I'm celebrating the release of my latest album "Coffee Music" by highlighting some of the incredible people I worked on the project with. This week, we have our finale and two awesome guests - the producer and engineer of “Coffee Music,” Kristopher Johnson! And the drummer of ”Coffee Music” and every other Dermot release but one, Peter Anderson! I chat with them about the loss of our mutual friend and collaborator Ed Ackerson, Boston Terriers, new home ownership, and 2 different fun facts about the vocal production and drum production on this album that set it apart from anything else I've done.   I close the episode with an acoustic performance of "Your Big Brother," track 5 on “Coffee Music.”   © Destiny Park Media   Keep the conversation going by using the #ITPNTPodcast hashtag on social media.   If you want to ask us a question or send a suggestion, you can e-mail us at isthispodcast@gmail.com   To watch video clips of Destiny Park Media podcasts and stay up to date with the latest news, follow us on our social media profiles:   TikTok: @destinyparkmedia Instagram: @destinyparkmedia Twitter: @d3stinyp4rk Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDMLBUYziH4KDfCJICAk1GA   Podcast music created by Dermot. How can we be unified both within our own church and also with other churches surrounding us? How can we celebrate and honour fellow believers? How does the Spirit help us to do that?

Research by Cancer Research UK has shown that one in two people born after 1960 will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime and only half of those diagnosed will survive for 10 years or more. However, the charity's evidence suggests that people working in the construction industry are more likely to get cancer and die from the disease compared to the national population. To look at the factors that raise the risk for employees in the sector and work underway to address those, NCE editor Claire Smith is joined by Cancer Research UK senior cancer awareness nurse Jackie Kelly, Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) national civil engineering director Peter Crosland and Amey managing director for transport infrastructure Peter Anderson. Together they discuss both lifestyle factors and work-related risks that workers in the construction industry face that increase the potential for them to be diagnosed with cancer. Jackie talks about how Cancer Research UK works with industry to address cancer risk and the work it is undertaken with Amey and the Stop make a change programme with CECA. Peter from Amey explains how the firm's partnership with Cancer Research UK came about and the positive change the workers driving through the business. Meanwhile Peter from CECA explains how his organisation has also been working with Cancer Research UK to create broader industry awareness. The group discuss lessons they've learnt along the way by working in partnership and share those to help other companies looking to emulate the work that Amey and CECA have done. Finally, Jackie shares some resources for people whose companies have not yet engaged at a corporate level and are looking for better information about cancer and support if they have been diagnosed with cancer. Jackie urged people to use current, credible, research-based information rather than general Internet searches and urge people to visit the Cancer Research UK website at CRUK.org or the NHS website at NHS.uk Cancer Research UK also has a free helpline staffed by specialist nurses open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm that anyone can call to get advice. To access that resource please call 0808 800 4040. The Engineers Collective is powered by Bentley Systems. Around the world, engineers and architects, constructors and owner-operators are using Bentley's software solutions to accelerate project delivery and improve asset performance for transportation infrastructure that sustains our economy and our environment. Together, we are advancing infrastructure.

"Inspire them and lead them to higher performance, quicker outcomes, better customer service, improved health and safety, performance, better engagement of their teams." The words of Peter Anderson, Amey's Managing Director - Transport Infrastructure speaking about leadership on the latest Highways Voices podcast. In the latest conversation with one of our industry's leaders, Peter tells Adrian Tatum about his views on what makes a good leader, "I think the leader needs to be honest, I think the leader needs to be authentic... because that's how that leaders are better able to, to create followership. What a leader needs above all other things is a team that that follows the vision, follows the direction of travel, and feels valued and gets feedback by the leader." He describes the leadership process as giving staff the tools to do the work and make decisions themselves using a triangle with management, commercial and finance at each corner and asking themselves if what they are doing is "the right thing to do", and then backing their decision. "When you've got in your triangle, and you've come up with a collective decision, then I'll back you 100%, you make that decision, it's your call, you make it for the right reasons," he says. But then there's a warning if you don't follow the process. "If you are a lone wolf, and you make a decision entirely on your own, without consultation. If you're right, then that's fine, but you're looking, if you're wrong, and you have not consulted with your colleagues in the triangle, then we'll have a very difficult and very different conversation." Hear Peter's views on work in the communities, focussing on outcomes, and what our industry should do to lead. They named their new venture, Fairhaven. Their three sons, Peter, Walter and Mac, shared Annette's love of the Arts and found inspiration there. Shearwater Pottery was founded in 1928 by Peter Anderson. In this episode, his nephew, John Anderson explains how Shearwater Pottery got it name. As a painter, Walter Anderson, lived the life of a hermit, spending much of his time on Horn Island, painting Gulf Coast wildlife in his own unique style. His youngest son, John, recalls his father's strained relationship with the rest of the family and shares an emotional early memory. Even though Walter Anderson died in 1965, his work was unknown to the Art world until the 1970s. John Anderson remembers how an exhibit at a Memphis gallery helped turn his father into a cultural icon. The Friends of Walter Anderson was established in 1974 to help catalog and preserve the late artist's work. Anderson explains how that group led to the establishment of the Walter Anderson Museum.

Peter Anderson, CEO of Anderson & Associates, shares his views on the proliferation of new senior living environments. Providing examples of best in class facilities, he offers insights on creating community, experiential engaged experiences and opportunities for residents to lead active and fulfilled lives. About Peter Peter Anderson is a 30-year veteran in the leisure industries. He is the founder and CEO of Anderson and Associates, a consultancy firm specializing in developing and programming issues related to senior lifestyle communities, wellness real estate as well as resorts and spas. His day-to-day activities include developing strategic operating plans for his clients with respect to new construction, expansion, renovations, branding or enhanced operation. Operational issues include developing and training to operational standards and developing comprehensive standard operating procedures. He evaluates senior communities and wellness lodging trends and their related revenue sources vis-à-vis market acceptance and economic viability. Selected lifestyle and wellness clients include Dubai Health Care City Wellness Master Plan, (Dubai, UAE), The Los Angeles Athletic Club,(Los Angeles, CA) Hotel Bel Air Spa, (Bel Air, CA), Chopra Life Style Centers (Westminster, CO), The Phoenician Center for Well Being, (Scottsdale, AZ), the Springs at Clifton, Holistic Mineral Springs Spa at the Hospital (Clifton Springs, NY), and Glen Ivy Hot Springs, (Corona CA). Peter is a board member of the Kitalys Institute for the delay and prevention of age-related diseases and the breaking down of silos among age-related professions. He is also a faculty member at both the Collins School of Hospitality Management at the California State University's campus in Pomona, CA. and the California State University Hotel Management Program in Long Beach, CA. Prior to founding Anderson and Associates, Peter was a Vice President with PKF consulting in Los Angeles. He also managed the Hospitality consulting practice of Deloitte and Touche LLP out of their Los Angeles location. senior consultant in management advisory services of Laventhol and Horwath in San Diego, CA. In addition to consulting for development and operations of senior centers and wellness real estate, Anderson is a member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants, an invitation-only organization composed of approximately 200 members from 37 countries, dedicated to technical and ethical excellence. Mr. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physiological Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Professional Studies in Hotel Administration from Cornell University. Key Takeaways: There is a trend towards seniors “doing” as opposed to “having things done” for them. The fallacy is that once you reach a certain age, you need help to clean your home's and fix your food. When we treat residents as helpless, it takes away the human need to contribute to something bigger than ourselves. Create buildings and public space to make access to nature easier. Common areas with garden pathways provide year-round access to greenery; a gazebo will offer shade in hot weather. Community gardens create environments where people will tend their crops and then share and swap them. Beyond going out to take a nature walk, tending to plants and watching them grow creates purpose and self-sufficiency. In urban environments, design balconies and decking off the units for individual access to fresh air and a view. If feasible, consider creating a green roof. Technology is being adapted for less tech-savvy users. Look more user-friendly interfaces and functional changes such as larger buttons with more illumination.
