This quick Sunday episode was recorded right after the "pillow fight" of a playoff between Ryan Fox and Sam Burns at the 2025 RBC Canadian Open. Andy is ecstatic about Foxy's victory Monday and subsequent move into the top 35 in the OWGR, hoping that this could get him a spot on the International Team for next year's Presidents Cup. Brendan and Andy recap an SGS-filled top of the leaderboard at TPC Toronto that ended in one of the worst playoffs in PGA Tour history. PJ is called on to explain Cameron Young's Sunday round and blowup on the 72nd hole but he claims this was positive momentum heading into the U.S. Open. A premature game of Oakmont Contender or Pretender is played following Rory's adventurous week with his driver and Phil's near-win at LIV Virginia. Brendan received some on-the-ground intel from RTJ, where Joaquin Niemann won yet again. The show wraps with some Oakmont chatter about rough content, a weekend of rain, and excitement for what's to come in the week ahead at the 125th United States Open.

What separates a good swing from a tour-level one? It's not just club path or face angle—it's how the body moves, especially through impact. And no move is more revealing than what the pelvis does around P9 (trail arm parallel in the follow-through).In this episode, Mike and Shaun from Athletic Motion Golf talk shop from inside the Athletic Motion Golf Club, where top teachers and players share real insights, test theories, and reverse-engineer what the best in the world do. You'll hear how technology like Gears and force plates helps them see exactly where elite players are—and where most amateurs go wrong. They break down how anterior/posterior tilt, side bend, trail leg action, and upper body orientation affect what happens at impact and beyond. They also explain why mobility matters more than raw athleticism, how even great athletes can struggle without the right movement patterns, and what most instructors are missing. It's not about guessing—it's about measuring. If you've ever wondered why some swings just look tour… this episode shows you the difference.

Will Doctor gives you the sharpest card for the 2025 RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto. -Discussing top 7 on odds board -2 t20's -3 outrights (40/1, 80/1, 100/1) -Sleeper, talking Cougar Collins -FRP, 2 lineups, scoring, best bet For the latest on the world of golf, follow Doc on X @drmedia59 The 2025 RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto brings exciting betting opportunities and player analysis. Hosted at Osprey Valley, this wide-open, low-hazard course with oversized greens promises a birdie-fest with a projected winning score of 27-under par. Will Doctor's PGA Tour Preview Podcast delivers in-depth insights for bettors and fans. Rory McIlroy leads the odds at +450, having won twice and posted two additional top-10s in four Canadian Open starts. Despite some recent iron play struggles, McIlroy's game suits the forgiving Toronto course, though Doctor passes due to short odds. Ludvig Åberg sits at 16-1 after a strong 16th-place finish at Memorial and a prior 7th at the Masters. Corey Conners, at 20-1, boasts consistent ball-striking and improved putting but faces distance concerns. Shane Lowry's excellent tee-to-green game is offset by putting woes, making him a fade at 22-1. Robert MacIntyre, last year's champion, faces chipping and driving distance issues, leading Doctor to pass on him at 30-1. Taylor Pendrith's elite iron play is countered by inconsistent putting, leaving him off the card at 30-1. Sam Burns offers strong value with elite putting and returning iron form, making him a top-20 pick at +125. Johnny Keefer, a 24-year-old emerging star, enters with Korn Ferry Tour success and a recent U.S. Open qualification, earning a top-20 bet at +250. Luke Clanton, the Florida State standout with historic amateur PGA Tour performances, is backed for an outright win at 40-1. Gary Woodland, recovering strong form and elite bentgrass putting, holds value at 80-1. Eric Van Rooyen's dominant U.S. Open qualifying win makes him a compelling 100-1 outright play. Sleeper Cougar Collins, a TPC Toronto member, earned his Canadian Open spot via qualifying and is backed for a top-40 finish at 8-1. First-round pick Harry Hall, ranked 6th in first-round scoring average, offers value at 4-1 to finish top-10 after round one. DraftKings lineup selections include Åberg, Burns, Clanton, Keefer, Van Rooyen, and Collins, while PGA Tour Fantasy features Åberg, Hall, Clanton, Van Rooyen (Captain), Keefer, and Burns. Weather forecasts predict favorable scoring conditions early with potential rain disruptions over the weekend. Doctor's best bet is Ludvig Åberg top-10 at +150. In March 2025, Josh Goldenberg had all but given up his dreams of playing professional golf. Using his finance degree from the University of Pennsylvania, he took a job at Goldman Sachs. But when he saw an opening to play in a qualifying tournament for the RBC Canadian Open, he signed up and flew up north on a Sunday—so he wouldn't have to take work off—and ended up earning a spot on his first PGA Tour. Goldenberg shares his remarkable story on this week's Menschwarmers, along with his thoughts on being a proudly Jewish player and how he carries that through his life. Also in this episode: Gabe recounts how Robert Shwartzman fell as quickly as he rose in his recent F1 race, and the hosts pay homage to Zach Hyman, who won't play in the Stanley Cup Finals due to injuries—despite the Edmonton Oilers remaining both the most Canadian and most Jewish team to root for this year. Another week, another Sunday episode reacting to a Scottie Scheffler win on the PGA Tour. Andy and Brendan recap Sheriff Scottie's 16th career victory after he defeated Ben Griffin by four shots at The Memorial. Brendan reads through some stats to help put Scottie's three-year run in some historical context before Andy runs through Scheffler's 2017 Walker Cup teammates to show how much his game has improved in eight years. The two are downright giddy that Ian Baker-Finch dropped a "Sheriff" on the broadcast on Sunday which was promptly added to the soundboard. Andy and Brendan also tie up some loose ends on The Memorial by chatting about strong weeks from Ben Griffin and Sepp Straka. Speaking of good weeks, Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler made the most of their sponsor exemptions and Andy is not happy about these free invites into Signature Events. The U.S. Women's Open had some setup issues at Erin Hills after near-six hour rounds became the norm all week long. Maja Stark won her first major championship, another first-time winner at the U.S. Women's Open. Brendan and Andy also discuss Lexi Thompson's stance that she did not "retire" after her sendoff last season. The two then finish up the recap portion of the show with notes from the Austrian Open and a playoff edition of Champions Tour Minute before previewing "Golf's Longest Day" on Monday, even though the name may no longer accurately describe the event.
What if the secret to getting dramatically better at golf… wasn't about more lessons, but better practice? In this episode, Mike Granato & Shaun Webb from Athletic Motion Golf dive deep into what might be the best golf training app ever made — the Swing Coach App. From its origin story with tech entrepreneur Briscoe at our golf school, to how it's helping golfers around the world accelerate improvement with real-time, guided feedback… this isn't just a review — it's a blueprint for modern golf training. They unpack why traditional golf lessons are broken, how this app replicates supervised practice, and why “feel” alone is failing so many players. Plus, we share best practices, insider tips, and how to maximize your improvement even when you're not hitting balls.
After yet another Scottie Scheffler win against a strong field on a challenging golf course, Smylie Kaufman and Charlie Hulme zoom out to examine the formula that makes Scottie great, and whether his best attribute might be something other than his elite ball-striking. SK and CH also discuss some bold comments from Jack Nicklaus, and what his statement means about Scottie's place alongside Jack and Tiger Woods as one of the greatest to ever play golf. Smylie and Charlie also discuss the latest Ryder Cup standings - in particular, one player who is looking like a lock after a season of consistency and durability. Jordan Spieth and Keegan Bradley are also discussed as they continue to build cases for captain's picks, and why they would or wouldn't be selected. Finally, we review big changes to the Tour Championship format, what we expect to see at East Lake in a few months, and whether a more creative solution could have been chosen to conclude the PGA TOUR season. (00:00) Golf Discussion With Joe Bosco This chapter takes a fascinating look at the mental and emotional aspects of golf with special guest Joe Bosco, a respected expert in human performance. We discuss how the mind can both enhance and inhibit physical performance on the golf course, emphasizing the importance of mental control and emotional management. Joe shares insights into how golfers can improve by integrating mental strategies with physical skills, transforming them into more complete players. We explore scenarios that test a golfer's mental resilience, like facing a challenging par three over water, and highlight the common tendency for golfers to get stuck in their heads, focusing too much on mechanics rather than trusting their skills. Through this engaging conversation, we aim to help golfers overcome mental obstacles and enhance their performance by aligning their mind and body. (06:57) Navigating Parental Pressure in Junior Golf This chapter addresses the pressing issue of parental pressure in youth sports, particularly in junior golf. We explore the detrimental effects of parents who hover over their children, pushing them to perform for reasons tied to parental pride rather than the child's love for the game. Discussing personal experiences and observations, we highlight the shift from a time when young athletes played more independently to the current landscape where children often face burnout from external pressures. The conversation touches on the mental and emotional hurdles young athletes encounter, exacerbated by parental involvement and social media influences, and stresses the importance of allowing children to develop their skills and passion independently. (15:43) Mental Game in Junior Golf This chapter explores the misconceptions around perfectionism in golf, particularly for young players and their parents. I share an anecdote about an eighth-grade golfer and his parents, who have a skewed perspective due to watching highlight reels on TV, thinking professional golfers like Tiger Woods never make mistakes. By showing them PGA Tour bloopers, I challenge this perception, highlighting the reality that even top golfers miss shots. We discuss how parents, especially those unfamiliar with golf, may place unrealistic expectations on their children, drawing parallels with other sports like baseball, where failure is more accepted. I also touch on strategies for improving golf performance, referencing Joe's book "Real Golf." A key method is the self-scramble, where players hit multiple shots and choose the best one, fostering self-coaching and adaptability, essential skills in golf due to its nature of constant adjustments. (27:39) Visualization Training for Golf Performance This chapter explores the transformative power of an app designed to enhance golfers' performance by focusing on mental conditioning and visualization techniques. We discuss the importance of helping both parents and young golfers navigate the pressures of the sport, while also highlighting the app's benefits for adult players like John. The conversation touches on the app's integration of hypnotherapy elements, which aim to retrain players' responses to pressure situations, ultimately leading to improved performance. Jeff's insights on reducing pressure and fostering positivity through strategies like not keeping score but counting good shots are emphasized. A success story is shared about a young golfer who, through the app's training modules and recordings, significantly improved his ability to visualize and recall details from his games, impressing even his mother with his progress. (32:25) Mastering Mental Performance in Golf This chapter focuses on the power of visualization in enhancing golf performance and overall human potential. We explore the concept of "pre-living," which goes beyond traditional visualization by incorporating all senses and emotions to vividly imagine and rehearse future actions. Jeff Smith, a top 100 golf instructor, and Joe Bosco, a mental performance expert, discuss how this technique can help golfers of all levels by fostering a positive mindset and focusing on constructive thoughts. We also introduce Joe Bosco's newly launched app, Real Mental Golf, available in the Apple Store, which offers tools and content to support mental training for golf and life. Through engaging community features and resources, users can strengthen their focus and concentration, overcoming negative spirals to enhance performance on and off the golf course. (37:48) Mindset Mastery in Golf Coaching This chapter focuses on the significance of mental coaching in golf and how leveraging positive thoughts can enhance performance. We explore the idea of "give credit and steal shamelessly," emphasizing the value of being a transmitter of good ideas to foster personal growth and enjoyment in the game. Highlighting contributions from renowned mental coaches like Dr. Bob Rotella and Brett McCabe, the discussion underscores the importance of mindset in both individual and competitive play. By focusing on positive outcomes, such as counting good shots, golfers can shift their mindset to improve performance and enjoy the game more. A personal anecdote about helping a young player overcome the pressures of competitive golf illustrates how the right mental approach can transform one's experience. (43:05) Fascination in Golf Mindset Training This chapter focuses on cultivating a positive mindset on the golf course by encouraging players to embrace every shot, whether good or bad, with the phrase "Isn't that fascinating?" We explore how holding one's finish and maintaining balance while acknowledging the result can help take the pressure off, turning the game into an enjoyable learning experience. I share insights from working with corporate groups, where introducing this perspective leads to laughter and relaxation, even among CEOs. By reminding ourselves that golf is a game meant for fun and learning, we can enhance our performance without being bogged down by unrealistic expectations. This approach allows us to learn more effectively by focusing on enjoyment rather than self-criticism. This episode starts with a simple question: why isn't college golf more popular? Andy and Brendan look at this week's NCAA championships and wonder how the college game could raise its profile among golf fans. They compare top players, some of whom have PGA Tour cards already, and top-ranked schools to the top prospects and teams in college football and basketball that become household names during their respective seasons. After the lengthy college golf discussion, the two preview yet another Signature Event as the PGA Tour heads to the Memorial at Jack's Place (proper noun). Rory McIlroy will not be in Columbus, instead choosing to play in next week's Canadian Open in his quest to win every national open possible. One-and-done picks are made with Brendan steering into a bit after Andy boxes him into it. The U.S. Women's Open is at Erin Hills this week, leading to a debate about where the course stands in terms of major venues in the professional game. Andy and Brendan run through some notable groups for the first two rounds and share some excitement for on-location coverage from The Mixed Bag. The Champions Tour treks to Iowa and PJ has some questions about the Schwab Cup standings following the second senior major. Andy and Brendan wrap things up with some LIV contract news as the first wave of players are up for renewal.
