Cardi B has the greatest level-up story I've ever seen. When she started to dance, her goal was to retire from it by the time she was 25 and build her wealth through real estate. Things have definitely taken a different turn but most definitely not for the worse. I'll get more into her exotic dancing later. Her rise to fame and success has been nothing short of monumental, inspirational, and motivational. She went from raking up dollars in the club to securing ALL the bags from not only performing all over the world and topping the charts - Cardi B has the most number one hits among female rappers, by the way. Bodak Yellow, I Like It, Girls Like You, and of course, WAP. She has also become every girl's BFF and you either love her or hate or hate to love her but either way, my girl has the Midas touch and turns everything to gold. You've probably even done or watched about a million TikToks of the WAP dance… to be honest. 2020 has been slow for some people but Cardi stays dominating from magazine covers, she announced her Las Vegas residency at the Palms Casino Resort but due to the pandemic that's on hold and she also joined the cast of Fast and Furious 9 which is slated for a 2021 release. Either way, these are all big deals and that means big bucks! Prior to 2020 though, Cardi was reportedly paid 170k for two 35-minute acts at Coachella in 2018 (that she performed pregnant, by the way), her FashionNova line sold out completely and she numerous sold-out tours. I told you. Anything she touches…GOLD.

Welcome to the 6th Round Retro Post-Fight Show. This is the show that digs into the archives and gives you a comprehensive review of classic MMA events, that span as far back as UFC 1. Join Eddie Mercado & Victor Rodriguez as they relive a UFC Fight Night event this week, complete with results, analysis, and of course a few laughs. This week we feature the Sept. 19th, 2007, UFC Fight Night 11: ‘Thomas vs. Florian’ event. This was a nine-fight card, chock full of eight out of nine finishes, with the one decision bout taking FOTN. The event went down from The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tapology.com addressed the details behind the Main and Co-Main nicely in their fight wiki: “In something of a rarity in MMA, albeit much more common than in most sports, Ultimate Fight Night 11 ended up airing without either of its originally-scheduled main and co-main event bouts, as Mike 'Quick' Swick was forced out of his fight with Chris Leben due to injury and Spencer Fisher was forced out of the main event slot against Din Thomas. After replacing Fisher in the main event, Florian made his case as the top lightweight contender in the UFC by finishing Thomas with a Rear Naked Choke at the end of the first round.” So, the main event that night ended up showcasing a bout between veteran Din ‘Dinyero’ Thomas and up-and-coming Kenny ‘KenFlo’ Florian. Thomas was on a three-fight winning streak, having just beat Jeremy 'Lil Heathen' Stephens at 2:44 in Round 2 via Armbar a few months back at UFC 71, at the end of May of that year. Dinyero was entering the octagon with a 23-6 professional record against fellow American, Florian; who was an up-and-coming fighter with a 8-2 record, on a two-fight win streak, having last defeated Alvin Robinson at UFC 73, via Punches at just 4:30 of Round 1. Then in the co-main event we ended up with a middleweight brawl between Chris ‘The Crippler’ Leben, having lost three of his last four fights has something to prove this night against ‘Dangerous’ Terry Martin. The fight went a full 13:56 minutes; finally ending with a fortuitous punch thrown from Leben. Also that night, on the main card we got to watch the then “TUF Season 5 breakout fighter”, Nate Diaz, swarm another young fighter, coming out of Brazil, Júnior Assunção, in just four minutes and ten seconds of Round 1 - submitting him via a sweet Guillotine Choke. Meanwhile, during the prelims, we had a young Gray Maynard in his third UFC bout punching out Joe Veres in literally nine seconds. Let’s take a look at the card, complete with fight results: Main Card: MAIN EVENT FIGHT: Kenny Florian DEF. Din Thomas via SUB-Rear-Naked Choke at 4:31 of Rd 1 of 3 - 155 lbs Co-Main: Chris Leben DEF. Terry Martin via KO/TKO-Punch at 3:56 of Rd 3. Total 13:56 - 185 lbs Nate Diaz DEF. Steve Stevens is my guest today. Steve shared stories and advice from the road. His guitar playing background started at the age of 7 and five decades later he is still rocking out on a regular basis with Billy Idol. Spending nearly 40 years, off and on, with Billy Idol has given him some rare insight to the music industry. Steve worked on albums with Michael Jackson, Ric Ocasek, Vince Neil, soundtracks for the movies “Top Gun” and “Speed”, and more recently supergroup Deathland Ritual. He won his Grammy for the “Top Gun Anthem” and we talked about the possibility of the song making a comeback for this summer blockbuster follow up “Top Gun: Maverick”. He sees a need for the continuation of rock music and live performances but he also spoke about the growth of electronic music and the recent boom of Billie Eilish. I was completely blown away getting to spend so much time talking with Steve and thankful for his wife, Josie, for setting up our time to chat. They work well together and we spoke about the positives of having your spouse with you while traveling for work. Steve will be playing with Billy at their new residency at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas over the month of March. Make sure to follow him on social media to see where and with whom he will be playing with for the rest of the year.

An arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association is accused of hearing a case that may have been a conflict-of-interest. As previously reported, a California resident lost an arbitration to Palms Place, LLC and was ordered by the arbitrator to pay nearly $90,000 in legal fees. The resident had made a deposit of $108,000 on a condominium that was to be built next to the Palms Casino in Las Vegas. The arbitration was executed through the American Arbitration Association which touts itself as providing “neutrals”; arbitrators with no conflicts or ethical concerns. As the California resident learned after-the-fact, his case was decided by an arbitrator whose neutrality is now being called into question. As of publication time, the American Arbitration Association had not responded to a request for comment. Thomas Ryan, a partner in the Lewis Roca Rothgerber law firm was the arbitrator on the case. At no time did he disclose his or his firm’s connections with Palms Place owner George Maloof and Palms Casino minority owner Greenspun Corporation. Lewis Roca Rothgerber is heavily involved in the casino gaming industry. According to the firm’s website, “Lewis Roca Rothgerber’s gaming practice group is a national practice that supports casino operators, suppliers, state and local governments, communities, businesses, non-profit organizations, tribal governments and others in addressing casino gaming law including Native American and riverboat casinos, racinos, interactive and mobile gaming, poker, and interstate horse racing.” Ryan, along with three other Lewis Roca Rothgerber attorneys, currently represent Brian Greenspun, owner of The Greenspun Corporation in a pending federal district court case, Greenspun, et al. vs. Stephens Media, LLC, et al, according to court documents. The Greenspun Corporation website states, “Palms Casino Resort — The Greenspun Corporation is also a minority partner in the Palms Casino Resort, a 95,000 square foot casino developed by the Maloof Companies where non-stop entertainment can be found. The Palms also opened its new expansion and has introduced Palms Place, a tower currently under construction, which will feature fully furnished condos…” The firm has also represented Brian Greenspun before various Nevada regulatory bodies relating to his interest in N-M Ventures which does business in the Palms Casino Resort, according to documents. Another potential conflict is that the law firm’s partner Alfredo Alonso represented Palms as a paid lobbyist before the Nevada Legislature in the 74th (2007), 75th (2009) and 76th (2011) sessions. The California resident’s arbitration was in 2011 and early 2012. The American Arbitration Association’s Model Standards of Conduct states, “A mediator shall decline a mediation if the mediator cannot conduct it in an impartial manner. Impartiality means freedom from favoritism, bias or prejudice.” In addressing conflicts of interest, the rules further state, “A mediator shall avoid a conflict of interest or the appearance of a conflict of interest during and after a mediation. A conflict of interest can arise from involvement by a mediator with the subject matter of the dispute or from any relationship between a mediator and any mediation participant, whether past or present, personal or professional, that reasonably raises a question of a mediator’s impartiality.” The resident has asked the court to overturn Ryan’s ruling as well as the award of attorney fees.

Guest Mix: Jordan Stevens (Marquee / Las Vegas). This months episode comes to you from the Buenos Aires hotel room of Christopher Lawrence where he is in town for Ultra Music Festival in Argentina. This months guest mix is from Jordan Stevens from Las Vegas. Jordan Stevens has a cultivated devotion to reading the dance floor every time he takes control of the tables and invigorates a crowd. For the Georgia-born, Vegas-based DJ, his unbiased approach to electronic dance music insures everyone from the critical club kid to a visitor from middle America will be dancing from when the party starts until last call."I enjoy all forms of electronic dance music," Stevens says. "There's an element in each genre that I love and incorporate into my sets." With a perceptive connection and unbiased approach to what any given room craves, Stevens first honed his skills a decade ago in the Vegas underground scene as part of duo Shawn & Stevens with fellow DJ, Kevin Shawn. He earned solo recognition amongst the afterhours set at the legendary Empire Ballroom with a two-year residency, followed by regular stints playing for Godskitchen at Body English and Vanity. Always searching to share his sound, Stevens then earned a coveted residency at The Palms Casino Resort for the launch of Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto at Rain Nightclub, as well weekly gigs at Moon and Ghostbar, earning him a nod by the "Las Vegas Weekly" as the publication's first "Rising Star DJ" in it's annual Best of the City awards. Accomplished and respected throughout the industry, the seasoned professional has mastered the art of setting up a room proper to carrying clubbers all night - exactly what dance music dominator Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub was looking for when they opened their doors and acquired Stevens as a weekly resident. But his reach goes far beyond the booth in Vegas and Stevens' previous tour stops include The Colossal Event in Phoenix, Circus in Los Angeles, The Church and Vinyl in Denver, and Tantra in Miami during the Winter Music Conference. Stevens has also captivated crowds at the annual Love Festival in addition to staying grounded with gigs at Obsession, Artisan and Drai's Afterhours.
