Aaron Glenn is officially the new head coach of the NY Jets. They still don't have a GM and are bringing in a few guys for a second interview. Glenn is part of the Bill Parcells coaching tree and worked with Sean Payton and was also a scout for the Jets. We also need an offensive coordinator and a quarterback. Mark Brunell could be an option for OC. Glenn is going to have to lay the hammer down the same way Parcells did. What will happen with Aaron Rodgers now? Boomer said that should be up to the head coach and nobody else. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with Ben Johnson talking about quarterbacks making the difference in games and Jerry and Boomer battling about that. The Jags fired Trent Balke. Nick Sirianni talked about playing the Commanders for the third time this season. Dan Quinn was asked about being the underdog again. The Bills and Chiefs are so similar to each other according to Boomer. Patrick Mahomes was asked if he gets favorable calls from the refs. We heard John Minko on the call as St. John's beat Xavier. Mariano Rivera is involved in a strange lawsuit that we will need more information on before commenting. In the final segment of the hour, a caller wonders how Aaron Glenn was in the locker room after the Marino spike game. Boomer said the defenders, including Glenn, did not quit on the play.

Hour 2 The Titans said they will not pass on a generational talent in the draft. That person is most likely Travis Hunter and not a quarterback. That means, to Gio, that the Giants are taking Shedeur Sanders. There is no way Deion will let the Browns draft him. They can draft Cam Ward. We also talked about Pat Shurmur's time with the Giants and whether he was good or not. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Dan Campbell from Hard Knocks loving on Aaron Glenn and then Glenn's message to the team. Caleb Williams is excited to get Ben Johnson in the organization. Jayden Daniels talked about how far they've come so far this season. We heard from Mahomes and Josh Allen about the upcoming Championship game. Sal is having eye surgery and BT was sympathetic. BT's buddy did his vasectomy. Chris Russo was on Howard Stern to talk about urological issues. Mike Francesa did not like Melania Trump's hat at the inauguration. Adam Schein really loves Ben Johnson. He is not happy with the MLB Hall of Fame voters. John Minko's on the call as St. John's beat Xavier. In the final segment of the hour, a group of Chilean men were arrested for burglarizing Joe Burrow's home. He's a young guy who looks like The Rizzler. He was wearing a Bengals hat. Should the Giants get Sam Darnold? The Titans or Browns may go after him. Boomer doesn't want Darnold back here in NY with the Giants. Hour 3 We talked about names still in the mix for Jets GM. Which NY media guys currently covering the Jets were on the beat back when Aaron Glenn was a player? There are still some interesting openings, like who's going to be the head coach in Dallas? We talked about potential defensive coordinators for the Jets, including Steve Wilks. That guy has had way too many jobs in a short amount of time. We also talked about Al getting ‘antsy' whenever he goes somewhere like a football game. He wants to get out of there. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Ben Johnson as he met the media and talked about what he's bringing to the Bears. Caleb Williams talked about the ‘fire in the eyes' of Ben Johnson. We played some of Al's old songs about Adam Gase's crazy eyes. Jalen Hurts is well aware of what Jayden Daniels is doing. Daniels was asked about being a rookie potentially leading his team to a Super Bowl. John Minko was on the call as St. John's beat Xavier. Chris Russo said, ‘I've got to get myself the old man diaper'. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer liked Melania Trump's hat. Gio doesn't like a woman in a hat. Episode 273 of “The Sports Experience Podcast” is here & we're continuing our block of episodes on the most famous of Brett Favre's backups. After a 1990 season which saw Brunell lead Washington to a PAC-10 title, many believed the Rose Bowl MVP quarterback would lead the Huskies to an undefeated season in 1991. Unfortunately, a knee injury in spring practice derailed Brunell's 1991 season. He lost his starting job to Billy Joe Hobert, and Washington won a share of the National Championship. Brunell regained his starting job in 1992 after Hobert was suspended, and Green Bay took a chance on the athletic signal-caller in the fifth round of the 1993 NFL Draft. Though Brunell did not see much playing time his first two pro seasons, he flourished after he was traded (the first ever trade in franchise history) to the expansion Jacksonville Jaguars before the 1995 season. It did not take long for Brunell & the Jaguars to find success in the NFL. By the end of 1996, Brunell led the league in passing yards, led the Jaguars to their first postseason berth, upset both Buffalo and Denver on the road in the playoffs and made the franchise's first AFC Championship Game. One of the league's best teams during the late 1990s, Brunell led a lethal passing attack complimented by Keenan McCardell & Jimmy Smith. It was also during his career with the Jaguars (1995-2003) that Brunell made all three of his Pro Bowls. The crafty left-hander then spent the next four seasons starting with Washington (2004-2007). He followed his stint with the Redskins as a backup in New Orleans (2008-2009) where he won a Super Bowl after the 2009 season. Finally, Brunell rounded out his pro career as a backup with the New York Jets (2010-2011). Presently, Brunell is back in the NFL as the Quarterbacks Coach of the Detroit Lions. Why is facing challenges and trials in faith crucial for character building?Bryan Schwartz, a former NFL linebacker for the Jacksonville Jaguars and current leadership mentor, underwent a significant transformation through his faith journey. Born and raised in St. Lawrence, South Dakota, his faith journey started during his rookie season in the NFL under the influence of his teammate Mark Brunell, which led him to immerse himself in Christianity and embark on a path of self-discovery and spiritual growth. His unique perspective on faith, as detailed in his book "Worthy Opponents," was largely shaped by his personal struggles and battles. Schwartz found a connection to Christ's perspective and the idea that Jesus came not just for us but as us, emphasizing the importance of aligning oneself with the word of God. He views his faith journey as one marked by confronting challenges, understanding that tests and trials can serve as opportunities for growth and development under a faithful savior. This journey has been one of transformation, redemption, and finding strength amid turmoil.By facing challenges, embracing breakthrough moments, and understanding the enormity of God, Brian has emerged stronger, more resilient, and deeply connected to his faith.TakeawaysFaith and community have a significant impact on navigating life's challenges and reshaping relationships.Group conversion experiences can lead to transformative journeys of spiritual growth and discipleship.Sanctification and growth in faith are essential in the Christian journey, emphasizing continuous development and perseverance.Breakthrough moments can bring positive change by aligning mindset, skill set, and kingdom principles.Understanding the enormity of God can strengthen individuals to face challenges with faith and resilience.Facing challenges and trials in faith is crucial for building perseverance, character, and hope.Discipleship and Kingdom Impact principles are key in coaching and ministry work to empower individuals for making a difference and bearing fruit.Quotes"I'm so grateful I got to grow up there and I was grateful to be able to get out of there." - Bryan Schwartz" - Bryan Schwartz"Bryan Schwartz (00:08:09): Yeah, no, it was really cool because we all. We're all radicals, right? Like, aw, Tozer wrote an article called the size of the soul. And his whole point was, the size of your soul before Christ is still the same size after you meet Christ. He just repurposes it. And so we were all these radicals, and we were radical in our rebellion, and we became just as radical in our righteousness." - Rylee Meek"For those listening, Brian's written a book called Worthy Opponents. If you're on YouTube, I'm holding this bad boy right now. It's how God uses opposition, enemies, and adversity for your growth in good." - Rylee Meek"When we truly grasp the enormity of our God, our perspective changes. Our mountains become molehills; our tempests become ripples." - Rylee Meek"Pressure produces perseverance. And then he says, perseverance leads to proven character. Now, if I'm a boss, if I'm a CEO, if I'm a parent, right? And I know that, um, trials produce perseverance, and they produce proven character, why would I want to shelter those I'm leading from that? Former KJR personality Mike Gastineau, "The Gas Man", came to Seattle in early 1991, so he had a front row seat to see what that Husky team was able to do. Before we talk about nothing but Trevor Lawrence for the foreseeable future, co-hosts Assed Ahsan and Bentley Brown take a look at the quarterbacks of the Jaguars' past and share a memory about each. Somehow we completely forgot that the Jags went 12-4 one year with Byron Leftwich / David Garrard (and didn't even win the division!), we can barely recall what Blaine Glabbert looked like, and we argue that Trevor will need to do quite a bit to surpass Mark Brunell's legacy. Jason Campbell — How Former Quarterback Found Himself Again After NFL Retirement

The Game Plan

When Jason Campbell walked away from football in 2015, it was not for a lack of interest from NFL teams. Instead, Campbell had fallen out of love with the game and was struggling with the idea of being relegated to backup roles on struggling teams that weren't going to be in Super Bowl contention. Fast forward to today and we see an older, wiser version of Campbell who stands by his decision to retire. While learning from veterans such as Mark Brunell during his playing career, Campbell laid the groundwork for life after football by creating business relationships and being smart with his money. Jason is now an investor, entrepreneur, and podcast host. But he hasn't left football completely behind. He now also works as a football analyst for his alma mater, Auburn University, where he led the Tigers to an undefeated season in 2004. We cover all this and more in The Game Plan, including one early investment opportunity in a well-known ridesharing service that served as a hard-won learning experience for Campbell. Huge thanks to our mutual friend Albert Sye at Mean Circle for making the introduction to Jason and for being a great friend and supporter of the show!
