Serving SMB mid-market customers is one thing, but when you go upstream to enterprise sales, everything changes: go-to-market strategy, the sales process, how you structure deals, even how you define customer value. Today's guest, Andrew Casey, has helped scale four SaaS companies: ServiceNow, WalkMe, Lacework, and his current company, Amplitude. As an operationally focused CFO, he shares a wealth of knowledge on the importance of staying close to the customer, structuring deals that work for both sides, establishing transparency in usage-based pricing, aligning incentives and strategy in sales, the pros and cons of multi-year deals, the problem with auto-renewals and what to do instead, and how to adapt your go-to-market strategy when moving from SMB mid-market to enterprise.—SPONSORS:Metronome is real-time billing built for modern software companies. Sitting down with a chef whose work I deeply admire is definitely cause for excitement. Do you find yourself hitting a wall when trying to persuade people to take action or change their behavior? In this episode of The Unlimited Influence, Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind, Dr. David Snyder tackles the common frustrations of failed persuasion attempts and resistance to change. He introduces powerful techniques like the Resistance Removal Protocol and restoring personal autonomy. This episode dives deep into the psychology of influence, offering actionable strategies that could transform your approach to persuasion. Listen in and be ready to unlock the secrets of human influence. Standout Quotes: "You want to learn to influence people from inside, not out." - Dr. David Snyder "The first rule, when it comes to transforming resistance, is you have to give people back their sense that it's okay to say no." - Dr. David Snyder "The rationalization that gets challenged only grows stronger." - Dr. David Snyder "When you force people to defend their beliefs and statements, they automatically become defensive." - Dr. David Snyder "Head-on collisions will never work. You've got to have them generate a reason that they might want to do something and then attack that reason." - Dr. David Snyder "Patience is power." - Dr. David Snyder Key Takeaways: Use the "Resistance Removal" approach. First, acknowledge that the person can refuse. Then, help them develop their reasons for wanting to do something. This allows people feel more in control of their decisions. Practice the "echoing" technique. When unsure what to say, repeat what the other person said. This simple technique builds trust and shows you're listening, making people more open to your ideas. Combine techniques like building emotional connections with the "Resistance Removal" approach. Using multiple strategies together can make your persuasion more effective. Be patient when persuading. Give people time to think about new ideas. Rushing them can make them suspicious and less likely to agree. Remember that changing minds often takes time. Help people find their motivation. Instead of pressuring someone or giving them rules to follow, guide them to discover why they might want to do something. When people find their own reasons, they're more likely to make lasting changes. Episode Timeline: [00:31] How can we influence people through understanding and empathy? [04:42] Why is restoring personal autonomy necessary in removing resistance? [05:13] What's the situation with smokers who don't want to quit and the people pressuring them to do so? In "How to Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind Part 1," Dr. David Snyder talks about techniques for reprogramming the subconscious mind for success, health, wealth, and happiness. Dr. David discusses the importance of improving mental and emotional well-being, the interplay between neurology and emotions, and the role of behavioral influence in achieving one's goals. He also delves into identifying and overcoming limiting beliefs, using NLP and hypnosis for reprogramming, and the significance of body awareness in changing beliefs. Throughout the episode, David emphasizes the importance of state control, self-evaluation, and the use of affirmations to reprogram limiting beliefs and achieve success. Standout Quotes: "Everything human beings do is in response to a feeling. It's either a feeling they want more of, or a feeling they want a whole lot less of." [Dr David Snyder] "You are not the way you are because of what happened to you. You are the way you are because of the way you interpreted everything that happened to you and how you've been relating to those interpretations." [Dr David Snyder] "Your unconscious mind always answers first, usually nonverbally." [Dr David Snyder] "Your unconscious mind will not lie to you. If you pay attention to what happens first, the initial responses are always the most honest responses." [Dr David Snyder] "Comfort zones are wonderful things, but nothing ever grows there. So the first thing I need you to do is to be willing to become uncomfortable." [Dr David Snyder] "What you think is the problem is never the real problem. The root of the problem is like the check engine light on the dashboard." [Dr David Snyder] Key Takeaways: Learn how to spot and change restrictive beliefs by paying attention to thoughts, language, and bodily feelings. Master methods to interact with the unconscious mind to encourage personal development and transformation. Understand that taking steps is critical for achieving goals, not just optimistic thinking. Gain knowledge about how the unconscious and conscious minds work, and how to leverage both to tackle problems. Realize the significance of self-analysis and overcoming personal issues that may be a hindrance. They encouraged continued feedback as they experiment with new content ideas. Adam shares Blue Jays memes anticipating the team's new City Connect uniforms. Discussing Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s Struggles and Potential Solutions Scott and Adam discussed the recent poor performance of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. And the Toronto Blue Jays. They attributed Vladimir's struggles to the pressure and high expectations associated with being a long-term veteran and key player of the team. They suggested that a change of scenery, possibly with a trade to a team like the Philadelphia Phillies, could be beneficial for Vladimir's career. They also considered the idea of bringing in left-handed hitters to balance the lineup and relieve some of the pressure on Vladimir. Assessing Blue Jays Team Strategy and Rebuilding Adam and Scott voiced their concerns about the current state of the Blue Jays team. Adam suggested that the team should undergo a rebuild for a more sustainable future, whereas Scott acknowledged the difficulty of such a decision due to the team's upcoming schedule. Both agreed that an honest assessment of the team's situation was necessary, rather than clinging to false hope. They also discussed the underperformance of the team's offense over the past two seasons and the potential issues with a previous approach of building a stacked line-up through high-profile signings. Adam hinted at further discussions with Danny. Disappointed With Blue Jays Team Strategy Adam and Scott discussed their disappointment with the current state of the Blue Jays team, particularly the front office's moves in the offseason. Scott defended the front office's strategy of allowing rookies to develop and noted that free agency has shifted, but he acknowledged that the team hasn't been able to keep up. They also discussed specific players, including Tay Oscar Hernandez and George Springer, with Adam expressing his belief that the team would be better off with players like Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Pete Alonso. Scott agreed that the team needs to make significant changes, but neither had a clear solution. Analyzing Toronto Blue Jays' Post-All-Star Performance Adam and Scott delved into the Toronto Blue Jays' performance since the 2023 All-Star break, focusing on individual player contributions. They identified several players, including Kakuchi, Dalton Barshow, David Schneider, and Danny Jansen, who have been crucial to the team's success despite George Springer's low win above replacement score. They also highlighted concerns about the team's poor performance and a toxic team culture, suggesting the need for a culture and personnel overhaul. The discussion included the potential contributions of young players, such as David Schneider and Arlva Martinez, and the possibility of acquiring prospects from teams with strong farm systems to strengthen their own. City Connect Jerseys and Blue Jays Discussion Adam and Scott discussed the City Connect Jerseys, with mixed opinions on the designs and anticipation for their reveal. They also debated the future of Kirk, a Toronto Blue Jays catcher, who may reach free agency if his performance continues to decline. The team's recent poor performance and potential rebuild were also topics of discussion, with both expressing loyalty to the team despite their current state. Lastly, they mentioned plans for an interview with Jordan Powell, a knuckleballer with the Blue Jays.

Hour 1: Boomer is back after over a week off and Jerry returns as well after missing last week. A lot has happened since they were last here. The Jets played in the Hall of Fame game and Boomer was happy to see Joe Klecko have his well-deserved moment. Jerry was in Texas last week and got to witness first-hand how big the Justin Verlander news was in Houston. He was also surprised how much more attention baseball was getting down there compared to football. Training camp isn't what it used to be. Mekhi Becton barely played Thursday but that's ok. Anthony Rizzo didn't say anything about his concussion symptoms. Is it fair to blame the Yankees for not noticing something was wrong? Boomer has a more optimistic overall view of the Yankees. They've dealt with a ton of injuries but are still somehow over .500. C-Lo is in for Jerry and Boomer reiterates how incredible it is that the Yankees have won as many games as they have this season despite so many injuries. A lot happened in yesterday's Yankees loss to the Astros and Jerry said fans in Houston aren't afraid of the Yankees. In fact, they mock them. Giancarlo Stanton had an embarrassing play on Saturday when he didn't run heading to the plate from 3rd base. Carlos Rodon was awful and is hurt again. Harrison Bader isn't concerned about the team at all. The Mets haven't won since the trade deadline. Jose Ramirez knocked Tim Anderson down in a brawl. In the final segment of the hour, Jerry shares a story of meeting a fan of the show in Houston. Stugotz left Boomer a note volunteering to fill in whenever Gio is out…but what about Jerry? Jerry reviews the ballparks in Houston and Arlington. Hour 2: Jerry wonders how many of the highest-paid pitchers in baseball are actually earning their money. Boomer has a problem with how Max Scherzer pitched but even more with how he acted. Boomer runs through the Mets issues and says losing Edwin Diaz was more impactful than anyone realized at the time. He was the “soul” of the Mets. C-Lo returns for an update and the guys detail their recent injuries. John Sterling couldn't believe the game Jake Meyers had for the Astros on Sunday. Has Giancarlo Stanton been worth what the Yankees are paying him? Aaron Boone defended Stanton not running on Saturday. Whether it's Stanton or Luis Rojas, someone messed up on that play. New Yankee reliever Kenyan Middleton torched his old White Sox team and their lack of rules. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer and Jerry discuss 50,000 Eagles fans showing up to watch a training camp practice. Carson Wentz is still unsigned. It's been some fall for him since being the frontrunner for the MVP. Jalen Hurts and Daniel Jones both cashed in big time after proving themselves last year. Hour 3: Boomer has some fun at Jerry and Eddie's expense for not being in football mode. There has been a lot of turnover in the coaching ranks this offseason, especially at the coordinator spots. Jerry thinks Patrick Mahomes is underpaid. When will Joe Burrow get his extension? A caller says now that Boomer has allowed Stugotz into his life, he will never leave Boomer alone. C-Lo returns for an update and begins with sound from Saturday's Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Joe Klecko thought the Jets would have won another Super Bowl by now. The relationship with teammates is more important, just like with radio shows. Darrelle Revis had a message for the Jets fans who turned on him and burned his jersey when he signed with the Patriots. Suzyn doesn't know what something being “lit” means. Getting out of parking lots after concerts is a disaster. Richard in Manhattan called Moose and didn't let Moose get a word in. The guys comment on CLo's SNY colleagues and CLo shares a crazy story related to Blue Jays rookie Davis Schneider. Radical realignment has hit college sports again. How will it impact Jerry traveling with Rutgers? In the final segment of the hour, Jerry looks back on some of baseball's best brawls after Jose Ramirez and Tim Anderson faced off. Boomer remembers some of the fights he got into on the field. Hour 4: Jerry asks Boomer, who has a more positive outlook on the Yankees than most, if the team has enough to make a real run this year? Boomer applauds the Yankees for being over .500 but wonders if the latest injury to Carlos Rodon might be too much to overcome. It's a miracle they are over .500 but are in a tough spot moving forward. Jerry wonders if the Mets, despite all of their problems, have a clearer path in the future than the Yankees. Boomer worries about the Yankees pitchers staying healthy and what the Mets nucleus will look like. Is Jeff McNeil a problem? Jerry sees a clearer path for the Mets because of their core and farm system. Boomer would send Brett Baty back down to triple-A for his own good. Boomer would also hire a “hard-ass” manager. Which Yankees players are part of their core? Has Gleyber been their most consistent hitter this season? Boomer thinks there's a toxicity surrounding the Mets and possibly the Yankees too. C-Lo returns for his final update of the day but first, the guys wonder if rebuilding in New York works. Jerry makes Boomer listen to Aaron Boone praise Yankees at bat quality. Dan Campbell is pumped for the season to start. Micah Parsons has lofty goals. In the final segment of the day, a caller explains how he got Joe and Fireman Ed together on the golf course. Jerry wants Boomer to golf with Joe.
