Star Trek: Lower Decks – Season 1 Episode 6 – Terminal Provocations We’re back with the sixth episode of Lower Decks, titled Terminal Provocations. This episode was written by Executive Story Editor John Cochran and directed by Bob Suarez, who also directed S1E3 Temporal Edict. Ensign Fletcher – Not your exemplary Starfleet Officer This episode, we get to see another Ensign on Lower Decks, namely one Ensign Fletcher, who seems to be a bit of a diplomat, but his other skills seem a tad lacking. The longer he went on in the episode, the more annoying he got. He was SO NOT Starfleet. One nice thing that he brought to the episode was that Mariner and Boimler got to work together on the same side, and they actually worked really well together. Rather than blaming Fletcher for everything, they gave him the credit for everything, which got him promoted to Lieutenant and transferred to Boimler’s dream assignment aboard the USS Titan, Captain William T. Riker’s ship after the events that occurred in Star Trek: Nemesis that occurred in 2379, the previous year, only to get fired six days later. Nice casting of JG Hertzler in this episode I thought the casting of JG Hertzler as the Drookmani captain was particularly brilliant in this episode, including drawing the character with an eyepatch, much like his more famous character General/Chancellor Martok from Deep Space Nine. He always puts on a good performance. It’s Microsoft Clippy! I mean Badgey! Most of the listeners, including Kyle and me, were taken by Clippy, which easily reminded us of the Microsoft Office Assistant, commonly known as Clippy. I was wrong in the episode that it came out with Windows 95. In fact, Clippy was introduced with Microsoft Office in 1997. It was universally hated by users. Tendi & Rutherford used his new holodeck training program that was not quite ready for use in your typical holodeck adventure gone awry that was part Elementary, Dear Data, part The Big Goodbye, and part Fistful of Datas. I enjoyed this part of the story. Star Trek: Lower Decks – Season 1 Episode 5 – Cupid’s Errant Arrow We’re back with the fifth episode of Lower Decks, titled Cupid’s Errant Arrow. This episode was written by Ben Joseph and directed by Kim Arndt. In this one, the crew of the USS Cerritos teams up with the USS Vancouver to manage controlled demolition of an unstable moon of Mixtus III, but the natives are restless and can’t agree on the getting it done. Bradward’s got a girlfriend! This episode, we get to see more of the Mariner/Boimler dynamic. Boimler’s got a hot girlfriend on the Vancouver, Lieutenant Barbara Brinson, and Mariner thinks something is wrong with her like she’s a shapeshifter, spy, or parasite. Mariner turns herself into a conspiracy theorist and it’s pretty funny, although maybe there were a little TOO many references to past shows, making this one my least favorite episode so far Boimler is definitely a dork. Tendi & Rutherford competing to keep a T88, whatever that is, was probably my least favorite part of this episode. I guess the Lieutenant Commander’s antics I didn’t particularly like. The mission was something straight out of a Star Trek episode, with the exception of the USS Vancouver. The Enterprise never seemed to need any help. This captain coveting the other’s deeds is a little surprising on this show. I’m not sure I like it, but it’s probably more realistic. To kick off the final episode of our second season, we speak to the musician Fenne Lily. Fenne is based in Bristol in the UK and released her first album, On Hold, in 2018. She's currently preparing to release her second record and kindly took some time out to chat to us about her favourite Elliott Smith song, what she learns from Elliott's writing and why she didn't become a fully fledged fan until a little bit later on. After we speak to Fenne, we delve into the podcast archives to pick out a couple of clips from our S1E6 interview with Ross Harris, who directed the video for Fenne's favourite song pick. We round this all of with a special listener pick, which today come from Charlie Ramirez, the founder of Elliott Smith fansite, SweetAdeline.net. In this episode, Shana Ginsburg and her former LSAT student Claudia Ryan cover Part II of our Conclusion lesson.  Be sure to begin with S1E6 for Part I of this lesson.  Part II is all about transition words and keyword analysis. LSAT arguments are supported and conditioned not only by the ordering of the premises and conclusions,  but also by connectives which signal order, relationship and movement.  Transitional words and phrases connect and relate ideas, sentences, and paragraphs. They assist in the logical flow of ideas as they signal the relationship between sentences and paragraphs.     We'll discuss how to analyze transition words before heading to the answer choices for a keyword analysis.   We'll finish today's episode with a tough conclusion practice question. We'll also be busting a few LSAT myths about accommodations for students with test anxiety.  If you're considering testing with accommodations, you won't want to miss it. Whether in a relationship or an actual marriage, we don't take the necessary time to get to know the other person. We tend to move too fast. This is often one of the first steps of why things go downhill. No, there's no 'one size fits all' timeframe of getting to know someone, and it's super important to simply do our due diligence. This is a big step and a big phase in life to just rush. It's not worth rushing into a relationship or marriage. What are your thoughts on moving too fast? I know I am going to push buttons with this one! (sorry/not sorry)Like I said last week it saddens me that we are more interested in how we look than our health and we have become really good at “hacking” the body for weight loss. At first glance you might think this is good, but the focus is on weight loss and not health..... and this is scary.I get it.... Letting go of your weight and focusing instead on your health is confronting. But the thing is, being on any diet long term, that significantly reduces any macro nutrient, is going to cause negative effects on your body. How many people do you know on a low carb diet (E.g. Keto)? Do they know what the risks are?... Do you?Support the show (https://michellemarsh.com.au/michelle-marsh/join-our-community/)

Coming Back From a Podfade Howdy -- I’m Kyle Bondo, and this is Podfader! My weekly podcast about helping you keep your podcast from podfading, especially when the drive for new and interesting content becomes a struggle. S1:E6 -- Fellowship of the Podfader I had everything ready to record my podcast. I took a deep breath, clicked record, and moved up to the mic. Then a hot wave of embarrassment hit me. I had nothing to say, and I was in trouble. The Two Realities I like being a podcaster but didn’t like doing the podcasting work. I was avoiding my podcast. Why? Because it takes work to produce and I had gotten lazy. I didn’t want to plan my next episode, do the research, and write the script. I just wanted to “wing it” — or what my friend Tim calls “improv”! Only what they never tell you about improv is that IT takes a lot of work too! What kind of work? Planning, research, and scripting — just like my podcast. The epiphany was the realization of how truly prideful I had been and it took a frozen moment in front of a microphone to point it out. I had skipped all the necessary steps that take place BEFORE the microphone gets turned on. I had let my podcasting muscles go weak. Return of the Podcaster When you come to this realization — owning the fact that YOU let this happen — that YOU let your podcasting muscle go weak, you need to take your podcasting skills back to the gym! The Nine Steps Back to Podcasting: Step 1 — Acceptance: You have to admit that your podcast is worth working on. Step 2 — Humility: You need to believe that you don’t know everything about podcasting. Step 3 — Clarity: You decide that you need to improve your skills and learn a better way to produce your podcast. Step 4 — Insight: You take an honest look at your podcast and expose what you need to fix or improve. Step 5 — Commit: You take full ownership of your shortcomings and create a plan for how you can improve. Step 6 — Focus: You take action by prioritized your most important improvements and taking real action to work on each one. Step 7 – Reflection: You take a personal inventory of your progress, celebrate what you have accomplished and admitted to yourself when you feel like podfading. Step 8 – Fellowship: You activity seek honest feedback from your podcasting community. Step 9 – Mentorship: You actively give back what you have learned to the podcasting community and help other podcasters from podfading by becoming mentors. And now you know. About the Show Podfader, hosted by veteran podcaster Kyle Bondo, focuses on the challenges of keeping your podcast going and the drive we all have has creators to keep our podcasts going with new and interesting content. If you’re a struggling podcaster, Podfader will be your sanctuary to get you through the messy middle of any podcasting strategy. Stop fading and start casting! Star Trek: Discovery – S1E6 – Lethe On this episode of The Star Trek Discovery Podcast, Adam and I discuss Season 1 Episode 6, titled Lethe. This episode was a bit of a departure from the long story arc we have seen so far from this series. Although some of what happened in this episode will continue on through this season, it felt very self-contained, almost episodic. Sarek and Burnham We learn a lot more in this episode about the complicated relationship Burnham has with Sarek. Burnham’s application to join the Vulcan Expeditionary Group was rejected, not on its own merit, but because Sarek was forced to choose between Burnham and Spock. Only one would be able to go. Sarek chose Spock, but Spock decided to join Starfleet instead. He never revealed that to Burnham and reflected upon this with regret as he lay dying on his ship. What’s Lethe? A false rejection? A troubled captain? According to Wikipedia, Lethe means “oblivion”, “forgetfulness”, or “concealment” in Classical Greek. The episode title suggests concealment, as Sarek concealed the truth about why Burnham’s application was rejected. It also fits Lorca concealing his true psychological condition to Starfleet. Cornwell discovers his PTSD, but before she can do anything about it, she is abducted by the Klingons. Unlike his unsanctioned rescue of Sarek, Lorca decides to play it by the books and wait for instructions, probably to hold onto his command. Groovy mind melds, spore trips, and funky nebulas! One thing this show was… it was trippy!!! The mind-meld was trippy. The nebula itself was very colorful and trippy. The Formerly uptight, Stamets is now the mellow Chief Engineer as a result of his spore drive encounters. Very trippy, indeed! Of all the people in the world you not expect to say Happy Birthday Lee Harvey Oswald, Bill just happens to being doing shots with his upstairs neighbor. This week Bill goes off the rails and Jake doesn't even know about it because he is too busy taking care of Sadie these past 6 months (time is flying right along in the past). After the failure to see if Lee is the shooter for the Walker assassination attempt, Jake takes things into his own hands as he interrogates George de Mohrenschildt. Read More... In the discussion of S1E6, "A Golden Crown", the cast can't stop talking about all the totally metal stuff that happens in this episode. Sansa turns Septa Mordane to dust. Khal Drogo has selective roasting related English abilities. Tyrion performs at the Apollo. All this, plus the strongest animal to ever live, on this episode of Postgame of Thrones! - This message has been approved by Ted Cruz.

Hello everyone and welcome to the New York City Football Club Fan Podcast. Who am I? Well I'm your host, Andrés Emilio Soto, a real estate agent in NYC and a season ticket holder who sits in Section 205, so come buy me a drink! This podcast is by fans and for fans. I want you to voice your opinion, give feedback, express your thoughts about NYCFC and to have fun while doing it. To leave a message visit NYCFCPodcast.com/talk. On today's show I'll be speaking with Matt Reed, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of MetroSoccerNation.com @metro_soccer_ny. We discuss four MLS Players NYCFC should target this summer, Carles Puyol & Zlatan Ibrahimović rumors linked with NYCFC, we preview Match against Phili and give our predictions. But first some news around the NYCFC world. Predictions Corner Matt Reed - NYCFC 3 vs Philadelphia Union 1 Andres Soto - NYCFC 2 vs Philadelphia Union 1 Colton Coreschi - My match preview should likely be up later tonight, if not, then early tomorrow at nycfcwatch.sportsblog.com. As to my prediction, I think the back line may face trouble reintegrating Williams and not starting Watson-Siriboe, but overall I expect a much stronger performance and anything less than three points would be disappointing. I’ll go with a final of 2-1 in favor of NYCFC, Villa and Shelton score! But they have to be careful! Can’t sleep on a team looking for its first win, as we learned last week! This was a week of challenges and failures. Ash failed to research for a fact time, Comcast failed to maintain Brad’s internet connection, and Brad failed to count the number of chambers in a revolver. Steph faced the ultimate challenge of fixing some really rough audio and valiantly conquered the odds to deliver this episode in time.
