The Greater Game aims to improve the health and well-being of 12-to-16-year-olds by encouraging them to take one healthier action per week. In this episode, we're joined by The FA's Dom Edwards and grassroots coach Myles Hadley to learn more about the programme and how coaches can implement it in their sessions.  Dom has coached for 15+ years in boys and girls academy football, university football and is a lecturer specialising in coaching. Myles is the assistant coach for the under-13s Blues and programme coordinator for The FA, supporting the development of The Greater Game project.  Our guests give us an overview of the four elements of The Greater Game that encourage players to move well, eat well, sleep well and think well. New sexual misconduct allegations have been made about a cabinet minister and a top Number 10 aide who serve at the heart of Boris Johnson's government according to a Sky News investigation. They've published testimony from two women who give detailed, first-hand accounts of what they claim happened to them when one was assaulted and the other groped by political figures who are both now in senior roles. Liz Bates is the political correspondent at Sky News and presenter of the Open Secret Podcast. The race to be the next Prime Minister comes to an end of Monday, when either Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak will enter Number 10. Ella Robertson McKay has recently interviewed both candidates as the National Chair of the Conservative Young Women group – which represents female party members under the age of 35. Ella joins Anita to discuss what each candidate is offering to young women and what Ella's members think the winner should prioritise. At the start of lockdown in spring 2020 two friends living in Hastings set up a Facebook group for friends to experience the excitement of dressing up on a Friday and getting read to go out when everybody was forced to stay at home. The “Frock up Friday” movement was born and within three weeks the group had 10,0000 members worldwide and now two years later, they number 15,000 and are still growing. The friends who founded the group call themselves the “Mother Frockers” – Beverli Francis and Suzie Simms – and they'll be joining Anita Rani this morning to talk about their picture book which details many of the fabulous outfits members share, their festival this weekend for online friends to finally meet up in person, as well as their plans for the future. In July the healthcare charity Nuffield Health published data which showed that 47% of women had done no vigorous exercise in the past year. It was quickly pointed out that there might be lots of reasons for this - lack of time and money for example but there are other factors too. Every Body Outdoors is a group of women who are determined to fight for clothing and kit which fits them and they want to see larger and plus-sized people out and doing exercise, Charlotte Petts joins 5 of the group in the Brecon Beacons as they walk and talk about their campaign and their experiences. For their first podcast of the year, they were catching up on where they left off from their 90-day challenge that turned into 183 days and still going, where they see 2022 professionally and personally. They talk about what they will be taking into 2022, from what they learned in 2021—learning from mistakes and deciding whether it is best to make a new year's resolution or just to find better solutions? Gemma says, 'A breakdown happens before a breakthrough.' So this year, she will help the men smash through that wall of inconsistency. What happens is people go hard and give themself challenges but then burn themselves out, so never continue. It's about doing one thing or small things consistently, rather than lots of big things inconsistently. Trying to find solutions rather than setting resolutions is essential It's good to have something in life that you want to achieve; 90 days is an excellent way of ticking things off your list and making progress. It challenges people with weight loss, fitness, bad habits or even just with business goals and aspirations. It is long enough for people to see results, but it's not too far away, so they are still driven and are good for people to start with if they don't have many ideas or just starting out. While 90 days isn't too long, it is about giving yourself a starting point, and then what happens is when you've reached 90 days, you'll be thinking, "I'm nearly there," and that will push you on! This year, Leon and Pauls aim to keep consistent, living by the 80/20 rule. 20% fitness and 80% in the kitchen. They explain how 80 per cent of your happiness comes from 20 per cent of your activities and that 80 per cent of your results come from 20 per cent of things you do. The 80-20 rule principle is to identify an entity's best assets and use them efficiently to create maximum value. (Pareto principle - Wikipedia by Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto) Eating well is the highest on their list as they feel they have a good balance of fitness. It's about working out what you are most likely to succeed at and what's most important, sometimes this can be something as simple as making more time for yourself! Leon and Paul have even upped their game by joining a fancy new gym (Nuffield Health). They realise that there is value in paying a little more for something that will be more worthwhile and will pay off by helping them achieve their goals while improving their physical and mental health too!

Long Covid will be the hallmark of the pandemic and is likely to affect hundreds of thousands of patients for years to come. But because the disease is so new, we have very limited information about how to treat it. Some patients are currently discharged from hospital with no formal recovery plan, which can result in a longer recovery process and prolonged side effects.So when I heard about the free 12-week specialist recovery programme from Nuffield Health, I wanted to learn more. In addition to physical rehabilitation, the programme includes topics such as coping with fatigue, managing breathlessness, anxiety, low mood, improving sleep and eating for recovery.I chat with Dr Ben Kelly who leads the Clinical Research, Outcomes and Data Science functions within Nuffield Health. Alongside his Nuffield Health responsibilities, Ben has acted as Head of Interdisciplinary Medicine & Technology at the Medical Research Council, with his clinical expertise in cardiology. Paula Moore also joins us and is a business graduate and certified health and life coach, spending most of her career in senior retail management who personally recovered from chronic stress and fatigue 6 years ago.We mention the term VO₂ max during the podcast a few times without defining it.
