reporter with WNYC’s Race & Justice Unit, about how a Kansan community grappled with one of the first widely reported hate crimes following the 2016 election. Then he joins us to check in on that community today and walk through the history of the “model minority” myth -- and how perceptions may or may not be about to change, yet again. Most recently, Venugopal penned “The Truth Behind Indian American Exceptionalism” for the January/February 2021 issue of The Atlantic. COMPANION LISTENING: “White Like Me” (10/20/2016) A history of what it means -- and has meant -- to be white in the United States of America, and what that meant for the 2016 election. “A Secret Meeting in South Bend” (6/18/2020) How a group of Black families in the mid 20th Century carved out a neighborhood for themselves, and tried to make their American Dreams real, despite the terrorism of Jim Crow. “The United States of Anxiety” airs live on Sunday evenings at 6pm ET. In response to growing concerns about PTSD and suicide among firefighters, the University of Illinois Fire Service Institute created the First Responder Resiliency Program in 2016. The goal is to prepare firefighters for the mental health challenges they face on the job, and to educate them on healthy ways to recover and grow, including asking for help when needed. At least 10,000 first responders have gone through the training, which has expanded over the years to include a four-hour course offered for free across the state. In this episode, Robby talks to the program leaders to learn how it works, the impact it’s had, and tips for firefighters and agencies looking to break the stigma attached to mental health issues in the fire service. Diagnosis is arguably the most important job of a physician. But what does it actually mean to make a diagnosis? In this episode, we’ll explore this question by tracking the development of the “classical” model of diagnosis and pathological anatomy and discussing three cases over three hundred years. Along the way, we’ll ponder the concept of the lesion, iatromechanistic theories of the human machine, the birth of the International Classification of Diseases, and the rise and decline of the autopsy. The Maharashtra government has asked the authorities to ensure there is no complacency in testing and said labs should be functional in every district and municipal corporation limits. A circular from the government's health services directorate dated November 11 said a second wave of the pandemic is likely in January-February based on what is happening in Europe. If we talk of the national capital, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has pointed at pollution as a reason for the spike and hoped to control its spread in the next 7-10 days. The number of Covid-19 deaths in Delhi rose by a record high on Thursday to 104 as the city also reported the greatest number of infections (7,053) in India. Listen to the podcast for more

Plumbing a problem for developers in Germany, where old pipe systems can make renovating any structure a challenge. Holo-Light’s Florian Haspinger wants to help with problems like this using XR technologies, to enable an XR economy. Alan: Good morning, everyone, it's Alan Smithson here, the host of the XR for Business podcast. And today we have a very special guest, Florian Haspinger, CEO and one of the founders of Holo-Light. And today we're going to be learning how Holo-Light is redefining engineering across automotive, manufacturing, chemical, and myriad other industries using XR technologies. So with that, thank you and welcome to the XR for Business podcast. Florian, how are you, my friend? Florian: Hi, Alan. Thanks, I'm fine. It's a pleasure to be here and thank you very much for having me. Alan: It's so great to have you on the show. And I'm really excited. But for people who don't know, why don't you just kind of tell us a little bit about what is Holo-Light and how did you get into it? Florian: Sure, of course. Let me take a bit of time and I will tell you how things started. We have a few stories back in the beginning of everything. This would explain a little bit better how the story would end up. So good stories should start with something like "Once upon a time, there was a big economy and The Problem," and so on. Or "It was a cold, dark winter night in the mountains back in 2015, snow was falling down and you saw the light of the lantern outside flickering inside an old house." But honestly, that's not how it started. Alan: [laughs] I was all-- you had me on the edge of my seat! "Once upon a time, it's snowing." I could picture it! Florian: [laughs] Alan: [laughs] Alright, so carry on. Florian: We were really frustrated students. We studied theoretical physics in Tyrol. And as a theoretical study -- especially on physics -- also, the study is extremely theoretical. And also the funder. And we sat together in my old child's room. So it was a 2015, around in the beginning. And we were overthinking our life decisions. And just to notice, we were just 24 years old and we thought about how we can invest our lifetime in something, something makes a difference in the world outside. There we thought about how can we make things easier or better in matters of industry and engineering, because also our background was a little bit in engineering. And later and after some silence and after a few questions, Alex [Werlberger] -- our CTO -- came up with the idea to think about augmented and virtual reality. And then we started to talk about how this kind of technology would be able to drive digitization, revolutionize industries, and change the way we consume content in the future. Alan: What was that, to put a timeframe on this? Florian: It was in January-February 2015. To be honest, it was really a little bit snowy out there. Alan: So here you are in the beautiful mountains of Tyrol, probably doing some skiing. Snow's glistening, your CTO says "Aha! I think it's going to be XR!" Then what? Florian: [chuckles] Exactly. And after this, this brilliant thought about AR and VR we just said, "Okay, yes, let's do it." And we founded a company in April 2015. And after founding the company we sat together and said, "Okay, now we have a company. But what about the business idea and the business model?" So first we had the idea to drive digitization with XR, then we founded the company, and then afterwards we had to build up the business model. So it was a little bit funny in the beginning. But in-- I remember it was later 2015 when we were able to get t

Scott Phillips current drummer of the band Alter Bridge, set to drop Walk the Sky 2.0 November 6th 2020. Since the band announced the cancellation of their entire 2020 touring schedule, Alter Bridge has taken time to do what they are known best for – creating. Never a band to take a lot of personal time off, the band reviewed live recordings from their shows in January/February 2020 to pick a few of their live favorites of songs from their latest album Walk The Sky. This led bandmembers Myles Kennedy, Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips to begin sharing ideas for a new studio song. Those collective ideas would yield a new, original song entitled “Last Rites” – a track written, recorded and completed entirely during the Covid-19 lockdown. The final version of “Last Rites”, along with live versions of “Wouldn’t You Rather,” “Pay No Mind,” “Native Son,” “Godspeed,” “In the Deep” and “Dying Light”, will form the new 7-song EP, Walk The Sky 2.0.

Two co-founders of Vertical Bridge, Alex Gellman and Bernard Borghei, join the podcast to discuss the pandemic’s impact on telecommunications infrastructure and on their company, which owns and manages 288,000 sites nationwide, including wireless and broadcast towers, rooftops, land parcels and billboards. A privately held company based in Boca Raton, Florida, and the focus of Middle Market Growth‘s January/February 2020 cover story, Vertical Bridge was founded in 2014, although Gellman and Borghei have been active in the space for much longer. They talk about the evolving state of wireless communications, recent M&A activity, threats posed by the “digital divide,” and opportunities for private capital to participate in the industry’s growth. The company also recently became carbon neutral, the first tower company to do so. Gellman and Borghei talk about how Vertical Bridge achieved that distinction, its philosophy around corporate citizenship, and its charitable giving through the Vertical Bridge Charitable Network. That would mean that manufacturing and distribution can get their supply chains in order to mass-produce the vaccine. And if that vaccine actually works and is effective and everything is hunky-dory, there will be at best - 20,000,000 doses available by January 1, 2021. This is VERY UNLIKELY.I must be clear - there is ZERO supporting news or evidence that we will have a working vaccine by the end of this month. That is likely a lie. It's much more likely that the best-case scenario is a working scalable vaccine by 2021 January February.“I do think once you get into, say, December or January, the chances are that at least two or three will [seek approval] — if the effectiveness is there,” Gates told CNBC via video conference last week.“In that case, during 2021, the pandemic is going down, and in 2022, the global pandemic comes to an end,” he told Intelligencer.Currently, there are more than 170 vaccines being developed worldwide, with at least 31 in clinical trials, according to the World Health Organization. Gates told reporters that Pfizer’s vaccine is the only one that could theoretically get an emergency use license by the end of October.JNJ currently running a 60,000 person trial for their vaccine. At best this would mean that if everything fell in line there would be enough for the majority of the population by September-December 2021. And this is the best-case scenario outlined by the gates foundation.Source🔌💡Solar vs. Oil🛢️🔋Solar ETF vs XLE 📈📉Pensions and Hedge Funds running into Solar to tell clients they’re diversified in energy instead of owning oil...
