This show starts off by recapping the Seahawks news from the past two weeks, including the sad news of former Seahawks quarterback Tarvaris Jackson passing away this week. In free agency news, Seattle continues to add to the offensive line by bringing back Mike Iupati. What does this mean for the team in terms of how they approach the 2020 draft and which players are going to be competing for which positions? With the draft beginning next week, we discuss the similarities and differences from previous drafts. Even though there are some glaring needs on defense, the team could continue to look for weapons to surround Russell Wilson with early on in the draft. With the offseason being very different this year, it could also change the way teams may want to think about their rookie players going into next season. The Seahawks recently posted a video on the tight ends position room where Greg Olsen was introduced to the current group of Seattle tight ends. To say that he'll bring a higher level of maturity to the group is an understatement and we have the clips as evidence. We also clue Luke Willson into why a grizzly bear would obviously win a fight with a gorilla. Adam has ranked the 2020 class of quarterbacks and has decided that only two rise to the level of providing a team with a quarterback who gives a team a legitimate shot at the playoffs. In the second half of the show we dive into some clips from the Mysterious Universe podcast that explores some of the origins of Pete Carroll's coaching philosophy. If you want to check out their full podcast, you can tune in around the 1:12:25 mark of their show. We also discuss a listener email that talks about just how lucky the team would be to find a pass rusher who can provide an immediate impact late in the first round or into the second round of the draft. Closing out the show, we talk about an Air Force program that combines two of the most terrifying terms to come from sci-fi films into a single program that should sound alarm bells for anyone familiar with the Terminator and Star Trek series. Kam Chancellor is snubbed from a list of All-Decade team snubs. A politician in Washington State has decided to give up politics to serve the public in another way and science and medicine tells us all why it was better for humanity that the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl this year. Post 'Go Hawks' in the comments for the latest

Sad news this week as Seahawks fans learned that former quarterback Tarvaris Jackson passed away in a car crash earlier this week. Nathan Santo joins the show to talk about some T-Jack memories as he was the QB to transition Pete Carroll's Seahawks team into the Russell Wilson era. Mike Iupati and Neiko Thorpe have re-signed with the team. Iupati gives Seattle the chance to keep continuity on the offensive line from last season. Before getting into our picks we talk about some of the top needs for Seattle and how Pete Carroll and John Schneider may approach this draft. We start the mock draft by trading out of the first pick with the New York Giants, which allows Seattle to add another top 100 pick as well as Mr. Irrelevant. Ultimately, our mock draft comes away with the Seahawks selecting two interior defensive linemen, an edge rusher, an offensive tackle, two wide receivers, a tight end and a running back. They're almost sure to be spending that pick on a quarterback, so Adam and Brandan take a look at their best options. They guys talk about which guy is the best in the draft and which quarterback they'd prefer to the Rams to talk. Adam's list of top five quarterbacks looks nothing like the consensus top picks and he explains why. The Seahawks haven't yet re-signed Tarvaris Jackson. Pete Carroll and John Schneider have only drafted one quarterback for Seattle. Is this the year they spend a pick on QB, or does Adam's third favorite quarterback fall out of the draft entirely to where he could come into Seattle as a perfect fit behind Russell Wilson. Brandon Browner is back in Seattle and reunites with the team and the original Legion of Boom. Why does this move have Adam and Brandan so intrigued? After a rough season in New Orleans, does Browner have anything left in the tank? Browner actually fills a very specific need that the team was missing last year, but we'll have to wait and see if Coach Carroll feels the same way. Do better nods this week go to Tiger Woods for a story that came out about a time he had lunch with a group of Navy SEALs, and to the Panthers for making a seemingly strange decision to let one of their top defensive players go. Brandan talks about some excitement around a new movie trailer and Adam wishes a happy birthday to a Seahawks player he wants to see playing in Seattle in 2016. iTunes | Stitcher | TuneIn | Facebook | Twitter | RSS Call or text: 253-235-9041 Email: gohawks@seahawkerspodcast.com Visit Patreon.com if you'd like to help support the show and get bonus episodes Download our free Amazon app, Android app, or iOS app Find Sea Hawkers clubs around the world at SeaHawkers.org Music from the show by The 12 Train, download each track at ReverbNation

The dramatic 26-20 overtime win brings Broncos fan Gerrad Timm back to the show to talk about the Seahawks effort against the Broncos. Before getting into the game, the guys talk about the trip to Seattle and the how Seahawks fans handle the fans of visiting teams appropriately, at least in the experience with Gerrad and Phil. With a bye week on the horizon, the guys take an extended look at the game and weaving in some of the top plays into the show. The Seahawks defense plays nearly flawlessly for 59 minutes, only allowing scores when the Broncos had a short field. Yet, in the end, Manning finds a way to drive the length of the field to send the game into overtime. Fortunately, Manning never has the opportunity to touch the ball as Marshawn Lynch punches it in after Russell Wilson leads the team down the field. Peyton doesn't get the ball, which leads Brandan to congratulate Tarvaris Jackson for the role he played at the overtime coin toss. The Sea Hawkers Podcast welcomes Kathryn Bunn-Marcuse, curator of the Here and Now exhibit at the Burke Museum to talk about the mask that likely inspired the Seahawks logo. Kathryn talks about how the Seahawks logo was most likely created, the history of the mask and its similarity to the original logo, and the current effort to get this piece of history shipped across the country for Seattle fans to view the mask in person. Lastly, the guys talk about the five-way tie in this week's pick'em challenge. In the "Do Better" segment, the guys talk about the league's troubles overshadowing the good things that are happening and a Denver columnist cries about wanting the overtime rules changed. The Cardinals special teams and a guy who bets his way to a huge payday are honored as "Better at Life."
The Seahawks rebound from their first preseason loss to annihilate the Chargers 41-14. The interception and touchdown by Tharold Simon is one example of how games how now turned into an illegal contact-fest and has officials seeing things that just aren't there. Seeing Earl Thomas continuing to field punts continues the discussion on whether or not the risk is worth the potential reward, Adam and Brandan talk about impressive performances in preseason game two, and discuss if Terrell Pryor is poised to unseat Tarvaris Jackson as the backup. Jenny Goos, writer and vlogger for OnHerGame.com joins the podcast for her third appearance on the show. With two weeks of preseason down, Jenny talks about how she's tired of watching "practice" and ready to get to the regular season. Do better candidate Johnny Manziel is called out for his poor execution of a gesture we've seen from Marshawn Lynch, Michael Vick and late Titans owner Bud Adams. Adam takes one more run at the flurry of illegal contact penalties being called. Finally, tune in to the show and find out why free agent NHL left winger Paul Bissonnette and Russell Wilson are both better at life than Skp Bayless.
Adam and Brandan talk about the expectations for the Seahawks this season, the preseason QB battle between Tarvaris Jackson and Brady Quinn, and other players to watch this preseason. An Interview with Bruce Bright, Sea Hawkers Central Council President.
