The 1970s were a tough decade for the New York Jets. After winning the Super Bowl in 1969, they quickly became the laughing stock in the NFL, unable to post a single winning season throughout the decade. But in 1981, four promising young defensive lineman changed everything. Mark Gastineau, Adbul Salaam, Marty Lyons and Joe Klecko became such a prolific force on the Jets defense that they earned the moniker ‘The New York Sack Exchange'. These players are the subject of the newest ESPN 30 for 30 Film 'The New York Sack Exchange' which debuted last Friday, and is available right now on ESPN +. Today Rich Cimini, a Jets beat reporter for ESPN, and a lifelong Long Islander, gives host David Dennis Jr. the inside scoop on the New York Sack Exchange. He describes the interpersonal tension that brewed alongside their incredible success on the field, and explores a legacy that persists to this day. Learn more about your ad choices. The last episode of Hard Knocks felt like a propaganda-filled “thanks for doing this” from HBO to the Giants. The Jets did call the Giants to try and trade up to 6. Who did the Jets want at 6? Probably Malik Nabers or Rome Odunze. Everyone around here deserves a building better than MetLife Stadium. How about a new MSG with a sphere top over the West Side Highway? The Giants have a game-changer at WR for the first time in years. Phil Simms blames Joe Klecko for his bad knees. There are too many busts in the NFL Draft for teams to applaud after every pick. We rewatch the Jets first phone call to Zach Wilson when they drafted him. Jerry is back for an update but first we discuss famous male gymnasts in Team USA's history. Shaun Morash did not take the news of Gerrit Cole being scratched very well. Rickie Ricardo almost slipped up saying Jazz Chisholm's name. Rickie told Suzyn Waldman about his idea to gift Emmanuel Berbari a facial for his birthday. In the final segment of the hour, Gio had a teachable moment yesterday with his daughter and a dying bird. Where did the word “jism” originate?
Hour 1 Both Brian Cashman and David Stearns made small improvements on deadline day without giving much up and Gio completely supports what the GMs did. Gio expects the Yankees to win the AL East and the Mets to be the NL's top Wild Card. Gerrit Cole was scratched with “general body fatigue” but was it really a stomach virus? Jazz Chisholm Jr. continued his hot start with two more homers for the Yankees last night. Could Mark Leiter Jr. take over the closer's role from Clay Holmes, who blew another one last night? Jerry is here for his first update and begins with the Yankees win. Boomer thinks Rickie Ricardo's call of Jazz Chisholm's home run was a little much but loves the energy. Boomer says Jazz Chisholm looks like the greatest ever trade deadline addition for the Yankees. Saying “Jazz Chisholm” tripped up Justin Shackil and Chris McMonigle broke down the dilemma for broadcasters. The Mets shutout the Twins. Robert Saleh said he doesn't plan to play Aaron Rodgers in the preseason but left the door open for the final game. Sal Licata had some dots connected for him. Boomer got his guy as Precious Achiuwa is back with the Knicks. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer and Gio discuss the report that the Yankees backed out of a deal for Jack Flaherty due to injury concerns. Gio does not blame Cashman for walking away from that deal. Hour 2 The last episode of Hard Knocks felt like a propaganda-filled “thanks for doing this” from HBO to the Giants. Where did the word “jism” originate? Hour 3 As we get set to turn the calendar to August, Boomer and Gio look at the Giants and Jets odds within their divisions and conferences this season. Vegas doesn't think much of the Giants chances. Then they go through what hyped up teams and QBs they believe in. Things have worked out for Jared Goff in Detroit. Jerry returns for an update but first he tells us about Joe B and JJ backing out of today's golf date with Jerry and CLo. Boomer and Gio have heard stories they can't believe about JJ's golf game. The Mets had a practical approach at the trade deadline and then beat the Twins 2-0. Jazz Chisholm led the Yankees to their fourth straight win and second over the Phillies. Chisholm loves being a Yankee. What will Aaron Boone's nickname for Chisholm be? Rickie Ricardo was fired up by some stellar, game-saving defensive plays. It doesn't sound like Zach Wilson is off to a hot start in Denver. Could this be the year it all goes south for the Cowboys? In the final segment of the hour, Gio asks if any Olympic sports could get a big bump from this summer's games. He and Boomer discuss the popularity of the Olympics. Hour 4 The guys do more Olympics talk and figure out what events they will watch. There was a movie made by Olympians in the 80s. Audiences loved it but critics did not. A caller thinks the Jets will stink because of their offensive line. Boomer explains part of the difficulty with offensive line play. He still thinks Davante Adams will be traded to the Jets. The AFC West has two awful teams. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and begins with Jazz Chisholm's big night powering the Yankees to a win in Philly. The Mets are about to embark on a crazy road trip. The Moment of The Day involves isolated and manipulated audio. In the final segment of the day, Gio brings up an idea Zoo had off air that he found crazy. What Olympic events could we compete in given 10 years to train?

Hour 1: The studio smells like feet and Max Scherzer returned to Citi Field last night. Scherzer was awful in big spots for the Mets. He received a video tribute and was booed by the crowd. Edwin Diaz wants to return this season. Is that a smart idea? Luis Severino looked really good last night. Jerry is kind of over Hard Knocks because One Jets Drive has been so good. Boomer figured out why the Jets don't want to show players being cut. It has to do with Joe Douglas's past. Peter Schwartz is in for Jerry today and has a gift for Boomer after Boomer updates us on the MSG vote. Corey Davis didn't retire, he just stepped away. Peter has audio from last night's episode of One Jets Drive. Is Dak Prescott annoyed that the Cowboys traded for Trey Lance? The Cardinals are openly tanking. The Yankees beat the Tigers and the Mets blew it in the 9th. Fans ran onto the field and made contact with Ronald Acuna. In the final segment of the hour, Jerry asks Boomer how to rectify a tipping snafu. What do you tip and when? Hour 2: Boomer shares the player perspective of cutdown day in the NFL. Peter returns for his final update but first we hear from some very excited Giants fans. The Jets are moving forward without Corey Davis but leaving the door open for his return. How awful will the Cardinals be? Looking at season totals, the Giants number is low considering what they did last year. The David Alliance TDAgiantslayer@Gmail.com MingleMateMarry.com podcast youtube and website for the perfect marriage material and swag. They got a great hoodie called its a great day to be married… after today maybe some of you will want to wear purchase it… because many of you are not loving the days you are married… Joe Klecko who was just recently inducted into the football hall of fame… he was elected into the pro bowl playing 3 different positions… never been done before or since… but in his hall of fame speech he said my son Dan has won 3 Super Bowl rings, he reminds me all the time… he's a great player… and then he looks at his bust next to him on stage and says “hey Dan, lets see if you can get one of those. Every year I watch the NFL HOF inductees and listen to their speeches… and everyone, I mean EVERY ONE, talks about hard work, dedication, team work… but the one thing they all say it hangs on is…. Well you do want to know right? I mean if we can tap into what makes the greatest of the greatest athletes… and we can translate it into our lives be it family, business, health, finances whatever… ok, all these things are great but they all hinge on personal responsibility - taking credit for your mistakes and your wins. Being willing to own up and work on your flaws, your blond spots, your weaknesses…. Mines a great psychiatrist. Thomas says there's no such thing as mental illness. They were merely varying degrees of irresponsibility, and John Tim Maloy is booklet for success to the one big difference between winners and losers and he said that's not mince words - losers Never accept responsibility and winners always. Your study of negative emotions we found it almost all anger or frustration or hostility, comes from the attempt to blame others for problems in our lives rather than excepting responsibility. In fact, if you stop blaming other people you'll find that most of your negative emotions will go away if you stop blaming your past and stop blaming your present. Stop blaming your parents and your boss and your relationships. You'll find that it's almost impossible to become angry. the way you stop blaming is by taking responsibility. But here is the key to understanding taking responsibility. Its uncomfortable… look its easier to blame others. Its easier to tell the world it must change in order for your life to be better… but its just not the case. Taking responsibility is simply choosing to be uncomfortable through the stages of learning, applying and working at life. Simply said “its got to be uncomfortable to be great”. If you are not willing to take responsibility, you are unwilling to be great. Rom. 5:3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. v. 3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that we can blame others and gripe about how life is unfair knowing God will make things easier for us… uh NO! The word there “develop” in the greek actually means to work out through labor. This is so easy to understand it hurts to listen to stupid people when they say life not fair. TRUE life is not fair for anyone… but many still choose to work out through labor, to persevere, take responsibility and move forward. Let me be frank - now is the time to succeed regardless your age… but especially if you are under 40, because those under 40 are rife with excuses and pandering to their woes and foibles… they will give up, whine, blame… all the while those who are willing to take responsibility will advance step by step moving closer and closer to success in most areas of there life. Persevere, pursue, own up to it and keep pushing forward.

The Jets played in the Hall of Fame game and Boomer was happy to see Joe Klecko have his well-deserved moment. Jerry was in Texas last week and got to witness first-hand how big the Justin Verlander news was in Houston. He was also surprised how much more attention baseball was getting down there compared to football. Training camp isn't what it used to be. Mekhi Becton barely played Thursday but that's ok. Anthony Rizzo didn't say anything about his concussion symptoms. Is it fair to blame the Yankees for not noticing something was wrong? Boomer has a more optimistic overall view of the Yankees. They've dealt with a ton of injuries but are still somehow over .500. C-Lo is in for Jerry and Boomer reiterates how incredible it is that the Yankees have won as many games as they have this season despite so many injuries. A lot happened in yesterday's Yankees loss to the Astros and Jerry said fans in Houston aren't afraid of the Yankees. In fact, they mock them. Giancarlo Stanton had an embarrassing play on Saturday when he didn't run heading to the plate from 3rd base. Carlos Rodon was awful and is hurt again. Harrison Bader isn't concerned about the team at all. The Mets haven't won since the trade deadline. Jose Ramirez knocked Tim Anderson down in a brawl. In the final segment of the hour, Jerry shares a story of meeting a fan of the show in Houston. Stugotz left Boomer a note volunteering to fill in whenever Gio is out…but what about Jerry? Jerry reviews the ballparks in Houston and Arlington. Hour 2: Jerry wonders how many of the highest-paid pitchers in baseball are actually earning their money. Boomer has a problem with how Max Scherzer pitched but even more with how he acted. Boomer runs through the Mets issues and says losing Edwin Diaz was more impactful than anyone realized at the time. He was the “soul” of the Mets. C-Lo returns for an update and the guys detail their recent injuries. John Sterling couldn't believe the game Jake Meyers had for the Astros on Sunday. Has Giancarlo Stanton been worth what the Yankees are paying him? Aaron Boone defended Stanton not running on Saturday. Whether it's Stanton or Luis Rojas, someone messed up on that play. New Yankee reliever Kenyan Middleton torched his old White Sox team and their lack of rules. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer and Jerry discuss 50,000 Eagles fans showing up to watch a training camp practice. Carson Wentz is still unsigned. It's been some fall for him since being the frontrunner for the MVP. Jalen Hurts and Daniel Jones both cashed in big time after proving themselves last year. Hour 3: Boomer has some fun at Jerry and Eddie's expense for not being in football mode. There has been a lot of turnover in the coaching ranks this offseason, especially at the coordinator spots. Jerry thinks Patrick Mahomes is underpaid. When will Joe Burrow get his extension? A caller says now that Boomer has allowed Stugotz into his life, he will never leave Boomer alone. The relationship with teammates is more important, just like with radio shows. Darrelle Revis had a message for the Jets fans who turned on him and burned his jersey when he signed with the Patriots. Suzyn doesn't know what something being “lit” means. Getting out of parking lots after concerts is a disaster. Richard in Manhattan called Moose and didn't let Moose get a word in. The guys comment on CLo's SNY colleagues and CLo shares a crazy story related to Blue Jays rookie Davis Schneider. Radical realignment has hit college sports again. How will it impact Jerry traveling with Rutgers? In the final segment of the hour, Jerry looks back on some of baseball's best brawls after Jose Ramirez and Tim Anderson faced off. Boomer remembers some of the fights he got into on the field. Hour 4: Jerry asks Boomer, who has a more positive outlook on the Yankees than most, if the team has enough to make a real run this year? Boomer applauds the Yankees for being over .500 but wonders if the latest injury to Carlos Rodon might be too much to overcome. It's a miracle they are over .500 but are in a tough spot moving forward. Jerry wonders if the Mets, despite all of their problems, have a clearer path in the future than the Yankees. Boomer worries about the Yankees pitchers staying healthy and what the Mets nucleus will look like. Is Jeff McNeil a problem? Jerry sees a clearer path for the Mets because of their core and farm system. Boomer would send Brett Baty back down to triple-A for his own good. Boomer would also hire a “hard-ass” manager. Which Yankees players are part of their core? Has Gleyber been their most consistent hitter this season? Boomer thinks there's a toxicity surrounding the Mets and possibly the Yankees too. C-Lo returns for his final update of the day but first, the guys wonder if rebuilding in New York works. Jerry makes Boomer listen to Aaron Boone praise Yankees at bat quality. Dan Campbell is pumped for the season to start. Micah Parsons has lofty goals. In the final segment of the day, a caller explains how he got Joe and Fireman Ed together on the golf course. Jerry wants Boomer to golf with Joe.
Hour 3: Boomer has some fun at Jerry and Eddie's expense for not being in football mode. There has been a lot of turnover in the coaching ranks this offseason, especially at the coordinator spots. C-Lo is in for Jerry and starts with the Yankees loss to the Rays and the armpit injury that Domingo German was suffering from which prevented him from starting. He did, however, come into the game in relief of Jhony Brito who gave up 4 HRs in 4 innings. The Mets traded Mark Canha to the Brewers. At Jets camp, one of the players has ‘69' jokes. Yesterday Anthony Gallo called Aaron Rodgers a ‘bum' and it got a lot of play on social media. Joe said the Jets can absolutely not lose in week 1 at home to the Bills. In the final segment of the hour, we took a call from a guy who missed the Jets season because he was in prison. Hour 2: The Yankees are going through a tough time right now. Anthony Rizzo finally got a hit last night after striking out 5 times the night before. We also took calls from Mets fans now that they traded Max Scherzer, David Robertson and Mark Canha. C-Lo returns for an update but first Peter Schwartz posted a pic wearing the Joe Klecko jersey that Boomer got him. Joe is going out to the Hall of Fame induction of Joe Klecko. Joe is also playing golf with Fireman Ed. Aaron Judge keeps getting walked since coming back from his injury. Domingo German was scratched due to an armpit injury but ended up coming in after Jhony Brito. Joe talks about the black cats that he has after a few cat related Yankees stories. Hour 3: Is Rob Saleh the right coach for the Jets? Joe said Mike White is going to burn the Jets at least once this year. When they golfed, Joe told Saleh ‘you have to win now'. We talked about reasonable expectations for the Jets this year. A division title is required by Joe. He also said they have to be 4-2 through their first six games. C-Lo returns for an update but first a caller compares the afternoon show to ‘Two and a Half Men'. The Yankees lost again and are 1-3 since Aaron Judge returned. There are a lot of teams rumored to be in for a Justin Verlander trade. In the final segment of the hour, Stugotz from the Dan Le Batard Show will co-host with Gio on Thursday and Friday. Joe does not know how to ‘Google' something. Joe does not need an iPhone either. His wife likes watching videos about otters on her iPhone. Hour 4: There are multiple teams calling the Mets about Justin Verlander as the trade deadline looms today. Joe said if the Mets do that, they are ‘punting' on next year. Joe also thinks Steve Cohen has to give Ohtani the best offer. A caller wants to know if we saw the guy who wants to be a collie. A caller is having a baby at the end of August and he wants to know if he should be able to go to the Jets/Bills game on September 11th. It is an exciting time for New York Jets fans. Darrelle Revis and Joe Klecko are about to enter the Hall of Fame. This has led the Jets to be chosen for the Hall of Fame Game, the annual preseason opener. The Jets will have four preseason games this year instead of the normal three. We aren't all fans of preseason, but there is reason to believe this extra game could have a small benefit for the Jets to help Aaron Rodgers get more acclimated.Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

On this Tuesday edition of Sid & Friends in the Morning, Sid zeroes in on the topic of congestion pricing in Manhattan and how stupid of an idea the entire thing is. Other than lining the pockets of Governor Kathy Hochul and the MTA, the initiative makes Manhattan exponentially less desirable of a place to commute to than it already is. It could cost some people working in Manhattan over $100 per week just to drive into the city for work, which could prevent a number of those people from making ends meet. In other news of the day, the White House continues to lie right to our faces regarding President Biden's alleged and crooked business dealings with his son Hunter, the Gilgo Beach murders investigation continues to reveal new information regarding the case, and the Department of Justice has sued the state of Texas over border buoys Governor Abbott is refusing to remove from the Rio Grande. Frank Morano, Curtis Sliwa, Bo Dietl, Vito Fossella, Alan Dershowitz, Miranda Devine, Joe Klecko and Bruce Blakeman join the program on this Tuesday installment of New York City's best morning show. Hour 4: Peter Schwartz is in studio. He's wearing his throwback Freeman McNeil jersey. He tries on the new Boomer Jets throwback and it actually fits him. Al puts on Peter's jersey and it fits him like a dress. Jerry returns for an update and has audio from Bill Belichick as he met the media. He was asked about Aaron Rodgers being in the division now. Dalvin Cook was on with Rich Eisen and talked about the RB position being devalued. Mike Francesa said Howard Cosell was not a fan of his. Jameis Winston sings ‘stroke it with your motion'. It's actually a song by the Love Doctor called, ‘Slow Roll It'. Jerry previewed the Subway Series in the Bronx tonight. In the final segment of the show, Boomer got Peter tickets for the Hall of Fame game and a Joe Klecko jersey. We got more products for the Man Bucket. And we got more information on the Gilgo Beach killer.
Hour 1: The Subway Series is happening in the Bronx tonight. It means something for the Yankees but Boomer & Gio both agree that the Mets are completely irrelevant. The Yankees should be buyers at the trade deadline. B&G played golf yesterday and Gio came through with a huge 20 foot putt. One of the people they golfed with had a lot of gas and was letting it rip on the golf course all day. Another golfer was surprised that there's such a thing as a pickle in a bag. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with a preview of tonight's Subway Series. Giancarlo Stanton talked about facing Justin Verlander and needing to take 2 games. Mark Canha talked about playing while rumors swirl about him being traded. Carl Banks said Saquon Barkley should play and help build his brand. OBJ is excited for camp with his new team, the Ravens. Austin Rivers is not a fan of NBA players deciding where they are going to play. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Master P starting a sports agency back in the day and had Ricky Williams as his first client. Yesterday LeBron James tweeted about the Saudis maybe getting involved in basketball. Matt Martin had a funny tweet about Boomer and the Bengals Ring of Honor. Hour 2: The Mets season has been a huge disappointment so far. As we start getting into the Mets, we got breaking news that Saquon Barkley signed a 1-year, $11 million contract with the Giants with a signing bonus of $2 million. This is a bit confusing considering what he turned down from the Giants previously. Boomer wonders what reason he would have to sign that deal instead of taking the Franchise Tag. Boomer said we need to see the whole contract to get the full picture. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Saquon signing details and has sound from Dalvin Cook on with Rich Eisen. Boomer called the Franchise Tag ‘un-American'. Mark Ingram said he would tell kids to play a different position than RB. And a golfer apologized on Twitter for cheating. In the final segment of the hour, Gio tells a story about a woman who loved hiking, who was killed when attacked by a bear. A caller thinks Saquon sold out by taking this deal. He thinks other RBs in the league are going to be angry that he took it. Hour 3: As we await Keith Hernandez's phone call, we recapped the Saquon Barkley news from this morning. He signed a 1-year deal with the Giants for up to $11 million with a $2 million signing bonus. We can't find Keith. We have two landlines for him and a cell phone and none of them are being answered. Jerry returns for an update and starts with details on the new deal between the Giants and Saquon Barkley. Mike Brown, the owner of the Bengals, talked about money for players and used a pig eating corn analogy. Bill Belichick met the media and said, ‘I don't do physicals'. DK Metcalf was on a podcast and talked about all the candy he eats. In the final segment of the hour, Keith Hernandez calls in. He had the ringer off on his phone. In the final segment of the show, Boomer got Peter tickets for the Hall of Fame game and a Joe Klecko jersey. We got more products for the Man Bucket. And we got more information on the Gilgo Beach killer.
Hour 2: Who does Steve Cohen sound like? We compare his voice with John McEnroe & Steve Kerr. Callers give Steve Cohen the benefit of the doubt. However, both Boomer & Gio wanted him to address what is wrong with the team right now considering the amount of money being spent. The programming changes at WFAN are also discussed including who is going to work for the New York embargoing D.A. Jerry's back with the oddity that both John Sterling and Michael Kay were both off on a perfect game night. Both Justin Shackil and Ryan Ruocco lucked out. Of course Rickie Ricardo gave one of his great calls in Spanish. Comments from German as well (through his translator). Josh Donaldson and Giancarlo Stanton provided offense. Steve Cohen backs Buck Showalter for the rest of the season. Also, another Chris Russo malaprop. Darelle Revis explains his beef with Joe Klecko. A couple of NHL notes too. We cap the hour with Gio believing that Boomer wouldn't take his call yesterday. Boomer explains that he “accidentally” depressed the do not disturb feature. Gio explains what happened with sick family, mother-in-law and the golf game.
Hour 1: A spirited review of Steve Cohen's presser about the future of the Mets. It sounded like he's conceding that the season is what it is and it's about next year. It also seems as if he's concentrating on hiring David Stearns as the president of baseball operations. Jerry starts with Domingo German making history as the fourth Yankee pitcher in history to pitch a perfect game. After Steve Cohen's remarks, the Mets go ahead and lose to the Brewers. Adam Ottavino has no answers and it reflects the feeling surrounding the whole team. Jerry also points out an issue with cuts being put into the system that are less than acceptable because they included the non-English quotes along with the translation. Boomer wants to know who it was who did it. Big Zoo hits us with his own explanation, dog. An amusing moment at the NHL Draft as well. The hour concludes with your calls and criticisms about the Mets. A Yankees fan also checks in about being happy about the perfect game but also offers remarks about the negativity in sports talk rather than a focus on the positive. Boomer has further complaints about congestion pricing. We cap the hour with Gio believing that Boomer wouldn't take his call yesterday. Boomer explains that he “accidentally” depressed the do not disturb feature. Gio explains what happened with sick family, mother-in-law and the golf game. Hour 3: Domingo German is Perfect! The NFL have a really difficult path to walk as they continue to figure out how to contain gambling within the league. Boomer thinks the players/staff need to do a better job understanding the rules and being mindful of what they do instead of complaining. Sarah Walsh made some noise with her thoughts on her husband's golf game and golf etiquette. Big Zoo helps break down what the Knicks got cooking this weekend and much more! Hour 4: Yankee fans, enough complaining Domingo German threw a perfect game! Hangover cures. Al is officially sick sick. More on Ryan Mallett's untimely death. The Mets leave Stevie Cohen hanging after the loss to the Brewers. Steve Cohen's pig? Moment of the Day and More - including a caller trying to imagine the dynamic between Sal Licata and Brandon Tierney.

Hour 1: Gio begins the show by reading a review of Peter Schwartz's solo warmup show. Gio wonders if he'll have the next facial deformity on the show and explains how he pushed himself too far yesterday. Gio thinks we're only paying attention to the hapless Mets because there's nothing else going on. Jerry says things just keep going wrong for the Mets. Gio says that is true but the team put themselves in a position where they have no margin for error. It's been the same story for weeks and it doesn't feel like that will change at any point this season. Gio says the Mets are a waste of our time and wonders if everybody else is done with them like he is. Jerry agrees that the Mets are irrelevant. Peter Schwartz is with us today and begins with the Mets 2-1 loss. Buck Showalter says what the Mets need to do is simple: win. Justin Verlander can't believe what has happened to this team. The Yankees were off as they traveled to Oakland. Jerry thinks fans In Baltimore should support the Orioles but Gio understands their lack of faith. The Jets are expecting to be forced to do Hard Knocks this summer. Darrelle Revis had a strange response to a nice comment Joe Klecko made. Peter Schwartz won't wear Revis's jersey to Canton if Revis doesn't apologize! In the final segment of the hour, Gio wonders if the Mets are really stuck with Max Scherzer, Justin Verlander or Francisco Lindor. Gio says Lindor is not a winning player and is not “it”. Jerry does not think dumping Lindor is a good idea and explains what Steve Cohen is trying to do. Hour 2: Gio is surprised Jerry is working July 4th. Al was stuck on the tarmac yesterday and Gio wants to hear the story tomorrow and says that's as bad as it gets. The Jets are “bracing” to be forced to do Hard Knocks and Gio doesn't think it's that bad, so why are the Jets so reluctant to do it? Gio says Aaron Rodgers and the Jets need to embrace the attention. Gio's biggest takeaway from the last few seasons of Hard Knocks was Jared Goff's fiance. Peter returns for an update but first Gio asks about his taste in music and says he shouldn't assume what kind of music people are into. The guys guess the first concert Peter Schwartz went to. Drew Smith hung a meatball and the Mets lost 2-1. Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo tried to figure out the math for the Mets to make the playoffs and it did not go well. Gio tries to get Peter Schwartz into country music. In the final segment of the hour, Peter Schwartz shares the full story of his taxi cab ride gone wrong and 3-1-1 call. Gio and Jerry agree. Chalk it up as a loss, do something fun with your own time and move on. A caller who works for the city and has to investigate these calls to 3-1-1 chimes in. A longtime driver then calls and explains how the city will resolve Peter's complaint. Peter will not take the driver to court and Gio imagines an episode of The People's Court about this. Hour 3: Gio and Jerry want the Knicks to make a big move and wonder if Damian Lillard should be their top target. Would Lillard or another top player want to come to the Knicks? Our old pal Radhames calls in to defend Peter. Radhames lives in Houston now and Jerry is heading to Texas in August. Peter returns for an update but first Gio shares some reactions to his taxi story. Gio wants Peter to become the “sports cowboy”. The Mets lost for the 16th time in their last 21 games. Peter revisits Rex's classic “snack” speech from Hard Knocks in 2010 because they'll probably be back on it later this summer. In the final segment of the hour, Gio asks about the TV show “The Bear” and recalls working with Dov Kramer back in the day. Jerry wonders if it was better to be a high-paid athlete now or a few decades ago? Does Kate Upton pay attention to the Mets? It doesn't even feel like Justin Verlander is a Met. Hour 4: Pete Hoffman's son is in the building today and Gio wonders if Eddie would be able to bring his dog in now that Spike is in charge. Gio thinks most Mets fans are as tired of the team as he is. Gio thinks it's time to start looking ahead to the future. The team should make some changes now while preparing for wholesale changes in the offseason. Jerry asks if there's been any positive moves made by Billy Eppler. Peter returns for an update but first explains how he's hoping for a “Summer of Schwartz”. The Mets lost again. They stink. Buck Showalter said they need to win. Simple enough. Peter digs deep for more stories. In today's Moment of the Day, Peter will have a chance to ruin a cab driver's life. In the final segment of the show, Gio finds out that Jerry has no interest in watching the potential Elon Musk vs Mark Zuckerberg fight. Jerry doubts the fight will draw that many pay-per-view buyers. What are the most memorable fights they've ever watched? Gio loves “Black Mirror”.
