How do you cope when employees, customers, and other stakeholders are more demanding than ever before? It's impossible to solve every problem, but you can partner with others - even outside your industry - to solve complex challenges and meet rising demands. Use cross-industry collaboration to unlock innovative solutions, share resources, and strengthen your organisation.https://swiy.co/go-cross-industry-collaborationHow are you coping – and planning to cope – with our fast-changing world in 2025?You don't need a futurist to tell you our world is changing faster than ever before, and we're going to face a lot more change, uncertainty, and disruption in the future. We're all experiencing this every day. But as a leader, how are you managing and navigating your team through that?Leaders have a dual responsibility now. On one hand, you have to navigate this change and lead your team through it. And on the other hand, you must keep an eye on the future so you can take advantage of the opportunities that change brings. The problem is people expect more.Customers are more demanding. Our employees are more demanding.Other stakeholders are more demanding. It's not enough to simply try to pedal faster and faster to keep up. It's tempting to try, but you will burn out. And even if you don't, it's impossible to keep up.So, what can you do instead?Instead of trying to solve all your problems internally, partner and collaborate with other organisations. It doesn't even need to involve people within your industry. You just need people who can help you solve problems you're not equipped to solve. This idea is called cross-industry collaboration, and it's rapidly gaining steam.I'm sure you have seen examples of it aready – for example:Woolworths partners with OzHarvest to provide surplus food to charities so that they don't waste it.Telstra and the Royal Flying Doctor Service are collaborating to increase the number of telehealth services for people in regional areas. The National Australia Bank (NAB) is partnering with Good Shepherd Microfinance to provide small micro-loans to customers who NAB isn't equipped to serve. This idea of cross-industry collaboration is one of ten key trends I've identified for leaders in 2025. I'm running an online presentation soon about these trends.I won't cover them all, but instead will focus on three key trends: one about customers, one about employees, and the other focused on you as a leader. This presentation is free and open to everybody. So please register and feel free to invite others in your team, especially leaders.Register for the virtual masterclass:https://swiy.co/go-cross-industry-collaboration Hosted on Acast. Rebecca Bull and Zoe Weir on the pressure to be super

Bec and Zoe have been best friends for over 20 years. In that time, they've ridden the waves of womanhood and motherhood together. And while they've lived parallel lives when it comes to navigating motherhood and career, over the years, they've regularly found themselves coming back to the same conclusion: that it's exhausting to try and be it all. To have it all. To be a superwoman, whatever that means. And so they brought their unique minds and journeys together – through Not Super. Woman – a podcast that explores the pressure to be super. And journeys, they have been on. Bec lost her mum to a six year battle with cancer when she was just twelve years old, and I don't think it's a stretch to say that it entirely influenced the way she wanted to show up as a mum. She was desperate to fill the void that she so deeply missed, and in her own words, she took on the martyr role, left her work in television, and felt that pressure to be super.Zoe on the other hand, felt a little more ambivalent towards motherhood. But, as the saying goes, when it rains, it pours and after loosely discussing trying to conceive with her partner, Zoe became pregnant just as she started a new job. But there wasn't just one baby in there. There were two, and while navigating pregnancy with trying to put her best foot forward in her new role, it was at 24 weeks pregnant that Zoe was put on bed rest in hospital. She wouldn't leave that hospital for another 10 weeks, when her twin girls came into the world. She wrote out rosters from the hospital bed, she felt like she was letting everyone around her down and after what felt like a lifetime, she was navigating life as a twin mum while desperately longing to return to paid work. Here, we hear about the best friends' journeys and relationships with paid work after children, why women need to take their creative and professional projects more seriously, and why we all need to rethink what it means to be super.---This episode of Ready or Not is brought to you by Floraly—fresh flowers (and the cutest tiny Christmas trees!) with same-day delivery, perfect for any occasion. When I recently put a call out to interview mums working in more corporate fields, Bec O'Brien's email caught my attention. There's embarking on the journey to freeze her eggs just six months before falling surprisingly pregnant. There's the younger boyfriend, and the fact that she broke the news of the pregnancy to him in the bedroom of his share house. There's being the primary breadwinner, earning significantly more than her partner, and watching him effortlessly step into the primary carer role once she returned to work at roughly three months postpartum. There's a plane trip to Mexico for a big promotion just as she returned to work, and all the things she's learned about working full time alongside motherhood through it all. Here, we talk pros and cons lists and why they don't always make sense when it comes to motherhood, Bec's unexpected fixation on breastfeeding and what her experience with it was like, and why returning to work actually brought more balance to Bec's mothering, not less.---This episode of Ready or Not is brought to you by Floraly—fresh flowers (and the cutest tiny Christmas trees!) with same-day delivery, perfect for any occasion. In fact, motherhood doesn't really follow any rule book, and I think it's fair to say we all have some thoughts on that. This week Nicola and Di chat with Australian food icon and restaurant royalty, Matt Moran. Matt is best known for the incredible restaurants he's created, including Chiswick, North Bondi Fish, The Opera Bar, and of course the stand out of them all, Aria - and that's only a handful from a very long list. But it's not only his restaurants that make Matt an icon, he's also worked on 12 popular TV shows including Master Chef, Paddock to Plate and The Great Australian Bake Off alongside his dear friend, Maggie Beer. Add to that 4 best-selling cookbooks and a bunch of national and international awards, Matt certainly has an awe-inspiring career in the food industry. What we also love about Matt is how much he gives back - through the charity work he does for organisations like OZHarvest, through mentoring and guiding other young chefs as well as through his own sustainable farming - that's right, Matt is a fourth generation farmer! In this conversation we hear about Matt's lifelong passion for food and cooking, which began when Matt started as an apprentice at The Belle Helene restaurant when he was just 15. By the time he was 22, he had already opened his first restaurant in Sydney, The Paddington Inn Bistro. Matt's long and successful career has been shaped by hard work, persistence and perseverance - but above all, it's his passion that's been the driving force. As Matt reminds us - if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life.  Matt opens up about his friendship with Gordon Ramsay, and what they get up to on the yearly trips they take together to Iceland. He also shares about the strong sense of community and mateship amongst chefs and the wonderful friends he's made over the 40 years he's been in the industry.  It was so lovely to chat to Matt about his life story and the remarkable imprint he's made, and continues to make, on the Australian food industry. The Spirituality Of Birth With Jessica Chapnik Kahn An honest exploration of two births, femininity, shame, rage and deep love. The becoming and disappearing of a mother. Welcome to Episode 3 of Season 6, our Rise of the Feminine season. In this collection of podcasts we are talking about how the feminine rises within us during pregnancy, birth and beyond. I'm so grateful that you are listening to these conversations on living in a way that fully honours our feminine journey and strength. Today's conversation is with one of my best friends Jessica Chapnik Kahn. She is co-author of A Repurposed Life with Ronni Kahn from OzHarvest. Author of the children's book Lenny and the Ants and the poetry collection MADRE, which was inspired by the birth of her son, Lev. Jessica lives in Sydney and is married to musician Nadav Kahn. She has worked in theatre and TV, played in the bands of some of Australia's finest artists, and released two solo albums. Jessy is an extraordinary human being, and you'll hear how much I love her. I wish that every person had such a curious and open minded friend in their lives. In this episode we chat about: Her two beautiful births. I was Doula at both her 5 year old and her 2 year olds birth. The postpartum world and this sense of disappearing as a mother. Birth, as a dream, and a rite of passage. Posterior labour, epidural and her little girl Shemi needing surgery after birth. We also talk about surrender, the hero's journey, the shame and maternal rage that we often feel as mothers. Plus, the rising of the feminine alongside the rising of the masculine. That has to happen at the same time. I hope you enjoy. The world's most regarded entrepreneurs and business owners saw a problem around them and wanted to fix it. What's stopping you? This year, for International Women's Day, the theme is #ChooseToChallenge - because we all have the power to take a stand, to challenge the status quo because from our challenge, comes change.     But you might be asking, how do I even get started? There's no one better to share how you can choose to challenge than Ronni Kahn AO. Ronni is an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) and was named Australian Local Hero of the Year in 2010. She is best known for founding OzHarvest, Australia's leading food rescue organisation and we have brought her in to share her story in this episode of The Make It Happen Show. Since its inception, OzHarvest has been working in Australia to halve food wastage by 2030, and through Ronni's vision and leadership in just the past year alone, they've diverted 9 million kilograms of surplus food to those in need.     Ronni has come far, from her journey growing up and experiencing apartheid in South Africa, to running an event management business earning sometimes $50,000 in a weekend, to now being one of Australia's leading social entrepreneurs. She is changing the face of food behaviour and habits in Australia, and across the globe. And in this episode, she talks all about her experiences, lessons, and advice to help you drive social and global change for the better, just as she did. Whether you're an entrepreneur looking to solve a problem through business, or someone who just wants to make their community a better place, this episode is for all of us who are ready to choose to challenge. #IWD2021   Timestamps: 2:07 - What sparked Ronni Kahn to start OzHarvest 5:44 - Why Ronni decided to pursue a social issue despite its difficulties 7:40 - Ronni dives into OzHarvest's biggest struggles today 9:13 - The one trip that scaled OzHarvest to what it is today 12:54 - The major role developed nations play on food wastage 14:25 - The logistical dilemma on food wastage and allocation in Australia 15:39 - How Ronni convinced regulators to take part in OzHarvest's pursuit 17:21 - How OzHarvest impacted laws on food wastage 21:18 - The one thing Ronni believes every entrepreneur should know 23:33 - Why the journey of sustainability is ever-changing 26:49 -
