For the week of March 3-9, 2025, on The Weekly Transit, we explore the theme of Authentic Communication as Mercury transits into Aries, where it will begin its retrograde on March 14th. Scott emphasizes the importance of being real, honest, open, and transparent in our communications while reflecting on the entrepreneurial spirit of his podcast guests, connecting their unique creative journeys to Pluto in Aquarius and the celebration of individuality. This week's celebrity highlight features Mel Robbins, whose Aries North Node and Full Moon birth chart perfectly exemplifies the Aries energy of trusting instincts and taking quick action.Scott shares personal insights about our collective hypnosis—the belief that we don't matter or that others hold more power over our lives than we do. He recounts receiving a message from a distressed family member about political concerns, using this as a springboard to discuss how childhood experiences shape our neural pathways. He explains how the traumas we experience as helpless children create protective thought patterns that eventually harden and perpetuate the very frequencies they were designed to shield us from, comparing these limiting patterns to a child's car seat that no longer fits us as adults.Scott explores Mel Robbins' astrological profile, noting her birth with the North Node, Moon, Chiron, and Saturn all in Aries, opposing her planets in Libra and Scorpio. This polarization in her chart explains her work on overcoming people-pleasing tendencies and learning to trust her instincts—themes evident in her books: The 5 Second Rule and The Let Them Theory. Scott connects Robbins' chart to the current Mercury entering Aries transit (March 3-29), encouraging quick but not hurried thinking and authentic self-expression. Additional transits include Mercury Sextile Pluto in Aquarius (March 4-6), helping us break free from external control and reclaim our personal power; the Sun in Pisces Squares the Moon in Gemini (March 6), prompting compassionate curiosity about what emerges from our unconscious; and the Sun in Pisces forms a supportive Trine with Mars in Cancer (March 6-8), giving us courage to delve into past traumas and rewire our protective but limiting thought patterns. This is a week to protect your mind by recognizing when external voices have infiltrated your thoughts and created fear. It's time to disassemble the neural wiring created during childhood trauma and replace it with patterns that support your adult self through self-compassion and authentic communication. As Scott reminds listeners, "When you have the courage to fight for yourself in your own mind, not out of fear, but out of love," you practice the most authentic communication of all.(30:04) Mercury in Aries – March 3 – 29March 1 – Mercury Enters its Retrograde Shadow in Pisces 26°49' March 3 – Mercury in Aries March 14 – Mercury Retrograde in Aries 9°35'March 29 – Mercury Retrograde in PiscesApril 7 – Mercury Direct in Pisces 26°49'April 15 – Mercury in AriesApril 26 – Mercury Exits its Retrograde Shadow in Aries 9°35' May 10 – Mercury in Taurus Previous dates Mercury has transited through Aries. March 9 – May 15, 2024March 18 - April 3, 2023March 27 - April 10, 2022April 3 - 19, 2021(48:21) Mercury in Aries Sextile Pluto in Aquarius 3° – March 4 – 6 (Tuesday – Thursday) – Exact on Wednesday, March 5.(53:19) The Sun in Pisces Square the Moon in Gemini 16° – Thursday, March 6 at 8:32 AM PST(1:03:11) The Sun in Pisces Trine Mars in Cancer 17° – March 6 – 8 (Thursday – Saturday) – Exact on Friday, March 7.You can support the podcast through Spotify: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/theweeklytransit/supportYou can support the podcast financially through Donor Box: https://donorbox.org/the-weekly-transit-podcasthttps://www.theweeklytransit.com/

Welcome to the Kids Ministry and Leadership Podcast. This month we are looking at unlocking your voice and how it is an expression of your essential self and an expression of your why. Understanding your why is fundamental to effective communication. It gives your voice purpose and direction, ensuring that what you say truly connects with your audience. Show notes for this ep will be below.Check us out!WebsiteInstagram 1. Find Your WhyYour why is the bedrock of all your communication. It goes beyond what you do or how you do it—it's the driving force behind your life and your message. Before you communicate with others, you must first answer for yourself: "Why am I doing this?" The clearer you are on your purpose, the more aligned your words and actions will be. This alignment creates an internal compass, giving your communication both clarity and impact.2. Speak from the HeartAuthenticity is the key to effective communication. People are drawn to those who communicate from their true selves, but this requires significant internal work. Before you can speak authentically, you need to focus on understanding and aligning with your essential self—the person God created you to be—rather than your social self, which is how you act to fit in socially. Speaking from the heart means being vulnerable, real, and willing to reveal who you are beneath the surface.3. Understand How People ListenTo communicate effectively, you must understand how people listen. A nodding head doesn't necessarily mean someone understands or agrees with what you're saying. People hear with their conscious mind, but they listen and respond from their subconscious. Our subconscious makes up about 80% of our thinking, while only 20% is conscious. When we communicate, we often focus on what people hear, but real impact happens when we speak to what they are listening to internally.4. Find Your Life MessageYour life message is the unique truth or conviction that drives you. It goes beyond any specific topic, sermon, or lesson—it's the core message that underpins everything you communicate. Discovering your life message requires self-reflection. Ask yourself: What bothers you? What are you unreasonable about? These questions help uncover the deep passions and burdens that shape your perspective.5. The Art of CaptureLearning to capture moments, ideas, and experiences is a vital skill for any communicator. The best communicators are not just great speakers—they are great observers. They notice things that others might miss and store them for future use. Capture is about gathering insights, ideas, and moments, often unexpectedly, that help you develop your message over time.6. Find Your Vocal FingerprintYour voice is more than just the sound you make—it's an expression of your identity. Every communicator has a unique voice, a vocal fingerprint given by God, and it's essential to find yours if you want to communicate effectively. Your voice reflects who you are at your core, and it needs to be heard. However, many people struggle to find their true voice because they are influenced by external pressures or expectations.7. The Power of TransformationTrue communication isn't just about sharing information—it's about transformation. Real change happens when we speak to the subconscious mind and challenge people to think differently. Transformational thinking begins with internal reflection and takes time to grow. You can't expect to create lasting change with one message, but you can plant seeds of transformation that grow over time.

How acceptance and authenticity can transform all of our interactions. What's the key to experiencing deeper connection in our communication? According to Alan Alda, it starts with acceptance — of others and ourselves."Connecting, communicating, and clarity," Alda explains, "they're all based on hearing what the other person is really saying; letting the person be real; accepting them.” As an acclaimed actor, writer, director, and author of If I Understood You, Would I Have This Look on My Face?, Alda has spent much of his career exploring how acceptance enables us to be our authentic selves, leading to better communication and truer connection. “There's nothing more engaging than the real you,” he says. Also the founder of the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook University, Alda strives to help scientists and health professionals communicate more effectively with the public. “Science can't do its work unless it gets funded. Artificial intelligence can now do a lot of things. But if you're worried about it taking your place as a communicator, Russ Altman says you need to question why you're communicating in the first place.Altman is a professor of bioengineering, a senior fellow at the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence, and host of Stanford Engineering's podcast, The Future of Everything. According to him, advancing technology isn't a threat to human creativity and connection, but a tool we can use to raise our own standards for communication.“If you're worried that a ChatGPT-type tool can replace you, you need to [ask]: Why am I communicating? What am I trying to say? Do I have a message?” he says. “If those things are true, it shouldn't be a problem. It should actually amplify and improve your message.”In this episode of Think Fast, Talk Smart, Altman and host Matt Abrahams explore how effective communication can help us envision, articulate, and navigate towards our desired future, in our relationships, in our work, and in society.Episode Reference Links:Stanford Profile: Russ B.
