Last year, I started my podcast and welcomed my baby boy earth side." Candice is a mom, podcaster, social marketer and essentialist who loves to engage in interesting conversations with other influencers and entrepreneurs. Her favourite conversations are the ones that take courage to engage in. (Check out her podcast, Create the Ripple Podcast) She has learned the power of saying no, listening to your own heart and speaks openly about subtle abuse as it occurs in relationships - personally and professionally. She's become a voice for listening to your own truth and speaking it clearly, powerfully - at home, at work and in your life. She spends her time living - in a tiny home (250 sq ft), traveling, speaking and sharing candidly with others how to live life after betrayal, to trust themselves, to speak up for themselves and set powerful boundaries. After a narcissistic partner cheated on her with multiple women, left her (and the country!) With over 350 thousand dollars worth of bad debt, Candice was forced to rebuild her life, her credit and her trust in herself. Coming out of this, she encountered her own “Me Too” moment dealing with sexual coercion and harassment in her professional life; saying no resulted in her being the target of gossip that tarnished her reputation. Deeply affected by the gaslighting and the experiences, she adopted a minimalist lifestyle, leaned on her personal network and practiced radical personal forgiveness, acceptance and responsibility. The journey was not without its impact and Candice shares powerfully about dealing with anxiety, depression, shame and learning to let go. When grief rocked her world a little less than 2 years ago, Candice knew it was time to stop her life, hit the pause button and finally do the deep work to heal her heart, self and mindset. Emerging from this place, Candice has begun to embrace her fierce and receptive feminine nature. The journey to be and embrace all the parts of herself has led her to the place to start her wildly successful Create the Ripple Podcast; Trust the Niggle and Tell the Truth - where she features other amazing guests who are not afraid to do the hard work of personal development, listen to their own minds/heart and then speak up and out for those things that matter; to themselves and to make a difference in the world. Candice loves her essentialist lifestyle for the beauty and freedom it offers her. She can never resist the urge to take off her boots to walk barefoot into a clear mountain lake or stream. When she is not connecting or writing, she can be found disappearing into the backcountry trails of Canada with her life-love Mark and losing herself exploring waterfalls and mountain trails. She is a quiet introvert who adores eating clean foods and reading a great book. Welcome to Season 3 Everyone! It's been a minute... and now I'm back in full force to share more, so much more GOLD from the Leadership Speaking Toolbox. I've got a powerful season in store for you and it's going to be all about a brand new obsession of mine: Embodied Leadership SpeakingThe premise of this powerful concept is that: "the more that you can connect inside of yourself, the more you can connect outside of yourself..."This concept is about re-coupling your "head brain" with your "body brain" and thereby becoming "whole", "authentic" and genuinely yourself again. In all of my years of training speakers across the world and of working on myself, I have discovered that this re-embodiment is what makes it possible to truly shine as a speaker. As far as I'm concerned, THIS is the secret sauce!Folks, I am on a mission to go super deep into this topic so that we can all learn more and benefit from the delicious experience of embodied leadership speaking. So! Get ready and get set to fasten your seat belts and begin our journey. This episode leads the way. Vámonos!

An inspirational and motivational episode where Christina interviews her second MBE guest, Alison Edgar. Alison is a sales and marketing powerhouse, she is also a speaker, mentor and bestselling author. Known to many as the ‘entrepreneurs Godmother’ Alison has worked with many start-ups including Dragons Den winners, right up to large corporate companies such as SKY and EasyJet. Alison brings her breadth and depth of knowledge to this episode and talks to Christina about women in business, her unique perspectives on sales and marketing and delves into the importance of mindset and ethics. KEY TAKEAWAYS Alison is an author of two bestselling books. Her first book, The Secret to Success, was based on the top performers and sellers of organisations, which most of the time was and still is women. Only 5% of all books on sales are written by women, even though at least 50% of sales are by women. Women sell differently, they have a unique way of building relationships and emotional intelligence and this is reflected in their performance. Standing out is great but you want to stand out for the right reasons. Alison believes that this can often be the difference between men and women. She doesn’t care about everyone knowing who she is, she is proud to be known for the right things: practical sales, positivity, authenticity and following through. Alison and Christina are both passionate about the concept of intrapreneurship: When you are in a job, working for someone, but you work and believe in the same way as an entrepreneur. A growth mindset is something Alison has always had, it is also something entrepreneurs, top performers and intrapreneurship have in common. It has made her hard to manage in the past simply because she always wanted to improve things and make change. Now, she is passionate about focusing on changing one person into an entrepreneur at a time: this is how you make significant changes in culture. People overcomplicate business. Sell more stuff, spend less money and make a profit. That’s the formula for success. Sales isn’t just a numbers game. Having time management, good data, great questions and effective processes can make an immeasurable difference to success. Sales and marketing are two separate entities. They need to be treated as such. Alison recognises that sometimes she will be asked to be on a panel to ‘tick a box’. But she doesn’t care, she just uses it to her advantage and as an opportunity and knows by the end she will have proved herself. Women have to go up there to show women that we can do just as much and more than men: when we get the opportunity, we have to take it to inspire others to do the same. BEST MOMENTS 01:52 “Every day, all I do is bring my best and give my a-game” 05:22 “It’s great to be a woman in a space that’s not overfilled with women, so first of all that’s a great differentiator” 14:59 “One of the key factors top performers and entrepreneurs have is a growth mindset” 19:49 “Females tend to make stronger leaders because they can get people to work with them, they can get people to be part of that journey” 38:07 “There are not enough female speakers out there, there are not enough diverse speakers out there” VALUABLE RESOURCES Christina Talks Podcast https://www.green-umbrella.biz/the-4ps-of-personal-branding/ ABOUT THE HOST Christina has been working with SME’s since 2013 to launch, develop and perfect their online presence. In 2019 Christina made the move from employee to business owner of a successful digital marketing agency focused on educating business owners in the use of social media. Christina is driven by the fact that in today’s world, it doesn’t matter how big or small your marketing budget is, you can be a major player. For small businesses, the tools are just as accessible – you just need to know how to use them! LinkedIn Twitter WebsiteSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
