Noel catches up Alan Blumenfeld. If there was a television guest star hall of fame, Alan would be first ballot. The actor has had an amazing 40-year career, having guest starred on Diff'rent Strokes, Family Ties (seven times), Growing Pains, Cheers and Roseanne to name a few. Perhaps his most memorable guest star appearance was portraying Mr. Ha Ha on The Golden Girls. On the silver screen, Alan had roles in Wargames, Friday The 13th Part VI, Tin Men and Righteous Kill. If Hollywood needs someone to play a Rabbi, Alan is your guy, having do it on multiple occasions.
Yet again we must ask "Is it really THAT bad?" as we delve into the world of two very hastily delivered remakes. Cool of the week includes Next Goal Wins, Righteous Kill, Obliterated, and Fargo. Trailers are Sting, Blackout, and Sasquatch Sunset. The podcast spotlight shines on Rise from the Dead. and we get feedback from Rob Humphrey, Xim Vader, Tim Davis, Marcey Papandrea, Alexander Pehlke, Joshua Caban, and Katy Yoder. Righteous Kill saw the re-teaming of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro after the masterpiece that is Heat. However, their second film together wasn't well received by critics and audiences alike. Australian film critic Blake Howard joins the podcast to discuss what went right and wrong with the film, who is having a good time making the film and why he has never seen the film before. All About Al: The Pacino Podcast is written, edited and presented by Mark Searby Hosted on Acast. For our second full-movie breakdown (the first was Righteous Kill), and first in the 'Let's Watch!' series, we - along with longtime collaborator DTVC - discuss the Cannon Classic (?) Keaton's Cop like no one else in history has ever done before! Dare you come along for the ride with Mike Gable and Jake Barber? And what could be a better occasion than this to celebrate our 100th podcast? Probably nothing. And they said we wouldn't last. (Actually, nobody said that and everyone's been super supportive). So thank you to everyone who has listened over the past 100 eps. We appreciate it very much. Here's to another 100 episodes - which we intend to do, unless we run out of ideas. Thanks again, everybody!
In this episode, we're starting with 50 Cent. We'll chat about 50 Cent's 'Get Rich or Die Tryin' and the awkward team-up of 50 Cent and Robert De Niro in 'Righteous Kill.' We're also taking a trip down memory lane, sharing our wildest, funniest, and cringiest movie theater moments. Get ready to laugh and reminisce about your own crazy times at the movies. Join us for a nostalgic discussion that's all about movies, stories, and good times. Don't miss out on this movie-filled episode with the Duran Brothers!"
Remember our episode from years ago called "Killin' It"? Well, today we're Righteous Killin' It with our first-ever full movie breakdown! We chose, naturally, the 2008 classic, Righteous Kill. And to help us with this momentous occasion, longtime collaborator Matt, the DTVC, is onboard. Perhaps only he can help us sort out the insanity - and differences - between Turk, Rooster, Rambo TSP, and Stubby. Righteously press play today!
50 Cent Quotes on Life, Success & Power (Wisdom Radio) Who is 50 Cent? 50 Cent (Curtis James Jackson) is an American rapper, actor, producer, and entrepreneur. He began a musical career and in 2000 he produced Power of the Dollar for Columbia Records, but days before the planned release he was shot and the album was never released. In 2002, after Jackson released the compilation album Guess Who's Back?, he was discovered by Eminem and signed to Shady Records, under the aegis of Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records. With the help of Eminem and Dr. Dre (who produced his first major-label album, Get Rich or Die Tryin'), Jackson became one of the world's best selling rappers and rose to prominence with East Coast hip hop group G-Unit (which he leads de facto). In 2003, he founded G-Unit Records, signing his G-Unit associates Young Buck, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. Jackson had similar commercial and critical success with his second album, The Massacre, which was released in 2005. He released his fifth studio album, Animal Ambition, in 2014 and as of 2019 is working on his sixth studio album, Street King Immortal. During his career Jackson has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and won several awards, including a Grammy Award, thirteen Billboard Music Awards, six World Music Awards, three American Music Awards and four BET Awards. He has pursued an acting career, appearing in the semi-autobiographical film Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005), the Iraq War film Home of the Brave (2006) and Righteous Kill (2008). In this 66th episode of Worst Scene, we compare the worst scene in Michael Mann's brilliant 1995 film Heat (starring Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino) to 2008's Righteous Kill, a "film" (starring Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino) that was directed by the devil himself in an attempt to frustrate and kill God.
2008's RIGHTEOUS KILL pairs legendary thespians Robert De Niro and Al Pacino as two maverick chess-playing and little-league-coaching cops who are trying to solve a string of vigilante murders that one of them might be behind? Or the other? This movie sucks, is the synopsis. Oh, and it has a skateboarding pimp character - hence why we're covering it. Kevin and Mike dig into the careers of De Niro and Pacino, the many ways they were let down by Righteous Kill, and what pro skateboarder Rob Dyrdek is doing in this terrible, terrible movie anyway.

"Righteous Kill" is a 2008 thriller directed by John Avnet who also directed "Fried Green Tomatoes", a severely underrated Kathy Bates movies."Righteous Kill" is a movie about righteous kills. Turk and Rooser (Pacino and De Niro) are two cops on the hunt for a serial killer who leaves little notes around their victims. The killer is a little bit too close to home though.... ooo aaahhh...John Leguizamo plays Simon Perez, a detective who suspects Dr Niro is involved in the murders. This leads to much butch push-and-shove. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
It's not our worst title, but it does get to the point. Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro appeared in four films together. And that's if you count The Godfather Part II, in which they shared zero screen time because they appeared in separate timelines. So that really makes three, including a 2008 movie called Righteous Kill, which was bad enough that even Robert DeNiro regretted making it. And he was in What Just Happened the same year, so. Maybe 2008 just wasn't Robert DeNiro's Year of Quality Films. At any rate, in this episode we check out 1995's Heat, starring a couple of guys of whom you may have heard, directed by Michael Mann, and Martin Scorsese's 2019 film The Irishman, which was made for Netflix but also spent about six hours in theaters so it would qualify for Academy Awards contention. We have two very different films here which still manage to have a lot in common other than the stars. COMING ATTRACTIONS: In Reel 32, the good guys and the bad guys team up, coincidentally in Hong Kong both times. First on the projector is 1989's The Killer, and from there we move to So Close, from 2002. The Killer is a tough one to find, but fortunately you can find it on YouTube.

Today, 2/14/2020, we pay homage to 50 Cent... Curtis James Jackson III (born July 6, 1975),[4] known professionally as 50 Cent, is an American rapper, songwriter, singer, actor, television producer, entrepreneur, and investor. Born in the South Jamaica neighborhood of the borough of Queens, Jackson began selling drugs at age twelve during the 1980s crack epidemic. He later began pursuing a musical career and in 2000 he produced Power of the Dollar for Columbia Records, but days before the planned release he was shot and the album was never released. In 2002, after Jackson released the compilation album Guess Who's Back?, he was discovered by Eminem and signed to Shady Records, under the aegis of Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records. With the aid of Eminem and Dr. Dre (who produced his first major-label album, Get Rich or Die Tryin'), Jackson became one of the world's best selling rappers and rose to prominence with East Coast hip hop group G-Unit (which he leads de facto). He released his fifth studio album, Animal Ambition, in 2014 and as of 2019 is working on his sixth studio album, Street King Immortal. He executive produces and stars in the show Power, which airs on Starz.[5] During his career Jackson has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and won several awards, including a Grammy Award, thirteen Billboard Music Awards, six World Music Awards, three American Music Awards and four BET Awards.[6] He has pursued an acting career, appearing in the semi-autobiographical film Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005), the Iraq War film Home of the Brave (2006) and Righteous Kill (2008). 50 Cent was ranked the sixth-best artist of the 2000s and the third-best rapper (behind Eminem and Nelly) by Billboard.[7] Rolling Stone consider Get Rich or Die Tryin' and "In da Club" to be in their lists of "100 Best Albums of the 2000s" and "100 Best Songs of the 2000s" at numbers 37 and 13 respectively.[8][9] #29DaysOfBlackHistory *Putting People On Game does not own any rights to this music or images* Hit us up or send us a text 214-744-3601! The one where Green Blooded Bastard watches Righteous Kill. This movie is bad, but after the last one, they had to do something. Haha, there is really nothing worth watching this for. I just copied this from a Friday the 13th podcast.
Jon Avnet has directed, written, and produced dozens of motion pictures, television movies and Broadway plays, winning Oscars, Emmys, Tonys, Peabody's, DGA Awards, the Humanitas, Golden Globes and the AFI's Franklin Shaffner Medal. Avnet is known for his work as a director on movies like ‘Fried Green Tomatoes,’ ‘The War,’ ‘Up Close & Personal,’ ’88 Minutes,’ and ‘Righteous Kill.’ Recently, he’s also directed shows like ‘Rake,’ ‘Justified,’ Sneaky Pete,’ and ‘Manhunt.’ The director’s latest film deals with identity, but also schizophrenia. ‘Three Christs’ follows Dr. Alan Stone who is treating three paranoid schizophrenic patients at the Ypsilanti State Hospital in Michigan, each of whom believed they were Jesus Christ. Based on a book, the film stars Richard Gere as Stone, and Peter Dinklage, Walton Goggins, and Bradley Whitford as the patients. In the interview, Avnet discusses the differences and similarities of the characters in ‘Three Christs,’ why he’s “frustratingly slow” at casting, why some TV shows aren’t as good as they should be, why he produced ‘Black Swan,’ why filmmakers should appreciate rejection, and how obsession helps with career longevity. An...awfully written cop drama that features a 68 year old Al Pacino banging out bench press reps like he's Stallone in his prime? Join us this week as we watch two unquestionable legends attempt to tarnish untarnishable legacies by acting in one of the thinnest scripts we've ever encountered. Are there two character traits per main character? No, no there is not. Is Carla Gugino's character, Karen, disgraced in a way we've rarely if ever seen in GTTP history? Yes it is. Join in this week we review the movie that finally paired Deniro and Pacino as an on screen duo and somehow managed to completely drop the ball.
Bill is always doing a podcast with himself, in his head. Matt doesn't care for that particular podcast. Bill promises a heapin', helpin' of common decency with every friendship. The fellas apparently don't remember podcasting several moments in the film, nor do they remember entire segments of their own creation… and one of them is very sober. Marky Mark would make a terrible subconscious. Matt is unimpressed by the minute this week. The fellas talk salesmen… AGAIN. Matt once got Roma'd by a sneaker kid. Bill displays impressive mathematics skills and Matt ALMOST gets to praise him for it. Fountain pen nib tips are starting to get discussed almost as much as Spannel's giant baby on this podcast. The Swedish Chef comes by for absolutely no reason. Matt contends there is NO defense of Ginny Lingk. The fellas diverge into a fairly major Housekeeping segment. Ricky is so attentive and compassionate with Jimmy in this minute. Apparently we are all gods speaking things into existence. The fellas take a moment to eulogize Dave Moss. The fellas spend a few long minutes on the topic of Mr. Pacino's hair. "Righteous Kill" splits the fellas just a bit further. 2Dubs throws in another Housekeeping segment, that actually isn't a Housekeeping segment at all and this literally drives Matt mad. Bill then provides the sweet, sweet opiate of a Quote Corner to quell Matt's agitation, and it works!?
On today’s episode we talk Tiger and his British Open performance, we break out the Wheel of Sports Content to catch up on everything we’ve missed the past few weeks, then we welcome our friend Tom in who graciously has taken a break from meditating in the mountains to give us his profound opinions in a new segment we’re calling Toms Takes. This week’s deep dive is on the 2008 hit Righteous Kill starring De Niro and Pacino – Then we play this week's Shark Week themed game and give our closing thoughts of the week. Thanks for listening!

Jared Logan is one of the most jovial, friendly stand-ups you might meet. He's been on Comedy Central's Live at Gotham, tours colleges all over the country, and co-hosts a fantastic weekly stand-up show called Righteous Kill. On last week's Beginnings, we talked to Jared about growing up in West Virginia and about his theatrical roots. On this week's Field Guide, we discuss one of his favorite recent jokes.
Jared Logan is a hilarious stand-up who got his start in Chicago. After being featured on Comedy Central's Live at Gotham in 2008, he moved to New York and has been tearing up the Big Apple ever since, especially with his weekly show Righteous Kill, which he co-hosts with fellow stand-up Joe DeRosa. A few weeks ago, Jared sat down with us in the Wrestling Team apartment. What transpired? Jared taught us that gay stereotypes are true if you only know one gay person! Andy explained his narcissistic crooked cop fantasy! Jared, like Sartre and Nike, tells us to "Just do it!" (it = your act)! Mark and Andy are delirious from exhaustion in the midshow and post-show segments!
Joe Mande is a nationally touring stand-up who's been on Best Week Ever and Live at Gotham. He's also the man behind the blog and book Look at This Fucking Hipster. Along with his co-host Noah Garfinkel, he hosts a monthly comedy show at UCB called Totally J/K, and he's written and performed in a number of stage shows including most recently, his adaptation of Glenn Beck's The Overton Window. Joe's also one of the newest writers on the Adult Swim show Delocated. They are the two greatest actors of their generation. And in 2008, as the culmination of legendary, Academy Award-winning careers, they had their finest achievement. And by their finest achievement I mean their most unintentionally hilarious movie of either of their careers. That's how we measure achievement around here on Gymkommentary: DIY laughs. The Tale of the TapeFilm: Righteous Kill (2008)Director: Jon AvnetRuntime: 101 minutesGenre: Geriatric Cop ThrillerStars: Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, 50 Cent, Carla Gugino, Brian DennehyRated: R for Graphic Violence, Sequences of Intense Boredom, and Weird, Sadomasochistic Sex Scenes Involving a Shirtless Robert De NiroIMDb, Wikipedia, A Japanese Man Recreates Pacino's Speech From City HallTo get this RIGHTEOUS KILL GYMKOMMENTARY FILE in your iTunes, open iTunes then go "Advanced" to "Subscribe to Podcast" and then enter this link:http://feeds.feedburner.com/gymkommentaryLook, I get it. You can't feed your family, or pay your assistant's assistant's assistant, or fill up your Bentley Mulsanne's gas tank with biodiesel on indie cred and old Academy Awards. Sometimes you gotta take a job for the paycheck. But it'd be nice if you at least pretended to care about the role while you were playing it. You can't say De Niro and Pacino phone it in in Righteous Kill. Their performances are too disinterested than that; it's more like they text it in. And when you're getting out-acted by a former New Kid on the Block, it's time to step up your game. Which is exactly what Matt and Chris did when they took on this mega-bomb. Are you righteous enough to join them? NOTE: As of March 1st, 2010, this film is also available to watch on Netflix Instant.

I have the utmost respect for the men and women who serve in our armed forces, but I don't think I would make a very good soldier. There are a number of reasons for that, but perhaps the most important one is that I think I would have a hard time killing someone. I've only shot a gun once in my life. I was 20 years old and living in Alberta at the time, and I was visiting a member of my brother's church who was a farmer. He took me out to his farm and invited me to try my hand at shooting the gophers that were wrecking his cropland. I saw a fair number of gophers that day, and I fired a fair number of shots. But unless a gopher died laughing, I had absolutely no success in helping this farmer with his gopher problem. I am a lousy shot, and I would, I am sure, make a lousy soldier....

We did something a little bit different last night, a segment on movies that moved you. The reason? I had just seen Gran Torino by Clint Eastwood, twice, in a matter of days. What an incredible movie. When people talk of our greatest actor the names Pacino and De Niro always come up before Eastwood. Sure, their resumes are outstanding, having made some of the greatest movies ever made. But what have they done lately, say the last decade or so? That is where their careers and Eastwood’s go in opposite directions. Pacino and DeNero are simply vaccuming as many paychecks as possible these days. If you don’t believe me, try to sit through Righteous Kill. Clint Eastwood continues to make amazing movies. Unforgiven, In the Line of Fire, True Crimes, Gone Baby Gone and now Gran Torino, the best movie of his career. A reviewer at IMDB said this about Gran Torino and Eastwood and I agree compeltely, "If this is Clint Eastwood’s last film, I can only say that that his performance, in this stunning film, is what legends are made of." People loved this topic, we had full lines and a lot of great movie recommendations. We'll be revisiting this segment again soon, it was a lot of fun. What is Pundit Review Radio?
